Process Chain Failed for Master Data

Hi All,
Process Chain has failed for vendor attributes, when i checked the error no message has shown, and when i check the vendor attribute , there request in RED which is loaded on sunday(it got failed on sunday) again failed today.
I repeated the Process Chain again failed, and i deleted the request which in generated yesterday (sunday) and deleted request from PSA (delta) also (which is RED) trying to Load again It is saying that Last delta update was Incorrect There no new update is possible
It seems there is no load in (sunday) that is why it is giving that message.
Could you please let me know how this problem will be solved.

Hi,
You need to mark the failed request as "red". Then go to the infopackage and rerun. If it still fails, check the error message in the monitor. In the monitor, click on the failed load, go to the status tab and then click on the error message button. It will tell you the exact error.
Most probably, the error is datasource does not support mode R. (Repeat of last delta). In which case, you need to reinitialiize the datasource. Most master data datasources do not support repeat of last deltas. Hence if the delta's fail, then you need to do a reinitialization.

Process Chain Failed for Perticular day, want to take load from R/3 for day

Hi Experts,
While monitoring the process chain i found that on 16 Nov2010 the schedule got failed then i checked but that was due to rfc connection to R/3 failed then again i repeated the process in RSPCM. But toady in the morning when i was checking i found that for 17 nov scheduled got run successful but when i drilled down on date for 16th data but it was failed for 16. Now please guid me how to bring the data for 16nov from R/3. My process chain contains both Master Data/ Transaction Data and Deltas / Full loads ???

As you have mentioned in your post, the process chain for 17th has finished successfully, can you confirm if all the dataload also finished successfully?
If the dataload also has finished successfully, then ther is not much to be done from your side. Pplease note below points
1. For Delta Loads- No need to worry about them. For standard datasources, the system would have automatically fetched all the deltas since your last successful delta load. For generic datasources as well, based on previous delta pointer in RSA7, all the delta records would have got fetched.
2. For full dataloads- Check the selection criteria in your infopackages. If its based on date, then you would have to do dataload again.
The selection criteria for this dataloads should include the dates for 16th & 17th dataload. Everything else should be fine.
Else, if your dataload did not finish succesfully on17th, though the process chain has finished. You need to do below
1. For all the delta loads- Carry out Repeat Delta loads. This would fetch all the deltas missed. After this load, all the deltas would continue to come normally.
2. For full loads, perform same as mentioned in point 2 above.

Error in Process Chain while loading Master data text?

Hello All
Having a Process chain and having 5 infopackages(Master data Attri & text)with FULL LOAD with an processing options as PSA and Infobject.In this one of the infopackage failed and the status is in red colour,and when I right clicked there is no <b>repeat</b> option?Now <b>how to run this process</b>?
Heard that v can restart the process in debug screen?can anyone let me know how to do this?

Hi dear,
you don't find the repeat option because this is a full load...I think you can easily restart the entire PC (or loading directly the failed infopackage from RSA1), because full loads for master data don't cause any data duplication !

Process chain Upload of Master Data

I have to create process chains to load the Master data and text.
lets say i have Cost Center master data to be loaded through process chain.
And this CC has 3 Attributes like Org ,Profit Center..
So have i got to do the process chain in sucha way that
I have to load the Org, Profit Center master data and its text first and then set the process chain to load the Cost Center if the above are successful ???

GG,
The loading of master data (attributes) for Org, PC and any other attributes is recommended before loading the cost center data, but not required.
The only thing that could happen is the system has to do extra work in creating master data entries that don't yet exist, on smaller master data loads like cost center, it won't make much of a difference, but master data like 0MAT_PLANT, and not loading 0MATERIAL prior, could take longer.
Texts can be loaded at any time, texts don't slow down system performance and are not required for master data creation.

Failure of Process Chain while loading master data.

Hi Guys
We are using BI 7.0, we have a chain which loads the data to several master data objects having a Write Optimized DSO in between those.
The steps of the chain is like this when new/delta loads are started loadin first it deletes the all existing WO DSO requestes. starting it was running nice but, now it showing error as follow
"Process Complete Deletion of Data Target Contents, variant Delete Contents of WriteOptimized Text DSO has status Ended with errors (instance DELC_D2YPRHNFKWTJ27DGHR825IG9V)"

Process chain failed with RSDMD199

Hi All,
While loading data through process chain, which includes master data and transactional data,
the job failed.
and the message is : RSDMD199
also when i checked in details tab in RSMO, i got meaasage like:
3510 data records in table /BIC/PZORD_NUM marked for deletion
also this job runs with 3 data packages, out of which 1st data package failed while updating in target.
But completed data package also has the same message like
3510 data records in table /BIC/PZORD_NUM marked for deletion
So can anybody explain me which type of error this is.......???

see Note 788588 which addresses the RSDMD199 error.
So shortly summarizing the problem of RSDMD 199.This error occurs due
to following reasons:
1. Master Data tables or indexes are inconsistent at the database level.
2. Master Data is inconsistent for the characteristic (RSRV check)
3. Same characteristic value spread across different datapackages and
they are loaded in parallel.
4. Parallel loading of time-dependent attributes or texts.
5. Delta update of an ODS object into a characteristic
6. Simultaneous data load into the following objects :
    a. Navigational Attributes of the characteristic
    b. Compounding Objects of the characteristic.
    c. Characteristics that are references of this one.
    d. Trasaction Data - Into Info Cubes that contain this
       characteristics
    e. ODS request activations - When the chacteristic is part of the
    ODS object.
Some of the above points are described in detail in the note 668466.

