Process Chain triggers Automatically after the Transport

Hello There,
I have a Process chain setup to load Transaction Data and the infopackets are set to "Immediate Start"..
When I transport these to Test environment, they are getting executed immediately after the transport..
Just wondering ,, this is what it intended to do.. because I don't want to run them after the transport.. is it something I am missing anything here ??

Mavi,
Once you click delete and save. The schedule is deleted. You could view via Maintain Start Variant -> Direct Scheduling button.
You will noticed that there is nothing schedule i.e. all tabs (immediate, specific datetime, etc) are not scheduled.
Answering to your question on modifiable in Test and Production box :
All you have to do is go to RSA1 -> Transport Connection -> Object Changeability -> Change the Process Chain objects to Changeable -> Save.
And you are done i.e. you could change the scheduling of the RSPC in Test and Production.
Remember to assign the point to the solution provided...:-)

We modified several process chain and transported the process chain to Test system.
Few Process chain triggered automatically as the varient was set to immediate in development system.
Now we want to move the process chain to production. Do we need
1. new transport request with the variant to future date and discard the transport request which created issues
2. New transport request with the variant to future date and transport the new along with the old transport to production system
3. Change the start date in Test system and transport the same request to production
Kindly advice me on the action to be taken.

Regarding 2: When the old transport is imported into production the start will be set to immediately and the process chain will execute. You should not use this option.
Regarding 3: Changing in Test system will not affect the content of the transport, it will still be the same as released from Dev.
We have avoided this annoying problem with process chains being executed when transports are imported by creating a "parent" process chain that simply triggers the process chain in question. This "parent" chain should not be transported. You then set the start option for the original process chain to "start by API/Event" then you can transport the original process chain whenever you want without any risk of the process chain being executed.

Very Urgent-Pls help*Process chain triggered automatically when transported

Hi All,
We have got some issue.
We have a Process chain, started set to immediate becuase its used in meta chain.
When ever we transport the Chain, its getting triggerred in the Target Client automatically.
We can prevent this, by keeping the process chain starter as "Event Based". But, as its a local process chain, it must be set to Immediate.
Please help.

Thanks for this reply.
Scheduling the Local chain to run in future and then changing it after import, i think, is a work around.
Iam sure, there must be some thing to stop this trigger.
And, We have tried Changing the Chains to run Via Meta chain, but, the problem is after the Transport, the local chain can't be triggered on its own using "immediatly". If we try to change it, it'll prompt for a Transport.

Process Chain running even after end date

Hi,
We are scheduling month end PC to run every 2 hours and also we have given end date for today evening.but process chain runs even after end date for every 2 hours.so we have to manually remove it from scheduling.
Any method how can PC stop on its own after end date .

There might be multiple release jobs for thie process chain.
So check the same. Right click on process chain --> Display scheduled jobs --> Here all the jobs logs of the chain will be available.. So check the same here...
As you have descheduled it now.. probably you may not be having it as the first release job might be moved to Schedule status as soon as the END date has reached and then second one might have gone when you have removed the chain from Schduling..
Anyway check the same.. and also check in SM37 whether any other user has triggered it manually today or not?

I have found a fix after doing additional research through this forum. Tech Note #328730 addresses this problem and it works for Photoshop Album 3.2 even though it was written for release 1.0.

When using this fix the Tech Note indicates:
"Imported image data and tags are lost when you re-create the My Catalog.psa file, so you need to reimport images and reapply any tags"
however it did retain the captions (at least it did for me).

Process Chain behavior changed after SP upgrade

Hi all, we've recently updated SP from SAP_BW 700, SAPKW70016 to SAPKW70021.
We realized about a particular process chain behavior:
We have many process chains configured to execute the next step "Always" (whatever it happens with the previous process).
This is the situation which changed:
BEFORE the upgrade:
If error raises on a process, this one remains "red" but the subsequent processes continues.
Once repaired (repeat/repair from the PC) the "crashed" process it is updated to "Green" status.
AFTER the upgrade:
If error raises on a process, this one remains "red" but the subsequent processes continues.
Once repaired (repeat/repair from the PC) the "crashed" process it is updated to "Green" status.
The remaining processes are executed once again (a new branch is generated). <- This is different
I want the "BEFORE the upgrade" behavior to keep working as always.
Do you know if there's some OSS note or tips of configs available to set this as my needs? (we have found the OSS Note 1398868 and implemented it, but the "effect" is not as we should expect for this case in particular).

I've found the OSS note: Note 1473491 - Chain not continued with termination and "ALWAYS" link; delivered with "SAPKW70025" corrections. It seems to be solving the issue I've originally mentioned. I'll perform some tests on this and update.

my process chain is like start--->load>psa>ods1-->further updates--->ods2. In this case I have already scheduled but i want to stop the process how can i. After rectifying the error I want to restart again.
if it is possible what are the steps we fallow pl give me step by step procedure.

stopping the process chain is pretty simple. you just need to kill the jobs associated to them as mentioned by other folks.

There are several ways to trigger the process chain from the another process chain.
Start variant,
Maintain the same start variant for all the process chain which u want to be trigerred by dependence, ie on executing the one prcess chain from group, all will be triggered.
Local process chain:
Insert the (secound) child process chain in a (first )parent chain. by this when u execute the parent process chain the child will be triggered.
Event:
For all process chain there will be event name. U can write code with this event as a reference so that completion of one process chain will triger the secound.

e.g the text reads "I want to wrap this text". then if cell width exceeds after "I want to wrap" then it should be displayed like this "I want to wrap-" "this text".

