Process chain error at infopackage

Hai
Im trying to load the data from flat file into DataStoreObject by uisng process chian in BW-2004s.
I build the process chain like below
start -> InfoPackage -> DTP -> Activation Of ODS data.
Im gettin error at the Infopackage level and it becomes red. I already loaded data into the datasource/psa in BW-2004s.
So how can i look for the error details at infopackage process level.

just right click on the process which got fail means red in color, and details ... >details ....there must be given you some errors find out ...you can find the solution ...or else you can just let me know that error i may solve that .. all the best.

Process chain errors

Hi all,
I have a question regarding the 'process chain'. Here is my business scenario:
--I loaded data into ODS and then loaded from ODS to the Cube. I created the infopackage for ODS with the 'full load' and 'immediately load' one month ago. Now I tried to create the 'process chain' for this infopackage. However I got an error message-process loading has no preprocessor. Do anyone know why?
--In this scenario, when I created one infopackage for ODS, do I need to add the cube in the 'data target' tab of the scheduler? If not, can anyone tell me how can the cube upload data periodically?

Hi john,
There are two ways of loading data from ODS to the cube.
1. By creating Export data source and creating infosource with this export data source and with the corresponding update rule and infopackage u can load the corresponding cube.
2. The option "Update data targets from ODS object automatically" in the setting of the ODS. If any of the cubes are updated by ODS and in the ODS setting the above check mark is checked, then as soon as the data is loaded into ODS, the cube is also updated.
I always prefer the first option cos it gives me more details about the load and you can monitor it in a better way..

" This error normally occurs whenever BW encounters error and is not able to classify them. There could be multiple reasons for the same
1) Whenever we are loading the Master Data for the first time, it creates SIDs. If system is unable to create SIDs for the records in the Data packet, we can get this error message.
2) If the Indexes of the cube are not deleted, then it may happen that the system may give the caller 70 error.
3)Whenever we are trying to load the Transactional data which has master data as one of the Characteristics and the value does not exist in Master Data table we get this error. System can have difficultly in creating SIDs for the Master Data and also load the transactional data.
4) If ODS activation is taking place and at the same time there is another ODS activation running parallel then in that case it may happen that the system may classify the error as caller 70. As there were no processes free for that ODS Activation.
5) It also occurs whenever there is a Read/Write occurring in the Active Data Table of ODS. For example if activation is happening for an ODS and at the same time the data loading is also taking place to the same ODS, then system may classify the error as caller 70.
6) It is a system error which can be seen under
the Status tab in the Job Over View.

" If the Master Data is getting loaded for the first time then in that case we can reduce the Data Package size and load the Info Package. Processing sometimes is based on the size of Data Package. Hence we can reduce the data package size and then reload the data again. We can also try to split the data load into different data loads
If the error occurs in the cube load then we can try to delete the indexes of the cube and then reload the data again.
If we are trying to load the Transactional and Master Data together and this error occurs then we can reduce the size of the Data Package and try reloading, as system may be finding it difficult to create SIDs and load data at the same time. Or we can load the Master Data first and then load Tranactional Data
If the error is happening while ODS activation cause of no processes free, or available for processing the ODS activation, then we can define processes in the T Code RSCUSTA2.
If error is occurring due to Read/Write in ODS then we need to make changes in the schedule time of the data loading.
Once we are sure that the data has not been extracted completely, we can then go ahead and delete the red request from the manage tab in the InfoProvider. Re-trigger the InfoPackage again.
Monitor the load for successful completion, and complete the further loads if any in the Process Chain.
6.Idoc not processed completely.
Here the request remains yellow (in process) and with the same details (as seen in the details tab of the monitor) for an abnormally long time. Many-a-times, the port for communication is not open and re-starting the load helps. For long running jobs, it may not be advisable to restart the extraction
Contact the BASIS administrator to push the IDOC.

Process Chain error while creating index on cube

Hi All,
I have two process chain P1 daily(except sunday) and P2 weekly(sunday), both have same process, i.e. cube C1 is loaded with same infopackage in both infopackage.
Now, on saturday after laoding the content index creating process on cube c1 is failed by process chain P1, but on sunday P2 have laoded C1 correctly and created indexes.
Now, my doubt is wheather i repeat process chain P1 from creating indexes or there is no need as indexes on cube are created by PC 2.

