Process chain doesn't even with errors in bacrground processes

Hi experts,
I need your help again.
My client is using a process chain to automate the consolidation process in SEM-BCS. This is done using variants of programs UCBATCH01 and UCBATCH11.
The problem now is that the process chain doesnu2019t stop even though the steps have errors. The validation tasks are the best example.
Do you know a way to make the process chain stop?
Best regards
João Arvanas,

Hi Marsy,
I'm having the same issue as discussed in this thread and since I am still very new in BCS I have some additional question
1. Is the status table for task that you are referring to = /1SEM/UCS001USV1 ?
2. I read in another source that status table only store the latest run log ? not historical ? is that true or would you might be aware of a historical table ?
3. The table split cons area task run status into each of the cons unit, so if one of them has error, basically the task error
Thank You,

  • Check syntax of process chain get three variants with yellow color

When I click the "Checking View" picture icon to check the syntax of process chain, find there are three variants with yellow color.  All the displaying msgs of the three yellow color variants says:
There must be a type "Read PSA and Update Data Target" process behind process "Execute InfoPackage" var.ZPAK_3WN4PJ43QNW7DC2Z3ZV532ZFF in the chain
What does this mean?  Do we have to take care of the three yellow color errors?
    Thanks

    Hi Kevin,
Sometimes you need to instruct process chains explicitly. Even though you have it mentione din your InfoPackage, still it needs another process (and variant) to load from the PSA to the data target. In the RSPC screen where all the processes are listed on the left hand side, under Load Processes and Post Processing, you will find Read PSA and Update Data Target as the second process.
    Hope this helps...

  • XIF or BDoc Trigger even with errors in Business Document

    Hello Experts,
I am stuck in an issue regarding BDoc trigger. My query is as per my understanding, if a business document like Sales order or Opportunity is in error but is saved, there is no BDoc triggered. Please correct if I am wrong.
My actual Requirement is to trigger BDoc and thus XIF IDOC if Opporutnity is saved even with error.
Do we have a method for this apporach.
    Please assist.
    Thx,
    Ravi

    Hey Luis,
    Thanks for your assistance.
I assumed this functionality will haunt me. Can you suggest any workaround. The XIF IDOC will not get send also because internally they are connected to BDoc adapter itself.
Do we have any method to trigger XIF IDOC by some logic etc.
    Thx,
    Ravi

  • Process chain doesn't trigger the failed process untill we manually do it.

    Hi,
We have set up the process chain send a successful and error messages to our cell id and emails. Some time the process chain fails but does not triggers the error message unless we manually go into the logs (next day) and trigger it. Was wondering if any one had faced a similar kind of issue?
    Any way to fix this?

  • Process chain doesn't trigger an action with an incorrect event.

    Hello everybody,
I have a problem with process chains. I connected two process, process two must run if process one fails, and i must receive a message that inform the failure of process one.
When i execute my process chain, the jobs are launched. The job for process one is canceled due to the failure, so the job for process two must be launched, but this doesn't occur.
Could you help me with this problem please?

  • UTF-8 file via process chain doesn't load

    Hello all!
I've a big problem. I try to load a UTF-8 file via process chain. I have a script which generate the correct name and the process chain will load the file daily. The file format is UTF-8. I've created a info package with the adapter OPEN_DS load text type file from application server and the character set is 4110 (Unicode UTF-8) but it doesn't work. I try it directly - not via routine - and it works perfect but I can't load with the adapter GUI-UPLOAD load text type file from local workstation via process chain.
I switched the code page back to 1100 sap internal ISO 8859-1 but with this settings I have a lot strange chars in my texts. Any solutions?
    Regards, Thomas

  • Is a save step neccessary in a Process Chain when loading hierarchies with an ABAP program?

We are loading hierarchies using the ABAP routine found here in the SDN.
We have come accross the issue where the process chain loads successfully, but does not update the hierarchy (this problem is documented in the SDN).  It is not a consistent issue, but it causes problems when it does occur.
OSS note 652856 points out that a SAVE HIERARCHY step is needed after the load and before the Change Attribute run.
We have added the step to the process chain, which leads me to the question.
In using the ABAP program to load hierarchies is the addition of the Save Hierarchy step necessary?
Will that resolve the issue with hierarchies not updating?

    Hi Bill,
Yes, SAVE HIERARCHY step is required when hierarchies are loaded as part of process chain. This step ensures that the hierarchy data loaded to BW has been saved. Then we have to run ACR so that these hierarchies will be activated and adjusted.
This is the reason why even the hierarchy data loaded using infopackage needs this step. This step is not required if the Infopackage is triggered manually.

  • Process chain is running even after the 'No Schedule After' date

    Hi Experts,
On 19th sep, we scheduled a process chain where the scheduled start date is 20th sep, 07:30:00 and no start after date is 22 sep, 00:00:01. The periodic value is 'Daily' and there is no restrictions for this load.
But yesterday the process chain ran at 7. We checked tbe jobs that triggered and found that the start date and no start after date is changed to 21 and 23 respectively.
But the last changed date for the process chain is 19th sep only.
Anyhow, we removed the process chain from schedule. But, I want to know the reason for this load that loaded even after the 'No start after' date.
Please help me to know why this issue happened...
    Regards,
    Yokesh.

I also have been caught by this option once : the "do not start after" is here to avoid problems of scheduling : let imagine your system can be stopped, for any reason, so the scheduling will be postponed. In this case, it avoid, for instance, to load data during the day. It's not for running a PC for only a certain period of time.

