Process flow in Process industry

Hi PP Gurus,
I want to have an idea about flow of process order in process industry with the details how the cost are captured per day if the process order continues for many days.
Pl guide me in the process
Thanks in advance

  • Process Flow - External process - Return status

    Did any one know how to capture or get the return value when executing a shell script thru Process flow - User defined - External process?
    This is the scenario.
    OWB Server on UNIX. Version-10.2, Database-9i
    I am executing a simple "whoami" command thru the user-defined process.
    How do I capture the return value?
    One of my shell script returns a value. Based on this return value I have to send a page or schedule a dependency job on successful completion.
    Thanks.

    To add a parameter to the process flow, you will have to add a parameter to the start activity in the activity view (lower left corner of the process flow editor), by clicking the Add button.
    You can then pass this parameter to the other activity by using the parameter binding - click on the BINDING column of the activity parameter you want to pass it to and select the parameter added to the start activity in the previous step from the drop down list.
    When the PF is run, the user will be prompted for a parameter, then it will be passed to the next activity.

  • Error during approval Process flow in Process controlled workflow

    Hello Experts,
    We are in SRM 7.0 classic scenario using Process controlled workflow.WE recently connected a new backend R/3 system to our SRM system i.e we now have 2 R/3 backend system connected to SRM system
    It is regarding the two new additional account assignment categories that came into picture when we connected the new R/3 backend system to our SRM system, i.e. Asset and Network.
    There seems to be some problem with the approval workflow for those SHC, that have such Acc *** Cats.
    Please find below my obeservations:
    - if you have just one line item in the SHC, and this item is either booked on Asset or on Network, than everything goes fine. After the Acc *** approval, the PR is created in R/3
    - if you have SC with a mix between an "old" Acc *** Cat (Cost Centre, WBS and Order) and one of the "new" Acc *** Cats, than the workflow is not working as required --- the manager, that is responsible for the accounting approval of the two positions (e.g Cost Centre and Asset) gets only one work item in his approval overview --- in that work item, the two positions are there, but the Asset one is grayed out --- so, the Manager approves only the Cost Centre positions and than the SC is no longer with the approver --- if you observe the SC now from the requisitioner point of view, the status of the line items in the approval process overview of both(!) lines is "approved", but the overall status of the SC is still "in approval"
    Can you all experts plz let us know why this is happening and how this can be resolved?
    Any pointers will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks & Regards,
    RKS

    Hi,
    What is Resp. Resolver Name and Decision Type in your Process Level Definition? Did you create custom agent BADI implementation?

  • Process Flow fails to import

    Hi,
    I am trying to import a process flow from one design repository to another and am failing misrably! I have saved an mdl export of the process flow from the repository where it was created and am simply importing the same mdl into the new rep. I do not get any errors during the import however do get a number of warnings like the one below:
    Warning at line 23: MDL1312: Referenced logical location with name <LOC_X> and UOID <109A0BEE09814D6DE04400306EF40E82> not found for PROCESSMODULE <WAREHOUSE_x>. Logical location not set for this module.
    The result of the import is that the process flow is not imported at all.
    what does it mean by Logical Location?
    Any help on this would be most appreciated.
    Thanks
    Mitesh

    Perfect..thats what I was missing. This has soved my original issue but I'm hitting a new one...in my project export there is an invalid process flow (a process flow is making a call to a function that returns a incorrect datatype) and this is causing my import to error. My question now is; is it possible to import an invalid process flow?
    thanks for your help on this.

  • Process Flow hangs

    I'm executing a process flow with several activities.
    After each activity I check for status and error out if the activity fails. If the activity succeeds I go on to the next activity.
    When I execute a map within the process flow, the process flow executes successfully only if the map is the last activity. The map functions to output data to a file.
    The Process Flow hangs if after the execution of the map
    a stored procedure is called. The stored procedure dynamically creates a DBLINK and updates a table.
    When I cancel the execution of the process flow I see the map has successfully outputted all
    records. But why hasn't it gotten to the stored procedure.
    Each activity on its own works fine but in combination with each other they hang the process flow.

