  • Input values not saved in MRP 2 view

    Hi Gurus,
we have a new new Z field called "Vendor material class" created in "MRP 2 view" as per the customer requirement . we maintained the values all the values via a Z transation code. but when you want to save a value for this filed in MM02 it is not getting saved and a message " No changes made" in our Production system.
but where are in our test box we were able to save the values. the program versions are same in both the systems. let me know if i am missing any congigurations for this field which saves the value in Production system.
    appreciate your help on this.
    Thanks,
    Nagesh.

    Hi Nagesh,
I think you may check the SAP note:
44410  Integrating cust.-specific fields in matl master
to see if you have done all the pre-requisition to correctly integrate your own fields in material master, then you may compare this between your test system and production system to see if you missed anything.

  • MRP 2 view - service level field

    Hello colleagues.
Can anybody explain me what's the usage of the field "service level (%)" in the MRP 2 view of the material master ?
The SAP help does not help that much ...
    Regards,
    Fernando

    Dear,
In MRP2 view thers is field service level % where you can define the percentage of present stock will be in safety stock.
hope it will works for u
    Service level
Percentage specifying what proportion of the requirement is to be covered by the warehouse stock.
    Use
The system uses the service level to calculate the safety stock.
The higher the service level, the higher will be the safety stock calculated by the system to compensate for additional consumption or delays in delivery.

  • Individual and Collective Indicator in MRP 4 View and BOM Expl.No

    Hi
Please get back to me on the below queries
    a) I am using Planning Strategy u2013 40, do we need to maintain Individual or collective Indicator in MRP 4 view?? If I maintain what will be the impact and if I do not what will happen to the dependent requirements.
    b) What is BOM Explosion No?? please let me know this functionality and the configuration steps if any..
    Thanks

    Hi,
    u2022Individual requirements
Requirement quantities of the dependent material are stated individually.
    u2022Collective requirements
Requirement quantities of the dependent material are grouped together.
    BOM Explosion Number:
    1) Starting from the MRP menu, choose Master data -> BOM explosion number -> Edit.
The system displays the initial screen for maintaining the BOM explosion number.
    2) Choose Execute.
The screen for maintaining the BOM explosion numbers now appears.
    3) Choose New entries.
A screen now appears where you can enter new BOM explosion numbers.
    Enter data as required.
BOM explosion number - The BOM explosion number is the object for which the following data is maintained. It can be entered alphanumerically.
Fixed key date - The fixed key date determines which bill of material is exploded.
Plant - You can also specify a BOM explosion number for a specific plant. Enter the appropriate plant in this case.
Material - You can specify a BOM explosion number for a specific material. Enter the appropriate material in this case.
Status - You can set the BOM explosion number to active or inactive using the status field. Only active BOM explosion numbers are used in the planning run.
    4) Save your entries.

  • MRP 4 View

    Hi All
In MRP-4 View I am seeing the  Individual/Collective Indicator.
    What it does?
If I select 1 [Individual Requirements] what is the impact in PP?
If I select 2 [Collective Requirements] What is the impact?
If I select '' '' [Individual/collective Requirements] What is the impact?
please help me to know the logic behind this.
    Thanks in Advance.

    Individual requirements
Requirement quantities of the dependent material are stated individually.
    Collective requirements
Requirement quantities of the dependent material are grouped together.
    Ex:
    A assembly contains A1 & A2 components.
    B assembly contains A1 & A3 components
If 1 indicator is used in A & B then dependent requirements will be as under:
    Req 1 for A1
    Req 2 for A2
    Req 3 for A1
    Req 4 for A3
If 2 indicator is used then in A & B then dependent requirement will be as under:
Req 1 for A1  (total required qty will be merged in one)
    Req 2 for A2
    Req 3 for A3

  • Verifying understanding on Strategy group (MRP 3 View)

    Hello Forum,
As per my understanding, if we don't have  any independent requirement or customer order for semi-finished or packaging products then there is no need to maintain any  Strategy group (MRP 3 View) field @ material master .
Am I correct or you foresee any reason to maintain it ?
    Cheers
    Sam

    Dear Sam Das,
For semi finished material if you leave the strategy group than it is ok if you do not run mrp. In case of mrp run and your semi finished product have different requirement than make to stock scenario than in that case it is necessary. If you leave it blank and run mrp system will consider it as 10.

  • What is the functionality of Bom explosion individual/collective  in MRP 4 View

Hi Experts. Please give idea about what is the use of functionality of BOM explosion Individual/collective in MRP view 4.How this function will work in strategy 10 and 20.
    thanks in advance.

    Hi,
This is a very generic question...If you explore in forum or net you will get lot of information...
This is normally used in make to order strategies like 20, 50 etc...
The individual/collective indicator in the material master record determines
whether a component is procured for a special customer requirement in the
    individual segment.
The indicator "1" for individual requirements means that the material is being
specially manufactured or procured for a sales order. A special individual segment
is created for each requirement. An individual requirement is only created if the
higher-level material does not create a collective requirement.
The indicator "2" for collective requirements means that the material is produced
or procured for various requirements. You can find these requirements in the net
    requirements segment.
The indicator "blank" means that the component is to be planned in the same way
    as the higher-level assembly.
In the above example, two individual segments are created for the shaft for sales
    orders A and B.
    Thanks
    Kumar

  • In MRP 2 view Special procurement 40

If we maintain sp. procurement 40 for  material ( Raw material , Semifinished material) What does it mean ?
    Regards,
    RM

