Process chain locked

Hi,
In my production system, one process FI process chain, which execute once a day at mid night.
Suddenly it was locked by aleremote 10 days back.
Please help me my giving my further steps in this case.

Hi Narayana,
You check at the SM51 level and try to delete the entry ata application server level if it is running ,
If it is just loacked with ALEREMOTE user , goto SM12 and delete the entry if you have the otherization ,
If not ask your basis guy to delete the lock.

Process chain hangs due to locks in SM12

We are currently experiencing issues when executing the process chains. The process chain hangs at one or more DTP loads without executing the following step even though the DTP load is successfully complete (Green). Upon research found that the system locks in SM12 are not released for these DTP loads which is causing the process chain to hang.
Once I delete the lock manually, the process chain continues with the subsequent steps. This is painful during night time loads and hence am wondering if you guyz are aware of a fix for this problem.
FYI, we our system is BI 7.0 and SP 13. Any leads towards the solution are highly appreciated. Thanks!

Lock Problem while Broadcasting multiple reports using process chains

Hi All,
I am trying to broadcast 10 reports using the process chains using the program for RSRD_START and variants created in the Broadcaster..the Program jobs start fine.But I am facing the error that the RSRA_CA_LOG table is getting locked while trying to broadcast the Reports..Can any help me on how to run the jobs without the locking problem..Suggestions please.

Thanks for the Inputs and the SAP Notes.
I am trying to broadcast the Reports from the the Bex Analyer and getting this ock error and not the workbooks.
I am also trying to Broadcast the Workbooks also, but could not find the options to Broadcast them. we are in SAP -BW3.5 SP 12, Is it possible to broadcast the workbooks in this Patch level..or do we need to upgrade to achieve this.If so...can any one provide me the proceedure to Broadcast the Workbooks.

Process Chain remote execution locks up (All Dialog Processes used up)

Hi,
We have the following task at hand. We kick in BW process chain execution via RFC from our R/3 system using the function described below. What happens is that the process chain does get kicked in the remote BW system, but it quickly locks up. System monitor says that all dialog process have been utilized. So, basically it gets stuck in the beginning of the process chain. Is there anything I can do to prevent this from happening?

How many work process did you configured in SOLMAN, what is the action that CSMUSER is busy with?
I think CSMREG is a communicatino user to satellite agents and check the RZ21--> AGENT status.

Process Chain that uses a DTP and locks up with CX_RSBK_REQUEST_LOCKED

Hello Experts,
I am making a program to start a PC inside a loop. This Loop has several dates and ODS ID's. The problem is that inside the loop I make a call to FM RSPC_API_CHAIN_START, after this I have a WAIT UNTIL 30 SECONDS command so that the process has enough time to finish loading data. Each time the loop starts I change the name of the .txt flat file that te PC is going to load and store it inside a Z table with a rutine inside the DTP calling it every loop cycle. And so every time the Process Chain starts it should load a different file into a specifyc ODS. The problem comes at the second loop in which through the RSA1 transaction I find out that the chain is locked with an exception CX_RSBK_REQUEST_LOCKED and the subsequent calls to the Process Chain simply don't start at all. One solution I found was to delete the last Petition Request ID in the table RSSTATMANPART.
I use RSSM_DELETE_REQUEST to delete that request using that ID and the cube name.
Now this doesn't work either.
PROGRAM SUMMARY:
LOOP WITH ODS THAT NEED LOADING INTO BW ODS
    DELETE PETITION REQUESTS FROM RSSTATMANPART WITH YELLOW OR RED STATUS.(So that PC can start)
    CHANGE FILE THAT DTP ROUTINE WILL LOAD
    START PROCESS CHAIN
    WAIT A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF TIME FOR PC TO FINISH
ENDLOOP.

