Process Chain Termination issue.

Hi,
     I ran a process chain, its been terminated in the middle.
here is the message from log.
Process Execute InfoPackage , variant WBS Hierarchy has status Ended with
errors (instance REQU_AI8QGHV5KCC7KC1VSNGPRY9VF )
Process chain termination has been confirmed in meta chain
CE0BOS15OV4H1VDIEVZSFDEH8 , destination 'NONE '.

what is the messege it gives in the display messege screen. if the load is successful how it will get terminated.
chk the details tab of RSMO.
is the load is for ods? then in the details tab chk for subsequent processing is failed? chk the error messege, hope this may be due to invalid records. correct it in PSa and push to ods.
if any thing else pl revert us

Hi,
I have creaeted a process chain and it is working fine in Development.
Now I have created a transport request in Transport connection and collected the relative objects (like Infopacakges, DTPs ,Varients etc)and released it to Quality..
Now in Quality..
I )..I could not see the chain in Display mode.. Once I turn to Change, I can see it.
2) Everything is transported correctly. But there are duplicated in DTPs. Each process has duplicate DTPs..
I dont know where I am wrong. This is my first time transporting Process chains...

also Please write in detail....I did not understaand your first sentence..
my issues are:
1. It is showing 2 DTPs in Quality ..actually it should be one
2. Process chain not visible in Display mode.. only Change mode it is visisble...

Process chain transport issue: variant

Hi xperts!
I've an issue regarding incomplete transports of process chain variants.
I've maintained the variant description & the recipient list.
When the request is imported in QAS, I'm missing the details of the variants. QAS-table RSPCVARIANTT is empty regarding type MAIL.
In addition the recipients 've not been imported too.
How can I transport the missing settings?
Pls. give an advice. Txs a lot in advance.

Hi,
would suggest you to go by this..
in the RSPC t-code go to the chain you want to transport and activate each step and sub chain if any...firsy and store it in a temporary request ....and then click on the truck button the top.....it will take you to the transport connection and there you can see obnjects are still in temp TR.
delee these TR now refresh the window of transport connection and you will see that it's not present in any TR now.
once done just select the main chain and then again create TR.
this time you can see it contains all the objects.
try to keep only necessary objects and delete all the unwanted objects from that.

Process chain termination - Attributes are not yet maintained

I am running a process chain in the production system , which is failed , however the below objects in the chain is completing successfully.
Please see the below msg descriptions

Entire chain now has status 'R'
Process Start Process, variant Technical InfoObjects Attribute Load has status Undefined
Process Execute InfoPackage, variant InfoPackage has status Undefined ...
Process Execute InfoPackage, variant BW Systems has status Undefined
Process Execute InfoPackage, variant InfoSource has status Undefined
Process Execute InfoPackage, variant InfoCube has status Undefined
Process Execute InfoPackage, variant Application Component has status Undefined
and many things which are undefined ..
Have nay one come across this issue , how to resolve this ?

Is there any changes done for the respective IP's/objects used in the chain recently. It might be the cause and before running jst test the chain using CHECK option and accordingly redesign, activate and schedule the process chain,

Process Chain schedulin issue

hi .
When scheduling Process chain to run periodically on daily basis we found an issue. If process chain is scheduled to run daily at 00:00:10 from 2/8/07 onwards.It's released the job at 00:00:10 from 3/8/07.
It means it's moving job to next day from schedule date when it is scheduled to run between 00:00:10 to 01:45:00
If we schedule it to run daily at 01:50:00 from 2/8/07 then it's releasing job at same date and time which is correct?
Is it because of any Basis setting

This happen sometimes when you activate for the first time the chain, I m not sure why, but we had the same issue in our 7.0
Anyway, you can solve that, after you schedule your chain, go to your start variant,/see "all jobs" / and change the job from sm37.

Info Package in Process Chain - Performance Issue

Dear All,
We have some Info Package in Process Chain which when triggered initially turns red, then again yellow, after sometime red/green. These status keeps changing and finally results in green status. These infopackage takes 15-30 mins to complete.
And the info package error message shows "Processing time overdue". The chain runs daily and this issue also occurs on a daily basis.
Does anyone one of you have an idea of how to deal with this performance issue?

"initially time out time was set to 10 mins, so it was turning red at 10 mins. Later i changed it to 30 mins, then it is turning red at 30 mins, this info package takes maximum 20 mins to complete.
thatsy i asked whether there will be any problem if we remove this time out time."
I guess, its not mandatory to include the timeout value. Just try to execute the IP without entering the timeout value.
It should work.

Process Chain elusive issue

The Process Chain can work well in front but reports error in background job. Do you have any idea about this?

