Process chain load failure

Hi experts,
A delta process chain which schedules the data to a dso
through infopackge daily failed.
Load was unsuccesfull.
The error message is:
Transfer (IDocs and TRFC): Errors occurred
Data Package 000001 : sent, not arrived
Info IDoc 3 : sent, not arrived ; Data passed to port OK
Info IDoc 4 : sent, not arrived ; Data passed to port OK
How to rectify this error.
And also how to repeat a process chain for which the delta load was failed. This is first time i am handling a process chain.

Is it failing everyday.......no one has taken any action........I mean no one has rectify the failed previous failed loads......
Or you mean to say that...........first time it is failing.........then after repeating...it is getting successfull.........I think all the previous failed loads are already rectified........check the log..........
Actually this error means TRFC are stucked.........check in SM58...........may be everyday it is due to the same issue since.....at this particular point of time.........no of jobs is huge.......due to which system performance is getting effected......and TRFC is getting stucked.............
If all the previous loads are already rectified.............then for today's load..........delete the request from the target after making the QM status red...........then repeat the load from IP scheduler............
But as per my knowledge..........previous loads are rectified.........otherwise next delta load will not star.........it will give a pop up Last delta was incorrect...........

At present, there is no standard functionality available in SAP NetWeaver 2004s BW/BOBJ that offers this integration and automation.But you can do it as given in following link

Process Chain Load Processing Time Issue

Hi All,
One my process Chain is running daily , but after 2 hours of load it is showing Red in the Monitor screen, but after 5 hours load is successful.
Why Monitor screen is showing Red?
Is it possible to Extend the load processing time in the Infopackage level?
for e.g- if they set as 60 seconds -- go to Red
I want to change to 120 seconds -- go to Red.
If yes...where we can do it ...please let me know the steps...

hey hi,
double click on the infopackage -> go to "scheduler" on the top left corner of the menu -> click "Timeout time" and you have the different option to change it.

Process Types in Process Chains - Loading - Repeatable/repairable

Hi,
I know SAP recommends that we do not change the properties of the Process Types for Process Chains. I want to know if any one has ever changed the property of "LOADING" process type to "repeatable" or "repairable". We are keen to change this attribute of "LOADING" process to repeatable. Any experiences, good or bad, would be highly useful to us to take a decision and would be highly appreciated.

Hi Simon,
So far, I have not come across any documents that explain the difference between the two options. But, I believe the 'repairable" would start from where it has stopped in the program calles, while "repeatable" will restart the current job (not the whole process chain) from the start. Please remember to post it here, if you ever come across any documentation on these options.

Process Chain step failures

Hi,
We have a process chain that frequently fails on a load data step. The step prior is a delete index. The data load is loading to a PSA and then to the data targets. The issue we are seeeing is if you repeat the data load step when it fails the delete index, which was already successful, changes to yellow. The delete index step stays yellow and never changes to green, it really is not running. Then the data load step that was repeated actually does run and complete successfully but the step never changes to green it stays red. As a result the process chain never completes. I have a work around, by running the info package manually then changing the failed step to green. But I would like to find out why this happens and can we stop it from happening.

When loading the data from PSA and then into datatargets fails at the second stage from PSA to target,
here if u repeat the chain as far i guess the load to PSA appears into yellow and then changes to green when the data is updated o target...
but in ur case u r saying tht the delte index step is failing/changing into yellow when repeating at load step..
now confirm from where u r repeating ur chain either from load to PSA or PSA to target...
in both the cases the delte index shuld not be running again..once chk the whole design of ur chain,,,

Process Chain load step in yellow status

We are having a process chain with a load step.The load step is run with init with data transfer.
The load step is scheduled for the next time without changing the option to delta update.So the load step turned yellow with the background job log stating that delete the init Request ID.
The process chain is scheduled for several times but the load steps are all yellow.I initialized with data transfer and then to delta update.
All the requests in data targets are green.But all the load steps are in yellow.please let me know how to make it green.I tried to change the status of the load step to green manually using the function module rsps_process_finish,but the status is not changing.

From the Cube Manage > Environment > Automatic req processing > Chk Quality status to ok , chk this option if it is not done.
this should reslve the issue.

How to improve the process chain loading time

hi gurus,
one process chian having start - loading - roll up (3activities) but the load is data mart load which is going to update 11further targets. this take 1hrs. we want reduce this load. pl give ideas about reducing process chain time. (there are no indexing in the chain)

delete index and re-create after loading will surely improve loading performance but only it is only applicable if you do not compress the data , because if you compress the data will be available in E fact table.
Check the tranfer and update rules, if you have routines that read tables, check those statements and see if they can be still more optimized.
In the infopackage see ifyou have load PSA and then in to data target , if so check if there is any possibility of changing to load both in parallel.

Process chain load not triggered automatically

Dear Experts,
I have created a process chain which goes like
Start >> Create Index >> Load Infopackage 1 >> Load 2 >> Load 3 >> followed by 3 more load infopackages...followed by Delete Index and subsequent process like Rollup and DB stats.All the infopackages loaded into same data target.
When the chain gets triggered first Load infopackage is succesfull later subsequent jobs did not trigger.
But if i Right click on next process and click "Repeat" the job starts and load gets succesfull. The same case with rest of the loads.
why arent they getting triggered automatically one after other.
is there any solution to the problem ?