  • Process chain stops in infopackage with yellow status

    Hi Gurus,
We are experiencing some difficulties regarding the use of process chains with warnings. Our SAP BI system is connected to an ETL server which feeds us with data from other systems. We have a query that has a push-button functionality that starts a process chain beginning with data extraction with an infopackage and ending in a infocube. The problem we have nowadays is that whenever the ETL workflow fails the infopackage status remains yellow, while our objective would be a red status. To try and solve this problem we forced a timeout in the infopackage. Once we check the log in the process chain it displays a message containing something like "status request modified , do you wish to add subsequent processes?", if we say yes it refreshes the status of the infopackage to red and it all goes ok. What we want is to get rid of this warning and that the status is automatically changed. We've checked other posts and we didn't reach any conclusion... Note 708480 gives us a possibility of automatic desicion but how could we integrate it in our process chains since it is based on shcedulling and not triggers?
Your help would be much appreciated,
    Thank you
    Bruno Rodrigues

    Hi,
We have two connected links in the process, one to continue the process chain when process status is green and other link to red status. The problem is the process status remains yellow until our confirmation in pop-up.
The process chain should be started by user in web browser. So, it isn't possible run it in background.
    Thank you,
    Regards,
    BR

  • Process chain remains yellow even it is OK

    Hello,
I have a process chain which contains many master data loadings.
It can happen that when I log in the morning and check my process chain that have been executed during the night, I always have processes in yellow (not finished).
However when I look these processes in yellow, I can see that the job and loading has been finished a long time ago (in green, everything ok) and I can see that a new event has been executed to follow the process chain.
So why does the process doesn’t finish and take green color ?
I didn't see any OSS note about that problem. Does anybody know about it ?
    Regards
    Vanessa R.

    Hi,
Activate the process chain once and schedule it again.
    Hope this helps.

  • Process chain doesn't start

    Hello everyone!
I have a process chain for loading of master + transactional data:
Start --> Master Data subchain --> Transactional Data subchain
Although the start process is correctly scheduled and runs successfully every day, sometimes the master data subchain does not run.
    There's no short dump involved.
The log says the job ended with 'Canceled' status. I didn't cancel it, that's for sure
My client says this happens about once a month.
Anyone knows any reason why this happens?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi Luis,
There must be some place where the details of the cancelled job would be mailtained. Either in sm37 or in the details analysis of the process chains step. May be that will help you out.
Another thing is that doest this kind of situation happend on the same day each month. Is there a monthly job which doesnt allows this thing to start.
    Kindly check.
    Hope this helps.
    Regards
    Dennis

  • Process chain status RED even though successful

    Hi Gurus,
Process of my procss chain show status as RED though it is successful and it does not stop the further processes. in the end whole chain is run successfully & this process showing red.
    What could be the reason.
    regards
    Vikash

which process is failed data loading or activation job? is this chain automatically executed or some one scheduled manually? in general when a process failed and we ran it manually and you donot get a repeate option then we can trigger the remaining processes of this process chain using a funtion module in SE38, seems your remaining chain ran in the same way, after this also your process chain overall status will be in Red, if it is data load then you can force it to Green ( you ran it manually), so that your chain over all status will become Green.

  • Deleting PSA data  using process chain doesn't delete records from psatable

    Dear All,
We have an issue where by the process chain runs and deletes the PSA records and upon checking that's what we thought it had done from the monitor but it didn't actually delete the records from the PSA Tables!
Does anyone have any clues about this ?
    Thanks
    Craig

    Chetan,
Yes you read correctly the actual table content for the PSA records are not physically removed.
By monitor I meant the entry in the requests for PSA.
It's a strange one for sure.
    Cheers
    Craig

  • How to Stop the process chain if it in the middle of the process?

    Hi,
Is there anyway that i can stop the process chain if it is in the middle of the process already?
    Raj

    "Hi,
First and foremost let me advice you to be very careful while doing this.
You can start from SM37, find the process WID/PID then go to SM50 or SM51 and kill it. Once its done come back to RSMO and check the request, it should be red but again manually force to red and save by clicking on the total status button in the status tab. This shuld ensure that the process is killed properly.
The next step will be to go to targets that you were loading and remove the red requests from those targets.
Note: For source system loads you may have to check if the request is running in the source system and kill if needed and pull it again.
But for BW datamart delta loads u may have reset the datamarts in case u are going to pull the delta again.
Different Ways to stop process chain
    1)SM37 -->Kill Job
    2)SM50/sm66- ->Kill process
3)RSPC>Job Log>Make the process RED forecefully.
    4)RSPC>Process chain> main Menu"Remove from Scheduling" OR
    5)se37-->RSPC_API_CHAIN_INTERRUPT
give RFC BW system name(technical) and process chain name(technical)
Steps 1 -3 stops the chain running in process
Steps 4-5 stops the chain AFTER the current job which is running is completed as sucessful or Failure by nature.
    Rationale - 4-5
This function will only remove the jobs from schedule, which did not yet run. It will not kill running jobs, as this may leave the system in an inconsistent state, moreover killing processes is possible for synchronous processes only anyhow. This means, that there will be no errors with interrupted chains, which on the other
hand means an interrupted chain is not restartable. So for a running chain this function is intended to be an emergency break only. You can use it, however, to remove a scheduled chain from schedule, such that it does not start except by your product.
