/proc/cpuinfo and i7z report different CPU frenquency

I'm using a ThinkPad X201 laptop with a Core i5-520M processor. When I run something like 'ssh-keygen -b 16384 -f /tmp/ssh' to maximize my CPU load, /proc/cpuinfo reports I'm running at 2.4GHz, which is the frenquency without turbo. However, I run i7z at the same time, and i7z reports the processor is running at a higher frenquency at 2.9GHz maximum. More than this, when I run 'lscpu',  'CPU max MHz' is 2400.0000. What's wrong with it?

This could be wrong but its my understanding accross most distros,
On mobile devices (anything that uses a battry) then the system only uses what it needs, so if it dosnt need 2.20 GHz one second then it wont waste power doing so. If for example you start a game up it will then change it to what it needs say 2.20 GHz. Its purley a power-saving tweak. I personally have never had any problems nor noticed any diffrence in performance so i'd say this is a good thing.

  • Pages on Mac and iPad reported different

On my iMac I am using:  OSX 10.7.5 with Pages '09 v 4.2 (Part of  iWork package originally bought for loads of money on DVD - and subsequently updated through Mac update) Now offered at a more modest but additional price as a separate application to the same version level.
On the iPad 2: I bought the iPages App  recently updated to iOS 6
When I upload a file to the iPad through iCloud I get a Pages icon on the iPad which when opened it says this may be different so open another copy.
    My questions:
Do I need to keep both copies of the Pages document on the iPad 2?
Will they still sync through iCloud?
Are there any other problems if I delete the original uploaded document?
    By The Way
Why doesnt Apple treat the original copy of Pages as the initial copy of the App?  Is this the incompatibility?
    Thanks

I have the exact same setup and I can tell you you're in for frustration. iWork for Mac and iWork for iOS are similar but completely different applications that use different incompatible files. iWork for iOS doesn't support a myriad of features from the Mac version. The main thing is fonts... iOS only has a few fonts so it will convert any font not supported. I've also encountered problems with tables, headers, footers, floating graphics, floating text boxes, and imported Numbers charts.
Then there's the file size bug. Any file from iOS downloaded from iCloud or emailed to your Mac will expand by 5Mb when converted to the Mac version. Looking inside the files, iWork Mac added 13 background color files, each weighing in at 400Kb. A simple totally blank Pages iOS file will grow from 28Kb to 5.1Mb on the Mac when converted. I've dug through the program and can't seem to find a fix, other than cut-n-paste to a new document and trash the iOS file.
I agree with Peter. The Mac version is the full blown iWork and the iOS version is just a subset. Personally, I avoid docs on iCloud and opt instead for DropBox to sync files between my Mac and Macbook. That works flawlessly. I treat the iPad version as a separate app and export to Word and Excel and email the files to my Mac. That gets around the 5Mb file issue but then I have to reformat everything again.
All of this has lead me back to using Office for stuff I need mobile access to. With the new SkyDrive and online Office apps, it's a much more fluid workflow and I haven't had any compatibility issues either. But that's another thread.

  • Conky and top reporting differently

Here are some screen caps of conky and terminal running top command. The part I am interested in is the processes, one says 85 while the other says 105?
I question this because when I had gnome-system-monitor installed it would always show gnome-keyring-daemon as being open multiple times when I would logout and log back in. But, a fresh reboot would fix the issue.
what exactly is going on? How can I keep uninstalling things and when I reboot my processes in conky keep going up and up?
I am now running xfce and trying to rid myself of things I don't need like gnome based programs. The only thing stopping me from ridding myself of this gnome-keyring is GDM? But what login manager would I use if I don't use GDM, Any suggestions?
    How do I post pictures?

I use Xfce and Slim.  Search the wiki for slim.

    Dear Experts,
We found that the data in web reports is not in line with BEx reports, The Infoprovider is same the query is same. But when we are executing reports with same varialbes in BEx and Web reports, they are showing different values.
COuld you please let us know what could be the possible reasons for the above criteria, and how to overcome it?

