ProBook 6565b/6465b, Is Displayport 1.1a?

I am using a Probook 655 whose graphic performance and "Displayport 1.2" are satisfying to me.
I am thinking of purchasing 6565b/6465b as a backup machine, and it is concerning me whether 6565b/6465b have "Displayport 1.2". Service and Maintenace manuals is dictating they are "Displayport 1.1a".

http://h20565.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=emr_na-c03066699
However, documents below can be seemed to be dictating the opposite.
" DisplayPort 1.2 is expected to be available via webdownload in June 2011. "

http://www8.hp.com/h20195/v2/GetPDF.aspx%2F4AA3-4516ENA.pdf
Is there any possibility that 6565b/6465b with updated drivers will have Displayport 1.2 ?

Both DisplayPort and Thunderbolt connections pass audio, so the answer is yes. However, I have yet to see a DisplayPort monitor that has speakers.
MiniDisplayPort or Thunderbolt to HDMI adapters work fine.

  • Webcam Freezes during call

Hi, I hope someone can help me here.
I have an HP probook 6565b.
What happens to me is that after a few seconds of transmitting video, my webcam freezes and stops transmitting leaving a still image of me up there. I can turn off the video and turn it back on. It starts to work again for a few seconds and freezes once again.
The funny thing is that I can see my webcam video fine if Im not in a call under the tools-otions-video menu.
Ive tried updating my audio and video drivers as well as uninstallnig skype and trying an older version. Right now im using 5.6.0.110
I appreciate any ideas to fix this
    Thanks

Have you checked to see if there's an updated driver for your webcam from Asus?
Do the specs on your built in webcam say it's supposed to do HD?
Any chance you may have or be able to borrow an external USB webcam to plug in to a USB port and try as a troubleshooting step?
The symptoms you're experiencing seem strange and I'm trying to come up with a way to pin down where the problem actually lies.

  • "The file is possibly corrupt. The file header checksum does not match the computed checksum."

Yesterday evening, I accidentally dropped my Probook 6565b. It bluescreened with strange red boxes around the text, so I thought the screen or something was damaged. I emergency shut down the computer, and started it up again. It was visibly slower, but I was able to use it, so, relieved, I turned it off again and went to bed.
This morning, I tried to turn it on again. It started out normally (and I am able to access the start up screen) . But afterwards, it gives me a blank dark blue screen (like before you see the Windows logo) and it stays there for around 15 seconds before it gives me the error.
I have no idea what to do, so any advice would be greatly appreciated!
I think my operating system is Windows 7, but I'm not sure.
    Thank you.

I see you have damaged both your hardrive(hardware) and your operating sytem (corrupted too, software)
You may want to run an diagonstic test of your hard drive complete before trying to reinstall windows.
Press ESC right after power button and repeatdley and look for Diagnostic test and start up test and hard drive test.
    Please report results.

  • EnvNetworkLoginID() crashes GW8 client?!

    Hi,
just tested an application of mine, which runs well under 7.x, but crashes the client
    under 8.0.0 HP2.
After debugging I realized that the token "EnvNetworkLoginID()" is the "bad boy".
Can anybody confirm that behaviour under GW8?
    cheers,
    Markus

    Okay, no reply yet.
Here's what I've found after continuing to beat my head against this wall.
The mailbox I'm using is 23% used. I have approximately 1200 items in the mailbox. There are approximately 100-150 items marked as Read Later.
I created another folder to hold items and moved all of the items from mailbox into there. (folder called: oldMailbox) I then moved back 10 items at a time testing the QuickFilter. I was able to finally successfully use the QuickFilter with 10 items in Mailbox. I continued to get successful QuickFilters with 20, 30 and 40 items in Mailbox. When I tried 50 items in Mailbox it errored and closed Groupwise altogether. I don't see anything wrong with the items as they are normal e-mails with some containing attachments (spreadsheets and such).
It seems like I'm missing something. Am I missing reading the requirement for using QuickFilter as a folder with only 40 items in it? Is this a documented restriction? Am I missing a run time library for Groupwise? Do I need to tell all of my users that when using a HP ProBook 6565b that they cannot have more than 40 items in Mailbox?
    Any Novell Devs out there?
Processor: AMD A4-3320MX APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics 2.10 GHz
Installed memory (RAM): 4.00GB (2.48 GB usable)
    System type: 32-bit Operating System
Is this process too fast for the app? or am I missing a co-processor?
Any ideas, anybody? Just need a bone tossed my way....