Hi Ellora,
   In your scenario, I strongly suggets you to use the "Delete Index" only once since the data target is the same for all Infopackages. Again use "Create Index" only use. You can accomplish this by using the AND process greatly.
   The flow may be like this...
                     START
                   DELETE INDEX
                  LOAD1     LOAD2   LOAD3
                      AND
                       |
                     CREATE INDEX
Ensure that you have scheduled the process chain in the START Variant.

Admin cockpit - Business Content Process chain Activation failure

we are working in Admin cockpit in sand box server.
we are activating the Business Content Process chain by taking all variants (begin with 0TCT) but we are getting the error message that Process AND has no predecessor.
Could you kindly suggest any thing to move further.

Delta loading and Process chain BI

Hi experts,
Two Issues.
1)As i am loading FI data into dso through a process chain which includes Start process>Delta infopackage(which gets data upto psa)>Delta dtp-->Datastore activation.
But infopackage is picking up deltas but DTP is picking up all the previous records plus deltas.
100 records -- 1st day throught Intialization of Delta with Data Transfer
2 delta records -- 2nd day
But DTP is picking up 102 Records on the 2nd Day, which means it is also picking the old records as well.
The DSO must have just 102 records but it is having 202 records.
2) A process chain in running daily as scheduled , but I rescheduled with new scheduling options without deactivating the Process chain.
My Question is
Will the Process chain run for the OLD and the New Schedule or
Is it going to run for new schedule or old one?
or
will I face any Problem because I did not deactivate and made changes to the Change.
Please help me in this matter.

First query:
I believe that u have used FUll update type DTP is instead of the Delta DTP.. Please cross check the Update mode of the DTP once.
To resolve this issue, delete the total content of the DSO as u have Init and delta loads in PSA. And then using the Delta DTP of the Process chain, load the data. It will extract the total cotent what ever is there in PSA, and later the same DTP will act as the Delta type and will pick the data from the New request of the PSA.
Second Query:
Its always suggested to deschedule the process chain before changing the schedule timings. When ever u do this type of scheduling, just check how many number of JObs available in Schedule mode, if u can see more than one, then delete the older one and keep the new one as it is.
But I always suggest you to deschedule the process chain and reschedule PC with the new timings and then activate the same.

Infopackage loads 0 record in process chain as BG job not running correctly

Hi Experts,
I have scheduled a daily process chain for Purchasing.
The infopackage in the process chain loads 0 records from R/3 and shows green status but data is available in R/3. Its a FULL update.
But when I load the data manually the infopackage fetchs the record form R/3.
When I checked the background job in R/3 that loaded 0 records, the job gets finished abruptly without fetchig any data.
Please find the job log below:

Hi Prasanth,
If the background jobs are not availbale when IP is triggered then the BG job will ot be executed and the IDOCs will get struck.
Once we push the IDOc only the BG job will be executed until then the PC will wait with yellow status.
Hence this is not the issue with the non availability of BG WP.
Also for last one week this issue was happening but today the job executed successfully through the Process chain itself.
Then it shows this is not the issue with PC also.
The job is executed using RFCUSR.
Please suggest what would be the possible cause for this issue.

It seems the info package which you have in the process chain is not working properly .
Just follow the following steps
Take the info package name which you used when your doing manual run include it in the process chain and remove the existing info package which is there in the process chain and as usual activate it and run it.

How to load delta to 2 target ODS 's from a single ODS using process chains

Hi BW Gurus
I am having a current ODS based on 2LIS_02_SCL, deltas also are working fine for it.
our requirement was based to have 2 target ODS on this existing ODS by using export generate datasource.
I have to build a process chain that should enable us to load delta in our target ODS.
Earlier manually for DEV purposes ,i was using the Update data into data targets from the source ODS, this was enabling us to load deltas. But to automate this process we will require a process chain.
Finally , is there any process type in process chain for " Export generate Datasource".
please suggest a good methodology for this scenario.

Hi Ashfaq,
Loading from ODS to CUBE is same as loading from datasource to ODS only.
1. Create export datasource.
2. Create update rules from ODS(export datasouce) to CUBE.
3. Create infopackages(if you dont want to use generated once).
4. include infopackage in process chain to load fromODS to CUBE.
Intialize first manually and change settings in process chain infopackage to "Delta".
5. You can append/enhance existing process chain(loading from datasource to ODS).

Is a save step neccessary in a Process Chain when loading hierarchies with an ABAP program?

We are loading hierarchies using the ABAP routine found here in the SDN.
We have come accross the issue where the process chain loads successfully, but does not update the hierarchy (this problem is documented in the SDN). It is not a consistent issue, but it causes problems when it does occur.
OSS note 652856 points out that a SAVE HIERARCHY step is needed after the load and before the Change Attribute run.
We have added the step to the process chain, which leads me to the question.
In using the ABAP program to load hierarchies is the addition of the Save Hierarchy step necessary?
Will that resolve the issue with hierarchies not updating?

Yes, SAVE HIERARCHY step is required when hierarchies are loaded as part of process chain. This step ensures that the hierarchy data loaded to BW has been saved. Then we have to run ACR so that these hierarchies will be activated and adjusted.
This is the reason why even the hierarchy data loaded using infopackage needs this step. This step is not required if the Infopackage is triggered manually.
