Process for restoring an HTMLDB application

Hello,
What is the process for restoring an HTMLDB application if there is no export .sql file for it? Can it be recovered from the flows_files / flows_010500 schemas -- if so, how is this done?

I have backups set automatically, and I know that everything in my database is being backed up.
But when the server crashed, htmldb and oracle were gone anyway. I had no choice but to re-install both from the CDs.
But, when I restored my database, it put my old flows_files and flows_010500 schemas in. Could I have just installed htmldb with those schemas already there, or do you have to drop them first before doing a fresh install? I'm assuming that if I left the old schemas there, my applications still be there? (I apologize if I'm being unclear)

In the standard SAP system design , Extrastat is only available for Germany and the Netherlands.

Process for restoring Laptop HD

I have a new HD for my TiBook.
I know how to physically install it, but I'm a little hung up on the restoring part.
I can access my laptop's HD on my G4 Cube via Target Disk Mode.
My plan was to use Carbon Copy Cloner to create a Disk Image of the old TiBook HD.
However, once I have the new, unformatted HD in the laptop, can I still use T.D.M. to access it with my Cube.
How do I get the Disk Image to the laptop's new HD?
Anybody have any suggestions?

If you search for your component under the /usr/<SID> folder

If you have NWDI in place CTS would help in this, else you can deploy your application using sdm.
in CE you can deploy the application from NWDS.

Dead lock detected in alert log for HTMLDB application

We have a HTMLDB application newly impletemented in our database. One day, I found a ORA-000060 deadlock detected message in database alert log. Our developer said that the application is only for users to query something and will not insert, update or delete anything. I have created a tar but still not found any problem cause this. Can anyone tell why this occur?

Please see if (ora-600 [12333] / ora-3137 [12333] Troubleshooting [ID 828123.1]) and/or (ORA-600 [12333] "Fatal Two-Task Protocol Violation" [ID 35928.1]) is applicable.
Did you try to bounce the database and see if you can reproduce the issue?
If you still encounter the same error, please log a SR.

Error: 1056603 Unable to spawn process for application [AppName]

Hi,
After a fresh installation of Essbase Server (11.1.1.4), I'm experiencing the following error when attempting to perform basically any action on any Application (Start, Stop, Delete) through EAS:
*Error: 1056603 Unable to spawn process for application [Demo]. Please ensure that adequate memory is available.*
System memory seems abundant at around 5% usage with all relevant services started, but I even doubled it (since it's a VM) to 16Gb just to make sure, the issue persists.
Having a look at the Essbase server log, I didn't find any additional info that could be helpful:

Did you try increasing the Heap size for EAS ? Try the following and check if you still get the error -
increase the Java heap settings in the EAS script on a Unix platform that was configured using the automatic deployment method, do the following:
1. Navigate to the $HYPERION_HOME/deployments/{appserver}/bin directory.
2. Edit the setCustomParamseas.sh(.bat) script.
3. Modify or add the -Xms and -Xmx settings to the JAVA_OPTIONS variable. For example:
+JAVA_OPTIONS="-Xms256m -Xmx1024m -DComponentName=eas -DcomponentId=1e3bf92b2d9bb0493bcd3380127b0ca49ee7f50 -Dsun.net.inetaddr.ttl=0 -DHYPERION_HOME=/usr/local/oracle/hyperion -Dhyperion.home=/usr/local/oracle/hyperion -DEAS_HOME=/usr/local/oracle/hyperion/products/Essbase/eas -DESS_ES_HOME=/usr/local/oracle/hyperion/products/Essbase/eas/server -DEAS_LOG_LEVEL=5000 -DEAS_LOG_LOCATION=/usr/local/oracle/hyperion/logs/eas/easserver.log -DCLIENT_SERVER_DIFF_MC=true -Dweblogic.j2ee.application.tmpDir=/usr/local/oracle/hyperion/deployments/temp -Djava.io.tmpdir=/usr/local/oracle/hyperion/tmp ${JAVA_OPTIONS} "+

I have just had a Windows XP failure and took the opportunity to replace with Windows 7. After I reinstalled PhotoShop CS(1) the message "Memory could not be allocated for the activation process. Please close all applications and try again" is shown and forces PhotoShop to close. I have 4Gb of Ram installed and a total of about 10Gb of Page File space on three partitions of a 500Gb HDD. The system is not heavily loaded! However, I cannot access Photoshop to check scratch disk allocation. How to fix???

