Procedure to deleting POS, Planning areas and related infrastructure in DP

Hi ALL,
Our APO DP implementation has multiple Planning object structures (POS) and plannining areas. Now one of our division has 2 POS, one of which is deactivated as they has lot of changes some time back. Now there is lot of consuion as both have almost same names with light difference.
So many times we try to open deactivated planning book or even in RSA 1 we get confused. So we decided to delete all infrastructure for one we have deactivated.
Can some one advice from what level do I start deleting example:. Planning book, Macro bok etc. and in BW we want to get rid off all infocubes and other structures related to this Division.
Pleas advice the procedure for this.
Thanks
KV

You can delete the objects in the following sequence:-
Data transfer process
Transformation
Datasource
Infocube
Macros
Dataviews
Planning books
Planning areas
MPOS
Info-objects
Time bucket profiles and Storgae bucket profiles
Please let me know if there's object of your interest that I may have missed

  • Table for Planning area and planning books

    Hi,
Is there a table that gives the list of planning books associated with a planning area? I want to enter a planning area  and get the planning books associated with it or enter planning book and be able to get the planning area it is in.
    Thanks.

    Hi Raj,
You can try with transaction ST14,there you find the detail about your planning area and book and macro and so on ..for all the application DP and SNP and CIF.

  • Moving Planning areas and Planning books from SCM 4.0 to SCM 5.1

    Hello Experts,
Can anyone have idea of how to transport planning areas and Planning book from SCM 4.0 to SCM 5.1.
Do we need any prerequisite to Transport Planning area and Planning book from Lower version (SCM 4.0) to higher version SCM 5.1.
Any suggestion could be very helpful for me.
    Thanks!
    Best Regards,

I have never done this, but I suspect it might be tad easier to just recreate them in 5.1 There are scores of tables that Planning Book configuration lies in. I would not rely on a transport mechanism working across versions to migrate every bit of the configuration accurately.

  • How can I delete the existing objects and Relation ships in OM?

    Hi One and All,
Hope all of you doin well,
I want to delete the all existing objects in OM, like Org units, positions, jobs and etc... and also relationships.
    Please guide me.
    Thanks,
    Potru.

all Objects are stored in table HRP1000 and relations in HRP1001, related to HRP1001 there are HRPADxx tables depending on the relationship.
You will have to write your own program.
If you have Clone&Test you could use /BKC/SOL21_PDPDEL to delete complete (sub-)structures.

  • Deleting a Business System and related/assigned objects

I am PI newbie (as will soon become apparent) so first I apologise for my “simple” question.
In PI one business system has been replaced with another e.g. BS_US_1CLNT is replaced by BS_US_2CLNT. I want to delete the first business system and all its related components and links without breaking anything, preferably.
What is the best way to do this? I assume I go to the interface builder, select Object View, then select BS_US_1CLNT and open the object list. The object list consists only of communication channels so I can right click on each CC and delete? But what if these have been assigned already to Configuration Scenarios? Are there other objects/assignments I should take care of or check? Is this the right way to go about this i.e. simply right click on each CC under the BS_US_1CLNT tree and then delete?
Please help me with the steps I should take to proceed with this, and any objects etc. I should take care of.
    All help greatly appreciated.
Wish you all a nice day further.

    Hi Glen,
It is not easy just to delete all the objects pointing to a certain business system, but the way to delete would be communication channels first and then the business system would be last.
When deleting a communication channel, you can see where it is used by right-clicking on it and then select the Where-Used List option. It will list the objects that uses that communication channel, namely receiver agreement (for receiver) and sender agreement (for sender).
Once you have re-created the receiver/sender agreements to use the new business system, it should now be safe to delete the channels and the sender/receiver agreements. You should also do the same with the business system, right-click it and select Where-Used List. You also need to re-create the objects that uses that business system e.g receiver det, interface det, receiver agreement (if not yet deleted), sender agreement.
Do not worry about being a newbie, everyone of us started as one
    Hope this helps,
    Mark

  • Deleting Planning Area.

