Process Chains - Incompletion Status

Hi,
I am having regular scheduled process chain. In the chain log, At the middle of the chain, chain was showing green, rest of the chain was showing gray color. But i can see rest of the data loads completed after checking the data targets manually.
Can you please tell me the reason, why the rest of the process chain is not showing complete status (Green status) in log view?

The reason may be becose...
The chain was ran twice....
When the Chain PC ran twice .. the PC gets hang.. there is a note on this issue...
Please serach the note witht he Key word : "Process chain hangs"..
And there is a Big discussin which was raised by Pradep Patil.. please search once.. that thread . u will get lot if info...

Help! about process chain execution status

hi:
we nearly have one problem about the process chain execution status,
when error occured during process chian execution, we fixed it in time,
however, even the error repaired, its status still showed yellow, and this
stop the subsequent process to excute.

Try this method
Open the messages of a failed step by right clicking on it and selecting 'display messages'.
In the opened popup click on the tab 'Chain'.
In a parallel session goto transaction se16 for table rspcprocesslog and display the entries with the following selections:
1. copy the variant from the popup to the variante of table rspcprocesslog
2. copy the instance from the popup to the instance of table rspcprocesslog
3. copy the start date from the popup to the batchdate of table rspcprocesslog
Press F8 to display the entries of table rspcprocesslog.
Now open another session and goto transaction se37. Enter RSPC_PROCESS_FINISH as the name of the function module and run the fm in test mode.
Now copy the entries of table rspcprocesslog to the input parameters of the function module like
described as follows:
1. rspcprocesslog-log_id -> i_logid
2. rspcprocesslog-type -> i_type
3. rspcprocesslog-variante -> i_variant
4. rspcprocesslog-instance -> i_instance
5. enter 'G' for parameter i_state (sets the status to green).
Now press F8 to run the fm.
Now the actual process will be set to green and the following process in the chain will be started and the chain can run to the end.

How to stop the process chain showing status as yellow but no process step

Dear Friends,
How to stop the process chain showing status as yellow but no process step is running in that process chain.
We have manually triggered the process chain for sales it finished successfully till load data but the next step is create index and DB statistics. Both of this steps are in unscheduled position only and no background job for this.
Please guide me.

Process Chain step status

Hello All,
In one of our process chain , we have an AND step, where in its checks its 4 preeceding steps, its all 4 are green,the AND Step executes and it goes to the next step.
Chain is running fine since many years. But yesterday , we faced the issue that even if the preeceding steps were green, the AND step status showed Completed rather it should show Successfully Completed.
So we had to manually change the status to Successfully Completed and it went fine.
We check with the Basis also, the system was fine during that point.
Any pointers why the step did not get the Status as Successfully Completed.

You can find the necessary logs & status of the process chains in the RSPCLOGCHAIN table.
Let's know the status.
Also check in table RSPCPROCESSLOG

Setup to leave requisition for outside processing in 'Incomplete' status

We are trying to implement outside processing, and the requisitions are automatically generated, but they are all in Approved status. Is there any setup/ profile option I can set to leave the requisitions in Incomplete status? Thanks

I don't think it was using WF. When the work order was released, Oracle inserted the data immediately into the po_requisitions_interface_all and then launched the requisitions import program. But when it inserted the record, it inserted with the authorization_status as 'Approved'. So when the requisition import ran it created the requisition with approved status.
There is a profile option INV: Minmax Reorder Approval that can control the status of the requisitions created using minmax. I thought there might be a profile option to control the status of requisitions created using outside processing, but seems like it does not exist.
Another solution would be to create a trigger on the po_requisitions_interface_all table to set the status to 'Incomplete' for all requsiition lines. Since we have a policy to create requisitions iin ncomplete status by any automated processes it might work.

I am runnig a process chain.one of the process is activation of DSO.it is succesful.i can see the sucees message in disply messags and manage of the dso i can see the bex symbol.but the process is in yellow for long time.and next process is in waiting..i dont have authoriation to run RSPC_PROCESS_FINISH functional module.
what could be thereason and how go head..

