Procedure Upgradation of NWDS

Hi All,
I'm using NWDS stack 9, and i would like to upgrade that to NWDS SP12. Is there any procedure available for that. What kind of plugins we would require for this kind fo upgradation.
Or is there way we can download the NWDS SP12 ed.
Thanks in advance
Srikant

Hello Venkata,
I had no problem with the Upgrade after I downloaded the Package from http://service.sap.com/swdc/ -> Support Packages and Patches -> SAP NetWeaver -> SAP NETWEAVER -> SAP NETWEAVER 04 -> Entry by Component -> SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio.
You should also follow the "Support Package Stack Guide - SAP NetWeaver 04 SP Stack 12" avaliable at http://service.sap.com/instguides -> SAP NetWeaver -> Release 04 -> Operations.

  • Error Stored Procedure Upgrading database from SBO 2007A PL42 to SBO 8.8

    Hi,
When executing the SBO 8.8 PL00  upgrade procedure for databases for an "old" database 2007A PL 42, upgrtade stops whith an error concerning a missing stored procedure "_TmSp_CorrectWrongDocLineNumberInOINMForIPF which is not found".
The error details says that it occurs on "Stock Updates" step (just after Checks for Payment) and log file gives the following message here after.
Does anybody have an idea how to upgrade the 2007A database ?
    Thanks

    Hi Paul,
Thanks for your prompt response on a saturday and so late in the evening
Concerning the Stored Procedure, I would like to delete it but ... it doesn't exist and that's the problem...
No such procedure in my database (programmability / Stored procedurefolder in SQL).
When searching on the forum about this stored procedure, no result.
Does this stored procedure have a link with something regarding adjustment in stock ?
"Stock updates" : what table is it in SAP B1 ? If necessary I could save the table, create a sql query to re-create it after delete and try to restart the upgrade procedure but I don't know what is the related table...
I will also try with another 2007A PL 42 database to see if it works.
Do you know if anybody has already try to upgrade a 2007 PL42 dabase to SBO 8.8 ?
    Best regards

  • Upgrade Custom NWDS B2B project

    Hello all,
I have created a custom B2B project in NWDS (we are not using NWDI!).
The question came up. When we upgrade or deploy a new b2b patch how can we upgrade the custom project (without replacing the jsps manually)?
    Thanks
    Ismail

May be you can use all the time and resources you saved by not implementing the NWDI for comparing the differences in every JSP
    Just kidding.
    - Install the standard new code in a different root node, and use a File Compare or Directory Compare software like Beyond Compare to compare the new patch / version with the latest custom version. Many compare software has merge feature too . Beyond Compare has a very nice 3 way merge.
    - Another way could be to use a nice version control software. After checking in the last known custom version, load the patch or new version in your client (laptop) then do a compare of each file. Some version controls actually give you a report on the differences - very similar to Beyond Compare but with in version control.
But, think of this. If you have even a medium size development group, source code control will be a nightmare without a proper version control. So you need a new software, license, resource to maintain them. You need someone to take care of the change control (all the builds and deploys). To make sure that the patch files are in the developer's machine, the system landscape etc. To make sure of whether the system that is being deployed has the right version of the jar or not. And more...
Hindsight, all the trouble for what? Don't we all know that NWDI has all these features built-in?

  • Error while upgrading the NWDS to SP19

    Hi all,
I am trying to upgrade my NDWS to <b>SP19</b>. The current version running on my system is SP13.
    My JDK version is <b>1.4.2_11</b>.
I have set the JAVA_HOME to c:\jsdk1.4.2_11 and path to c:\jsdk1.4.2_11\bin.
Now when I try to run the exe file 'J2EE-RUNT-CD\IDE\JDTsetup.exe' it gives an error asking me to <b>'enter a valid path to the Java SDK folder'</b>.
    Please advice.
    Regards,
    Noufal

    Hi Noufal,
When it says to 'enter a valid path to the Java SDK folder'
make an entry in it only till <b>' c:\jsdk1.4.2_11 '</b> .
Do not include the ' \bin ' folder in the valid path.
    Hope this helps.

  • Jdi/nwds upgrade

    HI,
I am planning for an upgrade of jdi from sp12 to sp13. does that mean that to deploy the new .sca files on top of the existing one. or should i remove the JDI sp12  and isntall sp13.
same with case of NWDS.. i have nwds sp12 with many projects. if i upgrade my nwds to sp13.. are my projects gonna be there or not.. is there any way that i can take a backup of the projects that i developed and run the upgrade..
could you please help me in this regard..sorry if the questions are silly...
    thank you

    Hi Shiva,
The answers to 2nd and 3rd questions is yes if you uninstall and install the NWDS.
Project settings are not disturbed. Also the as to your 2nd question i believe the settin gs made in windows-> preferences are stored somewhere in the .metadata folder under the workspace. Hence those may also not go.
SAP is delivering the upgrades also. When you start the installation of NWDS if the installation detects another version of NWDS already installed it will ask if you want to upgrade/repair.
Please verify this. Start new NDS installation and then just check whether you are getting this poup for upgrade.
    Hope this helps.

    com.sap.ide.eclipse.component.provider.ui.DevConfActiveTeamView
Can anybody help me please ? sorry for my bad english
    thanks

    Hi Fabio,
Since you have upgraded the NWDS, you will need to start the NWDS in a new workspace.
I feel you are using the same old workspace which will have the metadata loaded as per the old NWDS which will not be compatible with the new NWDS.
    Kind Regards,
    Nitin
PS: Alternatively, deleting of the metadata folder under your workspace may also work.

