Hi Srikant,
In order to upgrade SP9 to SP12, you will have to download the following patches from the SAP Service Marketplace.
Patches required for WAS Upgradation:
J2EERT12_<PL>.SAR
SAPINST12_<PL>.SAR
CTRL<DB>12_<PL>.SAR
J2EERTOS12_<PL>.SAR
Patches required for Portal Platform:
EP6CTRL12_<PL>.SAR
EP6TOOLS12_<PL>.SAR
EP6PORTAL12_<PL>.SAR
SAPINST12_<PL>.SAR
Patches required for KMC:
EP6KMC12_<PL>.SAR
EP6CTRL12_<PL>.SAR
EP6TOOLS12_<PL>.SAR
SAPINST12_<PL>.SAR
Unpack these files with SAPCAR using the command:
sapcar -xvf <name of the SAR file>.sar
Run the SAPinst and follow the steps to finish upgradation.

  • ECC EHP5 upgrade:is i mandatory to upgrade netweaver portal & BI systems

    Hi Gurus,
Currently we  are having landscape of :
    1.SAP ECC6.0 SP stack at 17
    2.Netweaver Portal 7.0  SP stack at 17
    3.Netweaver BI 7.0  SP stack at 12
Currently, viewing BI reports using Portal.
We are planning to upgrade our ECC 6.0 system only  to EHP5
    My questions are:
    1. Is it mandatory to upgrade netweaver portal and BI systems also.
    2. We are very less dependent on BI.  So, can we continue with the same old BI system with ECC6.0 upgraded to EHP5?
Please shed some light on this.
    Thanks in Advance.

  • Step by step procedure for Upgrade to ECC6.0

    Hi,
I gained a lot from this forum . Can someone please mail me at
    [email protected]
step by step procedure for upgrade .
Will award full points for helpful documents..
    With regards,
    Mrinal

SAP defined a roadmap for upgrade.
    1) Project Preparation
    Analyze the actual situation
    Define the objectives
    Create the project plan
Carry out organizational preparation for example identify the project team
    2)Upgrade Blueprint
    The system and components affected
    The mapped business processes
    The requirements regarding business data
3)Upgrade Realization -- In this phase the solution described in the design phase is implemented in a test environment. This creates a pilot system landscape, in which the processes and all their interfaces can be mapped individually and tested on the functional basis.
4)Final Preparation for Cutover -- Testing, Training, Minimizing upgrade risks, Detailed upgrade planning
    5)Production Cutover and Support
    The production solution upgrade
Startup of the solutions in the new release
    Post processing activities
Solving typical problems during the initial operation phase.
SAP expects at least 2 to 3 months for Upgrade and that again depends on project scope and complexity and various other factors.
    STEPS IN TECHNICAL UPGRADE
    •     Basis Team will do the prepare activities. (UNIX, BASIS, DBA).
    •     Developer need to run the Transaction SPDD which provides the details of SAP Standard Dictionary objects that have been modified by the client. Users need to take a decision to keep the changes or revert back to the SAP Standard Structure. More often decision is to keep the change. This is mandatory activity in upgrade and avoids data loses in new system.
    •     After completing SPDD transaction, we need to run SPAU Transaction to get the list of Standard SAP programs that have been modified.  This activity can be done in phases even after the upgrade. Generally this will be done in same go so that your testing results are consistent and have more confident in upgrade.
    •     Run SPUMG Transaction for Unicode Conversion in non-Unicode system. SPUM4 in 4.6c.
    •     Then we need to move Z/Y Objects.  Need to do Extended programming check, SQL trace, Unit testing, Integration testing, Final testing, Regression Testing, Acceptance Testing etc.,
The main Category of Objects that needs to be Upgraded is –
    •     Includes
    •     Function Groups / Function Modules
    •     Programs / Reports
    •     OSS Notes
    •     SAP Repository Objects
    •     SAP Data Dictionary Objects
    •     Domains, Data Elements
    •     Tables, Structures and Views
    •     Module Pools, Sub Routine pools
    •     BDC Programs
    •     Print Programs
    •     SAP Scripts, Screens
    •     User Exits

