Process chains are used to automate data load and associated processed.
You can also find a lot of documents and previous posts on process chains in the SDN library and BI forums.

Hi ,
I created a document in process chain (RSPC) for InfoPackages and when i update the data for the infopackage , next time when i open the process chain and check the infopackage document i am not able to find the updated data ....many times i tried but i am not able to see the updated data...could you plz help me out.

ABAP Code not getting executed through process chain

Hi Friends,
I have program which when executed with respective varient Popup system message (SM02 Messages). This program work fine when executed in forground or in background.
However same program when i added in process chain with respective varient. The output is not genertaed as expected (i.e the program is not populating SM02 message)
The process chain work's fine without giving any error.
Does any setting we need to do ???
i have followed the procedure given in "How to
Integrate an ABAP program in a process chain" document from OSS.

Hi,
you will not see in the log of the process chain if your program failed or not. You only receive a message that the programm has been triggered successfully.
Your program is then started in a new background process with a new log - try to find it via the job overview (transaction SM37) via date and time selection. (Of course you can only find there what your program writes to the log).
Another idea would be to check the profile of user ALEREMOTE (Transaction SU01 or SU01D) if there is an authorization for transaction SM02.

Plzz correct me reagrding process chains.

hi friends,
iam working on BW in process chains.
i want to know the possible ways of correcting the process chains and plz help me if iam wrong and by providing ur suggestions.
1) whenever process chain fails , we will check process monitor in logview and find out that type of load . if it full load, we delete the request and we will restart the entire process chain.
restarting means we will again schedule and activate it right?
I refer a weblog on restarting of PC , it said that
Sometimes, it doesn't help to just set a request to green status in order to run the process chain from that step on to the end.
You need to set the failed request/step to green in the database as well as you need to raise the event that will force the process chain to run to the end from the next request/step on.
My question is why will make the request green from red? and also if we the reuqest from rd to green , will the process chain works normally though it contains errors ?
2) how to correct if teh load is delta load.
Iam very much confused in handling the errors of process chains .
can any one explain me clearly plzz. any good documentation for error handlin plzz.

Hi,
You know that the error is in Update rules, so goto that update ruls and check the error(See the complete error message in RSMO tcode for perticular infoPackage), correct it and reload once again manually.Don't distrub the settings while running the infopack manually.

Hi Anil,
Goto Tcode:RSPC and select your load data process type where you have to right click on the process chain and select Select create message,there are three types of messages
1>Successful
2>Error
3>Always
If you already created message then go to maintain message
Where you have two buttons
1>is for Edit Document
2>Maintain Recpiants
Goto Edit Document and put your comment and set their mail address in Mail recipiants.
Note there are 2 types of messages you can kept at execution of infopackage process type.
If load is successful send the mesaage to recipients
If load is failed send the message to mail recipt.
It would help you.

lemme explain what i did.
I loaded the masterdata on a infoobject in a full upload .. then installed the process chains.. and the process chains had the init delta infopack in it .. so when i executed the process chains, the init has been done.. I assume.
Now when i go back to process chains and execute it again, this is the msg the system throws at me. As this process chain is a part of meta process chain.. so i'm not able to execute it .. when i'm trying to execute the meta process chains... its dumping me. I have a few new records that needs to be loaded.
When u say that i included a wrong infopack in my process, the ones i'm using are pretty much out of box solutions(content), so i dont think it has something to do with the wrong info pack....What do u say?
When i showed to the other guy he said, material XXXX is not loaded yet, attribute change run didnt take place, and another material YYYY is still in version M ...
What do u think i should do?

Plz help in process chains- urgent

Hi ,
Process chain failedat load IP. i want to rerun this PC . so i went to RSPC , activated and scheduled the chain , but when i went into log view , nothing i can see , but a message , no logs were found and in SM37 , i can see a job with BI_PROCESS_TRIGGER released ..
what might happend and how to resolve this?

Does it say DIRECT SCHEDULING and START IMMEDIATELY ??