    Mahesh,
    I am assuming that RAB stands for Runtime Audit Browser.
    The Runtime Audit Browser tells me how many records were
    rejected but not which ones and why.
    The debugger does not give adequate information in fact it does not issue a "break" where it should.
    Are there any tools OWB provides for "catching", or
    auditting data that cannot for whatever reason be extracted to a file.
    I see that they have a mechanism for capturing problems with data coming from a file into a table. I don't see
    where there is an explanation of error handling going from a table into a file.
    Thanks!
    Marion

  • Process flow ID

    Hi,
    I want to obtain (within a process flow) the process flow ID that is executing.
    Exists any function or variable with the ID?
    I'm executing this query:
    select max(execution_audit_id)
    from runtimes.all_rt_audit_executions
    where task_name = <PROCESS_FLOW_NAME>
    but I want to know if I can do it in another way??
    Thanks, Diego!

    Sounds as though you have transitions with the same number.
    Run this script to identify them, you'll then need to delete the transitions and recreate them:
    SELECT aip.package_name
    ,aipt.process_name
    ,aipt.source_activity_name
    ,aipt.target_activity_name
    ,aipt.transition_name
    FROM all_iv_process_transitions aipt
    ,all_iv_processes aip
    WHERE (source_activity_id, transition_order) IN (
    SELECT source_activity_id
    ,transition_order
    FROM all_iv_process_transitions
    GROUP BY source_activity_id
    ,transition_order
    HAVING COUNT (*) > 1)
    AND aipt.process_id = aip.process_id
    AND aip.package_name = 'your process flow package name'
    ORDER BY source_activity_id
    ,transition_order
    Cheers

    Nikolai,
    I have created a simple process flow which only calls the external process. The script is on the same host as the process flow is deployed to.
    I have used two diffent values for the command parameter.
    1. I placed the full path of the file in the command parameter and left the script parameter blank:
    COMMAND: /edwftp/ppas/scripts/ClearPPAS.sh
    PARAMETER_LIST:
    SUCCESS_THRESHOLD: 0
    SCRIPT:
    2.I placed the bash command in the command parameter and the full path in the script parameter.
    COMMAND: /usr/bin/sh
    PARAMETER_LIST:
    SUCCESS_THRESHOLD: 0
    SCRIPT: /edwftp/ppas/scripts/ClearPPAS.sh
    Both of these appear to work as they print out the statements inside the script but the files that are supposed to be removed still remain.