For your issue please check whether the overall status is green or still is in processing?
If it is green in moniter screen then we can forcebly make it as green and then proceed further.
If it is a process chain issue then its mandat to have authorization to execute RSPC_PROCESS_FINISH.

Process chain overall status red - single processes green

I'm monitoring a process chain in RSPCM. Some of the steps within the chain went red during the run but went green after repeating those steps. But now my overall status of the chain is still red. How can I set the overall status of a process chain without rerunning it? I don't want to set the status of a single process step but the overall status of the process chain as all steps of the chain are green now.

If you process chain is designed like
Ex: ZABC
Start-->Local Process chain
And assuming if any process failed inside teh local process chain , the entire Local process chain will be in Red, If you want forcefully change this ZABC chain, then
Goto Log view and Docuble click on the Local Process chain>Goto Chain tab>Copy the Variant and Instance
Goto Se11--> RSPCPROCESSLOG >Pass the copied Variant and Instance here and then execute>Copy the Log id from generated table entry
Now got Se37--> rspc_process_finish -->Enter the copied Variant , Instance , Log id , I_Type , I_State ('G' For Sucessfuly completed) and execute. Now the Local process chian will turn to Green and then the entire PC will in turn green(since this chain has only start process and Local process types, where as start process type is already in Green colour)
Or if you chain is designed like
Start>IP>Delete index>DTPCreate index...
Then Copy the variant and instance of the Last process type in the process chain and the same procedure as mentioned above

Process chain failure, Status F already registered to instance

Hello - Can anyone provide any insight into this problem with process chains? Our BI_PROCESS_TRIGGER jobs failed with the following message:

How to add Abap program in process chain to check the another process chain status and do accordingly

Hello All,
My requirement is related to process chain 1 . I have one process chain in that i have to put abap program in middle of that chain . This program will check the status of one another process chain 2 status ( whether it was completed or it is going on). if it is completed then continue the Process chain 1 to further activity else wait to complete Process chain 2 .
Here i have to use process chain 2 as a parameter.
Kindly provide me solution .

You need to create ABAP program in which you check the values for required process chain in
following table
RSPCLOGCHAIN (Feilds ANALYZED_STATUS LOG_ID)
Depend on values you can trigger next process or you can wait unitil this process chain complete.you need to check status from table using ABAP.
If you are not aware about how to write ABAP program then take help from ABAP Team.

Status of process chain

hi all,
This is the scenario. I have a badi in ecc in which i save the new projects and after saving a project it triggers a job in ecc ,which in turns trigger the process chain.When i try to save several projects in ecc in quick succession, say 3 projects A,B,C then there are 3 jobs which are active in ecc,which inturns triggers the process chain 3 times and hence the p.c gets locked and fails.
In the badi, we had rfc fm which checks the status of the process chain whether its ACTIVE from rspcprocesslog table and then if the status become to G:successfully completed, the second job shold trigger.however its not working.
in the rspcprocesslog(BI side), we find that the status field in the table is having only two values F:completed or G:successsfully completed, whereas other values such as ACTIVE ,cancelled are not getting stored.
so i would like to know
1. whether this table holds only G or F values and why the status like Active or cancelled is not gettin g stored.?
2. apart from these tables what is the method by which i can know the status of process chain or status of thelast process of the chain can be found.?
3. is there any way to check for the information we get in sm 37 job log in BI side for the last process present in the process chain? *is the job log stored in some table ,if so what is the table name?*
so can anyone please suggest to make the second job in ecc to get scheduled only when the process chain which got triggered for the first job is completed other than the two mentioned(rspcprocesslog, and job log)?

You can find the necessary logs & status of the process chains in the RSPCLOGCHAIN table.
ANALYZED_STATUS field stores the values of process status.
G -> Completed
R -> Ended with errors
A -> Active
X -> Cancelled.