    Hi BPS expers,
Which measures I would like to take before deleting the Planning ares whihc are no more used in order not to disturb the system?.
The cubes are already deleted. I need to check the following issues......But I don't know how to do it.
    1. How to  check the Global planning sequences related to these planning areas?
    2. How to know in which Pgm catogories these Planning areas are registered?
    3. Some other precautions should be taken care during this deletion process?
    any sugestions please............
    Thanks in advance
    Regards
    sailekha   .

    Hi,
As of global sequences you have to manually check each glabal sequence to find out if the area you are about to delete is being used. Also if those global sequences are used in any planning folders or web applications.Otherwise i dont see any issues.

  • Upload Notes to DP planning area

    Hi All,
We have requirement of initializing the planning area and then reloading the data by backupcube.
Also notes created/maimtained in the planning books needs to be backed up and loaded back after planning area initialization.
Please let me know the process for downloading and uploading the notes to the planning area.
    Thanks & Regards
    Shankar Dhangar

    Hi Shankar Dhangar,
As far as I am aware, the note are stored in a separate table and should not be deleted when you deinitialise the PA.
As long as you keep the characteristic in your POS you should be fine.
Have a look at note 571629, it might help you.
    Thanks and Regards

  • Planning area transport issue - Urgent

    Hello Everyone,
We are in SCM 5.1. In my planning area, there is already data and CVCs. When I make changes to the keyfigure disaggregation calculation type in the planning area and transport the changes from Dev to QA, all the CVCs and data in the QA system gets deleted. One thing to note here is that there is a message in the transport log - "No valid storage bucket profile exists". But that storage bucket profile exists in QA and I made sure to run the time series consistency check in Dev and QA before moving the transport.
We opened an OSS message with SAP and they released 2 OSS notes and still after applying these 2 notes, the issue is not fixed. Supposedly in SCM 5.1, planning area changes could be transported to the target system without a data loss. Wanted to find out if anyone has come across this issue or if you had transported planning area changes after Go-Live without a data loss in SCM 5 or 5.1. I appreciate your quick reply to this message. Thanks.
    Regards,
    Mohammed.

    Hi,
I need to run the report - RSDG_IOBJ_ACTIVATE for all the characteristics and keyfigures or just the keyfigures which I have changed in the planning area? Please note that I have changed only the disaggregation type in the planning area and not anything related to that keyfigure in RSA1.
Do I need to run the report - RSDG_CUBE_ACTIVATE for the internal cube of the planning object structure?
    Please elaborate. Thanks.
    Regards,
    Mohammed.

  • Delete individual Plnning books and dataviews. without a transport

    Hi Experts,
I am trying to delete individual planning books in Production system, the problem is I cannot transport the whole planning area as some of the settings in development were changed, so i have to delete the planning books and data views indivudually.
    How do i proceed further.
This is little critical, any suggestion is greatly appreciated.
thank you very much for your time and suggestions.

    Hi ,
Any planning book change say creation / change / deletion can be transported without transporting the planning area .  To transport the planning book deletion alone , first delete the planning book and save that in a transport.
Release that transport to the target system and your planning book and data views will get deleted in the target system. The macros books associated with the planning book will also get deleted . The planning area will remain unaffected .
Here is the procedure to transport a planning book creation / change  without transporting the planning area :
Go to your planning area , and open it and in the go to menu choose " transport connection for DP and SNP " . It will take you to the transport connection transaction. There select the option to transport the planning book alone and do not include the planning area .
When this transport is released the planning book will get created / changed in the target system .
    Thanks

  • Adding new key figures to DP planning area

    I am using APO DP.
When adding new key figures to a planning area, is there any way of avoiding having to deinitialise and then re initialise the planning area?
Thanks for any advice on this...

