Process monitor alert to include process id and or user

I set up a SCOM 2012 process monitor from the process monitoring template, that now quite nicely alerts me when an instance of a process consumes too much CPU or too much Memory from the host. The problem I have now, is that I have 15 Remote Desktop
Service hosts that my customers log on, to run this process, and an average of 45 users per RDSH. While it's nice to know which server has the process running too high, what I really need to know is the user and/or PID of the offending process. I easily have
this process running 45 times per RDSH throughout the day. If I knew the PID or the user, I could much more easily find my process, and with user, I could even shadow my user via my service broker to see what's going on. As it is now, I have to myself RDP
to the server, pull up task manager, sort by offended instance (memory or CPU), to find the task. Then, find the user/pid associate, go back to the service broker and shadow the session to determine the cause.
I there a fairly simple way to get the PID or user information from the process to show up I the alert? I would think it pretty basic to expect that if I monitor a process, I want to the at least the PID of that process in the alert...and preferably
the user. Other suggestions to accomplish this? I want to be able to hand these alerts (via notification) off to my support folks, so they have enough information to resolve the issue, without jumping from RDSH to RDSH.
Thanks in advance!

i Have an ex-iMessage user that I text quite often.  How do I include them in a group text?  how do I send SMS texts with my iPhone 5s?

Whether or not everyone gets the response depends solely on the person responding. i.e. you send a group text and i am one of the reciepients. From here i have two options, reply to the group text (everyone gets my reply) or i could text just you on the side (by opeining a new window in messages with just you as the reciepient) and replying to just you. Theres nothing you can do, its up to the person replying whether or not they reply to the entire group or just you seperately.

  • Process Monitoring: Monitor BI Process Chains

    Hello,
does someone know how to monitor Bi process chains in SolMan Process Monitoring? I tried to add the chain CCMS node, but for some reason it does not accept the chain (I guess because it is a dynamic created CCMS context).

pmd, but 4 processes match on these chracters. How
can i tell SMC that the Process Monitoring shows only
the process who exactly Match the entered value ?Have you tried the extra optional user and/or argument filtering?
If all 4 of your processes run as the same user, with the same arguments (or none at all) then you could also symlink a different file name to the binary you want so it appears in your ps output as something unique. That only works if you have control over what launches that process to begin with (so you can change it to call that new name as well).
If you still can't make that process unique you could also write a small script to monitor it and dump back the interesting bits to stdout to be read by ScriptRunner (http://www.halcyoninc.com/products/ScriptRunner/index.php)

  • Error processing in non BPM sync process

I've created a sync non BPM process which is working fine. Data comes from several terminals via HTTP. My scenario is HTTP=>XI=>RFC
On the sending side, I use ABAP mapping or parser. I'm using this since I have to check some table data based on plant code and react accordingly.
However, its quite possible that this table does not contain data for a given plant code or invalid plant code in which case I need to send back an response instead of calling RFC like I would normally do.
Any idea how I can send back a message without going through RFC (receiver determination)....remember I have manipuated the RFC message in the ABAP mapping (in interface determination) and the only data I have available in receiver determination is original message which is not good.
This has gotten very tricky now. I cannot use BPM due to WF response time + added RFC time (6 secs). Using non BPM I'm down to 1 sec or so which the users are happy.
    Thanks,
    Very confused XI programer.

Michal, The table is in XI. Table has few different fields that are important to the interface esp. The R3 system to call. Based on the plant code, we decide which SAP system to send data to. And in XI, we store this info...ex: PIP3 plant goes to AI0 system. The terminals where is information is generated does not have this sophistication.
How would you accomplish this HTTP=>XI=>RFC non BPM sync process. BPM adds too much time and the users don't wait that long in today process which will be replaced by XI. Non BPM yields 1 sec which is what they want. Thousands of messages flow and they cannot wait that long.
    Do you have suggestions.

  • XP Registry and New Users

    I have the following:
    NetWare 6.0 sp 3
    ZENworks for Desktops 3.2 sp2
    XP Pro Sp2
    Client 4.9 sp2
In the user policy I am using Dynamic Local User with:
    Manage existing user account
    Use eDirectory credentials
    Volatile user
    All checked.
    Also using NAL
    The issue:
I install an application as an administrator e.g. WordPerfect 10. WP10 is
installed local (including registry stuff) and other users have the rights
to run it. When user1 logs in and clicks on the WP10 icon in the NAL window,
NAL pushes registry stuff. Because I am asking DLU to remove the user when
they log off - when user1 logs in again it pushes the same registry stuff
down. I know XP puts registry stuff in each users' space (then ZEN removes
it when the user logs out), but is there a way of making the registry common
to all users (remember Win 98?)? I am at a school board and I might have
over 200 students logging into any given computer and don't want to make
    profiles for all of them.
    Thanks for any suggestions...

