Process chain notification gets triggered on Success?

Hi,
I have enabled the process chain failure notification for our key process chains. However we have noticed that the process chain gets triggered even if the process chain is run successfully.
I am ONLY using the notification on ERROR message and NOT on success message.
Any idea why the process chain gets triggered when the process chain is run successfully? am i missing something?

Hi there,
Why don't use another functionality of sending messages through the transaction RSPCM
In there, you can add the chains you wish to monotorize and click on "Plan Monitoring (F7)" and schedule a job.
With this method only chains with errors gets triggered.

Process chain is not triggering

Hi All
We have around 4 process chains. these are triggering by an event and these are triggeing since 1 month.
We have checked and tried to run them direc scheduling with immediate option. But no use and the process chain will show in yellow and no log.
Can you please help us regarding this isssue.

Change Process are not getting triggered

Hi,
I have changed the first name of the user in OIM but the same is not getting sycned in DSEE.
When I have added the Change First Name Process task from Resource then it got successfully completed and the user's first name got changed in DSEE.
Automatically Change First Name process task is not getting triggered. It worked for me earlier but now it is not working.
Could you please let me know the reason for the same.

1. task name under DSEE process def and process trigger lookup is exactly same(remove if any white space etc.)
2. make sure the task is marked as conditional
3. Allow Multiple should be checked

Process chain status RED even though successful

Hi Gurus,
Process of my procss chain show status as RED though it is successful and it does not stop the further processes. in the end whole chain is run successfully & this process showing red.
What could be the reason.

which process is failed data loading or activation job? is this chain automatically executed or some one scheduled manually? in general when a process failed and we ran it manually and you donot get a repeate option then we can trigger the remaining processes of this process chain using a funtion module in SE38, seems your remaining chain ran in the same way, after this also your process chain overall status will be in Red, if it is data load then you can force it to Green ( you ran it manually), so that your chain over all status will become Green.

Process chain load not triggered automatically

Dear Experts,
I have created a process chain which goes like
Start >> Create Index >> Load Infopackage 1 >> Load 2 >> Load 3 >> followed by 3 more load infopackages...followed by Delete Index and subsequent process like Rollup and DB stats.All the infopackages loaded into same data target.
When the chain gets triggered first Load infopackage is succesfull later subsequent jobs did not trigger.
But if i Right click on next process and click "Repeat" the job starts and load gets succesfull. The same case with rest of the loads.
why arent they getting triggered automatically one after other.
is there any solution to the problem ?

Hi Ellora,
   In your scenario, I strongly suggets you to use the "Delete Index" only once since the data target is the same for all Infopackages. Again use "Create Index" only use. You can accomplish this by using the AND process greatly.
   The flow may be like this...
                     START
                   DELETE INDEX
                  LOAD1     LOAD2   LOAD3
                      AND
                       |
                     CREATE INDEX
Ensure that you have scheduled the process chain in the START Variant.

Process chain is not triggering through event after BW Upgrade

Many of our process chains are event based.
After BW upgrade 7.0 to BW 7.31 we tried to trigger the event through SM64 Tcode. But the process chains are not getting triggered.
Could anyone please guide me what might be the issue.

I have Scheduled the process chain on daily basis at 5:00pm (IST).But its not triggering every day.
I have checked in sm37 no jobs are scheduled.So I have to trigger it manually.
Why it is not triggered. What do I need to do resolve it.I am doing it in prod server.

Hi,
try to execute RSPC_CHAIN_ACTIVATE_REMOTE function module in, it will ask for process chain and continue with execution then ur chain will be activated and scheduled.
Now trigger the event

Set the type of background user to
"Background" up to 4.6B

This user type corresponds to the "Communication" type and may also perform background functions

Process chain Failed while triggering the job

Hi All,
Actually everyday delta request has been loading to the dataTarget of same data source through process chains thrice with different timings.
Today Problem is only once delta request has been loaded into data Target without error. It has not triggered furtherly (two more times)
When i have checked in the processchain its showing delta has been failed.
Generally in this scenario how i have to investigate for know the details of the problem? anybody can tell step by step?

Right click on the failed process type and display messeges and go to the Process monitor push botton
if will take u to the Monitor screen
The best thing is go to the
1) SM37 and select the job in R3 and see the job log
2) RSMO and see the error messeges in the monitor for the request
give here the error messeges so that it will better to everybdy to help

OOB Generate password notification getting triggered to Requester as well

Hi Everyone,
Will the OOB password generation email will be sent to requester as well beneficiary or its only to beneficiary..??
For me when i created a user with out providing the password then random password is getting generated and mail is getting triggered to both requester as well as benefeciary.
How to stop getting the mail not to trigger to requester with the password..

Just check whether this property is only applicable is case of trusted recon only !!!

Local process chain not getting started

Hi guys ,
we have a composit chain which ran 3 local chain when it comes to 4th local chain its says BI_PROCESS_CHAIN is ok
but its not starting when we see in the sm37 is says folloing things
Job started
Step 001 started (program RSPROCESS, variant &0000001009590, user ID BWEXTRACT)
Communication buffer deleted from previous run 487JGCGX7IC6WJ3SE6QEGFH2O (status X)
Version 'M' of chain IMPCB022 was saved without checking
Chain Is OK

Hi DP
Since the local chain is not started, it seems that that is not active.
Goto local chain which didn't get started, check for jobs by context menus ( show all jobs) and if you find a job in released state that means chain is active and it should run, but if you don't find any chain in the released state that means you need to activate and schedule 4th local chain again.
Once you do that, then you need to activate the final parent chain also.
Please try to do this and then if you need you can start the local chain directly by repeating the process from there itself.