First of, let us know which version of DP are you using.
If you are using 7.0, all you need to do is right click on your planning area and select Change Keyfigure setting and you should be able to update the key figures there.
The below is from SAP help for SAP APO 7.0, you should be able to add the key figure without deinitializing the planning area.
    Key Figure Settings
Here you can change the properties of the key figures of a planning area, if the planning area has already been initialized. You can also add or delete key figures. However, you can only delete key figures that are no longer used in planning books, data views, macros, or demand forecasts. You can find out in which objects a specific key figure is used with the where-used list.

  • DP Planning Area Load using Attributes

We have an APO DP Planning area that is comprised of two characteristics ("Material"; "Mill").  All the data are attributes of one of these characteristics.  We chose this for the flexibility of attributes as compared to characteristics and was under the impression this was "the best practice".
I have two questions regarding this:
    1)  We now have a requirement to populate a new key figure in DP from our sales forecast that is done in BI-IP Planning.  The sales forecast is done at the "Brand" level which is above the "Material".  It appears I am unable to load my planning area with a cube that does not have matching characteristics.   Does anyone have an idea of how to load a planning area above the characteristic level?  I think this can be done using SDP94 and the "Save Locally" and "Upload file" options but would like to find a smoother way to do this so I can automate the load via a process chain...
The error I get when I try to load via TSCUBE is:
Planning area and InfoCube must have common characteristic
    Message no. /SAPAPO/TSM272
    Diagnosis
You are trying to load data from an InfoCube into a planning area. The planning area and InfoCube should be similar. This means that they should have at least one common characteristic. If they do not, it is impossible to map the data.
    Procedure
Check the planning area and InfoCube. Make the necessary changes
    ===
    2) Is using attributes to this level a bad thing from a performance and/or enhancement perspective?  I like the fact that things adjust automatically as attributes change but now I am worried we may have over used them... We do notice some speed issues when accessing data at times...
Thanks so much for any information or comments on this!

In TSCUBE transaction use the Characteristic Assignment option to map Brand characteristic of infocube to Brand characteristic in Planning Area.
    Hope this helps.

  • Transport of Std.Planning area

    Hi
    1)  I would like to transport planning area '4CFVS01' from client 000 (BPS). Please let me know is it possible to transport only the above planning area with all its subordinate objects?
When I checked the Import of planning application, I think if we select the planning application e.g marketing and campaign planning it will transport all the planning area under this.
Where as I need only the 4CFVS01 (Validation sheet planning area) to be transported.
    2) Also please let me know planning area u20194CFVS01u2019 (Validation sheet) & u20184TPM2000u2019 (Trade promotion) come under which planning application head?
    -     Marketing & Campaign Planning
    -     Sales Planning
    -     Quotation planning
    -     Service planning
    -     Resource planning
    -     Profit planning
I guess it should be marketing and campaign planning?  Please let me know. Thanks for your help.
    Thanks,
    Vijay

    Hi Marc,
    Thanks for your response.
I have created a customized planning area with Business content (real time Infocube) in BPS side. Now when I do a transport of Std Planning area and its subordinates (i.e 4CFVS01 - planning area) in that case will it throw any error?
Since already the std infocube is mapped to a customzied planning area. Should I need to delete the customized planning area before doing a copy of the std planning area?
    Thanks,
    Vijay

  • Planning Area to Data Store Object (ODS)

    Hi,
The data source is the Planning area and the target is the ODS object. The transfer rule mapping is 1 to 1 for all key figures, there is no routine used. After executing the info package and data transfer, I am checking the value in ODS update table.
One key figure for a CVC  is always showing less value in ODS update table  than the planning area value.  I checked the extractor check in RSA3, it shows 10 records for a selection condition, but the ODS update table shows only 9 records for the same selection conditions. 1 particular record is not updated in ODS upate table.
Kindly advise to overcome this issue.
    thanks and regards
    Murugesan

    Hi,
Did you compare the data in PSA? All 10 or less and how about Keys for your DSO? Try making all Key and load.
Why do you need DSO for Planning? Aren't you aggregating ?