  • Cannot deploy with NWDS 2004s SP9

    Hi all,
I just recently upgraded to NWDS 2004s SP9 from 2004 SP14. Each time I attempt to deploy and run a WebDynpro project (one of my older projects), I get the following error:
<b>Application error occurred during request processing:</b>
<b>Details:</b> com.sap.tc.webdynpro.repository.RepositoryRuntimeException: XMLParser: Bad attribute list. Expected WhiteSpace, / or >: (:main:, row:1, col:493) The ID of this error is <b>Exception id: [00059A3C7800004800000200000093000041F13A6E7E3A9].</b>
I've found the threads and oss note that tell me to re-deploy sap.com/cafeugpuidtcompcons, (etc) but I when I look for that particular DC, its not there.
    Any suggestions?

No need to apologize, we've all been in that situation before.
The logs can be found under:
    \usr\sap\<SID>\JCXX\j2ee\cluster\server0\log
Generally defaultTrace.trc will contain this sort of thing. Normally it's best to read these with a log viewer of some kind, either the standalone log viewer or the one integrated into Visual Administrator. You can also just open the logs in a text editor, but they are hard to read and the timestamps aren't human-readable.
If you search for the ID of the exception, you may find some more info there that will help track down what the problem is. Or perhaps someone else has seen this problem before and will speak up.

  • Upgrade from 10.1.0.5 to 10.2.0.3 in RAC system / What about ASM ?

    Hi,
I have trouble finding this information but answer may be simple.
We have customers running 10gR1 and we would like to upgrade them to 10gR2 (10.1.0.5 -> 10.2.0.3)
These are cluster configurations with ASM.
I've found interesting documents about 10gR2 upgrade but most of them are about a non RAC database upgrade.
So far I've planned to upgrade the clusterware first using rolling upgrade following doc ID 338706.1 and then upgrade the RAC database following doc ID 316889.1.
But reading these notes, I'm still wondering about the ASM instance.
1/ When do I need to upgrade it ?
2/ How does the RAC database upgrade procedure accesses the datafiles if ASM instance is down ?
3/ How does the procedure upgrades ORACLE_HOME if ASM instance is running ?
    4/ ???
    Thanks in advance.

You can follow the same upgrade method that you can use for single database for asm also.

  • Upgrading license for more context cisco asa 5580

    Hi guys:
This is the situation I got to firewalls with failover and I need to upgrade the license so I can get more context (right now I have 5 context and I need 10) so I was looking at the procedure and I'm not sure If I need to restart the device or not. I was looking at this procedure:
Upgrading the License for a Failover using ASDM (No Reload Required)
Use the following procedure using ASDM if your new license does not require you to reload. This procedure ensures that there is no downtime.
•1.       On the active unit, choose Configuration > Device Management > High Availability > Failover > Setup, and uncheck the Enable Failover check box. Now click Apply. The standby unit remains in a pseudo-standby state. Deactivating failover on the active unit prevents the standby unit from attempting to become active during the period when the licenses do not match.
•2.       Choose Configuration > Device Management > Licensing > Activation Key, and enter the new activation key that you obtained with the active unit serial number. Now click Update Activation Key.
•3.       Log into the standby unit by double-clicking its address in the Device List. If the device is not in the Device List, click Add to add the device. You might be prompted for credentials to log in.
•4.       Choose Configuration > Device Management > Licensing > Activation Key, and enter the new activation key that you obtained with the standby unit serial number. Now click Update Activation Key.
•5.       Log into the active unit again by double-clicking its address in the Device List. Choose Configuration > Device Management > High Availability > Failover > Setup, and re-check the Enable Failover check box.
•6.       Click Apply. This completes the procedure.
    link: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/vpndevc/ps2030/products_tech_note09186a00806b1c0f.shtml#norelasdm
But then I checked on the cisco web page that there are some license that need to reload I see this:
    All models
Downgrading any license (for example, going from 10 contexts to 2 contexts).
Note If a temporary license expires, and the permanent license is a downgrade, then you do not need to immediately reload the security appliance; the next time you reload, the permanent license is restored.
    link: https://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/security/asa/asa81/license/license81.html
So I just want to know if I'm UPGRADING from 5 to 10 context the reload applies to my situation or not?
    Regards

No reload is required when you are upgrading from 5 to 10 security context license.
Reload is only required on the following feature:

  • Unicode Project Procedure

We are about to embark on a combined upgrade and unicode conversion project. However, I am unsure about exactly which procedure to adopt. SAP's guide recommends creating an "ABAP Preparation System" being an upgraded copy of Production which has been unicode'd. In this system they say you correct all your unicode non-compliant custom code and then create a single transport of all the corrections which is then included in the upgrade of subsequent systems.
However, another approach says to use the "ABAP Preparation System" to simply generate a list of all your unicode non-compliant custom code which you then correct in your 4.6C DEV prior to upgrading it.
My final thought is could you not simply upgrade and covernt DEV and then fix in place all your unicode non-compliant custom code in place, eliminating the need for the "ABAP Preparation System"?
What approach do those undertaking or who have completed a CU & UC project?
    Regards,
    Tom Maggs

    Dear Tom,
I'm doing the conversion with CU&UC procedure for SAP 4.6C. We decided for CU&UC because the system is MDMP (more than one codepage in TCPDB). If you have a single code page you can use the standard procedure: upgrade and then unicode conversion. The first time that I made the upgrade I used the standard procedure applying note 838403 to came back to single codepage, but you can do the standard procedure also if your system is MDMP. The scope of the first run was only test the upgrade procedure, give to developers the environment to modify programs to unicode enabled and test unicode conversion procedure.
You have to use the CU&UC in production otherwise downtime would be unacceptable.
I can't use our development, to do the first run because it last more than 2 months and we can't remain without development for long time.
    Regards
    Giuseppe