I have an abap report which is used to fill a table . This report is scheduled on daily basis .
Now i want to do is , whenever this report completes my process chain should start in BI so that data in table can be filled in GDS .
How to do that ???

Hi,
You can do it in two ways.
1) Include the ABAP program as the first process in your process chain. Once the program is completd the following processes will continue.
2) Use "After Job" Scheduling options to schedule your process chain.
Mention the job name of the program in the After job. The process chain will get triggered once the job is completed.

We have a BW 3.5 system in our landscape.The process chains run get triggered through control M.When i checked the process chains are occupying the dialog work process.Is that how it should run.Dont we have a option to run in background.Thanks.

Hi Ambarish,
Process chains run in background.
Check if your PC is really executing by using RSPC1 transaction and providing your PC name. Check the job log for the day when the PC is executed.
You might also like to check if your system do have enough number of background processes. May be your basis team can help you here.

Event is not getting triggered in the process chain

Hi,
We had a process chain which was triggered by an Event, and it was running fine until few days ago. So I removed the chain from schedule and re-scheduled it again with these details:
File load: every 2 hrs
Process chain setting
Immediate tab: start immediately
After event: "event name" and "parameter name" and periodic job: ticked
I activated the chain and scheduled it. But the event is not triggered and the chain does not start. I even tried to trigger the process chain manually in sm64 but the process chain did not start.
Can someone please tell me steps to automate the event triggering and also any setting that should be taken care off in the info package and the process chain.

Hello Ram, to start your Process Chain by an event, then you need to maintain the Start process of the process chain.
Select "Direct Scheduling".
In the Change Selections, press After Event. Put your event name and parameter (if any). Also click on Periodic job.
Press Save. Then Activate and Schedule your process chain. All your processes should turn green.
To verify, right-click on the Start process and select Displaying Scheduled Job(s).... You should see a job called BI_PROCESS_TRIGGER in a Released status. You can click on the job and look at the start conditions.
When you go to trigger the event, use the same event name and parameter (if any) as in the start condition. Your process chain will then execute. To insure, use RSPC to view your process chain and press the Logs icon (last one at the top).

Process chain was not getting trigerred

Hi Experts,
Chain "Weekly MSA Loads - Full Process" is not getting triggerred.
This chain is set to run after completion of ABAP program.
On 16th Jan, ABAP ptogram was successfully completed.Then ""Weekly MSA Loads - Full Process"" chain status was set to running (yellow). But no job was created. It got hung for more than a hour.
So we tried to trigger that chain with immedaiate option. We got an option "Server for scheduling". We didnt provide any server name. Then pressed Ok button. From then onwards, server went to refreshing state, but no job was created(BI_PROCESS_TRIGGER) and chain is not at all getting trigered.
We got the follwwing messages:

So we cancelled that step (STOP transaction). From that day onwards this chain is not all getting trigerred in any way. We have checked the status of last log in RSPROCESSLOG table, its status is 'X'.
Please let us know to trigger this chain.

U told a program gives trigger to this Chain.............that means the Process chain is event based..........just right click on the Start process >> Change Selections >> Click on After event.......just cross check.......
Now copy the event from there..........Just to cross check that whether this event is a part of any Event collector or not.............this may be one of the possibilities............bcoz........if this Event is a part of an event collector..........then until all events get regisretered..........this chain will not trigger........So......Go to SE16 >> table name RSEVENTHEAD >> there in the EVENT field give the event name >> execute............if it is a part of a event collector..............Copy the event collector name from there........
then go to RSA1OLD(if u r in BI 7.0 .....otherwise RSA1)............in the top TOOLS tab >> Event collector >> Press F4 in the Event Chain(Name) field........search for the event collector name here...............now check whether all the events got registered or not...........
Now look..........BI_PROCESS_TRIGGER is the trigger job............after completion of this job only the chain will trigger......How u checked that the job was not started...........in SM37?..........look if so ..then there will be many BI_PROCESS_TRIGGER jobs............it is quite difficult ti identify the right job..........So the best way is.............right click on the Start process >> Display messages >> BacKg tab >> Click on Batch Monitor.................there u will be able to find the BI_PROCESS_TRIGGER which is going to trigger that particular chain..............u r saying the job did'nt started.............was the Start process in release state............this may happen.............if load is huge at that time in the system............I mean if many jobs trigger at a time..........there will be no free work process........
Sometimes the chain may start when the loads will reduce.............otherwise u should contact the basis people................
Anyways............u trigger the JOb manually right.........here I want to tell u one thing..............never Scedule a time based or Event based chain by right clicking on the Start process........and from there Change selection..............I mean to say never change the Start variant..............What u should always do...............go to the Planning mode of the chain.......Right click on the stsrt process >> Display scheduled Jobs >> Take one Released job..........in the top Job tab >> Repeat scheduling >> Immedite >> Uncheck the periodic job Check box >> Check and save.........
If u do in this way.............the original settings of the chain will never change............what I guess .........that the Event is removed fro the Settings of the Start Variant..........again u hav to schedule the Chain.......