Let me tell you what I have understood. I will create a variable having the formula (which i have earlier written) in universe. Whenever i need to use the formula in infoview, I will call the variable instead. That's fine. But again, I will have the same problem. If I do any change in infoview level, the cell width is bound to change as it is not the free standing cell, its a column among othe one. e.g.
A B C
1 2 3
4 5 6
(you can think B as the column). Any change(addition, deletion of columns) will certainly change the cell width of B. So, again I need to calculate the things, which i dont want.
Nita_here: I manually calculated that after 12 characters, the cell wraps the text.
I wonder if there would be a way to do the things dynamically.

Currently we are working on a project where we connect to the DB through PI Webservices ,we have used the "Import through Webservice model" to create the models and then we have Developed the DC and transported it to the QA but, even after the transport it points to the Dev PI and not to the QA PI as the url in the Traget link holds the destination of the DEV server .How can we make the DC point to the QA server after transport without changing any thing at the application level.

Environment : BI 7.0 and SP 12
Tranports related to transformation rules are failing with inactive status...
Further investigation on this, I have noticed that in our QA system, where "Conversion of Source System names after the transport" : O screen, we have columns
Original Source System, Target Source System, 7.0, Description(I guess, since no name is found)
Everything looks fine to me with reference to actual techinical names of source/target system...
My question there is a check box on column "7.0", which is UNCHECKED. Is this correct?
My understanding is that, this check box needs to be CHECKED, since this is related " Only Valid for RSDS, TRFN and DTPA Objects ". Is this correct?
If yes, Can I check this box in QA system, save and retransport my requests. If so, what happens to standard BW objects i.e., transfer ruels, update rules etc...
OR do i need to create another entry with same source/target system and check the 7.0 box.
OR do i need to create 3 entries with same source/target system and check 7.0 box for each entry i.e., RSDS, TRFN, DTPA.
Finally, please advise the exact steps that need to be taken here...pros and cons

Hi,
Yes you need to check the checkbox as it is related to Data sources and transformation and DTPs. you can mark the check box if your client is modifiable, if not you need to transport the setting from DEV. Go to
SPRO > Business Intelligence>Transport Settings--> Change Source system name after transport.
you also need to maintain the Source system IDs .

Mapping of Quality System (Source System) after the Transport

Hi,
We have two quality source systems like 300,400 in sync with the development ,to extract the data . I am transporting Transfer rule mapping from the development .After the transport to Quality , the changes are reflected in 300 . But I want to change it from 300 to 400 i.e.Transfer rule mapping should be reflected in 400. What is the transaction code used to change this mapping in BW System?

Raja,
When you transport - you have a transport mapping in your dev system that tells BI which system connects to which system in the QA system for instance
FLAT_FILE in DEV could be Z_FLATFILE in QA - accordingly the datasources are mapped. Also the transfer rules are source system specific which means that you change the source system - the transfer rules will have to be recreated.
Instead what I am asking you is to maintain the mappings for client 400 in DEV and then maintain the mappings as 400 - 400 in the qa system and then transport the same. If your dev systems are linked to QA300 and your mapping says QA400 the same will hold good.. however if you have QA300 in dev to be sent to QA as QA300 and then change the source system .. it will not work since this will be seen as a source system change and you cannot change the same. You could try BDLS and try changing the logical client name ( I am not sure if it is BDLS ) or change the RFC connection parameters in SM59 but am not sure if it would work....

Problem in activating Process chain in Quality after transport

Hi All,
We have moved a set of process chain to Quality system.
When tried to activate the Process chain it is showing error in DTP.
The DTP name is same as in the Dev system.
So, we tried moving the DTP alone in another transport request.
Still the error exists. We also tried moving the process chain again.
We had tried importing only the structure and also the entire flow again.
Nothing worked.
Please suggest some solution.

I have checked the Object Changeablity now in Dev system, I found it like Not changable for DTPA.
The DTP from DSO to Cube is fine, but we have problem with the DTP from DataSource to DSO.
Also, in the dev system when i clicked on Object Changeablity I get a popup like "System can be changed; settings not necessary".
Please suggest me like what must be done.

We imported the Process Chain along with the DTP first and we faced the problem.
So we imported the DTP alone again, but still we had the problem.
Again we imported the Process Chain after importing the DTPs.
So what i feel is DTPs must be there in the Quality, but why we have the problem persisting.
That too only for DTP from Data Source to DSO but not for the DTP from DSO to Cube.

Process Chain gets unschedule after execution

I've created 1 event based process chain
i'm triggering this event from an abap program.
but after executing the process chain, the process chain gets unschedule automatically. I've used BP_RAISE_EVENT FM to trigger the event.

Can you please check the value of profile parameter:
rdisp/rfc_min_wait_dia_wp in you remote BW system. Is it 1?
If that is the case please increase the value to a more suitable value. This will determine the number of waiting dialog work processes in your system.
It is dynamically switichable. Please try this out and check the results.

Process chain not continue after successful node

Hi gurus,
   In my process chain I load data from R/3 to PSA and then execute DTP to DSO, all actions are serially. Usually our PC is running well. But recently the PC will stop after the loading to PSA was successfully end , which means in the log view of PC this node was green.
   I have checked the table RSPCPROCESSLOG, the entry here was also marked as successful. ( STATE = G )
   I have no idea why this PC wouldn't continue automatically?

Hi Ashok,
We have tried manually execute DTP to load data from PSA into DSO. Everything is OK. And as I mentioned, this PC was OK before! Sometimes when execute the failed PC several times, it runs correctly.
   This is why it looks so weird! I guess is it related to time exceed (load to PSA cost 2 hours) or some potential restrictions?
