Process of snp

hi
This is Prasanna from Banglore please tell me the overall steps starting from model to end of SNP process.
I mean overall steps in SNP process. And process in PP/DS.
thanks
prasanna

Starting from a demand plan, Supply Network Planning determines a permissible short- to medium-term plan for fulfilling the estimated sales volumes. This plan covers both the quantities that must be transported between two locations (for example, distribution center to customer or production plant to distribution center), and the quantities to be produced and procured. When making a recommendation, Supply Network Planning compares all logistical activities to the available capacity.
The Deployment function determines how and when inventory should be deployed to distribution centers, customers, and vendor-managed inventory accounts. It produces optimized distribution plans based on constraints (such as transportation capacities) and business rules (such as minimum cost approach, or replenishment strategies).
The Transport Load Builder (TLB) function maximizes transport capacities by optimizing load building
Please check out for SNP Process here and
We use the Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling (PP/DS) component:
· To create procurement proposals for in-house production or external procurement to cover product requirements
·To optimize and plan the resource schedule and the order dates/times in detail
You can take the resource and component availability into account here. Above all, PP/DS is used to plan critical products, such as products with long replenishment lead times or products that are produced on bottleneck resources. You can use PP/DS to create executable production plans and:
·Reduce lead times
·Increase on-time delivery performance
·Increase the throughput of products and reduce the stock costs, through better coordination of resources, production, and procurement
Please check this for PPDS in detail

  • Supply chain modeling of subcontraction process using SNP

    Dear Experts,
I am in the phase of designing my  supply chain business process  in APO
    We have two plants
    Plant u2013 A (manufacturing )
    Plant u2013 B (distribution center)
    Subcontractors  - for Plant A
    Subcon-1
    Subcon-2
    Subcon-3
    Subcon-4
    Subcon-5
    Subcon-6
    Subcon-7
Demand planning /forecast is done on the basis of
    Customer
    Products
    And Plant
When forecast is done in demand planning an send to SNP , system must give planned order on the basis of  available capacity , low cost of production  of the my subcontractor  ,I believe I need to use SNP optimization
Does SNP Optimizer can serve my requirement
Also how do I need to define my subcontractor  either as DC location or just a MRP area
Please do not hesitate to ask more details if you are not clear my requirement
    Thanks & Regard
    Raj

    Hi Raju,
The Optimizer should serve your requirement as it considers the capacity constraints and can be used for finite planning. Regarding subcontracting location , you can map it as either a DC location or a Subcontractor location. Better way would be to map it as a subcontracting location. Mapping it as just MRP area would not serve as you want it to consider during the finite planning runs for optimizer.
Let me know if it helps

  • How to configure CVC automation process using SNP master data and BI customer master data

    Hi Gurus,
How to configure CVC automation in MPOS structure technically, using SNP master data in CVC creation such as Product and location details
and in parallel extract date from ECC to BI customer master data in DP. Where-in a APO BI cube should have only new combinations which are to be validated with ECC and existing combinations in the MPOS structure before creation of CVC in different regions of MPOS.
Second the automation should also check certain validations of product, location and are part of SNP-ECC master data and are these new combinations.
Could someone guide us in this process.
    Thanks
    Kumar

    Praveen,
The short answer is to move the data into infoproviders or flat files for all of the 'characteristic-type' source data; and then copy CVCs from the infoproviders into the Planning area, probably using one or more Process Chains (program /SAPAPO/TS_PLOB_MAINTAIN).
The long answer is that this is not a trivial undertaking; this could end up being a pretty involved solution.  If you do not have enough BW/DP expertise available locally to create this solution for you, then I recommend you consider engaging external resources to assist you.  I personally wouldn't even consider starting to work on such a solution without first knowing a lot more about the detailed business requirements, and about any existing solutions that may already in place.  An SCN forum is not really suitable for such an answer.  In my opinion, the BBP doc alone would be 20+ pages, assuming no enhancements..