Check if the background user (usually BWREMOTE) has sufficient access to run jobs. also check to see if that user is locked.
if possible, with help of your basis person, log in the system using BEREMOTE and try running a process chain in foreground.
this will help you identify if there is any authorization problem for BWREMOTE.

Process chains transport issue

Hi Friends,
I have transported some Master Data Process chains from Dev>Acc>Qty.
When i release the transports they have gone succesfully to my ACC from there when they are moved to Qty couple of Process chains are comepletely Out of sync. I have retransported them again but its the same no change.
Did anyone come across such a strange problem? if yes how did you solve it, Please guide me with your experienc.

Process chains administration

Hi experts!
I want your advice about the best way for administering process chains.
We have been adding process chains because of delivering new models and now we want to adopt best practices about the way to monitor these process.
We use RSPCM transaction to monitor process chains (and eventually many others : rsmon, changerunmoni, etc) but we want to implement automated warnings that can alert via email about: process chains terminated with red status, process chains still running after certain hour (long running or "hanged " process), or even process chains that do not run but have to.
We have programmed emails from process chains, we know about ccms alerting...but still we don't know about which practice to adopt.
We think about developing some abap code with events handling, but we want to know if there are not better ways.

Common Errors can be like
1. SID Failure while loading data.
2. Activation Failure.
3. Idoc failure
4. Failure in Source System.
5. Table space issue while loading.
6.No SID found for a characteristics
7.No Data found in the soucre system
8.DATASET Errors: Short dump with Various DATASET errors
9.Hierarchy load fails with error Incorrect Hierarchy Structure with Consistency Check / NodeID XXXXX not included in the Hierarchy.
10.Invalid character error
11.File not found (System Command for file check failed).
12.Error occurred due to Short Dump.
13.Attribute Change Run failed - ALEREMOTEBW was locked.

Process Chain - Status Green but log says "Termination of chain "

One of the Steps in a Sub Chain of the Meta Chain shows the log as follows:
30.10.2009 05:20:28 Job started
30.10.2009 05:20:28 Step 001 started (program RSPROCESS, variant &0000000049485, user ID SCMREMOTE)
30.10.2009 05:20:35 Spool request (number 0000017553) created without immediate output
30.10.2009 05:20:35 Entire chain now has status 'G'
30.10.2009 05:20:35 Termination of chain has been reported to meta chain D6SBR9M64EV91ZX911UJI7K36
30.10.2009 05:20:35 Job finished
and the Step has changed to Green. So we normally assume that it has executed succesfully. Recently, there came this data issue. This step loads Open Sales Order data from a Cube to APO DP Planning area. Now few Open Sales Order Qty for a material are missing in planning area.
Does this step in the Process chain has executed Succefully or as the log says is it terminated? Though the step changes to green , were all the materials not loaded into planning area?
Please advice and suggest.

This log shows that chain has been successfully terminated. This is a common log
The missing of Open Sales Order Qty for a material may be due to other reason .
Try to get into more details for which Orders this has happened and check in the source system.

Process Chain error after Enpk1(7.01) upgrade - "Termination discovered"

Hello We have upgraded our BW from 7.0 to Enhpk1 (7.01) with latest stack.
After our upgrade I'm seeing our Process chain when a step errors out and there is a next step to continue with always link inspite of the error in prev step, but the Process chain does not continue and hangs and when checking the log it gives a prompt of "Termination discovered"
Gives a prompt something like this
"The analysis of chain ZP_MD_OTHER_CUST showed that process
ODSACTIVAT ZP_MD_OTHER_CUST_ACTV was terminated However the
occur) or a metachain Run 4KFMOYW9CGL10CGCQV2ZL691R could
not be ended due to the termination. It may be the case that
a metachain was not informed about the error Continue run
for chain ZP_MD_OTHER_CUST and any corresponding metachain?"
with yes or No prompt
So the chain hangs and does continue only after we enter Yes to the prompt.
We are in Q testing the upgrade this can be big issue when we dont our chain to hang for something that we want to continue always.
Opened a msg with SAP, they got back say its because of note 1398868 in the support pack, asked us to implement the manual update on RSADMIN and apply another note 1473491 - Chain not continued with termination and "ALWAYS" link.
But this has not fixed the issue, Have notified back to them and waiting.
If any of you have encountered this and resolved . pl let me know.

Since you just upgraded the source SAP system, it's likely that the delta queue doesn't exist for the data and has to be re-initialized. I'd suggest doing an Init w/o Data Transfer and do a Full Repair extraction to catch up on any missed data. From then on, you shouldn't have an issue with your Delta mode extraction from the source system.

