Procedure to run program in back ground and foreground.

Hi All,
What is the procedure to execute for a report program to execute regulrly e.g daily as background job?
Also it can be executed manually in foreground.
Please help its urgent.

Hi,
Follow below steps.
1. Goto SM36--Give Your first Job Job1, Choose Job class
2. Click on Step, give the Program name and Variant. Come back to main screen.
3. Click on start Condition then a Popup will be displayed. There click on Date/Time. below you can see Period values there choose Daily, hourly etc.
4. then Save.

Hi,
You can do this through SM36 transaction.
SM36 -> specify job name ( any name ) ->
Click the start condition -> select the option you require
-> if you want the job periodic click the periodic job flag -> click the radio button periodic values and select frequency
-> save the dialog screen
->click on step ->Provide the program name and if any variant ->check and save the screen
-> Finally again save the main screen -> Your job will now be scheduled.
To monitor just click on Job selection. or go directly through SM37

Anyone having or had a problem with kernel_task running uploads in back ground and can't figure out what its doing

My iMac is running kernel_task and using a lot of upload bandwidth. I talked to isp this morning he said that I was topping out on the upload side while download was normal. He also said that it started about 3 weeks ago but I've been looking and trying to remember what I did as far as installing or changing setting and I can't figure it out, also using a magicjack on computer but tried without it and still the same and its hard to use the phone when other party only gets every other 4 or 5 words. HELP PLEASE!! driving me crazy.

You have something that is uploading data from your network, so you may have a runaway application doing this. If you quit all your running applications does the problem still exist? If so then you may have a corrupted system process.
Open Activity Monitor in the Utilities folder. Select All Processes from the Processes dropdown menu. Click twice on the CPU% column header to display in descending order. If you find a process using a large amount of CPU time (>=70,) then select the process and click on the Quit icon in the toolbar. Click on the Force Quit button to kill the process. See if that helps. Be sure to note the name of the runaway process so you can track down the cause of the problem.
Create a new user account with admin status, then log out of your account and log into the new account. Does the problem still exist?
Also, try basic repairs:
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions - Lion/Mountain Lion
Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported then click on the Repair Permissions button. When the process is completed, then quit DU and return to the main menu. Select Restart from the Apple menu.

Statistical forecast varies in back ground and foreground !

When i generate the Statistical forecast at *product and plant* level in foreground it gives some values, then generate in background at *product and plant level* again it gives different values.Could you pl through me some lights on me.

Maybe you have different aggregation level for your foreground forecast and background job.
Please first check your 'aggregation level' setting in /sapapo/mc8e.
Or maybe you're using different forecast profiles for your foreground and backgournd.
Please check the settings in /sapapo/mc8t of the forecast activity.
Do you have "always use job profile" setting on?
You can also check the background run's result in SM37's spool file, to see on what level did it execute, and what forecast profile it used for each planning object.
You can check note 372939 to compare the results. In this note, you will have great tips on how to compare both results. Besides that, note 374681 will give you detailed information on how to have the selections when using mass processing.
Also, check the note 546079, which contains more informations on how to have Interactive and batch forecast to run equally.

Hi,
Go to transaction SE38 --> Execute --> Background.
If your program contains selection screen, you have to pass your input values as variants.

Program with Back Ground User.

In my development we are sending data from MDM to R3 through XI.
Here iam having the following issue:
When sending IDOC's from XI to R3, some of the IDOC's are struck in Queue with status 64 and, those not going to be processed at all. This is because of the unavailability of the work processes at that time. All this is done through the back ground user XIS_REMOTE.
Iam trying to process the unprocessed IDOC's through a standard program, all the IDOC's are processed, but the data created under the Fore Ground user (i.e. my id).
<b>I want to know is there any possibility to run or write the program using back ground user XIS_REMOTE</b> <b>so that all the unprocessed IDOC's will process and get the back ground user XIS_REMOTE.</b>

ST05 you can trace SQL-statements and get expainings how these statements are being worked upon by the database. this is more a tool for investigating the performance of abaps on your 'special' database.
since you posted your request in the security forum i will assume that you want to do an authority trace. use tx. ST01 instead of ST05. Set the filter options to the program and/or user you want to trace and flag the areas you want traced like 'authority check' 'database access' 'kernel commands' ...
activate the trace using the matchlight-icon. run the background job to be traced. stop the trace after a sufficient time (or until the job hits the error you want to investigate). then press 'evaluation' and check the boxes for the lines to be displayed again ...