Hi Raj,
There is no need of running the process chain P1, the data has been bought by the process chain P2.
If there are any filters/data selection in infopackage level then you need to run the process chain P1.
Be make sure about the process chains and there infopackages/dtp's.

i have selected my info objects 0CRM_PROD in rsa1 and i entered CALL MONITOR FOR BI OBJECT and then i got a monitor screen in that succesfull(42) it says...in that i have selected 0PRODUCT > TODAY DATE>
I FOUND THAT CR1 LIENT 100
02:04:56 (4 From 4 Records)i entered twise on this and i got HEADER STATUS DETAILS tabs...
in above DETAILS tab
we got a red colour in

1) Invalid characters while loading: When you are loading data then you may get some special characters like @#$%...e.t.c.then BW will throw an error like Invalid characters then you need to go through this RSKC transaction and enter all the Invalid chars and execute. It will store this data in RSALLOWEDCHAR table. Then reload the data. You won't get any error because now these are eligible chars done by RSKC.
2) IDOC Or TRFC Error: We can see the following error at u201CStatusu201D Screen:Sending packages from OLTP to BW lead to errorsDiagnosisNo IDocs could be sent to the SAP BW using RFC.System responseThere are IDocs in the source system ALE outbox that did not arrive in the ALE inbox of the SAP BW.Further analysis:Check the TRFC log.You can get to this log using the wizard or the menu path "Environment -> Transact. RFC -> In source system".Removing errors:If the TRFC is incorrect, check whether the source system is completely connected to the SAP BW. Check especially the authorizations of the background user in the source system.Action to be taken:If Source System connection is OK Reload the Data.

-> Rollup not possible, no filled aggregates available
-> Error when starting the extraction program
-> The process step locked by another changerun
-> Info objet does not contain alpha confirming values
-> Errors due to non activated objects
-> Errors due to duplicate records
-> Errors due to locking
-> Problems because of connection problem between source and bw systems
-> Problems due to RFC

Failure of infopackage step in process chain - Error in source system.

Hello Experts,
We are experiencing this during the execution of process chain.
All the step for data loads within BW(DSO to DSO, DSO to cube) are failing with error -
- Error in source system
- Error during data selection
Please note that we are 3.5 data flow and thus, data load within BW is through emulated data source and the infopackage. Steps running such infopackages for emulated data source are failing in process chain with error above.
Surprisingly, when I run the infopackage manually out of process chain it runs successful without any error. But when I run through process chain it fails.
Any clue or suggestion? We have already tried doing re-initialization for infopackage.

Hi,
When we run data loads thru process chain it will run in background. as per the available background application servers your request will be processed.
as my your during your load time server will be on high load.
please check your system busy schedule and schedule your process chains.
Check Tx - SM50, if you have less application servers, then ask basis to create few more to application servers to process the request at busiest time.
check about increasing parallel processing and default data transfer settings.
go to info package---> menu scheduler--> data settings for default data transfer.

InfoPackage in Process Chain Error

Hi,
I am working on a 3.1 Dev system which was copied from the Production system. The R/3 system was also copied.
......Prod.....Dev
R/3.   LD1 --> LD3
BW.    LD6 --> LD5
The process chain is for Master Data Attributes.
The problem i'm having is that the infopackage runs perfectly when scheduled manualy. But, when it is run in the process chain it says it cannot run because of the following error.
"Source system LD1050 is incorrect; not possible to load data"
I had a similar problem with ODS activation which i resolved by running RSRV but cannot seem to figure out how the infopackage can be corrected.
Any help will be appreciated.

Collection in source system ended-Process chain error

Hi friends,
I have got a PC which failed due to error : Collection in source system ended.
My flow of PC is .
start--
       --Load IP 1
      ---Load IP2
      _--load Ip 3
Load IP4
      ---Load Ip 5.
I got this error at IP2 and so my pc fail .
can i manually upload this IP2 and make the process chain OK?
what are the steps involved in rectifying this?

First try to find out the reason for the load failure. Once you fix this, do a manual run of the infopackage and when successful you can continue with the rest of process chain.
Sometimes, it doesn't help to just set a request to green status in order to run the process chain from that step on to the end.
You need to set the failed request/step to green in the database as well as you need to raise the event that will force the process chain to run to the end from the next request/step on.
Therefore you need to open the messages of a failed step by right clicking on it and selecting 'display messages'.
In the opened popup click on the tab 'Chain'.
In a parallel session goto transaction se16 for table rspcprocesslog and display the entries with the following selections:
1. copy the variant from the popup to the variante of table rspcprocesslog
2. copy the instance from the popup to the instance of table rspcprocesslog
3. copy the start date from the popup to the batchdate of table rspcprocesslog
Press F8 to display the entries of table rspcprocesslog.
Now open another session and goto transaction se37. Enter RSPC_PROCESS_FINISH as the name of the function module and run the fm in test mode.
Now copy the entries of table rspcprocesslog to the input parameters of the function module like described as follows:
1. rspcprocesslog-log_id -> i_logid
2. rspcprocesslog-type -> i_type
3. rspcprocesslog-variante -> i_variant
4. rspcprocesslog-instance -> i_instance
5. enter 'G' for parameter i_state (sets the status to green).
Now press F8 to run the fm.
Now the actual process will be set to green and the following process in the chain will be started and the chain can run to the end.

