Process chains in MS 7.0 version of BPC
Hello Gurus,
I am using Microsoft 7.0 version of BPC, but I dont see a way to call process chains. In NW version, I can just go to data manager and Add package - process chain would be one of the types under package type. But that is not the case with MS Version. Please advise. thanks.
Hi,
In the MS Version they are called Packages and are created using MS SSIS.
Please refer the below link for more details on how to Add and Modify packages.

Reporting Agent and Process chain
Hi All,
We have requirement where every day we need to print some BW reports.
For this we have created reporting agent. But when we execute reports manually through reporting agent it works fine. But if we include reporting agent in process chain it does not work.
Is there something which we should take care of when we include reporting agent in Process chain? We are on version 3.1.
Thanks and Regards,

Do we need to create process chain explicitly nor system generates process
Hi all,
Do we need to create process chain explicity in bpc netweaver nor the system generates it internally when we run data managment packages
thanks
PoojaWhen you install BPC, there is a set of delivered process chains which are installed as well. You create the data manager packages from the BPC Excel clicent based on these process chains. You can of create custom BPC process chains in NetWeaver and create packages from those as well(for example via a How-To guide). So to answer your question, no, you do not have to create the "standard" process chains, and they are not generated by the system either, they are delivered as part of the BPC installation.

Error in process chain TRIGGER_BW_CHAIN
Hello,
I am working with SAP BPC 7.5 NW and I have a issue when I execute a process chain in BPC that call one process chain in BW.
When I execute the process chain from BW (TA RSPC) the process chain finish correctly but when execute the process chain throught DataPackage in BPC the process chain is stoped in one point of the chain. In BW, the process chain do not display error but in BPC the log shows:
An exception with the type CX_SY_DYN_CALL_PARAM_MISSING occurred, but was neither handled locally, nor declared in a RAISING clause
Call of the method IF_RSPC_GET_PARALLELIZATION~IS_SYNCHRONOUS of the class CL_RSPC_ABAP failed; the obligatory parameter I_VARIANT has not been filled
Application: MAIN Package status: ERROR
Thanks you in advance,
RegardsHi
We applied SAP Note to (1420224) to fix this issue. Now I can execute BW process chains from BPC Data manager package using /CPMB/TRIGGER_BW_CHAIN process. From within the BPC Package link, this process starts BW process chain to load data into the DSO which is followed by package to import data loaded into the DSO to BPC Rate Application.

Hi Gurus,
Whenever I try to transport a process chain ZFI_0FIGL_C10 from dev. to qua. & prod. the error “Object 'DM' (APCO) of type 'Application' is not available in version 'A'” is displayed in the end of creating transport package.
The process chain was created to load data to 0figl_c10 and it works all right on all systems (dev. qua. prod.).
The process chain contains processes for:
- starting the process chain
- executing infopackage (for loading data to 0figl_o10),
- ACR (activate data in 0figl_o10)
- delete index 0figl_c10
- DTP loading data from 0figl_o14 to 0figl_c10
- executing infopackage 80FIGL_O10
- creating index in 0figl_c10
- building DB statistics
- rolling up aggregates in 0figl_c10
- deleting of requests from the changelog 0figl_o10
- deleting of requests from PSA (0fi_gl_10)
How to find what cause that error.
Regards,
LeszekHi,
A SAP consultant told me to ignore that error.
Indeed, after creating transport with some new process chains (again I was informed about that error "APCO ...") and transporting it to production everything works all right.
The problem is described in sap note: 883745.

Graphical version of Process Chain Maintenance
Hi Expert,
My BW is running on 730 SAPKW73003, BI CONT 735 SAPK-73503INBICONT
when i run RSPC, it is showing RSA1 menu with extra process chain menu on the right.
Where is the old version of graphical representation of RSPC? Anyway i could get it back?
Thanks.
Regards,
MJHi MJ,
This is new feature (standard) in BW 7.3 version. even if u try to get into RSPC, It will redirect you to RSA1.
RSPC is like embedded in RSA1 and u can use full screen (Shift+F11) to view any particular process chain ( to avoid all other standard options of RSA1.)
even RSPC1 will take you to same place(RSA1)

Sudheer

Error in Mass process chain DP background job for Deinitialize version
Hi,
When I execute the process chain for DP background job to delete the planning area version, it gives error message
"Process DP Background Processing, variant DELETE XXXXXXX has status Ended with errors (instance D973YTQRSF0FRPV5TCR28L"
It is working well, when I tried the same manually with the same input parameters used in background job variant.
What could be the cause for the background job problem.
Thanks and regards

I am not deleting the planning version, I am using Macro in the DP background job to delete or make the key figure values to 0.

