Process Chains Greyed in QA

HI ,
I have transported my process chains from my Dev to QA, they are all active in Dev and they dont display in QA, but the name of the process chains still appear under the root "Not assigned", And all my Transports were also good, This is the first time I'm comming across this issue, can some one give your feedback on this.
Thanks alot in advance,

Looks like your Process Chain name was transported, but not all the variants (processes) tha make up the chain.
Try creating a new transport.  In DEV, bring up your process chain and press the transport icon (truck).  This will bring up the Transport Connection screen with all the objects for your Process Chain selected.  On the Transport Connection screen, press the transport icon (truck) to create a new transport request.
Hope this helps.

  • Alerts not updated / still grey in BPMON BI Process Chain

    Hi All,
We have Solution manager 7.1 SP08. We configured BPMON for BI PRocess chains.
We are unable to get any alerts for process failures. All the alerts are Grey.
This is what we have observerd:
    1. We get alerts for failure to start if I mention "Not Started On Time (marked for 14:00)" and "Start Delay" alone.
    2. No alerts are generated for the Status of the chain. I have provided Yellow for Status J and Red for R,X or J.
    3. The BW Process Chain Identification - Start Procedure is set to "User chain start condition".
    4. The Alert for STart Delay seems to get triggered only at midnight of everyday (00:00). Is this normal?
When I check the rspcm logs, the chain we have configured seems to have errors at 00:37 and every one hour from then.
The BI and Solman systems are in different time zones in SAP System level.
I have checked note 1436853 and all are in order. None of the notes can be implemented in the satellite system.
I have provided full authorization for both the user id logged in to BPMON as well as the connection user to the BI system.
Can you please suggest what we missed in the configuration?
I had configured Purchase requisition monitoring for ECC system, Background job monitoring for the BI system also. These seem to work fine.
Only the BI Process chain status and related montioring seem to be grey all the time.
    Thanks and regards,
    Raghavan

    Hi,
BW process chain alerts are purely depends on the start procedure you define during the alert configuration.
Moreover if you wont get any alerts if the bw proces chain not started or it started before the configured time, in such case you can use "not started on time" with tentative starting time of the process, or you can use "out of time window" to set the time slot where the chain didnt run.

  • Process chain colour: active/scheduled?

    Hi there,
Can i see from just looking at a process chain in RSPC whether or not it is scheduled and active?
    Hope you can help
    Cheers
    Neil

    Hi Neil Aldum,
    1) Go to particular chain which u r going to monitor in RSPC.
    2) In planned view u will be knowing whether the chain is in scheduled or Descheduled & also first of all check logs.
    3) If the chain is green,it means that chain is Scheduled.
    4) If the chain is in Grey colour,it indicates that the chain is descheduled
or If u want to run the chain ,in status bar u will find an option to "Schedule & Activate"

  • Process Chain Ended with Errors - cause unknown

I have had several instances of process chains stopping for no apparent reason.  The stops occur between 2 master data infopackage loads.  The last step is green and the next is grey.  The PSA table has been updated successfully for the last step.  All IDocs are in green status in both systems.  The monitor for the last successful step does say "Ended with Errors" although no errors are evident.  The process chain starts back up via Repeat at the next (grey) step and continues successfully.  There were no system problems or connection interruptions that occurred during the time the process chains failed.  There were no changes in the remote user profile.
This exact problem has occurred a half dozen times since our application of ECC Support Packs several months ago and had not occurred before.  The infopackages are different each time. Two different process chains have had this problem.  I have re-activated and re-scheduled the process chains without solving the problem.
Thanks for any ideas on why this may be occurring or what I can do to prevent it.