  • Note 514947 - Direct processing of SNP stock transfers with the TLB

    Hi,
I am working on an APO application, where I have implemented note no: 514947; where in it is updating the tables.
But our functionality even needs to invoke the Purchase Requisitions.
So is there any configuration need to be set from functional end to achieve this?
    Regards,
    Sure

In the source code I found the condition after which the error message. Maybe someone can comment on it:
       CALL FUNCTION '/ SAPAPO/MSDP_CUS_SDP10_GET'
          EXPORTING
            iv_appl = gc_dep_app
          IMPORTING
            ev_nvorder_status = lv_ordstat.
        IF lv_ordstat = gc_ordstat_purchase_order.
    messagethrow '/ SAPAPO / SDP_TLBGUI' 'E' '031 '
                         space space space space.
Bestellungen können in aktiver Version nicht bearbeitet werden
    savelog_and_exit.
        ENDIF.
Function / SAPAPO/MSDP_CUS_SDP10_GET lv_ordstat returns the value "2" (Shipment). After that condition is met and an error message.
This FM, as I realized that something checks the setting up SPRO - APO - Supply Chain Planning - SNP - Configure Transfer to OLTP System
Perhaps in this setting, there is an option I need?

    Hi Ronald,
As required, more details and explanations as below.
    1) SNP is a rought cut planning cycle
    2) It involves 3 engines heuristic, ctm and optimiser
    3) It basically plans for infinite planning and in some cases finite too
    4) It has engines capable of producing optimised results with huge
    constraints taken into account
    5) It works based on master data like resource, product, location,
    quota, transportation lane, costs etc.,
    6) SNP plans based on DP output as forecast
    7) Using forecast, it plans for production, procurement and distributes
    its planning results
    8) The SNP planning outputs are in the form of purchase requisitions
    and planned orders
    9) The outputs are again (optional) sent to PPDS for further detailed
    planning (depends on the scenario)
    10) Capacity levelling is part of SNP life cycle process to level the
    bucket outputs
    11) Optimiser basically considers costs into account for planning
    12) Transportation lanes are basically maintained for Deployment
    and TLB generations
    13) In SNP, system tries to compensate between demand Vs
    supplies.
Hope it is more clear to you now.
    Please confirm

  • SNP Capacity view - Wrong Capacity consumption

    Dear All,
Our client facing this critical issue..
In our scenario we have SNP and PPDS are using for planning, issue is related SNP Capacity view..
PPDS orders (firmed planned order, process orders) are not reflecting properly in SNP Capacity view , issues are we can put it into two category
    Category 1
We are running PPDS planning run for 3 week , at every Wednesday , after the PPDS planning run, if you check in PPDS DS board or Resource utilization report, we can see the resource are consumed say 87%, but when we you check the same in SNP Capacity view you may see only 60% or like, from the detailed analysis it came to know that some of the products are reflecting in SNP Capacity view, this is only with PPDS planned order or process orders , SNP planned orders are consumed properly in SNP Capacity view (this analyzed with respect  to deployment view, (PPDS order also reflecting properly in Deployment view) ( Production confirmed)) because of this wrong data user not able to take proper decision from SNP Capacity view.
    Category 2
Scenario is same as previous one, here some time later (say for example next day) some of the products  are reflecting in SNP Capacity view. This occurring randomly.
Can any one guide me , what would be the reason for this
From our end we done following activities
1)analyzed the master data didn't find any issue
    2) Constancy check done for LiveCache and Planning area
    Thanks in advance

  • Scheduling in SNP

how is scheduling done for orders in SNP
    Thanks

    Hi,
The main process in SNP before scheduling is the source determination. The Source of supply for a demand will be determined based on various factors like procurement type, Quota arrangements, priority, procurement costs etc. Then based on the determined SoS, the scheduling will be done as a normal scheduling like ECC MRP (with inhouse production time maintained in PDS or other procurement times).
Please refer the below link for details on Source determination

For Reporting perpose we required to take backup of SNP planning Area,so that i can save SNP planning Area data in Info cube.I would like to see data in Infocube according to Product,Location & Resource wise only. So that i can use this data for reporting perpose.
Can we create whole data flow process for SNP Planning Area?
We have lot of Product & resources in APO,so is it feasible to take backup of SNP planning Area?
I want to take backup of SNP planning area only for reporting perpose,so that i can publish report according to my Product,Location & Resources.

