Process Monitoring SCOM 2007 R2-Minimum Number of Processes

I am trying to setup a process monitor with Minimum Number of Processes set to 0 but its not accepting it and replacing it with 1.Is there way I can set it to 0, tried to edit the xml as well but its not working
Help would be appreciated

Hi,
You process monitor type is: alert on out of process count i.e. process should exists on the server if value 0 indicates the process is not running on server
and monitor type fail to calculate process count. Minimum number is 1 by default and by design.
The Process Monitor is a "mini" management pack that runs a WMI query. The query performs a:
select * from Win32_Process Where Name = (the parameter passed by the script for the name of the process to monitor).
Output all parameter of win32_process class and this monitor type work on Count. If the count value is 0 indicates process is not running and this monitor fail.

  • Using ARIS process models as the foundation for Business Process Monitoring

    Hello,
Do anyone know if you can use IDS Scheer ARIS process models and the integration between IDS Scheer ARIS and SAP Solution Manager as the starting point for end-to-end Business Process Monitoring (BPM) so that you get the process description/model automatically in Solution Manager BPM and just need to configure the monitoring (more or less that you monitor against the modelled process in ARIS)?
Is there an API for SAP Solution Manager BPM so that non-SAP solutions/systems can be part of the end-to-end process monitoring?
If not, how do you usually integrate non-SAP solutions that are part of an end-to-end process that you want to monitor into SAP Solution Manager BPM, or do you not use Solution Manager BPM for this?
What is the roadmap for SAP around SAP Solution Manager BPM when it comes to non-SAP systems/applications/solutions and the new SAP NetWeaver BPM functionality?
    Regards,
    Markus Johansson

    Hello Markus,
I just paste my answer form the other forum entry Re: Business process management strategy in SAP?
in a nutshell BPM Netweaver is focussing on so called edge-processes (usually
SOA-based and often workflow related). These edge-processes a thought to enhance exisitng core business processes and should provide the fast competitive edge versus competitors. Examples would be also xApps. For this Netweaver provides process modelling tools, where you can get exectuable code through the integration between CE and PI. The monitoring part for these processes is mainly targeting business end-users and business manager.
Business Process Monitoring with Solution Manager focusses on core business processes which are realized with the "conventional", "old" SAP Architecture, e.g. Order-to-Cash or Procure-to-Pay. You get a combination of technical monitors (average response times of transactions, background job runtimes, monitors for IDOC or qRFC processing) and application related monitors (you get more than 200 pre-configured application monitors out-of-the-box like number of overdue customer orders or outbound deliveries or number of deliveries with goods issue posted but no invoice). The target group here is the support organization of the customer, from Basis-Support over application support on IT side to process owner on business department side.
Overview presentations can be found under
    https://service.sap.com/bpm --> Media Library --> Customer Information -->
    "Business Process Monitoring - Part 1 & 2".
    Or look under https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/nw-processmonitoring
In the end BPM Netweaver and BPMon SolMan are complementary for different purposes and different target groups.

  • Minimum number of server running

    Hello,
I've got an issue in production but I'm not sure it is not a normal behaviour.
We have one group of server defined as following :
    +##############################################################################+
    *SERVERS+
    +###############################################################################+
    DEFAULT:
    +     RESTART=Y+
    +     MAXGEN=3+
    +     GRACE=300+
    +     SYSTEM_ACCESS=FASTPATH+
    +     MINDISPATCHTHREADS=0+
    +     MAXDISPATCHTHREADS=1+
    +     THREADSTACKSIZE=0+
    +     RQPERM=0666+
    +     REPLYQ=Y+
    +     RPPERM=0666+
    +     CONV=N+
    +...+
    cleard     SRVGRP=CLEARDRELCOM
    SRVID=1900
    CLOPT="-e /appli/tuxedo/log/CCSP01P0/stderr1900 -o /appli/tuxedo/log/CCSP01P0/stdout1900 -s DB_RELCOM  -p1,60:2,30 -- -cbdir /appli/tuxedo/log/CCSP01P0/CBcache1900"
    SEQUENCE=1900
    RQADDR=relcomQ
    MIN=4
    MAX=6
After the initial boot it appears that some of the four initial processes are stopped and not restarted by the BBL.
So my interrogation is the following :
    - Does the MIN parameters defined only the number of processes to be started or also the minimum number of processes to be present at any time ?
    - Does the "-p" parameters in the CLOPT can decaying processes under the MIN parameters value ?