  • Process Chain Status Red, DTP status yellow, DTP is green from inside

    Hello All,
I have a problem where the  Process Chain  status is red, but the process(DTP) status is yellow.
When I right click on the yellow process there is no error message and the DTP is green in Process Monitor.
But the chain did not complete and the rest of the process steps are grey.
After 20 minutes the Process Chain ran again(automatically after new data arrived) and this time without errors and it went green.
My question is, how to proceed with the red Process chain and complete the further process and make it green.
    Regards
    Alex

    hi,
There are scenarios where you need to change status of a process chain or a particular step in process chain.
You might need to change the status in the cases where we need mark these steps successful so that dependent steps get processed. There are other scenarios where one needs to change the status of a single step in the process chain or status of whole process chain.
Step by step instructions on change process chain status
    1. Right click on the failed step in the process chain monitor and go to displaying messages
    2. Go to u2018Chainu2019 tab and note down variant, instance and start date
    3. Go to SE16 and the table RSPCPROCESSLOG and enter variant, instance and start dates from step 2 and note down log_id, type, variant, instance.
    4. Go to SE37 transaction and execute the function module RSPC_PROCESS_FINISH and enter the values from step 3 and enter the new status u2018Gu2019 in status field and execute the FM
    5. This sets the status of the process chain (PC)
After you set the status using the FM, go to the monitor screen of the process chain, you will notice the changed status. Now dependent steps in the process chain will start running

  • How to pass date to program in process chain

    Hello,
I have a program to extract the data of a query (using 'RRW3_GET_QUERY_VIEW_DATA' ) that I want to run in the process chain.
This program is dynamic in that I pass the query name and the variables required by that query. As such, I need to pass the date dynamically because each time I use this program for a different query the dates required will differ. One query night require current month, another query might require current month -1, etc. and be dynamic so that I never have to change the settings of the process once created, i.e. it will automatically know which month it is extracting for each month.
Is there a way to do this in the process chain?
I made the program dynamic (by giving it parameters) rather than having to create a program hardcoded for each query.
I have searched but cannot see anything relevent.
I hope somone can help me!!!
    Thanks
    Richard

In your ABAP program that calls 'RRW3_GET_QUERY_VIEW_DATA' you can define a select-option for the date, so that you can enter this information on the selection screen.
Now create a variant (as mentioned before) for your query and your dates. Important to stress out here is that the dialog to save variants offers already in the standard multiple option to define dates or date ranges dynamically.
So you can pick one of the standard dynamic variables to have the variant always pick e.g. the current date or the previous month.
Have a look in the SAP help for "Using Variables for Date Calculations"
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/c0/98039be58611d194cc00a0c94260a5/frameset.htm
The screens look old and grey, but this still works fine and can be used to avoid hard-coding or storing values in Z-tables.
    Best,
    Ralf

  • How to stop a process in a process chain?

    Hi
I've got a process chain that calls several processes.  It's still running one of the processes but I want to stop the two that will run after (as it is now in the day time and they will impact on performance in our R3 system).
I've looked on SM37 but when I put in BI_* nothing comes up.  Do anyone know how I can stop these processes from running before they start ?
    Thanks in advance
    Sandra

    Hi Sandra,
Just goto the process types that are supposed to run afterwards... and rt click select released job-> select the job and press shift + F6 (from scheduled state to release state)
If u observe in PC now after refreshing this step will not be green (grey meaning not scheduled to run)
    similar for other.
    thanks

  • Folders for Process chains

    Hi,
I need to group process chains in a folder. I want to know, how to create this folder so that i can put newly created Process chain in the new folder.

go to design modeof your process chain.
On teh menu icons, choose the one " Display Components". Its 2nd from "Execute & Schedule" icon. Icon looks like an hiearchy on a triangle. Blue in color.
It will open the "component" dialog.
Use the drop down menu to choose from existing ones or create a new one.
Folders in Process Chauins are actually named as Components.
After creating and selectying the component, save & activate your PC.
Also you need to refresh your PC window to view the component/folder & teh PCs in it.
Saved ones will show as greyed, Active ones as proper.

  • Activating Process Chains in QA System

    Hi All,
i have transported objects from DEV to QA. all the objects in the QA are in active state but the process chains are not activated and they are in grey state. how to activate the process chains manually. are there any pre defined programs to activate the process chains.
    Regards

    Hi,
    try to do the following..
Got to RSPC and there select ur chain by double clicking it, next go to the menu PROCESS and there u have option called check and activate . So this option will first try to check the consistency of ur chain and then if no problem exists it will activate it.. and in case if prob does exists it will highlight the process where it encountered teh errors..
    Hope this helps..