Just purchased a new laptop:
Intel Core 2 quad
4gb memory
1000 HDD
Photoshop CS 8.0 disc dead/scratched/unreadable. So I copied my Adobe folder from my Program Files Folder on my PC and pasted on laptop. When I try and run PS I get the error message "Memory could not be allocated for the activation process. Please close all applications and try again". Which I do then Photoshop closes.
Can anyone help (in layman terms please)?

Not really. You are essentially FUBARd. Without a proper install, there is usually no way on to get the licensing stuff working. You might be able to get there by installing any other CS product, so PS could latch on to the licensing system that would be already in place, but otherwise it's a lost cause. Simply copying over the executables is normally not enough. I will admit though, that I skipped CS, so there may be some tool somewhere that I don't know about can do this post facto...

Disk Utility: after creating the .DMG (compressed image) When "scan image for restore" finishes it displays "unable to scan (internal error)". Since the process was scanning for about 1 hr is this a fake warning?

External 500GB drive is partitioned with 400GB for Mac OS extended (journalling) and 2nd partition formatted today as "ExFAT".
Yesterday I tried to create a disk image of my HD to no avail - this was compressed on a FAT partition. I got a warning after running the <scan image for restore> saying "unable to scan (internal error)"
I rang Apple support who suggested formatting a partition as MAC OS extended (journalling) and choose to save the image as "read/write'. The image process stopped writing at about 200GB and then the file size jumped to 499GB (ie the size of the HD). But the process did nothing for about an hour so I foce quit disk utility (as suggested by apple support)
My current attempt was to format the external drive again; this time with a 400GB Mac OS extended (journal) format; plus a 100GB ExFAT format partition. The new image was created after about 2.5hrs with a compressed size of 149GB. However, after running the "scan image for restore" facility I got the warning message "unable to scan filename " (internal error). The process was scanning the image file according to the progress bar - this took about hour - thus the warning is a puzzle.
If anyone can say more about this error I would really appreciate knowing tips for using disk utility. The screen grab is below.

fyi: I thought that I would use my external Buffalo for two purposes; namely the smaller ExFAT partition for copying stuff to my win7 netbook. The larger partition was to be used as my imac image of SL. So this was my first attempt at using disk utility - the idea being to hold an image backup at another location. Plus I now have the Lion thumbdrive ready to upgrade from SL and so being cautious wanted to have a SL image backup
Anyway I followed the apple instructions using my mac 10.6.3 install DVD but it would appear from other discussions that <unable to scan (internal error)> is not unique to me.
I’ll get back to apple telephone support for further advice.
I would though be grateful for an “idiots’ guide to making an image backup of my internal HD that runs SL 10.6.8
eg should I have just one partition on the external USB drive? format it as Mac OS extended? create the image as compressed or read/write? Basically I’ll do whatever will work!!

Is this the file that does not have the desired priveleges? I think that's correct. If so, then open Terminal in the Utilitie folder. At the prompt enter:
sudo chown -Rf root:admin [dragged file goes here]
Leave a space after "root:admin" and drag the file you need to change into the Terminal window. Press RETURN. You will be asked to enter your admin password. It will not be echoed to the screen so type carefully. Press RETURN again.
This will change the priveleges of the file to the default for the Applications folder.

Process for Flat file delta load from Application server to transactional??

I want to do a flat file extraction in delta loads from application server and that should be loaded into a transactional cubes scheduling a process chain.

Hi Devi,
As per your explaination, you want to load a list of files from application server using process chain.
You can do this with below steps.
1) Create a Event and call event to run Process chain multiple times.
2) Put all filenames in a file say, source-File
3) Write a rooting to read filename from Source-File and trigger InfoPackage
4) At the end of the process chain create new customized program which will delete first line from Source-File so that it will take next file in next run as well as delete currently loaded file. Once this is done trigger event again to start process chain again.

Based on the error message, it seems the issue is related to that there is a duplicate entry in the file it mentioned.

Given what you describe you will have to upgrade Snow Leopard by downloading and installing Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1. Then go to the App Store and sign in with your Apple ID. Purchase and download Mountain Lion to upgrade your OS. Then purchase the latest upgrades for the iLife applications which includes iPhoto.
Or you can go on eBay, Google, or Amazon and purchase another copy of the DVD based iLife.

Java Processes for Planning Applications

Hi There,
We've experienced performance issues where we have reached the limit of the java process for Hyperion Planning - WAS element. My question! Is it possible to create multiple java processes for Hyperion Planning, for example: If we have 7 Planning applications could we have 7 Java processes running - one for each application?

Couple of thoughts on scaling:
1. Change the mx setting to 1200m -- this is the most you can scale a single instance on 32-bit
2. Use a 64-bit platform you can set memory settings really high (AIX/Solaris)
3. Multiple servers with planning on it using a load balancer