  • Software inventory report and PC show different information

    Hi,
    The scenario is the following:
    SCCM 2012 R2.
    Clients with windows 8.
The report "Software registered in Add Remove Programs on a specific computer" and "Programs and Features" show different information.
Programs and features screenshot(ordered by name):
    Report screenshot (ordered by name):
    The question is:
    Is the above normal behavior?
    if not
How to get in the report "Software registered in Add Remove Programs on a specific computer" all of the software listed in "Programs and Features"?
    Thanks in advance!

Take a look at that device in Resource Explorer.  Notice that on a 64-bit device there is an 'Installed Applications' class and and 'Installed Applications (64)' class.  This data comes from the registry, and on a 64-bit operating system there
are actually two separate 'Add/Remove Programs' lists that are aggregated in the OS user interface.
If in Resource Explorer you see all of the software you expect to see, but not in the report, it is likely because the report is only looking at the 'Installed Applications' class and and not 'Installed Applications (64)' class.
If you enable the 'Installed Software' class (either by going into the client settings or the AI node), you will notice that the 'Installed Software' class is a combined version of both the 32-bit and 64-bit applications.  This is much easier to report
    off of.
    I hope that helps,

  • Migrating Crystal and Webi Reports with Universe from 1 folder to different folders

    Hi There
Does anybody know of a way to do the following
this is for BOE XI 3.1 SP 6 FP 6.2 on Windows 2008 R2
We have multiple Crystal and Webi reports developed from 1 universe and we need to copy these Crystal and Webi  reports to different folders in the same CMS  for example
Universe Dev > Universe Folder Dev -  Crystal and Webi Reports set in Dev Folder
Create a copy of the Dev Universe to Universe Folder Test – Copy the Dev Crystal and Webi Reports to Folder Test we need to Map it to the universe in the Test Universe folder(Copy of the Dev Universe)
Create a copy of the Dev Universe to Universe Folder UAT– Copy the Dev Crystal and Webi Reports to Folder UAT we need to Map it to the universe in the UAT Universe folder(Copy of the Dev Universe)
Create a copy of the Dev Universe to Universe Folder PROD – Copy the Dev Crystal and Webi Reports to Folder PROD we need to Map it to the universe in the PROD Universe folder(Copy of the Dev Universe)
The reason for this is each of these universe are connected to a different database i.e Test, UAT, Prod and we have over 200 reports and at the moment we have to manually map each report to the new universe individual which take up hours.
I have tried Lifecycle manager but came to the conclusion it cannot achive this
You cannot change the universe attached to the Crystal and Webi reports
you cannot promote Reports and Universes in the Same CMS to different folders
you cannot change the folder even if you promote jobs between servers
Does anybody know of a way to do this

    Hi,
The way you should do this is to have 4 different BO systems, Dev, Test, UAT and Prod.
Having this will allow you to use the same universe across all systems, but the connection to the database will be different on each system.
Not only will this allow you to smoothly report off different data sources, but you will also be able to upgrade and make configuration changes without impacting your production system.
    Cheers,
    Josh

  • W2100z Memory Config - 2x 2GB and Solaris only reports 1 CPU right now

I inherited a w2100z and installed OpenSolaris on it. The OS only reports 1 CPU in psrinfo. It came with 2 2GB memory sticks and I moved them to DIMM slotts 3 and 4. Why is only 1 CPU reported? Does the other CPU need a pair of DIMMs installed on the mezzanine? Thanks.

I just bought some ram today... I can't wait to see how this machine stacks up against the Sun X4150s and M4000s we have at work. I know it won't hold a candle to them but it should be interesting to see.
It would be nice to pick a pair of 285 processors in the future but I read about some bugs in another post and they are scarring me away from the dual cores just a little bit. Guess I'll have to do some more research on the problems.

  • Normal report and ALV report, where exactly both are differs?

For Normal report and ALV report, where exactly both are differs, I mean from which part the process / coding will differ, pls le me know..?
    Akshitha.