We have a branch office, currently housing 10 staff.
The office is to be expanded to 16.
Currently staff are using thin clients and logging into our Citrix Xenapp 6.5 server every day
The server comfortably copes with the 10 heads so far and is licenced to handle 20 concurrent connections.
What is the minimum number of heads before you would recommend adding a server to a branch office?

  • Business Process Monitoring: Activate Business Processes

    Hi!
I am on SAP Solution Manager 7.0 and have the following SAP landscape:
    SAP XI/PI, SAP ERP 2005.
I would like to monitor the IDOCs sending from SAP ERP to SAP XI in Business Process Monitoring.
I successfully acitvated the Business Process Monitoring.
    My problem:
I cannot choose/see any business processes in the area Business Process Monitoring Setup --> Business Processes.
I already defined the Solution Support Organization with 2 members and choossed all the monitoring roles.
    Qurstion
How to make visible any business processes in this area?
    Thank you very much!
    regards

    Hello Thom,
perhaps you should also have a look into the Setup Guide for Interface Monitoring under https://service.sap.com/bpm --> Media Library --> Technical Information.

  • Approval process monitor status turn to "Initiated" instead of "Pending", so awe is not routed

When I submit a transaction, after successful submission in approval process monitor the status has turn "Initiated" instead of "Pending". That's why it's showing "Not Routed" for the next approving person. So that worklist is not populated.
Please suggest me to resolve this issue.
Process Monitor as follows after submission:
    Separation Approval Process (Stage)
    Initiated (Monitor status)
Approval Routing from Unit HR (Path)
Not Routed    (Step)                                                    Not Routed      (Step)
    Multiple Approvers                                                     Multiple Approvers
    STATEHR ROLEUSER SEPARATION                              Central Hr
    (Userlist)                                                                        (Userlist)

Looking at the error message "The Network Adapter could not establish the connection" , It appears hostname and port may be incorrect. Review the targets.xml under E:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\SAP_solman_SDB\emd and
emoms.properties under E:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\SAP_solman_SDB\config folder to make sure host ( sap_solman) and port (1527) are correct.
As far as setting the environment variables goes, you can go to control panel -> system -> advanced -> environment variables and set the ORACLE_HOME and ORACLE_SID

  • What is a normal number of processes to appear in activity monitor?

When I go into Activity Monitor and click on "All Processes", I have anywhere from 50-62 processes going on. A friend told me this was far too many, but she uses a different operating system than I do.
I have a 10.4.11 OS on a Macbook that I bought in January of 2007.
My computer overheats fairly easily, so I'm not sure if there is a problem here. It has typically maintained a number of around 60-62, but when I restart it, the numbers drop to a 56 or so and slowly rebuild. I recently downloaded Sophos, an antivirus program, which takes up 4 processes (don't know if that's normal).
Is this a typical number of processes (these are the numbers when I have no main programs, like Safari/Microsoft Office/itunes/other open), or do I need to do some kind of cleaning? And if I do need cleaning, what should I do?

Sophos is a real problem here, but on a PPC G5 PowerMac, so I never installed it on anything else.
My eMac/1.42/2G/10.5.8 has about 60 to 70 Processes showing, can check 10.4.11 tomorrow if you wish, but while it depends on so many factors, I don't consider yours abnormal at all.
do I need to do some kind of cleaning? And if I do need cleaning, what should I do?
If anything, At this point I think you should get Applejack...
    http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/15667/applejack
After installing, reboot holding down CMD+s, (+s), then when the DOS like prompt shows, type in...
    applejack AUTO
Then let it do all 6 of it's things.
At least it'll eliminate some questions if it doesn't fix it.
The 6 things it does are...
    Correct any Disk problems.
    Repair Permissions.
    Clear out Cache Files.
    Repair/check several plist files.
Dump the VM files for a fresh start.
    Trash old Log files.
First reboot will be slower, sometimes 2 or 3 restarts will be required for full benefit... my guess is files relying upon other files relying upon other files!

    Hi,
    You can use the MP
System Center Management Pack for Windows Server Operating System
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=9296
"Other Requirements: All management packs (MPs) included in this download are supported on System Center Operations Manager 2007 R2 and above."

  • SCOM 2007 R2 Root Management server showing Not Monitored State in Ops Mgr Console

    Hello Experts,
In my Prod SCOM 2007 R2 environment RMS server state is "Not Monitored", But we are receiving alerts with limitation. By mistakenly I put Maintenance Mode while rebooting RMS server due to slow performance of the server.
Can anybody help me to revert back to the RMS Health state ?