  • What's the right procedure to upgrade from ACS 5.1 to 5.3

    Hi folks,
What would be the right procedure to upgrade ACS 5.1 to 5.3 ?
Our client needs to a smooth upgrade to the latest and greatest 5.3 version. The plan is use a backup made on 5.1 and install it on the new system.
Should the new system be running version 5.1 or I can start with 5.2 to save time for the upgrade?
    Eugene

The patch 2 installation went OK, failing on the restore part.
The database file is 206 MB of size. Isn't it too much to pull over FTP?
    ACS53/admin# restore DB_Backup-120320-1607.tar.gpg repository REPO
Restore requires a reboot to successfully complete. Continue? (yes/no) [yes] ?
    % Failure occurred during request
And the FTP server doesn't report any error. The connection is made and closes:

    hi Guixin,
During Netweaver 2004s upgrade, the upgrade program detects what software is installed on the source release system and maps it to the SAP NetWeaver 2004s usage types. SAPJup then upgrades your system to a
system with the determined usage types.
Please refer to the section '1.2.5.3 Upgrade Paths: Overview' of the Upgrade Master Guide : SAP NetWeaver 2004s to have details about the target release of the usage types which will be mapped to the components installed on the source system.
Netweaver 2004s Upgrade guides are available on SAP Service Marketplace http://service.sap.com/instguidesnw2004s
Hope this information help you in your upgrade tasks

  • Corrrect procedure to upgrade

What is the correct procedure to upgrade from Forms30 to Forms60 ? Is it Forms30 to Form4.5 to Forms60 ? Is there any direct method ? I tried using f60genm, but it only generates the .fmx file not the .fmb file. what I am missing ??

There is documentation for the Schema update utility, that explains that pretty well. (Too long to write out here). Alternatively, you could load all your current files into the new application. With one note, before loading your application file you can update it by opening it in the win32 metadata manager. It will convert it to the latest HFM version.

  • What is the procedures to upgrade graphic card

I've just got a GT 120 graphic card and want to replace the old GT7300.
(some articals say it works fine with 1st gen intel mac pro and say that install the driver first, but no driver cd in the upgrade kit)
    I've also upgrade to OS10.6.
But I don't know the correct procedures of upgrading this graphic card.
    Can anybody help me?
    Thanks in advance.
    Cheers,
    Edta

There should not be any "articles" I am aware of as that card will only work with EFI64 Mac Pro 2008 and later, and not with early 2006/7 models.
Short list, other than ebay and flashing PC cards: ATI Radeon 4870 - contrary to not being listed by Apple which is just causing us to have to keep reiterating it works.
The 8800GT is gone, shame, and there is no Nvidia offered for 1st gen.
Now that you have 10.6 you are fine, just swap out the 7300GT. The 4870 requires 10.5.7 though, so your older systems and DVDs other than 10.6 won't work.

    Hi,
Check this link which may help u:
    http://sap.ittoolbox.com/groups/technical-functional/sap-basis/igs-upgrade-1455477
The installation/upgrade procedures for the integrated IGS are as follows:
    Integrated Version Installation
The integrated IGS is automatically installed with the SAP Web Application Server.
    Integrated Version Upgrade
You find the upgrade files for the integrated IGS version on the SAP Service Marketplace:
http://service.sap.com/swdc  ®  Download  ®  Support Packages and Patches ®  Entry by ApplicationGroup  ®  SAP Frontend Components ®  SAP IGS  ®  SAP IGS .
There, you find the IGS executables and libraries (igsexe_.sar) as well as the IGS folder structure (igshelper_.sar) containing among others font files.
With the upgrade files of the executables and libraries, proceed exactly like you would with kernel patches (for example, extract the Archive to the same location). More information about kernel patches can be found in the related note 19466 in the section Copying and Installing a Patch.
The upgrade files for the IGS folder structure must be extracted to the instance directory (DIR_INSTANCE). More information can be found in note 1028690.
After a restart of the Web AS the new IGS is up and running.
Information about finding out your IGS patch level is provided in note 931900.
For an upgrade of an integrated IGS please also check note 896400.
For more info check this SAP Help doc:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/4b/72d43ac66e1f08e10000000a114084/frameset.htm
    Hope these helps u...
    Regards,
    KK.

