Process Object usage in the HR Administrative Services

Hello,
Does anybody have more details on how the process object is used in the HR Administrative Services in mySAP ERP 2005?
The SAP Online Help doc we have says that the process object is the data persistence object in this workflow.   I'd like to find out the following:
1) how to save data into a process object
2) how to retrieve data from it later in the workflow
3) ultimately how is the process object itself persisted?  As an independent XML file, an XML file stored as a record in the relational DB, or as a bunch of records in the relational DB?
Thanks,
Ye

The process object can be picked from the workflow by reading the context of workflow.
You can analyse this in the workflow process provided by SAP i.e. transfer process etc.

  • HCMPF - Process Object info in the generic service

    Hi,
I would like to have process information (Process Object GUID or Process Reference Number) in the back end generic service i.e BAdi implementation of Interface IF_HRASR00GEN_SERVICE during runtime. How we would do this?
    Thank You,
    Naddy.

    Hi Mukesh,
I guess Process reference Number is created after 'Check and Step'. The documentation says, the process object gets created when process is initialized. I need this Process Object GUID  in the form generic service (step 'Fill out Form') to get the details of process.
I have added following fields in the methods GET_SPECIAL_FIELDS, GET_OPERATIONS, GET_FIELD_INFO of generic service interface IF_HRASR00GEN_SERVICE.
    1) PROCESS_GUID
    2) CASE_GUID
    3) STEP_GUID
    4) STEP_OBJECT_GUID
I would like to get the  Process Object GUID  in the method DO_OPERATIONS of generic service generic service interface IF_HRASR00GEN_SERVICE.
Thank you very much for your help.

  • Where is the integrated administration service for VO 1.6.1?

I am unable to find in docs or elsewhere where the integrated admin
service is. When I do server/vo I am automatically at the user portal,
but nothing is working there because I presumably need to turn it on.
When I log in to the admin page, even using the admin login, I'm told
I'm logged in as myself and can't do a lot because I'm "not a portal
    administrator".
This is VO 1.6.1 installed on NW65SP6 from the overlay CD.

Thanks. I was able to get this set up right by loggin in to the client

  • What's the recommended setting for "Process memory usage" ("process virtual" in UI) for a 64-bit host on a 64-bit OS?

    Hi gurus
In resource based throttling, what's the recommended setting for "Process memory usage" ("process virtual" in the resource based throttling tab of the UI) for a 64-bit host
    on a 64-bit Windows OS?
    According to MS (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee308808(v=bts.10).aspx):
    "By default, the
Process memory usage throttling threshold is set to 25. If this value is exceeded and the BizTalk process memory usage is more than 300 MB, a throttling condition may occur. On a 32-bit
server, you can increase the Process memory usage value to 50. On a 64-bit server, you can increase this value to 100. This allows for more memory consumption by the BizTalk process before throttling
    occurs."
Does this mean that 100 is the recommended setting for a 64-bit host on a 64-bit Windows?
    Thanks
    Michael Brandt Lassen

    Hi Michael,
Recommended setting is the default setting which is 25 .dot.
If your situation is abnormal and you see message delivery throttling state to “4” when the following performance counters are high or if you expect any of you integration
process could have impact on following counters, then you can consider the suggestion by Microsoft. Don’t change the default setting.
    High process memory
    Process memory usage (MB)
    Process memory usage threshold (MB)
You can see these counters under “BizTalk:MessageAgent”
You can gauge these performance counter and its maximum values if have done any regression/performance testing in your test servers. If you have seen these counters having
high values and causing throttling, then you can update the Process memory usage.
Or unexpectedly you’re process high throughput messages in production which is causing these counters to go high and cause throttling, then up can update the Process memory
    usage.
The above two cases where I know my expected process usage (by doing performance testing) or suddenly my production server processing has gone high due to unexpected business
hike (or any reasons) which caused throttling, then do changes to default throttling setting.
Just changing the default setting without actual reason could have adverse effect where you end up allocating
more processing capacities but the actual message processing message usage ever is low means you end up investing in underutilised resources.

  • HCM F&P: Error in process object reading

    Hi Experts,
I am working on Employee Transfer scenario. So I copied the standard Process ORG_CHANGE and made the changes in Workflow, Form scenario and Form according to my reqirement . But when the Reciever manager opens the form it is throwing one error like" Error reading in process object" . But the form is not blank, it has the text elements, buttons etc.I am stuck here and dont know how to move further.
Process Object in Workflow container the following properties
    Type CL_HRASR00_WF_PROCESS_OBJECT, properties:IMPORT , initial value :CL_HRASR00_WF_PROCESS_OBJECT
    Name :POBJ
Does anybody know why this error is coming?
    Thanks & regards,

    Hi Lek/Chris,
    Hope you are doing great!!.
I am having a problem with ORG_CHANGE Process. I copied the one, and the issue I have is the new Position selected by Receiving manager is not being passed onto the next subsequent steps 3. Approve by superior MGR and 4. HR Admin scenario steps.  When the one-up manager opens the form the New Position is blank and for HR Admin it shows the drop down but it doesn't populate the new position selected by Receiving Manager.
I found some SAP notes where the values get lost if you have a mix of SAP_PA and Generic Services. We are going to implement them.
In the meantime,  Any help or hint will be appreciated.
    Thanks in Advance!!