We can identify the Performance Signature Data Collection Rules in this example by executing the following SQL Query. This query should be executed in SQL Management Studio against the Operations Manager database.
-- Return all Performance Signature Collection Rules
    Use OperationsManager
    select
    managementpack.mpname,
    rules.rulename
    from performancesignature with (nolock)
    inner join rules with (nolock)
    on rules.ruleid = performancesignature.learningruleid
    inner join managementpack with(nolock)
    on rules.managementpackid = managementpack.managementpackid
    group by managementpack.mpname, rules.rulename
    order by managementpack.mpname, rules.rulename
This query will return all Performance Signature Collection Rules and their respective Management Pack name. A column is returned for Management Pack name and Rule name.
The following Performance Monitor Counters on a Management Server will provide information concerning Database and Data Warehouse write action insertion batch size and time. If the batch size is growing larger, for example the default batch size is 5000 items,
this indicates either the Management Server is slow inserting the data to the Database or Data Warehouse, or is receiving a burst of Data Items from the Agents or Gateway Servers.
    · OpsMgr DB Write Action Modules(*)\Avg. Batch Size
    · OpsMgr DB Write Action Modules(*)\Avg. Processing Time
    · OpsMgr DW Writer Module(*)\Avg. Batch Processing Time, ms
    · OpsMgr DW Writer Module(*)\Avg. Batch Size
From the Database and Data Warehouse write action account Average Processing Time counter, we can understand how long it takes on average to write a batch of data to the Database and Data Warehouse. Depending upon the amount of time it takes to write a batch
of data to the Database, this may present an opportunity for tuning.

  • Share Point 2013 MP for SCOM 2007 R2 - Not Monitored State

    Hi All,

  • Report with all monitors & their threshold for a server for SCOM 2007 R2

    Hi,
I need a report with all monitored monitors & rules with their effective threshold for SCOM 2007 R2. I tried few scripts & tools mentioned on different blogs, but not getting anything.
Any help in this regard would be highly appreciated.
    TIA

This would be a custom report, which is not available to my knowledge. You need to consider overrides, and this is the crux of the situation. What you can do is open the pack in MPViewer, and export the pack which will contain the thresholds. And you could
also create an override view, in My Workspace, based on the pack you are interested in.
Otherwise, it will be a custom TSQL query or stored procedure, that you may incorporate into your custom report.

Thanks for the question Sandoss. This is something that we all come across at sometime.

The lack of this feature is an inexcusable oversight for an enterprise management product.  They have some serious lightweights making design decisions on the SCOM team. 5 thumbs down.
BTW the answer is probably LOTS of stuff. Literally 100's of workflows are running on any server.
The following OpsMgr DB query will list all running monitors on a server. Change the name of @srv. I think this works pretty well.  I'd like some feedback if something is missing.
    DECLARE @srv varchar(30)
SET @srv = 'your name here'
SELECT mon.displayName as monitor, bme.FullName,bme.DisplayName as object,
    case
        when s.HealthState = 1 then 'healthy'
        when s.HealthState = 2 then 'Warning'
        when s.HealthState = 3 then 'Critical'
        else 'N/A'
    end as Health
FROM state AS s WITH (NOLOCK)
left join BaseManagedEntity as bme WITH (NOLOCK) on s.basemanagedentityid = bme.basemanagedentityid
left join dbo.MonitorView Mon WITH (NOLOCK) on Mon.ID = s.monitorid
    where
    bme.FullName like '%' + @srv + '%'

    and mon.IsInternalRollupMonitor = 0
    and mon.IsExternalRollupMonitor = 0

    Hi
DPM will write its own events. You can create your own management pack for SCOM to monitor the events on the Exchange server but SCOM has an exchange management pack you can install.

I would like to know if there is SCSM 2012 SP1 MP available for SCOM 2007 R2 ?

http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=29980 and then import into SCOM 2007 R2, however, I found that there are some MP dependencies issue.
For example, the "Microsoft System Center Service Manager Library" MP requires "Microsoft SystemCenter Library" and "System.Health.Library" MPs of version 7.0.8427.0. Howerver, the "Microsoft SystemCenter Library"

    Hi,
Based on my understanding, that you want to create a monitor to monitor certificate expiration, with two state, when the certificate is about expiration for 21 days,, send warning, when the certificate is about expiration for 10 days, then send
alert. I think we need to create scripts to do so, hope the below links can be helpful:
