Process Management for Standard Target Version

Hi All,
I am newbie to hyperion, I am entering values at parent level by taking version type as "Standard Target", Is this possible to create Process Management for "Standard Target" versions? if yes how? Plz help me.
Regards,
Naresh R

I take it you are talking about planning, process management is for "Bottom Up Versions"
From the docs
"Target versions use top-down budgeting. *Manage Process Tasks are not allowed*, and children of target members must be blank (for example, #MISSING) to enable data input at the top level."

  • Is Appoval Process for Standard Target possible in 11.1.2.1

    Hi All,
We are testing Workflow Approval process in 11.1.2.1
The idea is to get a Free Flow approval process to work for a Standard Target Version member.
    So, we created 2 members in the Version dimension;
    1) Working - Standard Target
    2) BU_Ver - Bottom up
    After assigning access to respective users in entity, scenario and version dimensions;
and defining the planning unit, when I try to do Scenario and Version Assignment
I can only see the Scenario members and for Version selection the Bottom up (BU_Ver) member.
The Standard Target member (*Working*) does not appear in the drop down.
    My questions is;
    1) Is it possible to implement a free form workflow using Standard Target.
    Please help !!
    Thanks in advance.

I have similar situation with my client and I had below post few days back. I was hoping to get some feed back.
    Process management vs target vesrion
If the purpose is to know who is signing off and not to control read/write access during the approvals and rejections I am thinking of trying above post. I still need to test that and see if I am missing anything.
    Distributed budgeting: Oracle doc:
After the data is collected at the lower levels, the budget is submitted through the process management approval process. After all the budgets are submitted, >the top budget group owner reviews, approves, and loads the budgets for budgetary control, transaction control, and reporting.I think Oracle meant to copy data from 'target' to 'bottom-up' version before enabling process management (I donno what makes the difference of using distributed/free-form option during planning unit creation), it is still not clear enough for me.
Enabling 'bottom-up' forecast for detail level sales forecast is practically not an easy process and I may have to push back the scope on 'process management'
    Thanks

  • How to install Oracle BPEL Process Manager for OracleAS Middle Tier

    hi,
i need to install BPEL process manager, so i download the following file from otn
    1.soa_windows_x86_101310_disk1
    2.soa_windows_x86_bpel_101310
here i read the document named b28980.pdf from bpel\doc\pc.1012 to install BPEL PM
so i start to complete the pre-installation task
    1.installed Oracle database 10g
2.Run the Integration Repository Creation Assistant on the Database
3.Install Oracle Application Server 10g Release3 (10.1.3.1.0) and select either the J2EE Server installation type or the J2EE and Web Server installation type. selected J2EE and Web Server installation type
and installed according to the Oracle application server installation guide.
installed OracleAS in the path : D:\product\10.1.3.1\OracleAS_1
4.Install the current release of Oracle BPEL Process Manager for OracleAS Middle Tier
here they mention to select the J2EE and Web Server installation type because that type is selected in Oracle AS installed in Oracle Application Server
so i start to install the BPEL PM by selecting the setup.exe-->and shows the location source and destination
default destination is : D:\product\10.1.3.1\OraBPEL_1 selected next on the screen
the next screen is select installation type here there are two types named
1.BPEL process Manager for Developer (371MB)
2.BPEL process manager for Oracle AS Middle tier (107MB)
i selected 2.BPEL process manager for Oracle AS Middle tier (107MB) and click next
pop up window opens with title dependencies
    error:
BPEL Process manager for oracle AS Middle tier will run on top of a supported Oracle Application Server 10.1.3.1.0 J2EE server and Web Server Or J2EE server instance. this location does not contain this instance. Please select new Oracle home that contains a supported instance.
so i changed the destination path to : D:\product\10.1.3.1\OracleAS_1\BIN then also i got the same error.
please any one mention the path for J2EE and Web Server instance for installing the BPEL PM for Oracle AS Middle Tier.
    Thanks in Advance
    Aswath Thaniga

If you choose the developer version you will be fine.
If you have installed J2EE and Web Server installation into D:\product\10.1.3.1\OracleAS_1 then this is the location you install your BPEL PM into, not D:\product\10.1.3.1\OraBPEL_1 or D:\product\10.1.3.1\OracleAS_1\BIN.
D:\product\10.1.3.1\OracleAS_1 is what we call the ORACLE_HOME, generally we create a new home for each install, but in this case there is a dependency on 10.1.3.1 OC4J container. So it needs to be installed into 10.1.3.1 oracle home.
The bin directory is just the executables for that home, its not the actual. home.

  • Battery gauge error running Power Manager for Windows XP version 5.20

Last week on my R61 (8932-CTO),  Update Retriever and System Update requested that I download and install ThinkPad Power Manager for Windows XP version 5.20. After rebooting, I immediately received an error box with the following message:
An exception occurred while trying to run"C:\Progra~1\ThinkPad\UTILIT~1\PWRMGRTR.DLL,PwrMgrBkGndMonitor"
As a result of this error, the battery gauge no longer displays correctly. The space where it used to be is blank, but clicking the empty space still gives you the option of starting Power Manager.
What is puzzling about this is that version 5.20 is not available in either in the Driver Matrix, nor on the Downloads and Drivers web page. The version of the software that is presented there is version 5.13.
The driver for ThinkPad Power Manager for Windows XP - version 5.20 can be downloaded from:
    http://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc/pccbbs/mobiles/ghu704ww.exe
    http://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc/pccbbs/mobiles/ghu704ww.txt
Another interesting point, is that this version of the driver has, as yet, not been presented to me on my R500 (2714CTO), although both machine types are listed as supported models.
Why are Update Retriever and System Update downloading software that apparently has not been officially released yet?  Why is this only happening on my R61 and not on my R500?
And last of all, why has his software been released when it seems to have an obvious problem?
    Any explanations would be appreciated.