  • Essbase Administration Services: Cant connect to Administration Server

Cant connet to Administration Server via EAS console. I would appreciate any hints that might help me overcome this next unknown.
    Background follows:
I installed EPMA 11.1.2.2, and then went to the workspace wondering where the sample data was (after I created a sample app). I discovered in docs and forumns that I had to load it through the Essbase Administration Services console. Now I'm trying to get that to work. I installed it after posts revealed that it is part of the client installers (thanks John) package. Now that it is installed I run it, try to login, and get an error message that says "could not connect to Administration Server." I reinstalled the EAS database as a new install to my server.mydomainb.org:1433 via the configurator. Then I redployed all the apps to the app server. And lastly started all of the services. Still I get the same message. I've done this about 4 times hoping that a reconfig will somehow fix something but still no joy. I've also tried loggin in with different names for the server such as myserver:1433 or myserver.mydomain.org:1433 or myserver and none of those helped either.
I have manually started all the services so they appear to be working. I may be missing one but I wouldn't know.
The services that are running include:
Hyperion EPM Server - Web Application
    Hyperion EPMA Server
    Hyperion Financial Data Quality Management
    Hyperion Integration Services
    Hyperion Reporting and Analysis Framework
    Hyperion Studion Services BPMS bpms1
Some in posts have suggested also going to the logs. 11.1.2.2 docs say that the EAS logs are located at oracle_home\user_projects\domains\epmsystem\servers\EssAdm..Services0\logs\easserver.log. But I found mine at:
<oracle_home>\user_projects\domains\epmsystem1\servers\logs. You will notice that my empsystem is empsystem1 instead. There I found that the easserver.log file is empty but I did find one error in the file EPMServer0.log. The error I found is as follows:
    ####<Apr 4, 2013 11:42:09 AM MDT> <Error> <JDBC> <SLCBRASSTEST> <EPMServer0> <[ACTIVE] ExecuteThread: '18' for queue: 'weblogic.kernel.Default (self-tuning)'> <<WLS Kernel>> <> <> <1365097329966> <BEA-001112> <Test "select count(*) from SERVERLOGID" set up for pool "eas_datasource" failed with exception: "java.sql.SQLSyntaxErrorException: [FMWGEN][SQLServer JDBC Driver][SQLServer]Invalid object name 'SERVERLOGID'.".>
I'm not sure what to try next so any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks!

"Hyperion EPM Server - Web Application" indicates that the web apps have been deployed to a single managed server, this means the web apps will be running a default port of 9000, the EAS console is not aware of the port so you will need to include it when you add the server in the console e.g. servername:9000
    Cheers

  • Process Object Layer

    Hi,
I just encountered a concept of POL(Process Object Layer).
It seems that POL has a particular layer in ABAP stack to help process management.
    How does POL work?
I would like to know how PO is used in interface and BPM technically.
Also, my another question is about SOA approach in technical.
If there are unit function modules/web services that can present an enterprise service,
then should we expose single enterprise service putting together all the relevant unit services?
Or should we build process object or business processes to orchestrate single processes?
Looking forward to hear from you, expert.

    Process Object Layer:
The Process Object Layer has been introduced as an additional software layer in the architecture model:
Communication between the software layers and the Process Object Layer is based on Web services. Back-end applications are therefore integrated across all systems.
To communicate with back-end systems, the layer consumes the synchronous and asynchronous services provided by the back-end systems.
The layer can also consume services from non-SAP systems.
The layer provides new object-specific services (POT/PROT services) for the business processes to be implemented. These can in turn be consumed by front-end applications or tools for process orchestration (such as SAP Business Process Management).
This layer therefore acts as a mediator between back-end system and front-end channels. It enables transparent status and event management for all business objects that are involved in a business process.
Data required for the business process is persisted.
Business Process Management (BPM) Process: POT is integrated with BPM. The BPM orchestrates the POT services sequence.
Using BPM is optional for orchestrating a POT. We can also use other tools for handling errors.
    Thanks & Best Regards,
    Deependra

  • ISR Process object - Workflow is not getting triggered -

    Hi
I am facing some strange problem, in my project we are using the new HCM concept using Process Object and not the Notification type,
I have take standard scenario SBC1 - child birth, done the config and checked the form and also process its not giving any error.
But when i tried test process execution "HRASR_TEST_PROCESS", getts error message " Work Item Not Found; Workflow Not Started" and "Process Object Not Created",
when i check the log in SLG1 tcode for Object: HRASR, Subobject: POBJ. "Case 46CC2D7604BB275EE1000000995893A9 does not exist. No administration authorization in Change and Transport System", this error message only consfuse me more.
Can you help me on this, if you required i will send the screen shot of the error message
    Regards
    Anand KS