The area circled in red is to wide (the width) the necklace's width is as wide as the models entire chest. And also the length of the necklace it's to long it should come down to the clevage area on the model/woman.

Firefox is running in the back ground, how can I turn it off to reinstall it?

I tried to get into the save mode but Firefox still will not come up. I have uninstalled the program and reinstalled and still I can not get Firefox to come up on the screen. But when I shut down my computer it says it is running. It must e running the back ground. Please help me get Firefox working again. It is possible that your security software (firewall, anti-virus) blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full, unrestricted, access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

Want commands running in the back ground in sql developer

HI all,
I am new user to oracle sql developer. i started using it and found interseting. It is very easy just using the GUI interfaces. what ever i need to do i can do using the GUI interfaces instead of using commnads. makes my work easier. BUt there starts my concern
if i continue to use the tools one day i will not know the commands which are executed actually.
Is there any way throught which i can look what every that commands or queries that are executed in the back ground for my instruction in the foreground

If you truly wish to see all the SQL and PL/SQL executed for a given connection, you can try the following:
1. Tools -> Monitor Sessions...
2. Select a connection for a user with appropriate privileges (e.g., must be able to run DBMS_MONITOR)
3. In the list of sessions, right-click on a session of interest, select Trace Session and click Apply
4. After completing the desired activity on the connection of interest, close the connection.
5. Open the trace file in SQL Developer (File -> Open, or drag and drop it) -- make sure the Filter drop-down is set to All -- to see the SQL.
6. Pick one of the four tabbed views of the trace file data: List, Tree, Statistics, History
Step 5 is easy if the DB is local. For example, with Oracle 10g Xe on Windows, look for the most recent trc file in a directory like
C:\oraclexe\app\oracle\admin\XE\udumpFor a remote DB you would need to copy the trc onto a shared network drive or ftp it to your local machine.
If you just wish to see DDL commands as you manipulate DB object definitions from the Connection Navigator tree or the Object Viewer Actions list, the UI usually provides a SQL tab so that you may view the SQL before clicking the Apply button.

I'm a bit confused now - does the BAPI call work if you run it entirely in foreground or does it fail there too?
You need to ensure your BAPI works correctly with the data you are passing to it - preferably in foreground so you can debug it and see what is happening. If it throws errors there then add them to this thread.
If it works in foreground then you probably need to schedule the job in background but as others have pointed out, you can't use the GUI_UPLOAD function to do this.

Motion Menus back ground and the overlay

People, I have a motion BG in a menu... it run smooth, the problem is that I set the overlay for the buttons but it show the selected state ( the overlay) before the video is done so the DVD viewer can see whats coming.
I put the default button to "not set" already but still show the overlay from the begining of the video (motion).

How to start a long running program at system start and stop at login and restart at logoff

I am trying to mine some crypto currency with my computer. My computer is usually in logged off state, so I want to mine automatically when system is in this state.
Untill now I have done this:
At system start, I have scheduled a task to start the mining software
at login I have scheduled another task to kill the mining process
Here comes the question: I need to restart the mining process as soon as the user logs off.
But I couldnt figure out how to schedule a task at logoff, so I decided to use Group Policy Ediotr's Logoff scripts. But the problem is, I can't seem to log off at all, because system seems to be waiting for the "script" to finish, and since it is
a mining process, it doesn't finish, and the user is never logged off!
How do I configure windows to resume mining after the logoff?

I haven't been working much with mining, but you are thinking correctly with using the logon/logoff-scripts.
The problem is that the process for mining requires a user to be logged on, it runs i user-context.
So if you in some way can start the process to run in system context, you are good to go. (The mining process) But if this is possible at all I do not know, I think the miners are dependent on a user being logged on.