  • QuickFilter crashes GW7 Client

    Howdy,
    Groupwise Client v7.0.2 4/6/2007
    build: 561
    on a:
    HP ProBook 6565b
    Windows 7 Professional SP1 32-bit
    4GB RAM
I can use the majority of the client with no issues. Problems arise when using the QuickFilter, Filter or Categories on the Mailbox. When I enter a word (first name for example) in the QuickFilter the circle begins to spin and then I get a message box:
Novel Groupwise Client has stopped working.
A problem has caused the program to stop working correctly.
Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is
    available.
This happens when using the regular filter and the filter Categories. Funny enough, when I use the predefined filters: Filter for Received Items, Filter for Sent Items, Filter for Posted Items and Filter for Draft Items they work without crashing the client!
Grpwise.exe is the faulting application and gwenv1.dll is the faulting module. I have seen several posts here with similar problems but no resolution. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Is it a problem with the query? LDAP? address book? personal address book? frequent contacts?
    How does QuickFilter actually work/query/filter?

  • ProBook 6465b - does it support SATA III?

    Hi,
I have ProBook with A6-3410MX on AMD A60M FCH, which should has only 6Gbps SATA. But my friend has the same ProBook with A4 on the same chipset, and he's bought Crucial m4 SSD and benchmarks results show that it is only SATA II (3Gbps). Can anybody confirm that 6465b support or not 6Gbps SATA?

    Hi pepe,
that's the point - it should support but results from AS SSD on my friend's 6465b shows that it not support SATA III. And I try to discover why. Is it hardware (HP do not include SATA III) or some software problems. Unfortunatelly, i don't have any SATA III SSD or HDD to check my notebook.

Have a look at the write speed. My SATA II Corsair has the same write speed like the SATA III M4 256GB and 512GB. Reading is just 415MB/s (my has approx 275MB/s) for all of them. I would expect a better read/write performance from a SATA III SSD..

  • HP Revolve 810 using DisplayPort to VGA adaptor to connect to projector

I have a HP Revolve 810 and often use a DisplayPort to VGA adaptor to connect to a projector. Sometimes the graphics card recognises the projector immediately, sometimes I have to log out of windows and then log back in again and sometimes I have to restart the computer before it recognises the external display.
Is there a fix for this problem? I'm using a DisplayPort to VGA adaptor provided by HP.

  • Docking station recognize displayport screens

Hi. I have e hp probook 650G and a docking station for it. To the dock I have two displayport screens in daisy chain attached. It works very well, but... When I take the laptop out of the docking station and eventually plug it back in, the screens do not start automatically (the lid of the laptop is closed and the laptop is not in sleep or hibernate). I have to go into the graphic settings and choose the monitors manually each time! Really annoying ! I have got another setup with the same pc and docking station but screens connected to DVI and VGA. In this setup it automatically activates the external monitors. Anyone got a clue on how to solve this issue? Best regardsNic

unfortunately the T500 can only use the Advanced dock or mini dock that has DVI output, no displayport support through the dock. The series 3 is only usable on the T400s and the upcoming revamp of thinkpads.

  • 6465b - Bios and ssd issue. Intel 520 not recognized by BIOS.

    Hi,
I am writing with 2 issues.
    First, BIOS issue.
BIOS F.20 for 6465b and 6565b is no longer available. The current version on HP support page is BIOS F.03. Anybody know why it was changed?
When will be released F.22 which should enable support for SATA III, as F.22 for 6x60b notebook?
Second, ssd issue, which I believe is connected with Bios.
I've bought Intel 520 120gb SSD and it is not recognized by BIOS. When I put it as primary hard drive and turn notebook on,i go 5 blink of caps + num lock, and al stuck.
I can't install system. But ssd works when in external eSATA enclosure. So it isn't ssd related problem.
I know for sure that 320, m4 are perfectly working on 6465b. Other SF drives, Force GT and Agility 3, too.
What is wrong with 520, and how it can be resolved. I think only new BIOs, unfortunately.