    Attaching note 428147
    Summary
    Symptom
When extracting data from an SNP planning area, you must take account of some special features. These are explained in this note.
    Solution
          1. Data can be extracted only for existing SNP aggregates.
          Existing SNP aggregates are:
              o 9AAC (9AACTNAME)
              o 9AACPR (9AACTNAME, 9APPMNAME)
              o 9ALA (9ATRNAME)
              o 9ALO (9ALOCNO)
              o 9ALORE (9ALOCNO, 9ARNAME)
              o 9AMA (9AMATNR)
              o 9AMALA (9AMATNR, 9ATRNAME)
              o 9AMALARE (9AMATNR, 9ARNAME, 9ATRNAME)
              o 9AMALO (9ALOCNO, 9AMATNR)
              o 9AMALORE (9ALOCNO, 9AMATNR, 9ARNAME)
              o 9AMAPR (9AMATNR, 9APPMNAME)
              o 9AMARE (9AMATNR, 9ARNAME)
              o 9APR (9APPMNAME)
              o 9ARE (9ARNAME)
              o 9AREPR (9APPMNAME, 9ARNAME)
Only the characteristic/characteristic combinations contained in these aggregates may be used in the InfoSource, transfer structure and transfer rules. The simplest way of doing this is by always generating Export-DataSources for SNP planning areas to one of the aggregates and not to the Basis planning object structure '9ASNPBAS'.A typical result of using the Basis planning object structure '9ASNPBAS' without correcting the transfer structure is that, while data is transferred to a RemoteCube, it cannot be extracted in a BasisCube.
As of APO 3.0 Support Package 17 (or note 443613), only export DataSources for aggregates can be generated in SNP planning areas  they are no longer generated for the Basis planning object structure.
Furthermore, note that the navigation attributes 9ATTYPE, 9ALOCTO, and 9ALOCFROM up to APO 3.0 Support Package 17 (or note 441653) must be deleted from the transfer structure for the SNP aggregates '9AMALA' (9AMATNR/9ATRNAME) and '9AMALARE' (9AMATNR/9ATRNAME/9ARNAME). These navigation attributes can be used from the specified correction.
Due to technical restrictions the characteristics '9ATRNAME' and '9ATTYPE' can only be restricted with single values in the selection for the data extraction. The use of intervals and formatting characters (+/*) is not allowed for these characteristics.
          2. For an SNP aggregate, only the key figures assigned to it can be extracted. You can see which key figures are assigned to an aggregate in transaction /SAPAPO/MSDP_ADMIN on the Key figure assignment tab of the relevant planning area. As of APO 3.0 Support Package 17 (or note 439366), only the key figures assigned to this aggregate are taken into account when an export DataSource is being generated for aggregates.
          3. During the definition of queries, the following restrictions apply:
In the case of queries for the aggregate '9AMALA', certain key figures can only ever be extracted with another key figure. The key figure combinations that can only be extracted together are:
              o (9AFSHIP, 9ADMDDF, 9ADMDDFVMI)
              o (9AFSHIPLP, 9ADMDDFLP)
              o (9AFSHIPVMI, 9ADMDDFVMI)
              o (9APSHIP, 9ADMDDI, 9ADMDDIVMI)
              o (9APSHIPLP, 9ADMDDILP)
              o (9APSHIPVMI, 9ADMDDIVMI)
              o (9ATSHIP, 9ADMDDT, 9ADMDDTVMI)
              o (9ATSHIPVMI, 9ADMDDTVMI)

Here's some info on working with plists:
    http://developer.apple.com/documentation/Cocoa/Conceptual/PropertyLists/Introduc tion/chapter1_section1.html
They can be edited with any text editor. Xcode provides a graphical editor for them - make sure to use the .plist extension so Xcode will recognize it.

