Process chain--failed infopackage--urgent....

Hi Experts,
can anyone tell me why the process chain when triggered has successfully started but the first infopackages after the start varient did not sucessfully run.
the infopackages show in the process chain in yellow status as if the data loadings are taking place but when u go to the monitor screen the data loadings will not be taking place. if you manually trigger the infopackage then only the data loadings are taking place.
what could be the reason and how to make the process chain run successfully after it gets triggered.
i have deleted all the released jobs for all the processes in the process chain and triggered manually that chain but it is of no use. still the same problem is persisting, is there anything on BW part that we could or is it Basis work that needs to be done for the solution of this type of problem.

Using Alert Framework to send email notifications when Process Chain fails

Hi Everyone,
I've configured ALRTCATDEF in Solution Manager, selected the alerting option for Process Chains in - RSPC > Attributes > Alerting, but it looks like whenever any process chain fails, an email notification will be sent to the same recipients.
Is there anyway to have an ALRCATDEF - alert category for different process chains, so that different recipients receive notifications for different Process Chains.

Interesting....I was actually hoping for different recipients for different process chains.
E.g. for our
CRM process chain - Support Team 1
FI process chain - Support Team 2
and so on and so on.
I think the only way may be creating a custom process type and implementing a class for this process type that calls function SALRT_CREATE_API. Then adding this process type to the process chain, with a different variant for each.
However if anyone knows a way to do this in a SAP standard way using the Alert Framework, that would be great.

Sending mail to GROUP ID when a process chain fails.

Hi All,
Can one suggest me, how to send a failure/success mail to a Group mial id when a process chain fails.
I am awere about sending mails to individual mail id's when a any process fails or succed. I want to know the group ID creation part & how to tag the same SOCT.

Process Chain issue-Needs urgent Help

R/3 Master Data Main Chain
Problem Description:
When we trigger the process chain from SM64, the process chain fails at the step as shown below.
There are no logs for the local chain i.e. the local chain fails without linking.
If we manually schedule the local chain it runs successfully.
The error message changed as and when we tried fixing the defects. Each of them with the solutions tried for them is explained below.
ERROR 1:
The error message which we got was as Cannot Activate Job BI_PROCESS_LOADING (return code 8).
Solution tried:
1.     Replicating Data Sources and activating the transfer and communication structures by running the programs RS_COMSTRU_ACTIVATE_ALL and RS_TRANSTRU_ACTIVATE_ALL.
ERROR 2:
Later we found that the released job was missing for failed local chain.
Solution tried:
1.     We created a new job by copying a previous job.
ERROR 3:
When we re-scheduled the process chain, we got the error message as shown below.
Solution tried:
1.     Deleted all the logs which were in running status.
ERROR 4:
After re scheduling the process chain we are getting the error message as shown below. This is the error message we are getting now.
Solutions Tried:
1.    Saving the variant and reactivating the process chains.
2.     Replicating Data Sources and activating the transfer and communication structures by running the programs RS_COMSTRU_ACTIVATE_ALL and RS_TRANSTRU_ACTIVATE_ALL.
3.     Changing the scheduling options of the failed local chain to Start using Meta Chain or API from Direct Scheduling.
4.     We searched for locked entries in SM12. There are no locked entries.
5.     We ran attribute change run with variant for info object Profit Center from the following path
    RSA1-> Tools-> Apply Hierarchy/ Attribute Change Run. We created a new variant for the info object.
We still could not find a solution. do let us know if you have any inputs.

Please reply ASAP. Its critical.
We created a new process chain and when we do a check on it,we are getting a warning message.
We just upgraded our Dev box from 3.5 to 7.0. Our master data process chains, which reflect samples delivered by SAP, are giving warnings saying "too many parallel processes" for chosen server. It refers us to note 621400.
I am curious to know if others have run into this, and if they have changed their MD process chains to run in a serial fashion.
Prior to the upgrade, we had no deadlocks with process chains.

Does we need to repair it, or repeat it or, restart it.
How to identify what should be done and how to do it.

Based on the error occur in process chain step, we have to monitor the error.
If the error or red color occur when you schdule and check the log view, then right click the error process step and select display messages, check the error clearly by using process monitor.
based on the error you have to react.

Firstly if a process chain fails, identify the process that has failed and on the context menu of the failed process you will get an option called display message where you can find the exact reason for the failure. A process chain can fail in many cases. So first try to find the error occured . For example if a process chain has failed due to invalid records then we have to edit the psa and reload the data from psa to data target (reconstruction). Based on the error message you need to take the necessary actions...

Is some one inform me how is it possible to send an SMS when a process chain failed ?
Is there a possibility to paramter something on the SAP BI system to execute this action ?

I dont think there is an SMS option . But an email can be send when a Process chain gets failed. The detail step for this is
1. go to ALRTCATDEF
2. select classification "Process Chains"
3. click on display/change
4. double-click on "error in a process of a process chain"
5. click on "fixed recipients"
6. write in your username (you have to maintain your e-mail address in SU01 for that to work)
7. save
8. In RSPC, take the required process chain
9. go into edit mode
10. from the menu, select Process chain -> attributes -> alerting
11. check "send alerts if errors occur"

Process chain failed at COLLAPSE PROCESS TYPE ?