I can confirm that an Intel 520 SSD in combination with an HP 6465b is an issue.. The CAPS + Scroll blink 5 times while in POST. This indicates a general mainboard issue, but I am 100% sure that there is an incompatibility between the two
I have installed BIOS F.21 and the firmware of the Intel SSD is standard (errrr 300i if I'm not mistaken).
Right now the laptop is useless (it has to have a SSD drive for our developer-dudes) so I'm hoping HP will release F.22 soon.. Where did you find that F.22 will add support for SATAIII?
Stupid thing is, when I put the drive in a really old beast (HP nx7400) the SSD works without hickups.

  • 27: iMac Apple Mini DisplayPort to DVI adapter quits working post-firmware

I iMac Apple Mini DisplayPort to DVI adapter suddenly quit working after I installed Apple's latest iMac display firmware update. This is an Intel Core i5; the monitor is an LG Flatron 24" Wide, and when it powers up it says "no video input" and goes into power-saving mode. No amount of replugging cables helps, but the monitor works fine on other computers.
The Displays control panel just shows one monitor, and clicking Detect Displays does nothing.
I suspect Apple's Display Firmware Update. My installer log shows the following, but the problem only happened today after the latest update:
    6/1/10 9:45 AM 27-inch iMac EFI Firmware Update 1.0
    6/1/10 9:45 AM 27-inch iMac Display Update 1.0
    6/4/10 11:47 AM 27-inch iMac SMC Firmware Update 1.0
    6/4/10 11:47 AM 27-inch iMac Display Update 1.0
    6/5/10 7:29 AM 27-inch iMac Display Update 1.0
I have automatic updates disabled, but after each update I would see more firmware updates ready, but caution leads me to never install more than one of these at a time, and then to wait a while to see if anything bad happens. The odd thing is that the Display Update 1.0 seems to have been installed three times in this course of events. Alas, there appears to be no way to uninstall a firmware update.
Here is the System Profiler Graphics/Displays output:
Chipset Model: ATI Radeon HD 4850
    Type: GPU
    Bus: PCIe
    PCIe Lane Width: x16
    VRAM (Total): 512 MB
    Vendor: ATI (0x1002)
    Device ID: 0x944a
    Revision ID: 0x0000
    ROM Revision: 113-B9110C-425
    EFI Driver Version: 01.00.383
    Displays:
    iMac:
    Resolution: 2560 x 1440
    Pixel Depth: 32-Bit Color (ARGB8888)
    Main Display: Yes
    Mirror: Off
    Online: Yes
    Built-In: Yes
    Connection Type: DisplayPort
    Display Connector:
    Status: No Display Connected
It says the Mac sees no display connected, and the display gets no video signal. Since the adapter is an active device (it has powered electronics to convert DisplayPort signals to DVI signals) I suppose it could have just coincidentally died. But that seems unlikely given that the thing worked perfectly just before the last firmware update.
Does anybody have similar experience, or better yet, a fix?

Unfortunately the Apple Knowledge Base does not give much information about this update. Such has how to tell if it has been successfully installed. I suspect that because it keeps recurring in the install log that it has not been installed successfully as yet. Are you receiving this update through Software Update? Can you locate the installer for this update? It maybe located in Apps/Utilities.
Some firmware update installations can be interrupted/corrupted by attached devices. If you find the update's installer on your iMac, I suggest that you detach all external devices from the iMac, use an Apple USB keyboard & mouse if available, follow the instructions carefully and install the update manually. If you do not locate the installer I suggest downloading manually from the link below and installing it.
The Knowledge Base article mentions that your iMac should also have a Graphics Firmware Update. I suggest that you download and install that as well.