Frequest process chain issue - Database selection was interrupted

hi experts,
we are running master data meta chains daily, and we have PP,SD,MM,LO,FI,PS masterdata meta chains running daily, and everyday 2-3 process chains are failing, it is extracting only 50000 records and the requests becomes RED.
if i check the long text of the error message, it is giving the below error message.
Database selection was interrupted (see long text)
Message no. RSBK072
Diagnosis
You are extracting data from a DataSource or an InfoProvider. The selection is made with an open database cursor. This cursor has been invalidated by one of the following ABAP statements:
COMMIT WORK
ROLLBACK WORK
CALL TRANSACTION
SUBMIT
The ABAP statement responsible for termination probably ran in a transformation routine programmed by you.
System Response
Request processing has ended with errors.
Procedure
Change the code for the transformation in which one of the specified ABAP statements is executed. If you are using statement COMMIT WORK, replace it with:
CALL FUNCTION 'DB_COMMIT'.
again if i delete the request from the target and repeat it is working fine but taking lot of time. but there are no routines in the transformations.
please provide us the solution to rectify the issues as it is causing lot of reporting issues.

hi experts,
here is the source 0MAT_PLANT_TEXT and the target is 0MAT_PLANT.
info package load is very fast, but DTP it is taking lot of time if i execute the DTP Manually.
The data packets are processed very fast, but after that at the bottom
Set technical status to green and
set overall status to green in yellow very long time, due to this DTP Load for above master data is taking long time.
how to resolve this?
any solutionz pl.

Issue while loading Master Data through Process Chain in Production

We are getting an error in Process chain while loading Master Data
Non-updated Idocs found in Source System
Diagnosis
IDocs were found in the ALE inbox for Source System that are not updated.
Processing is overdue.
Error correction:
Attempt to process the IDocs manually. You can process the IDocs manually using the Wizard or by selecting the IDocs with incorrect status and processing them manually.
I had checked the PSA also but I could not find any record and the strange thing is, Job itself is not getting scheduled. Can any one help me out in order to resolve this issue.

This problem is not related to Process chain..
u can try this..
In RSMO, select the particular load you want to monitor.
In the menu bar, Environment >>> Transact. RFC >>> Select whichever is required, BW or Source System.
In the next screen you can select the Execute button and the IDOCS will be displayed.
Check Note 561880 - Requests hang because IDocs are not processed.
OR
Transact RFC - status running Yellow for long time (Transact RFC will be enabled in Status tab in RSMO).
Step 1: Goto Details, Status get the IDoc number,and go to BD87 in R/3,place the cursor in the RED IDoc entroes in tRFC
queue thats under outbound processing and click on display the IDOC which is on the menu bar.
Step 2: In the next screen click on Display tRFC calls (will take you to SM58 particular TRFC call)
place the cursor on the particular Transaction ID and go to EDIT in the menu bar --> press 'Execute LUW'
(Display tRFC calls (will take you to SM58 particular TRFC call) ---> select the TrasnID ---> EDIT ---> Execute LUW)
Rather than going to SM58 and executing LUW directly it is safer to go through BD87 giving the IDOC name as it will take you
to the particular TRFC request for that Idoc.
OR
Go into the JOB Overview of the Load there you should be able to find the Data Package ID.
(For this in RSMO Screen> Environment> there is a option for Job overview.)
This Data Package TID is Transaction ID in SM58.
OR
SM58 > Give * / user name or background (Aleremote) user name and execute.It will show you all the pending TRFC with
Transaction ID.
In the Status Text column you can see two status
Transation Recorded and Transaction Executing
Don't disturb, if the status is second one Transaction Executing. If the status is first one (Transation Recorded) manually
execute the "Execute LUWs"
OR
Directly go to SM58 > Give * / user name or background (Aleremote) user name and execute. It will show TRFCs to be executed
for that user. Find the particular TRFC (SM37 > Req name > TID from data packet with sysfail).select the TrasnID (SM58) --->
EDIT ---> Execute LUW

Could any one clarify me in the following aspect .I have a process which is having
4 infopackages updating to a single ods and then in to a cube I copnverted it in to
a process chain evry thing seems to be fine how ever one issue is ther .I am not
getting any repeat option on the failed infopackage .But if the ods activation fails
then am able to see the repeat option on that activation process.
How can we get the repeat option on the failuere info package .
Other than segis weblog is ther any other option to restart the process chain.3

I have worked on process chains..and I too have seen this..that when chain fails..often repeat option does not appear at infopackage step..
but then this does not cause an issue..as I simply double click on the step..open the infopackage and run it..
Siggi's blog is very useful..I havent found another method to kick off a chain from the failed step..(other than repeat)..
sometimes..u manually correct the failure..but the process chain step remains RED..
as per the blog..change the field on the table..so that step goes GREEN and kicks off further steps of the chain..