HI all ,
we have one process chain , in that we have used oe process type collapse for the cube .
it got failed , but in the manage screen , under request status , it is showing tick mark i.e collapse successfully .

thank you, i have resolved this issue.
i have checked in SM12 and there is no lock on the particular info cube then i repeated the process.
the process chain failed at the stage of rolling up infocubes and the next triggred process was successfull even though i repeated the process chain.
my concern is how the next process triggrred and it was successful when rollup process failed.
can you please explain me

Hi,
That depends on the system behaviour... There is no issue in that... You can repeate the process.. If there is no repeat option available then you can on the detail view.. there is a chance that you will get a repeat option there.. If not then copy the chain.. remove the loaded process and add one starter chain an continue the chain in immediate mode...

Process chain failed on creating Indexes

Hello All,
Since a few days our process chains have failed because of an impossibility to create Indexes.
Job BI_PROCESS_INDEX can run for 3 days without any result. Usually it runs during 4 seconds.
When we stop this job, the next day the process chain fails to delete indexes.
If we run RSRV for our infocube we get the following error :
ORACLE: The status of index /BI0/E0PA_C01~040 is INVALID
Our DBA says it's a BW issue.
Any idea to solve this issue ?

I hope u followed the below to check cube.
RSRV -> Tests in Transaction RSRV -> All Elementary Tests -> Database -> Database Statistics for an InfoCube and its Aggregates
In that case, did u execute "Correct Error" (button in toolbar) to fix that error ?
If that does not fix the issue,
cannot u delete (button in toolbar) and reschedule Process chain (delete index -> DTP load to Cube -> create index) to create index ??

I've checked in the monitor screen it's giving me the below error under status tab

No errors found. The current process has probably not finished yet.

The ALE inbox of BI is identical to the ALE outbox of the source system

the maximum wait time for this request has not yet been exceeded
or
the background job has not yet finished in the source system.
Current status
All of the packets from the source system arrived
I've repeated the process and it is asking for seconds...so how much should i give in the second field....

Process Chain failed at Delete PSA event level

HI Every one,
I am monitoring process chains, which are running on daily basis.
I have one <b>Delete PSA</b> process chain, this chain contains only two events
1. Start Event 2. Delete from PSA.
Process chain failed at<i> Deleted from PSA</i> event level.
Below is the error message I got from the process chain screen.
"Data inconsistency in /bic/b0000231000 table,partition was not deleted"
"Delete request REQU_4353ACARKJNY70Z5F11 from PSA 8ZMMOM...."
Please help me by giving possible reasons for this error message and solution for this problem.

Infopackage in process chain failing due to short dump on regular basis.

HI Experts,
There is a daily process chain in which one of the element (infopackage) fails due to short dump on regular basis (At least twice in a week) please find the message below
Runtime Errors         DBIF_RSQL_SQL_ERROR
Exception              CX_SY_OPEN_SQL_DB
Short text
SQL error in the database when accessing a table.
And in job log it is showing ARFCSTATE = SYSFAIL
We are able to resolve it just manual update and the process goes fine no issues but my question here is what is the exact reason for this and how to resolve it permanently or decrease the frequency of the error.
Please if any one can tell the root cause and the solution to avoid the issue in future on regular basis.
and also can any one elaborate what is ARFCSTATE = SYSFAIL,for trfc check we don't have access to SM58 in ECC side
and trfc is fine in bw side

You can contact your BASIS person he can help you reg table space issue. it says used space is 98% and free space is 1.03%.
ask your basis to set a threshold to check the space and send a mail notification to all daily regarding the space allocation and utilization.
ARFCSTATE = SYSFAIL means the TRFC did not processed properly to the BW system from source.
Monitoring object with information about tRFC and qRFC calls that are waiting to be executed in this system; after they have been executed, they are deleted from table ARFCRSTATE.
Are there any hung TRFCs which are not processed to BW side. have you checked it
first check
load monitor -- menu -- environment -- job overview -- status of job(is it finsihed or not?) - check the job log -- ther try to find out the hung TRFc
press find --tyep "sysfail" ok -- it will display all the hung or fialed TRFCs which are not processed to BW system.
if you find the hung TID with respect to your load.. next goto SM58 trasaction to process the trfcs manually or use the load monitor menu -- environment -- transaction RFC -- source sys -- it will take you to same SM58 screen -- click F8 it will display the hung TRFc in that duration.
select the TRFc and click on F6 to process them manually.
also check the loackwaits anddead locks in ST04/DB6COCKPIT.( ask basis to check) if any dead locks are there they will take care of it.
check for short dumps in st22 if any and try to analyse.
Check the SM21 system logs.

Urgent: Compression process in Process chain failed

Hello Experts,
In one of the process chains, Compression process of a cube has failed. The status in the data target for the last two requests is as follows:
Compression status in Cube : unflagged
Compression status in aggregate : flagged
Roll up of aggregate : flagged.
Now, can I repeat the compression process to resolve or should I take any other steps?

As per your reply I've repeated the step, but it failed again saying, " LOCK IN LOCK MANAGER COULD NOT BE SET"