I've checked the transaction sm50 to check the available processes and I have 8 BTC(batch), 5 DIA(dialog), 2 UPD(update), 1 ENQ(enqueue) and 1 SPO(spool). Are these the ones you are asking about? I assume you refer to BTC which I believe 8 is enough....correct me if Im wrong here as Im starting out with this please.
Thing is that Im trying to automate this whole process (for loading various file types(headers.txt, details.txt, payments.txt, etc), for various centers and several months...this is why I want to automate the whole process, so I dont have to go manually through all this data loading. So what I did was try to start the chain inside a loop for every new combination of dates that DIDN'T EXIST in the ODS tables. The process chain is supposed to call a DTP that uses a routine to see which file is going to upload to BW but only does it the first time.
The problem comes with the second cicle of the loop in which the petition request for the DTP is already green, nevertheless the next start of the chain doesn't come as there seems to be no creation of another request and the exception CX_RSBK_REQUEST_LOCKED in the transaction RSPC.
Appart from this whenever I try to delete the last request so that this way it does create another request(rnr) in RSSTATMANPART through the use of RSPC_API_CHAIN_START the data in my ODS does not stay and is deleted.

Its a issue related to Transaction data(No master data is in these PC loading).
Any body let me know is there any TCode available in BW to see all jobs which are running on a specific CUBE / ODS.
I mean...How can we come to know the jobs(all jobs in a same time) which are running on a perticular CUBE/ODS?
Instead of SM12 & SM58

Object Lock -- Process Chain --- How to Track

Dear All...
Working on SCM 4.1
Daily we schedule the Process Chain , but sometime we get the Object Lock Error.
To see this error we have to go to process chain-> Log , Steps-->right click , and display message...
This is manual Process , and we cant keep track of many Process Chain Jobs >Steps>messages??
Is there any process /way to Track /watch these types of Object Lock Errors automaticaly ??
as it could reduce our manual activity??

HI Rajesh,
You can get mail on abort of any step in Process chain.
For that go to edit mode of existing process chain in RSPC. Right Click on Step (for which you need mail) and click on CREATE MESSAGE.
Click on radio button "Error" so that when ever Error comes you will get mail.

Process chain error aleremote is locked

i got errors in process chain. the message asks me to go to environment>rfc transaction >in data warehouse
when i do that it says aleremote is locked. but when i look in sm12 there is no lock entry
can u please help me

If it's happened during ODS load, check the flag for 'post data to datatarget automatically' in the maintenance of your ods. If it is checked, uncheck it.
Also you can try repeating the failed step after some time.
If it's a failed load step then you need to delete the failed request first and then have to take necessary actions.
You can execute chain from where it has failed we have SAP standard program to do this.
RSPC_PROCESS_FINISH in se38. It will ask log id, Chain,Instance, Variant, status we give as 'G' the chain can understand that the previous process has completed and the next process may continue.

Avoid Livecache Lock during process chain execution

I have a situation where the DP planners in Asia geographies have a lockout in planning books due to process chain exceutions in US evening time.
Have you come across any such situation where lock out due to process chain execution can be removed/reduced

Probably you have a program to lock all users. You can contact your ABAP team, to change the code, so that the user group maintained in a table (Z) to be excluded out of locking.
We have this type of program in our project, but your code might be different from ours.
Let me know if you want further information...though I cannot share the entire code with you.

Objects Locked by Failed Process Chain

HI,
I cannot update certain infopackages as they are locked by a failed Process Chain update, however I have checked sm12 and there are no locked items showing, also I have gone into RSA1 --> tools Attrib Change Run and into the InfoObject List and ther are no objects so i cant run the Atrrib change run from their either.
So if there is no locked items in Sm12 well then how do i unlock them?
Do i need to mark the failed Process chain as complete or something?

Need help for ALE Remote lock while dropping indexes in process chain

Object requested is currently locked by ALE Remote is the message i got while dropping indexes from the process chain and is red
Entire chain is now status R. I tried by repeat still the dropping indexes step fail in the process chain.

Even check any lock is happened for the cube in SM12. If it not rectified with all possible solutions please paste error log in batch monitor tab.