In most cases, this means that the 'Start Process' is not configured correctly. Take a look at the following:
    1. make sure that the Wf assigned to your start process is active
    2. make sure that reference numbers are configured and assigned to your process
    3. assign a user to receive error messages when an error occurs

  • Services for object in transaction EHSAMBTAET (Health Center Services)

    Hi all.
In transaction PA30 there is a functionality called "services for object". I would like to have this functionality in the transaction EHSAMBTAET (Health Center Services) as well. At the moment when you choose it in the menu it just says: "No services available". Can anybody give me a hint on how to do this?
    Many thanks
    Liselotte

As far as I know, that "Services for object" is the Global Object Services (GOS), and requires a Business Object (BOR).
The Health Center Service doesnt currently provide such a BOR object.

i am trying to to run the change employee group and sub group PCR. The manages changes an employee employee sub group in EP adobe form.
Does not a email go to the administrator asking him to change the information for the employee in contention?
How does the administrator some to know that there is a pending PCR to be processed.
How does the HR administrator Process the PCR ? Through What transaction in the ECC system or the i View ( is it UWL ?? ) in EP
    gogol

    Suresh,
Thansk for youe inputs. I have used the employee group and employee sub group and the work flow triggers.
    so far its working OK.
    I have a question,
Is there no way to process this work item from portal UWL? Does the HR admin have to log on to ECC system and go to IQS22 to process this PCR? Cannot he in anyway do it directly from portals? And the work item ( in the back end and UWL) does not seem to contain the Manager's PCR adobe form. Looks like this adobe form could only be seen from IQS22 transaction.
Not sure if I am missing anything but the process looks incomplete to me with the associated HR administrator needing to go to couple of places to do things.

  • Process object missing in workflow task

    Hi all,
I have this odd problem that occurs (seemingly) at random.
I have a workflow for Material Master creation, it has various forks in the flow, sometimes the process object i.e. the material master object is missing in the workflow task under the available objects tab. It only seems to happen in one of the branches of the fork, also it only seems to be one user who gets this problem, so it makes me think it's something he's doing.
How is it possible that an object which was previously available in the task is no longer available?
    any help greatly appreciated.
    Neil

    Hi,
thanks for the reply, by "missing" I mean it is no longer instantiated in the workflow task. I have determined this by looking in the workflow log and checking the task container.
The binding for the task is correct, I am using the same task in all branches of the fork and in the other branches the material object is instantiated.
I have learnt a bit more about the scenario in the last few minutes... it seems that when the task was created initially the object was instantiated, but the user has backed out of the transaction and not completed the work item leaving it in his inbox with a status of "executed" it is only then that the process object is missing. This doesn't seem to happen to any other user so it's something he is doing that is causing the problem.

    Please try below mentioned steps:
    1. Central Administration > Monitoring > Review job definitions > Look for following timer job "Application Server Administration Service Timer Job" > Disable

  • The Managed Metadata Service or Connection is currently not available. The Application Pool or Managed Metadata Web Service may not have been started. Please Contact your Administrator.

    Hi,
I'm not able to access the term store. I get an below mentioned error.
"The Managed Metadata Service or Connection is currently not available. The Application Pool or Managed Metadata Web Service may not have been started. Please Contact your Administrator. "
Since this is happening on my local machine (Dev environment). I have full control on the term store and the all the site collections.
Hence, this is not a permission issue.
I have checked, the Metadata service is active on the machine. All the application pools in IIS is running.
After reading one of the recommendation on internet, I created a new Managed Metadata Service.
After which I was able access both (old and new) MMS from Central Admin only (highlight the MMS from manage service applications and click Manage ) and not from the site collection (term store management).
Now again its not working after I did an IISRESET.
The managed metadata service (Managed Metadata Service Connection) is grayed out.
    ULS Error says:
Failed to create ManageLink for service proxy 'Managed Metadata Service'. Exception: System.TimeoutException: The request channel timed out attempting to send after 00:00:09.9999999. Increase the timeout value passed to the call to Request or increase the SendTimeout

Please let me know if you need more information.

    Hi Victoria,
    Thanks for your reply
I tried making all the changes you had recommended and which are mentioned in the link you have provided.
I tried making all possible combination of changes to the web.config and client.config files but it does not make any difference to the environment.
One thing is that, my error in ULS logs has changed.
    Error 1:

  • Background processes using Administration Services

Where does the background process execute when submitted through Administration Services?I think probably it would escecute on the server which is running the Administrative Services server, but want to verify this.We are running Administrative Services 6.5.3.Thanks

    As an update:
The "However, this time the database "Invoke" activity is showing the following warning:" is not the issue.
I replaced the starter Partner link in the BPEL process and created it, again, using the BPEL designer. I left the ESB Adapter partner link for the database insert.
    This deploysand executes without issue.
So the issue seems to be that it did not like the ESB file read service as the initiating Partner link.
I will try and discover why!
    Regards
    A.