  • Process Management for multiple scenario, years, periods, phases, entities?

    Hello,
Inside System 11 HFM, we recreated an application where we have an history of 10 years, 12 periods, for about 10 scenarios and 500 entities.
For all the Entities, scenarios, Year, periods and phases, process flow is at "not started"
We would like to start, promote, publish all these in a faster way to make them available
How can we do this ?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
    Enabling Process Management:
Before you can use Process Management, the administrator must enable process management
using the SupportSubmissionPhase attribute for the Scenario dimension in the metadata file.
When this attribute is enabled, Process Management is available for the specified scenarios.
For more details about process management, please click on the below link and refer to page number 203, which might be helpful to you.

If yes, what is standard process messages and ......

    Hi Sri,
This is not batch split. It is SAP standard way of showing batches that determined at the time of delivery. Your item item 10 will have a quantity of 0 and item 90001 will have actual quantity. You need not have to pick item 10, instead you would be picking item 90001. if you have multiple batches for same item it will show them as 90001, 90002 etc.
When you invoice these items it will show as item 10, 20 etc.
if you have multiple batches for item 10, 90001 will appear as 10, 90002 as 11, 90003 as 12 and so on.
    Hope that explains

  • PPPI - Process Management - activating standard settings from SAP

    System data ECC 5.0
I am trying to use process message category PI_ORDCO. The destination is not assigned. I think the destination should be PI14. PI14 is not listed in the dropdown list.
My guess is the system does not have the current standard settings from SAP "activated". Please help with activating SAP predefined destinations, characteristics, categories, instructions, etc.

  • Bpel process manager database compatibility

    Hi everybody,
I actually use the Bpel process manager 10.1.2.0.2 in standalone on a jboss server.
The database for the dehydration store is an oracle 10g (i don't which release exactly).
Our customer want to pass from oracle 10g to a oracle 11g database.
I wonder if i 'll have to upgrade my Bpel process manager or if this version is compatible with a 11g database ?
Thanks in advance for your answers.
Edited by: xantrax on 12 août 2009 08:14

so one of the major things on this front - is that 10.1.2 bpel was released 4 years back - at that time, no 11g db :-) we have not certified this - and the 11g db drivers are only for jdk 1.5 / 1.6 - both of which are not supported under 10.1.2 bpel. 10.1.3.4 bpel /soa suite is certified with 11g db.

  • Regarding Oracle Business Process Manager and WS-Security

    Hi All,
Actually I like to invoke couple of secure services running on seperate
server runnnig JWSDP.These services are using WS-security,so I am just
wondering if it possible to call these webservices through Oracle
    Business Process Manager.
As our secure services are using JWSDP so thats the reason we prefer to
use the BPEL engine which deployed on top of JWSDP so that We dont
have to confront with compatable issues among different toolkits.
So I am just wondering do you think that Oracle business process manager
ws-secuirity implementation can use the JWSDP implementation i.e
xws-security implementation,in otherwords is it possible to use JWSDP
with Oracle business process manager for using the ws-security?Thanks.
    I would appreciate your help.

yes we do native in Oracle BPEL PM (username token) - as explained here
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/ias/bpel/documents/bpel_admin_10.1.3.1.0.pdf page 30
for more sophisticated ws sec stuff, pls use Oracle Webservice Manager

  • Installation of "Oracle BPEL Process Manager" (newbie)

    Hello,
I need to evaluate the "Oracle BPEL Process Manager" for a seminar at my university.
I am completely new to the BPEL topic and I need some help installing the "BPEL Process Manage".
    1) I downloaded the file "Oracle BPEL Process Manager (10.1.3.1.0)" for x86 Windows. 340 MB ; filename: "soa_windows_x86_bpel_101310.zip"
    2) In the Install Guide of that package it says there are two installation scenarios:
    ■ Scenario 1: Oracle BPEL Process Manager with Oracle SOA Suite
    ■ Scenario 2: Oracle BPEL Process Manager for OracleAS Middle Tier
I think the best and easiest (and smallest?) for me is the first one "with Oracle SOA Suite". But the Guide I have is only for the second Scenario.
It says the first one would be explained in the guide "Oracle Application Server 10g Release 3 (10.1.3.1.0) Installation Guide", but there's nothing said about BPEL ! ??
Do I have to download the complete "Oracle SOA Suite 10g (10.1.3.x)" ?!
Or can I just try to execute the setup of my "Oracle BPEL Process Manager (10.1.3.1.0)" without a guide?
I'm really confused here and help would be much appreciated.
    regards

that segment will lead for installatoin of the SOA with the datbase Lite. Can Lite database work for the tutorals or cause problems for the SOA 10.1.3.4 upgrade etc?? I guess there may be scripts built not for the lite db in the examples and the upgrade.Question, what would be the Lite database name? I have loaded SOA 10.1.3.1 with Olite. Now try to upgrade it to SOA 10.1.3.4.
the part of the upgrade is to run the upgrade scritps. Since the db is lite, we have to use msql via jdbc connection. But I have no idea what's the db name created under 10.1.3.1. Checked ORACLE_HOME/install/readme, there seem no such info. it could be the instance name in the readme. But had it tried, no work.