Error in Step Copy Plan version in Process Chain
Hi all,
We have step in Process Chain called 'Copy Plan version'.This stet is getting failed quite frequently. I just repeat it and the error is getting solved. I just wanted to know that is there any permanent solution for that. We cant afford to getting it failed that frequently.
I dont have any idea about this step. Can you please provide me information about this step and a possible remedy aw well.
The error messaage is :
Selection accesses data that is currently locked; user
Job cancelled after system exception ERROR_MESSAGE.
Please suggest.
Regards
sunnyThis is due to "Selection accesses data that is currently locked; user" , there is another process from another process chain which locked the object at the same time frame , so due to that this step is failing
you can increase waittime 30mins(example)before this Step Copy Plan version executes in the process chain.
OR, change the schedule time for this process chain -

KKHi,
RSPC_CHAIN_EXECUTE_REMOTE program runs the Process chain automatically.
If we want to change the status of the dependant chains and to run automatically we can execute RSPC_PROCESS_FINISH but we need to give the parameters like Variant name, logid, process type,Instance name .
Thank you...., -
Importing a BI process chain into CPS (26_6 version) from BI
We are brand new to CPS and attempting to import a simple 4 step process chain into CPS from BI. We are getting
9:18:13 PM: JCS-102148: Field "In Value String" on object "Parameter PCHAIN_NAME for job 125056" has value ZQM_PC001, which does not match the list of values.
out of the SAP_BW_ImportProcessChainDefinition
job. Likely we are going about the import in the wrong sequence. So does anyone have a good manual on how to export these chains? the one redwood/SAP has does not seem to handle this topic very well.
Thanks in Advance.
George.Hi George,
The first step is to run SAP_BWImportProcessChain, ie. without the "definition" suffix.
This will import all available process chains matching the entered pattern (by default it will get all process chains of the indicated system).
The import of the chain names is done to populate the drop down for SAP_BWProcessChainRun.
The import of the definition is used for the drop downs if you choose to restart a process chain in error: you will be able to restart such a chain from any point in the chain.

SAPSQL_ARRAY_INSERT_DUPREC during saving of Process Chain
Dear all,
On saving, when adding a process to an existing Process Chain - like Rollup or Change Run - in our SCM 5.0 system, we receive a short dump 'SAPSQL_ARRAY_INSERT_DUPREC' (complete short dump at the end of the msg).
A problem arose on the line 'insert rsbatchparallel from table g_t_batch_par.' of include 'LRSBATCHF01'.
The version of this include is the same as all other systems in our environment.
In the table 'rsbatchparallel' we don't find any entry that can cause a duplicate entry.
We are really stuck with this issue - any help is highly appreciated!
Best regards,
Ingrid
Complete short dump
Runtime Errors SAPSQL_ARRAY_INSERT_DUPREC
Exception CX_SY_OPEN_SQL_DB
Date and Time 08.10.2007 16:56:50
Short text
The ABAP/4 Open SQL array insert results in duplicate database records.
What happened?
Error in the ABAP Application Program
The current ABAP program "SAPLRSBATCH" had to be terminated because it has
come across a statement that unfortunately cannot be executed.
What can you do?
Note down which actions and inputs caused the error.
To process the problem further, contact you SAP system
administrator.
Using Transaction ST22 for ABAP Dump Analysis, you can look
at and manage termination messages, and you can also
keep them for a long time.
Error analysis
An exception occurred that is explained in detail below.
The exception, which is assigned to class 'CX_SY_OPEN_SQL_DB', was not caught
in
procedure "SAVE_SETTINGS" "(FORM)", nor was it propagated by a RAISING clause.
Since the caller of the procedure could not have anticipated that the
exception would occur, the current program is terminated.
The reason for the exception is:
If you use an ABAP/4 Open SQL array insert to insert a record in
the database and that record already exists with the same key,
this results in a termination.
(With an ABAP/4 Open SQL single record insert in the same error
situation, processing does not terminate, but SY-SUBRC is set to 4.)
How to correct the error
Use an ABAP/4 Open SQL array insert only if you are sure that none of
the records passed already exists in the database.
If the error occures in a non-modified SAP program, you may be able to
find an interim solution in an SAP Note.
If you have access to SAP Notes, carry out a search with the following
keywords:
"SAPSQL_ARRAY_INSERT_DUPREC" "CX_SY_OPEN_SQL_DB"
"SAPLRSBATCH" or "LRSBATCHF01"
"SAVE_SETTINGS"
If you cannot solve the problem yourself and want to send an error
notification to SAP, include the following information:
1. The description of the current problem (short dump)
To save the description, choose "System->List->Save->Local File
(Unconverted)".
2. Corresponding system log
Display the system log by calling transaction SM21.
Restrict the time interval to 10 minutes before and five minutes
after the short dump. Then choose "System->List->Save->Local File
(Unconverted)".
3. If the problem occurs in a problem of your own or a modified SAP
program: The source code of the program
In the editor, choose "Utilities->More
Utilities->Upload/Download->Download".
4. Details about the conditions under which the error occurred or which
actions and input led to the error.
The exception must either be prevented, caught within proedure
"SAVE_SETTINGS" "(FORM)", or its possible occurrence must be declared in the
RAISING clause of the procedure.
To prevent the exception, note the following:

Information on where terminated
Termination occurred in the ABAP program "SAPLRSBATCH" - in "SAVE_SETTINGS".
The main program was "RSPC_MAINTAIN ".
In the source code you have the termination point in line 1082
of the (Include) program "LRSBATCHF01".
The termination is caused because exception "CX_SY_OPEN_SQL_DB" occurred in

declared
in the RAISING clause of its signature.
The procedure is in program "SAPLRSBATCH "; its source code begins in line