  • BUSINESS PROCESS FLOW (BPF) TASK SETUP - CURRENT VIEW OPTIONS

    This article explains a few findings regarding the options on Current View Type for setting up Business Process Flow tasks and will discuss BPC for Excel, Data Manager and BPC Web tasks.
    Future posts will cover more tasks.
    This is valid for 5.x versions only.
      IMPORTANT NOTE:
    DATA MANAGER PACKAGES
        Data Manager Packages tasks such as Run Specific Package, Run User Package are not integrated
        with the Current View Type selection. Therefore, the options Inherit from Data Region, Inherit from
        Current View or Member Lookup does not work on Data Manager Packages. This is due to the diversity of Data Manager Packages, such as Import, Export, Clear, Default Formulas, each of them requiring a complete different set of parameters, some of them not related to the Current View.
    1. INHERIT FROM DATA REGION
      Once you choose to Open a BPF from BPC for Excel, you are prompted to choose the Data
      Region. Upon setting the desired Data Region, the Current View is changed
      accordingly on BPC Web.
        OPEN TEMPLATE / REPORT LIBRARY / SCHEDULE LIBRARY
        If a step is defined as Open Template/Report Library/Schedule Library
        and INHERIT FROM DATA REGION is set to one (or more) of the Data Region
        dimensions, the Current View on BPC for Excel should change to match
        the settings done Data Region settings, being the same as the one on BPC Web.
        SET WORK STATUS
        Same as above.
    2. INHERIT FROM CURRENT VIEW
        OPEN TEMPLATE / REPORT LIBRARY / SCHEDULE LIBRARY
        If a step is defined as Open Template/Report Library/Schedule Library and INHERIT FROM
        CURRENT VIEW is set to one (or more) dimensions, the report will pickup the Current View
        from BPC Web and BPC for Excel should change to match the Current View,
        being the same as the one on BPC Web.
        Example:
        1. Log on to BPC Admin on ApShell -> Manage Application Sets;
        2. Go to Business Process Flows -> Budgeting Process;
        3. Grant access to the BPF to your test user;
        4. Check Sub-Step 1 of Step 1 - Check Budget Data. This steps has a
           INHERIT FROM CURRENT VIEW setup (ENTITY).
        5. Log on to BPC Web on ApShell;
        6. Go to Open a Business Process Flow and choose Budgeting Process;
        7. Choose the desired Data Region;
        8. On BPC Web, verify the value setup for ENTITY on the Current View;
        9. Open the Check Budget Data;
        10. The ENTITY on the Current View will be set up accordingly to what
            was set on BPC Web.
        SET WORK STATUS
        Same as above.
    3. MEMBER LOOKUP
        OPEN TEMPLATE / REPORT LIBRARY / SCHEDULE LIBRARY
        If a step is defined as Open Template/Report Library/Schedule Library and MEMBER LOOKUP
        is set to one (or more) dimensions, the report will set the Current View
        on BPC for Excel to the member that was configured.
        Example:
        1. Log on to BPC Admin on ApShell -> Manage Application Sets;
        2. Go to Business Process Flows -> Budgeting Process;
        3. Grant access to the BPF to your test user;
        4. Check Sub-Step 1 of Step 1 - Check Budget Data. This steps has a
           MEMBER LOOKUP setup (CATEGORY).
        5. Log on to BPC Web on ApShell;
        6. Go to Open a Business Process Flow and choose Budgeting Process;
        7. Choose the desired Data Region;
        8. On BPC Web, verify the value setup for CATEGORY on the Current View;
        9. Open the Check Budget Data;
        10. The CATEGORY on the Current View will be set up accordingly to what
            was set on the Task configuration, in other words, there should be BUDGET set
            on the Current View.
        SET WORK STATUS
        Same as above.

  • How to pass a paramter to a schedued process flow

    I have a process flow with a one varchar type parameter.
    I want to schedule this process flow and for that I have created a schedule and then attached it to the process flow using Process Flow -> Configuration -> Referred Calendar Option.
    Now my issue was how can I pass the parameter value into the process flow?
    OWB Version : 10.2.x
    Thanks,
    mc

    Hi Si,
    This is what I did.
    I have deployed the process flow with schedule and then goto control center and start the job.
    Then under parameters it's ask for a "EVAL_LOCATION" value. Which is something else.
    In my process flow I have a parameter called "Job_Name" and I want to pass a value for that parameter. But in either control center, no in direct API allow me to pass a value for that parameter.
    Thanks,
    mc

  • Calling external scripts from Process Flow

    Unix receives : EPO T_G OUPS,IGA,QLD,1 (3 parameters)
    and
    Parameter List : REPORT_GROUPS IGA QLD 1
    Unix receives : REPORT_GROUPS "" IGA "" QLD "" 1 (7 parameters - "" = null parameters received)
    Quotes just seem to be ignored.
    Can anyone give me the correct format or the where the format is documented ?
    In using OWB 9.0.4 with Oracle 9.2.0.2 on a HP UX server.

    Hi Pavel,
    The process flow editor interprets the first character in the parameter list as a separator (the 'R' in 'REPORT_GROUPS...' in your case).
    Check out OWB User Guide chapter 9, which says :
    Parameter List The list of parameters to be passed to the external process. Type the path
    and file name such as ?/c?c:\\temp\\run.bat .
    The Process Flow Editor interprets the first character you type to be the
    separator. For example, the Process Flow Editor interprets the following
    entry as /c and dir.
    ?/c?dir?
    Use the backslash as the escape character. For example, the Process Flow
    Editor interprets the following entry as -l and -s and /.
    /-l/-s/\//
    Hope this help.
    Regards
    Rolf