Process Chain Status Red, DTP status yellow, DTP is green from inside

Hello All,
I have a problem where the Process Chain status is red, but the process(DTP) status is yellow.
When I right click on the yellow process there is no error message and the DTP is green in Process Monitor.
But the chain did not complete and the rest of the process steps are grey.
After 20 minutes the Process Chain ran again(automatically after new data arrived) and this time without errors and it went green.
My question is, how to proceed with the red Process chain and complete the further process and make it green.

hi,
There are scenarios where you need to change status of a process chain or a particular step in process chain.
You might need to change the status in the cases where we need mark these steps successful so that dependent steps get processed. There are other scenarios where one needs to change the status of a single step in the process chain or status of whole process chain.
Step by step instructions on change process chain status
1. Right click on the failed step in the process chain monitor and go to displaying messages
2. Go to u2018Chainu2019 tab and note down variant, instance and start date
3. Go to SE16 and the table RSPCPROCESSLOG and enter variant, instance and start dates from step 2 and note down log_id, type, variant, instance.
4. Go to SE37 transaction and execute the function module RSPC_PROCESS_FINISH and enter the values from step 3 and enter the new status u2018Gu2019 in status field and execute the FM
5. This sets the status of the process chain (PC)
After you set the status using the FM, go to the monitor screen of the process chain, you will notice the changed status. Now dependent steps in the process chain will start running

Issue in Process Chain Status

We have various process chains for daily loads. Among those some of the process chain shows the status as red, but the data loaded successfully in the targets. And subsequent chains are not getting triggered.

Hi Sarath,
May be some of the process type got failed in the process chain, and it might got sucessfull only after manually resolving or may be after repeating from the Process chain, In these cases some times the process chain entire status turns to RED.
You can forcefully change the process chain to Green.
copy the variant and Instance of the process chain(or select the last process type in the process chain)
goto SE11-->Enter the table RSPCPROCESSLOG and execute --> now enter the copied variant and instance here and execute, It'll give you a new pop up with a LOG id, copy this log id as well.
Now gto se37>Functional module>RSPC_PROCESS_FINISH execute and the enter the copied vaiant, instance and logid, and also enter G (sucesfully completed) in I_State and now execute.

Process chain status RED even though successful

Process of my procss chain show status as RED though it is successful and it does not stop the further processes. in the end whole chain is run successfully & this process showing red.
What could be the reason.

which process is failed data loading or activation job? is this chain automatically executed or some one scheduled manually? in general when a process failed and we ran it manually and you donot get a repeate option then we can trigger the remaining processes of this process chain using a funtion module in SE38, seems your remaining chain ran in the same way, after this also your process chain overall status will be in Red, if it is data load then you can force it to Green ( you ran it manually), so that your chain over all status will become Green.

This can be perfectely done using Tcode ALRTCATDEF.
1. go to ALRTCATDEF
2. select classification "Process Chains"
3. click on display/change
4. double-click on "error in a process of a process chain"
5. click on "fixed recipients"
6. write in your username (you have to maintain your e-mail address in SU01 for that to work)
7. save
8. go to your process chain (rspc)
9. go into edit mode
10. from the menu, select Process chain -> attributes -> alerting
11. check "send alerts if errors occur".

ABAP Program using Selection Screen in Process Chain

Hi,
I have included an ABAP Program in the Process Chain.
The ABAP Program takes a selection screen value from user before execution.
I have created a variant for both the ABAP Process (YPV_ABC) and a variant for the Selection Screen (YPV_XYZ).
The ABAP Program executes perfectly well in SE 38.
I get the following message when I execute the Process Chain.
"Status Change of Process ABAP YPV_ABC.
Save Status and Trigger Events if Appropriate "
When I click Yes, the ABAP Process becomes red.
These are error messages in the log
516 - Job started
550 - Step 001 started (program RSPROCESS, variant &0000000012961, user ID ALEREMOTE)
25 -    Could not ascertain code page
546 - Job cancelled after system exception ERROR_MESSAGE
My questions are:
1) Is it possible to use an ABAP Program which has a user input screen in Process Chain?
2) Could you please help with the above error?

ABAP programs, with variants established for selection screens, are possible. We use them quite extensively for setting triggers to allow Process Chain to continue after an Interrupt Process has been hit.

I'm not quite sure what could be causing this. When you tested this program in SE38, did you test it with the same variant for the selection screen and did you execute it in background?