(a) DP Background Macro is part of a long process chain containing many other steps.
(b) Out of 10000 CVC's executed only 2000 CVC's give error in the job log " The selected data is locked by user XXXX"
(c) The process chain is delivered successful ie green, it ignores the wrong 2000 CVCs which are locked.
(d) The same job when triggered in background as standalone runs successful and does not show any error in the job log as well. All fine.
(e) The CVC's are mutually exclusive, so do not conflict with any parallel job.
Would appreciate if someone has come across such a situation and can suggest actions.

Error "Lock not set for: Generate index" while running process chain

I am attempting to run a new process chain and the generate index steps are failing with the below errors:
"Lock NOT set forGenerate index"
"RSSM PROCESS INDEX terminated, because InfoCube/DSO object could not be locked."
The process chain just pauses. I let it finish once and it took 2 hours and then it gave the failure messages. I have looked in sm12 and can see the lock records when the process chain is running - unfortunately I can't make much of what's there - everything looks good to me. I also tried creating the indexes manually inside the cube and then re-ran, but still get the same error. Before running the process chain, I can get the indexes to check to green, but then after running the process chain they go back to red. I have attempted many things (including looking at other forum posts), but I still have the error. Please help. Thanks

So Create index is getting failed in you PS right?
1)check if any other loads are running to the same CUBE(May be from other PC's also)
Goto Manage of the cube and check, some times it may happen if any Loads are running into cube I mean Load/DTP & roll up may be running.. if so wait till the others Loads(Jobs) get complete then Repeat the failed index
2) If the Create index is running for long time, then got RSDDV--> Select the CUBE then click on BIA index(Maintenance wizard), you can see a message if indexes are running , this will happen only when some one would have tried to generate the indexes manually and it may got failed due to some reason , since u are running it manually u couldn't identify whether it got failed or not unless you got to RSDDV and check. So delete the index here and then rebuild them through PC

How to use master locks in a process chain with planning sequence

when I start a process chain which contains a planning sequence there is no master lock set. The chain stops and I get the message "Data in InfoProvider XYZ is locked by user TIMMAY". What can i do to enable the master locks?

When a planning sequence is triggered via process chain system first first tries to set a normal lock and if this is possible, these selections are stored as master locks and then the normal locks are released.
In your case if some data is already locked by another user the lock conflict will occur in teh first step only where system tries to create a normal lock before creating master locks.
If Administrator wants to trigger the process chain he should ask other users to come out of the planning layouts so that all the locks are released and then trigger the chain and after this the system will set the master locks. Packaging in planning sequence process type won't help in setting master locks even if the data is locked by other user.
Also, after master locks are deleted in RSPLSE, the transaction data remains protected by normal data locks during runtime. Nevertheless, without master locks it is no longer guaranteed that parts of planning sequences can be carried out without encountering lock conflicts with other users.

Cannot update data from DSO to Cube with further update in process chain

Hi Guys,
              This is the message am getting when am trying to update to cube by process further update with process chain.Process fails at further update with the following below message.
However at DSO level i can see the data mart status but no request at cube level.
Error Message:
Cannot update request REQU_D57WAP7Z2WAI1CG5Y5OQ5W7JR in data target
    Message no. RSM1523
Diagnosis
    System checks show that request REQU_D57WAP7Z2WAI1CG5Y5OQ5W7JR cannot be
    updated to a data target.
    The system checked whether
    o   request REQU_D57WAP7Z2WAI1CG5Y5OQ5W7JR is already in the data target
    o   the data target has active update rules for the InfoSource
    o   the data target was selected for updating
    o   locks exist
    o   for a DataStore object as a data target, that the request was
        updated in the correct order, if the DataStore object stipulates
When i check the monitor screen under status tab it says "A caller 01, 02 or equal to or greater than 20 contains an error meesage" and under details tab "Data Package 1 : arrived in BW ; Processing : Data packet not yet processed "

It seems you used infopack when you select update data inot datatarget then system prompts you a infopack.That's the infopack which is generated by system being used in process chain variant to update data into datatarget.
Create new infopack/ DTP manually then use that infoapck/DTP on the process chain variant then try.