    Hi Akshitha,
In Normal reports we use formatting techniques to display the report list. We define heading and size everything to display report list. But where as in alv we need not to use any formating there are some function modules which will automatically display output list in LIST  and GRID format.
In Normal report we cannot make changes to the output list where in ALV report we can change the ALV output display dynamically. You can find lots of options for  the ALV list such as you can download output list into Excel sheet and Sorting options Acending and decending order in ALV but in normal report We need to write syntax in the report to display output list in sorting order.  The ALV report is very easy way to display the output compared to Ordinary report.
Check below some links which will help you to understand about ALV. If you know about Normal report you can campare by userself the difference.

  • UCCX 8.5 - Historical Reports - Traffic Analysis report and Application Performance Analysis report different calls presented

    Hi,
    Please Advice.
When I compare Traffic Analysis report and Application report, Calls presented are not same. Please Help !
    Also attached herwith the reports

    Mohammed,
It is common, in many of the Cisco Express 8.5 environments we have looked at, for the Total Incoming Calls given on a Traffic Analysis report to be a higher number than an Application Report.
The Traffic Analysis Report counts every unique sessionID (unique call) that is inbound (contact type of 1).  The Application Reports do a similar thing but qualify (filter) only the records that have an application assigned.
There are simply times where inbound calls have been directed to an "agent" without having an applicaiton assigned.
The best thing the reporting user can do is to run a query on his or her database such as:
         select * from ContactCallDetail where contactType=1and startDateTime > '2012-11-16 10:00:00' and startDateTime < '2012-11-16 11:00:00';
Usually when an application is not assigned to the record in the ContactCallDetail table it is because the destination type is equal to 1, which is an 'Agent' instead of a 'route point'.
So if you modify your select statement to filter by destinationType, you can quickly find the records that don't have the application assigned.
    Example:  select * from ContactCallDetail where contactType = 1 and destinationType = 1 and startDateTime > '2012-11-16 10:00:00 and startDateTime < 2012-11-16 11:00:00';
    When you look at these records, you will see the agent that took the call from the destinationID field.  The number in that field should match up with the field called 'resourceID' in a table called 'resouce';
Example:  select * from resource where resouce=6011; where 6011 was the number you found in the destinationID field.
If there is still confusion about the source of the call - then talk to that agent and find out what is was.
Good Luck and let me know if you need further help.

  • Installing Workspace and Financial Reporting on two different servers

    Hello Gurus,
I was wondering if anyone can help me with an issue I am having.
I want to install Workspace on Server 1 and Financial Reporting on Server 2. Is it possible to configure Financial Reporting components which is on Server 2 with Workspace on Server 1..? Shared service is installed on Server 1.
    Regards,
    Saurabh

    Hi Memmet,
Yesterday we tried setting up an environment similar to the doubt that I had and here are the results.
Components in Server 1 : Database, Shared Services, Workspace and Financial Reporting Components
Components in Server 2: Only Financial Reporting Components[Configured with the Database for Workspace on Server1].
Now FR studio on Server 1 works absolutely fine without any errors, but when we try to login to the FR studio that is on Server 2 it gives error that I am not authorized to access.
I referred the document which is in My Oracle support but that did not help much and also provisioned the user with all the required rights in Shared service.
I would like to know if we can have Financial Reporting from Server 1 and Server 2 configured with the same Workspace simultaneously, so that if someone updates any report from the workspace the same are reflected in both the FR studio.
    Regards,
    Saurabh

  • /proc/cpuinfo | grep vmx  -- output changing between OVM Server 2.1 and 2.2

Have not seen this issue before.
I have a Dell 2950 with 2 Intel Xeon Quad-Core CPUs , with Virtualization enabled in the BIOS.
When I install OVM Server 2.1.5, my cpus support virtualization (based on "cat /proc/cpuinfo | grep vmx" returning data)
When I upgrade to OVM Server 2.2, my cpus no longer support virtualization ( based on "cat /proc/cpuinfo | grep vmx" returning NO data)
If I do a clean install of OVM Server 2.2, my cpus do not support virtualization ( based on "cat /proc/cpuinfo | grep vmx" returning NO data)
I have to be missing something simple.