  • HT1338 Do you have a recommended procedure for upgrading from os x 10.4 to 10.6?  The machine is a MB with a 2Ghz Core 2 Duo.

What is the procedure to upgrade a MacBook 2GHz Core 2 Duo from Tiger (10.4.11) to Snow Leopard (10.6.6)?  We have the new os and apps disks; wish to retain data files.

Back up the system, insert a retail DVD, double-click the installer, and follow the instructions. The retail DVD will be either 10.6 or 10.6.3; Mac OS X 10.6.6 DVDs can't be used to upgrade.

  • How to upgrade NetWeaver 2004 SS19 to 2004s SPS10????

    Hi,
I cannot find any useful information on HOW to do this.  Some links I follow eventually lead me to this page:
    https://websmp201.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/011000358700001130682005E
which say that if you're running NW2004 SS19, it must be upgraded to SPS10.
Furthermore, NW2004 uses SAPINST, but NW2004s uses JSPM.  I can find info on updating NW2004 and NW2004s installations, but how do i get the stack from NW2004 to NW2004s????
Any help would be MOST appreciated!
    Thanks!
    David

    Hello David,
The upgrade tools are able to include SP Stacks of your target release into the upgrade procedure:
    1. The tool checks your current SP Stack and gives you the information which minimum SP Stack level you should use for your target release (the so-called "equivalence Support Package level"). This Support Package must be included so that no data is lost in the upgrade.
    2. You download the required SP Stack level (or a higher level) from SAP Service Marketplace and enter in the GUI of the upgrade where your SP Stack files of SAP NetWeaver 2004s are located on your hard disk.
    3. The tool will then upgrade your system from SAP NetWeaver '04 to SAP NetWeaver 2004s and also apply the downloaded SP Stacks.
So, the result of the upgrade in your case would be an SAP NetWeaver 2004s SP Stack 10 system, no manual patching would be required as part of the upgrade.
For more information, see the upgrade guide for SAP NetWeaver 2004s (available at http://service.sap.com/upgradenw2004s). There, also the Upgrade Master Guide is available that provides further information concerning the planning of your upgrade.
I hope this information helps to get an idea of the overall procedure.
    Best regards,
    Boris

  • Upgrade Netweaver 2004 to NW7 (2004s) - only platform

    Hi,
What is the approx. time normally required to upgrade NW 2004 to NW7 on linux O/S, not interested in upgrading ECC5 to ECC 6.0. Just want to upgrade platform and not any core component.
What is the approach of upgrading only platform (2004 to 2004s)
    Thanks.

    >
The time needed is dependent on many things, mainly available memory, database configuration and speed of the I/O system.
The procedure is to get an upgrade kit and read the upgrade guide, check all notes (be aware, there are quite a few of them) and then execute the upgrade.
    http://service.sap.com/instguides
    -->  SAP NetWeaver
    --> SAP NetWeaver 7.0 (2004s)
    --> Upgrade
Then download the upgrade PDF according to your CD/DVD kit (SR2 or SR3):
    Upgrade Guide - SAP NetWeaver 7.0 SR2
    Upgrade Guide - SAP NetWeaver 7.0 SR3
You will need sapnet access (for upgrade keys and notes) and an installed and working solution manager system to generate your solution manager key.