In the process chain if any process fails then after rectifying the error also the subsequent processes will not get trigger. so inorder to make the processes to trigger plz follow the below steps:
1.Identify the Failed Process whether it is loading or non-loading.
2. if it is non-loading then mainly the error will get bcz of locks.so goto SM12 and release the locks.And Then Refresh the chain for 1-3 minutes
3. If it is Loading process Failure then First u have to rectify the error manually. After rectifying the error in PSA u have to refresh the chain. Even then The subsequent processes will not get trigger. So execute the program RSPC_PROCESS_FINISH by giving the chainid, instance,and variant details.\
4. Reresh the chain after executing the prgrm by giving all the details. Then automatically subsequent processes will get trigger.

Process chain - errors and warnings

I have a process chain that does a full update to an ODS and then a delta to cube, and repeats the same for a similar set of ODS/Cube. In effect it is like
>Load ODS1>LOAD ODS2>Load CUBE1>LOAD Cube2.
It gives me some warnings in syntax check - as below -
- There must be a type "Update ODS Object Data (Further Update)" process behind process "Activate ODS Object Data" var.ZPAK_41PK2ZKDVH74AO6TKHS4LGFMJ in the chain
I had removed the 'further process' step that was automatically inserted for the ODS load infopackage (have not removed the ODS activation step, it is there after the ODS load).
- No type "Activate ODS Object Data" process allowed infront of process "Execute InfoPackage" variable ZPAK_41IKQ9UMLX46YDBPJRK3MXB17 in the chain
This warning is for the step load to 2nd ODS after the first ods activation.
I ignored these warnings, and scheduled the process chain. It loaded to the first ODS alright, and failed in 'ODS activation' step. The error was - The 'QM' status of request xxx must be green before activation (from job log).
I thought the ODS load completion before the activation would have the QM status set to green (as the load did go successfully), and it was green when I checked the request.
Can you tell me
- What really is the meaning of those warning messages above, and,
- Was this error due to anything wrong I might have done in process chain definition and/or execution?

Want to know few more things apart from what you mentioned.
Is this what u want to mention ?
R/3-FULL-> ODS1 -DELTA-> Cube1
R/3-FULL-> ODS2 -DELTA-> Cube2
And you have this in your PC.
R/3-FULL-> ODS1, R/3-FULL-> ODS2,-DELTA->Cube1,-DELTA-> Cube2.
I hope I have understood this rite.
Well is there any link or relation or lookup between the ODS's & Cube's ?
By default whenever you include a ODS Loading InfoPackage in PC, it gives you 3 more processes, provided the ODS has a Data Mart in the system.
Here as mentioned that you have a Cube being loaded in ODS. Since you have removed the Further Processing Step, that means that PC standards have been violated. Hence it is giving you a warning.
Can you tell me where are the ODS activations steps ?
I would suggest you to make the PC this way.
R/3 -FULL-> ODS1 -ODS1Activation-> Further ProcessingODS1 -DELTA-> Cube, R/3 -FULL->ODS2 -ODS2Activation-> Further ProcessingODS2 -DELTA->Cube.
Here either you can include a Further Processing for a ODS /OR/ Include the InfoPackage for Delta Loads.
Hence whenev You load ODS make sure the ODS Data is first activated and then either via Further Processing or Infopackage load Delta to the Cube.

7.0 MD Process Chain fails - individual InfoPackages run fine manually

We have a 7.0 process chain that is supposed to load 3.x development into a standard InfoObject.
While executing the process chain, the loading of the InfoPackage errors out on the maximum erroneous records.
Too many error records - update terminated
Error 4 in the update
The erroneous records in the PSA hold all the same error description:
Data record 47 ('xxx'): Version 'xxx ' is not valid RSDMD 194
However, when the InfoPackage runs manually, all records are properly loaded in the PSA.

2. how to resolve?