    Thanks, but this didn't work.
Made user1 non-volitile. Logged in as user1. Launched NAL. Installed WP10.
Logged off, then back in as user1 - Registry stuff did not get reapplied (it
did before). Logged in as Admin to local machine and copied the contents of
    c:\Documents and Settings\user1 to c:\documents and Settings\Default user
(including the ntuser.dat). Logged off then back on as user2, ran NAL,
clicked the WP10 shortcut and the registry stuff got pushed down.
If I search the registry for anything to do with user1 I get many hits in
HKLM pointing to c:\Documents and Settings\user1. So I gave all users all
    rights to c:\Documents and Settings\user1 - didn't help.
Did I miss a step? Or are some apps, like WP, just going to be a problem?

  • Business Process Monitoring: restrict authorization to confirm alerts

    Hello Experts,
I am working with Solution Manager's Business Process Monitoring and I am now facing these questions regarding roles and authorizations to allow/forbid alert confirmation:
    - What is the authorization mechanism behind alert confirmation in BPM? Is a specific authorization object involved when pressing the button "Confirm selected"?
    - Is it possible to adjust roles (if no standard role is available) in order to have, for example,
--Role1: give users the authorizations to walk through DSWP transaction, see business processes' alerts and confirm them
--Role2: give users the authorizations to walk through DSWP transaction, see business processes' alerts but NOT allow them to confirm any alert?
    Our Solution Manager version:
SAP EHP 1 for SAP Solution Manager 7.0 (SP22)
    ST-PI 2008_1_700 level2
    ST-SER 701_2008_2 level 6
    ST-A/PI 01M_CRM570
I hope I managed to explain my doubts properly; any help will be very appreciated.
Thanks in advance for your support,
    best regards
    Paolo

    Hello Paolo,
it is the first time that I hear that request. Can you explain what your use case is? Why would you allow some users to see and analyze alerts but do not let them confirm the alerts if the problem is solved?
As the user/date/time is logged if somebody confirms you have the transaparency who confirmed which alert at what point of time.
I think that currently no such split in authorizations is supported but perhaps you can find something in the securtiy guide.
    Best Regards

  • Business Process Monitoring - Modification of the standard alert mechnisms

    Hi All,
Am using Solution Manager 7.0 BPMON and the alert mechanisms used is the email notification from BPM_NOTIF.
Would like to know if the email format can be modified Some e.g of the modification which I am looking at
    1) The subject as of now is the standard the Solution name. Can the sbuject be modified to suit what kind of alert this is.
    2) In the body there a couple of details which may not be used and some other details may need to be added for e.g for a dialog performance monitor the user  id which has hit the threshold is not visible in the alert hence can this be added to the email alert?
    Thanks.
    Rgds,
    Letchu

    Hello,
with ST400 SPS23 and hence ST-SER 701_2010_1 it is directly possible to influence subject and body of an email in BPMon. Additionally you can use other BAdIs to further enrich your notifications or trigger "real" auto-reactions. Please refer to the following SDN blog /people/johannes.fleig/blog/2010/06/02/create-your-own-auto-reaction-messages-in-business-process-monitoring-via-badi-exit

  • BPM - Process Performance Indicators and Process Monitoring

    Hi,
In SAP BPM, is there any way to get some reports or dashboard with key PPI (Process Performance Indicators). What we are really interested in is to know how many times a month a process or a specific task of a process has been run, how many time it took to complete the task, was the task completed on time, where are we in the process right now, etc?
We have just started to look into SAP BPM, but my first impression is that it is more a modeling tool along with some taks coordinations. I feel like it's missing the key analytics to really drive innovation in our processes.
Probably that I'm wrong and I've missed something. Please let me know if there is a way to do that, if there are any workarounds or if there are any SAP partners that offer a solution that we could use along with SAP BPM.
    Thanks a lot!
    Martin

    Thanks for your feedback.
We want to implement a SAP BPM scenario in a finance process for the VAT Tax reporting. So basically, our accountant needs to run some SAP transactions along with some manual outside steps. Then the supervisor will perform some checks and finally the tax manager needs to approve it.
There is some interactions with SAP but only for a small part of the process. What we want to achieve is to be able to see the key performance indicator for our process. But at the moment this is not delivered with SAP BPM. I've heard that this may come in the next release end of 2009, but in the meanwhile I'm wondering if other people have been able to implement some customization in Net Weaver or have found other alternatives to be able to monitor their process adequately.
    Thanks

can you be a little more specific what you are exactly looking for?! In general you can find plenty of documentation under http://service.sap.com/bpm > Media Library or visit the different SDN blogs, e.g.  /people/volker.vongloeden/blog/2009/07/23/functional-scope-of-business-process-monitoring-in-sap-solution-manager

  • Including a new Process Monitor Report

    Hi all
I was wondering if by adding a new kind of report on the workbench under Process Monitor Reports (default reports are : Process Monitor, Process Monitor with Locks, Process Monitor All Categories, Process Status Period Range, Process Monitor Sorted by Location Hierarchy) I could modify the information showed by this "new report"
For example currently if I generate the Process Monitor with Locks it will show every single location I have within my application, however I need this "new report" to show only some of those locations filtered by an attribute, I supposs the correct way to do this is to locate and modify the script being called by the adapter to publish this report. The problem is I can't find this so called script.
Am I wrong and this publishing process is being done through an already compile library, a .dll ?? If this is the case is there anyway to override this call ??
I hope I made my problem clear enough
    Thanks

    Hi,
Login to FDQM (FDM) work bench client and click reports tab.
Copy the report you want to modify and paste (I prefer to do this way, so we will not create any issues in the existing reports)
    change the report description.
Right click on the report now. Clcik report definition properties, Click SQL tab on the top.
Now add vpartcatpercartesian.partname like 'E%'. so you will get only locations starting with E in your report.

  • ATP Check include in MRP and Exclude on Process order

    Dear all,
We have a situation if we include reservations, deliveries and dependent requirements in ATP check in OPJJ, the system behaviour is that it includes all of them during MRP run. On process order level if we perform ATP check the system shows that all materials are available as it includes the dependent requirements and deliveries as well. we want to exclude dependent requirements and deliveries from ATP check on process order level so that it can only consider the quantities that are available in stock. and system will block the release of process order in case of short fall. as system includes dependent requirements and deliveries as well it always shows the msg that all material are available. Plz help and reply soon...... any suggestions or work arounds are always well come ..............

    Hi
as i understand from ur question u dont want to considered dependent requrement and delivaries for

after that go to t code OPJK and select material avalability as -03-No creation if material is missing

    # ps -ef | grep -i ora

In the process monitoring module, i add the following row :

But the process count value still at 0...
    Someone have an idea ?
    Thanks

    Hello Thanks for your answer.
In my first post i made a mistake the "Name pattern" is not blank but tnslsnr.
So to complete my first post, it seems that process monitor can't monitor all processes.
On my SMC client i made other tests :
    # ps -ef | grep -i tns
    oracle 2185 1 0 Jul 12 ? 0:00 /appli/oracle/bin/tnslsnr LISTENER -inherit
    Entry Name : tnslsnr
Name Pattern:tnslsnr or tns or tns*
    Argv Pattern:
    User specification: oracle or blank
    --> It doesn't work process count =0
    # ps -ef | grep -i orca
    root 5367 1 0 Jul 20 ? 1:47 /opt/RICHPse/bin/se.sparcv9 -DWATCH_OS /opt/Orca/lib/orcallator.se
    Entry Name : Orca
Name Pattern:se.sparcv9 or orca or orcallator.se
    Argv Pattern:
    User specification: root or blank
    --> It doesn't work process count =0
    # ps -ef | grep -i tty
UID PID PPID C STIME TTY TIME CMD
    root 2246 1 0 Jul 12 console 0:00 /usr/lib/saf/ttymon -g -h -p musun00001 console login: -T sun -d /dev/console

    Entry Name : ttymon
    Name Pattern:ttymon

    User specification:

Someone as an idea why I can't monitor the listener and orcallator process but it's work for ttymon ?

  • Problem about Triggering BPM and Process monitor

    Hi all,
I am new on the BPM domain. Now i got some problem working on it.
First, i want to execute a FM or Program in ECC, and then trigger the process of BPM, how to do this?
or maybe i can say like this, i want to start a BPM from ECC screen, how could i do?
Second, the requester could find the completed tasks in UWL with some simple text only,
if he wants to see the whole process status, is that possible?
    Regards,
    Fisher

    Hi Harsha,
    Thx for your reply.
For First, is the URL which in Process Repository, after clicking "start process", something like "http://www.example.org/bpem/..... "?
but seems i cannot open the URL for detail XML data. Could you give some more details?
For Second, go to UWL page, in Tasks tab, choose "completed tasks" in first dropdown box, you can get the task list then.
And it returns only "priority, completion date, status".
If the task is in progress, yes, process visualization will picture the state of the process.
But my customers (requesters), not admin, want to see the diagram after they submit, with status better. Any suggestion?
    Regards,
    Fisher

  • Monitoring proxy abap in business process monitoring

    Hi
Expert. Iu2019m working with Business Process Monitoring in my Solution Manager 7.0 sp20.
I would to monitor the communication between SAP ECC and SAP PI.
SAP ECC and SAP PI communicate by proxy.
I would know if can I monitor the proxy abap using SAP PI Message Error Monitoring based on Message-Based-Alerting (RWB).
I have just defined the alert category in abap stack and in RWB. In RWB I have inserted all information in u201CConditionsu201D fields  and in the u201CWhere did the error occur?u201D fields I have chose:
    Integration engine : XI Proxy
    Error Code: *
Is this the correct procedure to monitor a proxy abap?
    Thanks a lot
    Giou2019

    Hello Giovanni,
The described procedure looks correct in general. If you have set any restrictions in "Conditions" fields than you will only monitor on these specific message. If not all message will be considered which turn into a error status on the ABAP Proxy.
For information regarding the PI/XI Message Based Alerting please refer to service.sap.com/bpm -> Media Library -> Technical Information "Setup Guide - Interface Monitoring".