    Hi
Suppose there are 2 plants X and Y. There is a requirement of component A in plant X but the procurment happens always from the other plant Y , then a STO for this component is raised in the plant Y. the dependent requirement will be seen in plant X only but the procurement proposal will be on plant Y.
    Hope I was clear

  • Warning message on MRP view

    Hi consultants,
I have a material that is specified as "External Procurement" Material.   It is because it's a Subcon material.  In line with this, a production version is maintained due to some business process requirement, which the system allows.  But there is a warning message "Production versions are not required with external procurement" (Message no. M3637) that comes up everytime we click the production version in MRP 4.
Client wants to remove the message totally, how do we do this gurus?
    Thanks,
    Kumar

    Hi Kumar,
If you want to maintain production version for the externally procured material as it is sub contracted, then first
    1. assign special procurement key in MRP 2 view procurement tab as the 30 (subcontracting).
Now try to assign production version, it will work.
    2. And if you want to change message from error message to information message then go to transaction code OPJB & then change this meassage to information meassge.
After this system will allow you to proceed.
Hope this will resolve your issue, reward points if helpful.

    Avinash.

  • Materail Master - MRP view 4

    Dear experts,
pls explain MRP view 4 - Follow-up matl field?
    what use? how to use?
    Regards,
    Sankaran

    Hi,
A particular material X to be discontinued. Instead of that you want to use some other material Y. For that reason this field will use.
In MRP 4 view of material X , make discontinued indicator tick. Give effective date.
Give the follow up material no.Y.
Result: From effective date, material X will be replaced by material Y.
    Reward if useful.

  • MRP Views Settings

    Dear Friends
To run Forecast based MRp for a Finished product i need the Following Settings
    1) MRP views settings for Finished product and their BOM raw materials
    2) where have to enter the Forecast values
3)How to Run MRP- basic settings
what are pre step before run MRP.
It would be very helpful if u respond quickly, i have to implement in 2 days.
    thanks
    Shivani

    Hi Shivani,
I think you are talking about consumption based planning.
Following are the Pre Requisites before running MRP
    u2022Define MRP types
Path: SPRO u2013 IMG u2013 MM u2013 Consumption based planning u2013 Master data u2013 MRP Types
This will determine the MRP procedures, forecast usage and select automatic calculation of either safety stock / re-order  point
    u2022Define MRP areas
Path: SPRO u2013 IMG u2013 MM u2013 Consumption based planning u2013 Master data u2013 MRP Areas u2013 Define MRP areas
We define this for combination of plant, SLoc and Vendor.
Note: MRP area and plant must be the same.
u2022Maintain MRP relevant data at Plant/SLoc level using TCode MM01
    - MRP 1, MRP 2 and MRP 3 are for plant level data:
You need to maintain here the MRP type, forecast model and the period indicator.
In MRP1, you can maintain the Re-Order point and Lot Size
In MRP2, you can maintain Safety stock and planned delivery time parameters.
    - MRP 4 is for SLoc level data.
u2022 Create MRP profiles (using Tcode MMD1)
Using this, you can maintain general parameters for materials. The MRP parameters defined here will be independent of the
      material master.
u2022 Set material status for cross site / plant in material master.
Material status for Cross site will be assigned in the u2018Basic datau201D view whereas Material status for u201CPlantu201D will be assigned in
      MRP 1 view.
After having all these pre-requisites maintained, you can run the MRP as Single Item or Multi Level.  Check TCode MD01 / MD02 / MD03 / MD04
    Hope this helps you.
Let me know if you need anything further.
    Regards,
    Nikita

  • Pl.explain the relevance of these MRP views fields

    Hi
Can somebody explain the behaviour of the  following fields , which exists in material master
    1. MRP-3 View - Availbility check - 01 for daily requirements , 02 for individual requirements
    2. MRP - 4 view - Individual / Collective - 01 for individual , 02 for collective
    regards
    Sandeep

    Dear ,
Please find below the answer :
    1. MRP-3 View - Availbility check - 01 for daily requirements , 02 for individual requirements
01-Daily requirements records group together or update several requirements under certain conditions in the material master record (plant, date, procedure, requirement class). For this system generates transfers the requirement for each order to the MRP .So that MM can either produce or procure.
02- In individual requirements records, a requirement is created for each SD document. The respective entry in the stock/ requirements overview identifies the order quantity and the document which gave rise to the requirement. Here requirements in a day are processed at a time.
In simple language  suppose you have three sales orders in one day
    - with 01, you can see only one grouped requirement in MD04;
    - with 02, you can see three.
    2. MRP - 4 view - Individual / Collective - 01 for individual , 02 for collective  : This indcator is Only applicable in MTO scinario .Not in MTS.The individual/collective indicator in the material master record determines whether a component is
procured for a special customer requirement in the individual segment.
Indicator 1-individual requirements means -material is specially Produced or procured for a SO. An individual segment is created for each requirement. An individual requirement is only created if the higher-level material does not create a collective requirement. Here , for example ,  if you keep 1 in MRP4 view  and you have two different sales order for same material , run MRP-MD02-It will give you two different Planned order in MD04.
Indicator 2 - collective requirements -the material is produced or procured for various requirements and grouped together in in single Planned Order for same material with same Lot Size key -EXample -EX . if you keep 1 in MRP4 view  and you have three different sales order for same material , run MRP-MD02-It will give you one Planned order in MD04 .
If you want to control the X individually for the respective header materials (BOM), use the "explosion control" field in the component's item data (general data view). The setting in the BOM overrules the setting in the material master record.
Hope it is clear to you .
    Regards
    JH
