If yes then have a look at forms help. There is an example over there. Use a display item and a bit of PL/SQL .

Y cant u have a text item, ENABLED before the that C code with DEFAULT value 'Pleae wait....' and even u could have cursor style also set to BUSY.. then after process DISABLE the text item and bring back cursor style to DEFAULT.

Progress Bar in Form

how can i use progress bar in form for performing task in background

Another simple trick I used to use is create one textitem with a white background color and a widht of 100. Create another textitem with the same height, x-pos and y-pos but with a width of 0 and a background color of blue.
Then in your program vary the width of the blue textitem to "fill" the progress bar.
The real challenge is how to calculate the percentage completed. If you're running a database stored procedure, then I'm afraid there is no way to communicate the progress back to the Forms process until the PL/SQL procedure is over. If it's a client/Forms side PL/SQL procedure then you can set the percentage complete of the progress bar

I have found a fix after doing additional research through this forum. Tech Note #328730 addresses this problem and it works for Photoshop Album 3.2 even though it was written for release 1.0.

When using this fix the Tech Note indicates:
"Imported image data and tags are lost when you re-create the My Catalog.psa file, so you need to reimport images and reapply any tags"
however it did retain the captions (at least it did for me).

hi there....can I use a Progress bar in forms-10g??? Previously I've been using an OCX for progress bar. But as forms-10g dont support ocx so is there any replacement in form of java bean, pjc or anything else???

Dear....Demo for progress bar on Oracle site shows only the code which we should write in a procedure and behind a push button to start and run progress bar. But what is n where is that progress bar in actual? is it a text field or what? is there no sample fmb of this progress bar like that of Timer Bean and autocompletion combo box???

Okay, got it. Please try this:
In order to hide the WINDOW option from the menu you must use a custom menu.Add a menu item to your menu and name it WINDOW. Set its visible property to NO. This can be done on the property palette or set programmatically using SET_MENU_ITEM_PROPERTY.
On older versions there was a bug that forced you to set it in the code, but that appears to be resolved. If you find that it doesn't work by setting it in the property
palette try setting it in the code (WHEN-NEW-FORM-INSTANCE).

Process an Interactive Form in a function module or method

Hello,
If I process an interactive form in a report everthing works fine. But when I execute the same coding in a function module or method nothing works! The call of the function module fm_name returns sy-subrc = 1 (usage error).
I believe that function call of 'FP_JOB_OPEN' cause the problems. I can't spool this job in an function module or method.
What can I do for using interactive Forms in a method.
If anybody had the same problem a piece of of coding will help.

Direct link from Premiere Pro to Speedgrade won't open and stops at the post processing bar.

I've just installed the new version of Speedgrade and every time I try to open a direct link from Premiere Pro to Speedgrade, it opens and starts to load, but when the post processing bar appears it stops there and doesn't open, I've gone back to the original versions of both programmes and that same thing happens, HLEP!

1. I am using third party plug ins, and I understand that might be causing an issue, but I've also tried opening a new project with nothing in it at all, and that won't open.
2. Premiere Pro quits after the project loading bar or after I create a new project.
3. I used a lot of files! mov, mts, psd, ai, png, jpeg, and AE compositions through dynamic link.
4. The project has about five sequences. They range from 1 minute to 4 minutes.

I created one executeCommand it will get the data from R/3 and insert into SQL db. It will take 3min time to execute completely. Mean while i want to show on process bar. This iCommand applet will execute after click event of the button in the webpage.

Can a workflow process continue from form trigger?

in my workflow project i have launched a workflow process from a form.in the process there is a notification from which i can open a form for further modification of data .currently i am continuing this particular process by pressing an 'updated' button in the notification after updating the data from form. if not updated it'll send that notification back again.can i do the same functionality through a button say 'updated' in the form called from the notification?
ie i want to continue my process from my custom form called from notification,not by responding the notification's button itself .
anyway i have completed the project succesfully.if anybody needs any help related to the functionalities noted above ( like 1.launching workflow from form or concurrent program
2.opening(querying a custom form with particular data) a custom form from notification.
3.submitting concurrent program from a workflow process ) can contact me at [email protected]

When we consider that email is simply a communications protocol being leveraged by the workflow, it becomes clear that the problem most likely lies in the email enablement of your Archive list. If your Archive list is indeed identical to the Requests
list, then I would take a look at configuration for email on that list as it probably isn't configured correctly. Additionally, you may wish to double check the email alias you're using in the workflow. Sending email to the wrong email address
is just a slip of the keyboard but can result in many hours of debugging. Ultimately, I would recommend tracking the email through Exchange logs to see if it's received and sent correctly.

No process defined for form appraisal template

when in IMG path "define tabs and process configuration for template", on the "process configuration tab", I enter data and click Save. I now get the warning message "No process defined for form ..." as a consequence I cannot perform my configuration. the process is not showing up. and no phases/steps can be assigned to the process for configuration.

ITunes 7.0.2 process bar error

I just installed 7.0.2.16 and it appears to be running fine. It recognized my Gen5 without a problem.
I also updated the software on my Gen5 as well.
I started to update my album covers and started to have a problem. The player wouldn't work. I click on the play button and the song registers, but the process bar just reads 0:00 and doesn't move forward. I can drag it forward, but then it just stays there - locked up.
I pulled up MS's player and opened a file in it, and it seemed to work fine. Music played through it.
I shut down my computer and restarted after the instal, I've also shut down and restarted iTunes since then as well.
No dice.

OK, nevermind.
I rebooted and restarted iTunes again. And now it works.

If you don't use the default toolbar, you should have a canvas on which the toolbar is placed. You can hide that using set_canvas_property.

SAP_PA backend service EXPECTS either a hardcoded/configured subtype OR a "*" for all available subtypes (which won't work in your case). What you "could" do is get creative with "rules" and check if values are entered, and then if so, do the operation for your subtype.
What you will need to do, which is what I do a LOT because of issues with SAP_PA is to actually make you update/changes in a backend function module (triggered in workflow). Now, things get a bit more complicated.....
Priod to EhP3, you could just call the ol' infotype operations function module in your own FM to do the change. However, from EhP3 and onward, you will need to do this via classes (same used by decoupled infotype framework.
Soooooo......time to get creative with your solution.