  • Process chains Activation

    Hi,
I have transported few Process Chains(PC) from DEV -> PROD system.
I am not able to activate the same. All the PCs are in 'Not assigned' Node and are grey.
These PC were running normal in DEV.

    Hi,
In general, PC will in inactive status ,eventhough transports are successfully imported.
you can try to activate manually.
Ur second question is ur not ablr to activate the PC?
In production becasue of security resons cross clint will be closed, we can not activate the PC if the cross clint is closed.
Check with the basis team to open cross clint and try to activate.
This just for your info...cross clint will be open via SCC4 transaction...this is secure transaction, use care fully.
Hope this helps you...Let us know if u requre any further info on this.

  • Meta chain greyed out?

    Hi experts,
We have a daily chain scheduled that runs by calling various local chains to run their own loads. the daily chain (main chain) is green so we are sure it is activated and scheduled to run. however, when we maintain the different local chains (i.e. double clicking on them) i noticed they are all greyed out. note this is in the Process Chain Maintenance Planning View (rspc). my question is, do the local chains have to be green to run? or is it valid that they are greyed out (im guessing since they are local chains under a main chain that is scheduled)?
one thing to note is even if it is greyed out, clicking on the logs shows that there are runs for the local chain...i just want to get some verification from my inquiry above

    Hi Mark,
You can display processes, which have not been run yet, in the log view for a process chain. This depends on whether or not the chain has been changed since the last run. If you have not changed the chain since the run that needs to be checked, then the processes that have not been run are displayed in gray in the log view for this run. Also, the link for such processes is marked with dashes if the event has not yet been triggered. However, if the chain has been changed since the run that needs to be checked, then the processes that have not yet been run and the events that have not yet been triggered are not displayed at all in the log view for this run.
    Hope this helps...

  • Problem kicking off process chains using Tivoli Job Scheduling

In our pre-production BW system testing, when the process chains are being kicked off through Tivoli, they are not working.
We dont get issues when the chains are run directly in BW,without using Tivoli.
The jobs with 'after event' RSPROCESS setting that kick off next node on each node's completion, are not leaving out a 'copy' after a scheduled run.
So in the next run from Tivoli, the dependency job isnt there in scheduled status, which fails the chain.
We tried manually copying the dependency jobs on the nodes.Doing this, chain does kick off from Tivoli. But again jobs dont leave copies and next run from
Tivoli fails. We tried using 'periodic job' setting. This leaves copies of job.But then why is BW able to copy out and kick off jobs, while this isnt happening when kicked off through Tivoli.
A node in the process chain is BLUE when it has a scheduled job ready in sm37,but turns GREY(no scheduled job is there in sm37),once the Tivoli kicks off chains after the manual copy.
We suspect this either to be a authorization problem or an issue with how it works when kicked off through Tivoli.Process chain 'context' is somehow not created when it runs through Tivoli.
Anyone seen such an issue before?Suggestions are welcome..
    cheers,
    Vishvesh

    Hi Manfred,
The chain does get kicked off from Tivoli.
But the job fails in Tivoli as..when it tries to hand over execution to the 1st local chain in the 'meta chain' the required job isnt there in scheduled status, with the 'after event' RSPROCESS dependency set on it.
    cheers,
    Vishvesh

  • How can I know who Unscheduled Process Chain

    Hi,
I am looking for a way to know who unscheduled process chain.
After looking in forum I got to know about Table TBTCO but there are huge no. of entries in that.
Above that I need to know about a chain that was unshceduled on 4th May can I give that selection while looking in TBTCO Or any selection related to Process chain name ? Please suggest.
Let me know if there is altogether other way to find this out.
    Thanks in Advance

    Hi,
It is not possible to trace who have de-scheduled the chain....we can de-schedule the chain in two ways.......
open the chain in the Design View --> In the top "Execution" tab --> Remove from schedule.......(In this case the whole chain will turn in grey)
If someone do this then there will be no log........
Secondly, right click on the "Start Process " in the Design View --> Display Scheduled Jobs --> from there delete the released job......In this case also there will be no trace...........no log.........(In this case only the start process will turn in grey, rest of the chain will be in green colour only)...
Now as I have explained the colour difference from there you can understand that how the chain was de-scheduled ....in which method...........
But you can't trace that who has done it......