Hi,
The process os loading master data is similar to transaction data in terms of using the infopackages.
First you have to load Attr followed by texts and hierarchy.For master data you have to include the process type called as Attribute change run.This can be included as a separate process type or using the AND process.

Error in process chain when running package (data manager)

I try to run the following how to : "move date between applications using Data Manager ..."

I'm looking after someone who used it successfully, on my side after implementing all steps and running the package I get the message "IMMEDIATE RUN: Request to run the package on the server was successful The package is now running"
When I look the log for the process chain, overall status of the process chain is yellow, and steps "modify dynamically" and "clear BPC Tables" are in error.
I can't get any usefull error messages.
If someone has an idea to have details about those errors, it will be appreciated.

This process type is working fine when used in standard delivered process chain to load transaction data.
I tried using this variant in my cutsom chain, but it fails.

Process Chain Message for Run completion

Dear experts,
In our system the Process chains and as they complete processes, there are some messages, such as completion of run for master data or hierarchies...
Then when I run the PC, if I don't click to confirm the messages, the PC sometimes times out...
I would like to NOT display thoses messages.
How can I change the settings for that???

I don't see "maintain message."
I think you mean that I should I click "create message..." and change successful to error.

Firstly if a process chain fails, identify the process that has failed and on the context menu of the failed process you will get an option called display message where you can find the exact reason for the failure. A process chain can fail in many cases. So first try to find the error occured . For example if a process chain has failed due to invalid records then we have to edit the psa and reload the data from psa to data target (reconstruction). Based on the error message you need to take the necessary actions...

Are u deleting the indexes of data target before delta loading ? If not,delete the indexes of data target before delta loading and recreate them after delta loading is done.This procedure increase load performance.You can perform whole procedure in process chain.

yes you can perform the repeat delta even for the master data if the datasource which was supplying the data was delta capable.
You can do the repeat delta only in case if your previous request was erroneous and dont forget to make the request red in the status,so that system will treat like you are requesting the failed request once again where in case you will miss the previous request, i,e erroneous request if you dont make the request red.
when you make the request red manually in the status,the pointer will move to the previous request once again in the delta queue and there will be no chance of missing the delta records.
This process was same for both transaction as well as master data.

When to set delta index flag for master data?

In transaction RSDDBIAMON2 option "Set Delta Flag" shows:

When should I check the "Delta Index" column for fact, dimension, and master tables? I believe I need to check fact and dimension tables for delta BIA to occur during roll up so users can see the newly loaded requests but I am uncertain on when and why I should check this box for master data.

Thanks for answering another of my question. Yes, we load master data a couple of times a day so based on your answer, I should also check box "Delta Index" for the master tables as well. Thanks for helping me understand this point.
If the below is our approach, #2 should be checked for all tables, correct?
1) Create/fill BIA index for cube "A"
2) Check the box "Delta Index" for all the tables which includes fact, dimension, and master tables for cube "A" .
3) Run process chain to roll up cube "A" daily
4) Run process chain to merge cube "A" weekly

DTP for Master data

Hi Guys,
How to extract master data and hierarchies from ECC into BI infoobjects?
Do we follow the same procedure for loading master/hierarchy data as for transaction data - i.e. Load into PSA and then create Transformations and DTPs to load into infoobjects? If so, what is the best approach as far as Full/Delta loads.
1. Is it ok to do a full load into PSA (using infopackage) and then do a full load always (The process chains for master data would be running nightly).
or
2. Should we have 2 infopackages (full and delta) into PSA and then multiple DTPs. (The process chains for master data would be running nightly).

Indicator: Only Get Delta Once
Source requests of a DTP for which this indicator is set are only transferred once, even if the DTP request is deleted in the target.
Use
If this indicator is set for a delta DTP, a snapshot scenario is built.
A scenario of this type may be required if you always want an InfoProvider to contain the most up-to-date dataset for a query but the DataSource on which it is based cannot deliver a delta (new, changed or deleted data records) for technical reasons. For this type of DataSource, the current dataset for the required selection can only be transferred using a 'full update'.
In this case, a DataStore object cannot usually be used to determine the missing delta information (overwrite and creation of delta). If this is not logically possible because, for example, data is deleted in the source without delivering reverse records, you can set this indicator and perform a snapshot scenario. Only the most up-to-date request for the DataSource is retained in the InfoProvider. Earlier requests for the DataSource are deleted from the (target) InfoProvider before a new one is requested (this is done by a process in a process chain, for example). They are not transferred again during the DTP delta process. When the system determines the delta when a new DTP is generated, these earlier (source) requests are seen as 'already fetched'.
Setting this indicator ensures that the content of the InfoProvider is an exact representation of the source data.
Dependencies
Requests that need to be fetched appear with this indicator in the where-used list of the PSA request, even is they have been deleted. Instead of a traffic light you have a delete indicator.
Get Data by Request
This indicator belongs to a DTP that gets data from a DataSource or InfoPackage in delta mode.
Use
If you set this indicator, a DTP request only gets data from an individual request in the source.
This is necessary, for example, if the dataset in the source is too large to be transferred to the target in a single request.
Dependencies
If you set this indicator, note that there is a risk of a backlog: If the source receives new requests faster than the DTP can fetch them, the amount of source requests to be transferred will increase steadily.