    Thanks Herb.
    # xm dmesg | grep -i vm
    (XEN) VMX: Supported advanced features:
    (XEN) HVM: VMX enabled
That is what I was looking for. They need to update Metalink Doc 468463.1.

  • Sorting in 6i and 10g reports

    Hello All,
    I am running 6i and 10g reports against a 10g database.
I ran one of the 6i report and it generated a report in one sorting ordear
and when i ran the same report on 10g ,it generated the report in ddifferent order.
Both the reports r run against the same 10g database.
The order by clause on the columns of the records r identical.
Now i wanted to understand how it is sorting in different orders in both 6i and 10g reports?
    Thanks,
    Ranz

    Hi,
Please note the fact that 6i Reports is not certified to work with 10g Database. Hence it becomes impossible to address the sorting behavior of 6i Reports, though there is nothing different in the way it works. I would suggest you to use 10gR2 version of Reports services with 10g Database which is certified and supported. Thanks for your understanding.
    Regards,
    Anand

  • UCCX 7.0.1SR5 to 8.0 upgrade while also adding LDAP integration for CUCM - what happens to agents and Historical Reporting data?

    Current State:
    •    I have a customer running CUCM 6.1 and UCCX 7.01SR5.  Currently their CUCM is *NOT* LDAP integrated and using local accounts only.  UCCX is AXL integrated to CUCM as usual and is pulling users from CUCM and using CUCM for login validation for CAD.
    •    The local user accounts in CUCM currently match the naming format in active directory (John Smith in CUCM is jsmith and John Smith is jsmith in AD)
    Goal:
    •    Upgrade software versions and migrate to new hardware for UCCX
    •    LDAP integrate the CUCM users
Desired Future State and Proposed Upgrade Method
Using the UCCX Pre Upgrade Tool (PUT), backup the current UCCX 7.01 server.
Then during a weekend maintenance window……
    •    Upgrade the CUCM cluster from 6.1 to 8.0 in 2 step process
    •    Integrate the CUCM cluster to corporate active directory (LDAP) - sync the same users that were present before, associate with physical phones, select the same ACD/UCCX line under the users settings as before
    •    Then build UCCX 8.0 server on new hardware and stop at the initial setup stage
    •    Restore the data from the UCCX PUT tool
    •    Continue setup per documentation
At this point does UCCX see these agents as the same as they were before?
Is the historical reporting data the same with regards to agent John Smith (local CUCM user) from last week and agent John Smith (LDAP imported CUCM user) from this week ?
I have the feeling that UCCX will see the agents as different almost as if there is a unique identifier that's used in addition to the simple user name.
We can simplify this question along these lines
Starting at the beginning with CUCM 6.1 (local users) and UCCX 7.01.  Let's say the customer decided to LDAP integrate the CUCM users and not upgrade any software.
If I follow the same steps with re-associating the users to devices and selecting the ACD/UCCX extension, what happens?
I would guess that UCCX would see all the users it knew about get deleted (making them inactive agents) and the see a whole group of new agents get created.
What would historical reporting show in this case?  A set of old agents and a set of new agents treated differently?
Has anyone run into this before?
Is my goal possible while keeping the agent configuration and HR data as it was before?

I was doing some more research looking at the DB schema for UCCX 8.
Looking at the Resource table in UCCX, it looks like there is primary key that represents each user.
My question, is this key replicated from CUCM or created locally when the user is imported into UCCX?
How does UCCX determine if user account jsmith in CUCM, when it’s a local account, is different than user account jsmith in CUCM that is LDAP imported?
Would it be possible (with TAC's help most likely) to edit this field back to the previous values so that AQM and historical reporting would think the user accounts are the same?
    Database table name: Resource
The Unified CCX system creates a new record in the Resource table when the Unified CCX system retrieves agent information from the Unified CM.
A Resource record contains information about the resource (agent). One such record exists for each active and inactive resource. When a resource is deleted, the old record is flagged as inactive; when a resource is updated, a new record is created and the old one is flagged as inactive.