    hi,
you have to goto LISTCUBE. Where you can get the no of records per month. There you have to specify the particulour month of fiscal period.
-Click on manage tab of the cube and go to content and then click on fact table. you can see no. of recs.
-same for ods and click on active table button. you can see no. of records.
    -go to Se16
enter table name RSRREPDIR . Press F8
Enter your cube name. also give OBJVERS = A .. execute..
Take the ODS active table name /BIC/AXXXXXXX00
enter in SE16 and enter and click on number of entries button on top.

  • Dynamic safety stock in PP/DS

    Hello,
My question is about how PP/DS uses dynamic safety stock. I use safety stock keyfigure in SNP to calculate dynamic safety stock and make it available for PP/DS. When I run planning heuristic in PP/DS, does heuristic go and execute the macro?
Let me give an example case.
A is header, B is component of A. When I make a full planning run in PP/DS, first A is planned, then using dependent demands from A, B is planned. While planning B, safety stock also must be calculated. Is this process an inteactive process between SNP and PP/DS? I mean, PP/DS creates planned orders  for A, then dependent demand generated for B. When it comes to plan B, heuristic calls SNP and macros calculate SS and SS is used in PP/DS heuristic as requirement? Is the process like that? or Do i have to run SNP either online or bacgrounf first, calculate SS there, and then run PP/DS heuristic?
    Thanks,
    E

    Somnath, Harish;
Thanks for your help. I read all these notes and threads. But I could not find the answer to my question.
First of all, I am using SS method MB. not an extended safety stock method.
I want to implement the same SS calculation as in R/3 coverage profile. In coverage profile, average daily requirement is calculated using X weeks of demand, and  Y days of SS is calculated. I want to do the same calculation in APO.
We are using PP/DS for short term planning. Here my question is in which way SS is calculated while running planing heuristic in PP/DS. I listed 2 possible ways, can you please tell which way PP/DS work?
    1) PP/DS will run for the example BOM structure I gave before. So, in this example, I need to run planning for header material first in order to find dependent demand for component. Then I need to make planning for component. If I calculate SS in SNP before starting to run PP/DS for header material, SS for component is calculated in SNP using the demand calculated before PP/DS planning run. Is this how dynamic SS works?
    2) or when I run planning for component, does PP heuristic call SNP macro and calculates SS with the most updated demand situation?
    Thanks,
    Ergul

  • Does APO support the simplified CrossCompany STO scenario from ECC ?

    Hello experts,
I'm seeking for some short infos around using / support of the "single document CrossCompany StockTransfer Order" process from ECC and whether this can be used within APO. If someone has some experience with this I would be happy to hear any feedback on this.
The starting point is that we use today an APO planning process for cross company replenishment via the famous 2-documents flow (IC PurchOrder --> IC SalesOrder) and we wanted to check if APO-SNP can support the simplified STO scenario. The "beauty" of course is that you only have a single document to deal with in an intercompany process.
Can SNP create STO PReqs (is this only depenend on the source-of-supply definition in the vendor master in ECC) ?
Can SNP Deployment process such SNP STO PReqs at a hub location ("fair share" at supplying plant)?
Can TLB by used at a Hub to turn such "deployed" STO PReqs into STO PurchOrders in ECC ?
Is the fcst consumption of such STOs working in the supplying plant side ?
Are there any serious / known limitations working with STO in APO (using Interchangeability, using GATP in the supplying plant side to perform rescheduling by BOP on these STOs etc.)
Thanks for any hints or experience sharing !
    Regards
    Thomas

    Hi Frank,
thanks for the detailed info - this helps to find a way thru the larger documentation. In regards to applying / testing the RDS we will check getting an SCM sandbox "on-hand".
Beside this I started searching OSS on my initial question - note 1284461 - Release Restrictions for SAP SCM 7.0 seems have some items to around using  "STO" in APO SNP & GATP (see below).
Another note explicitely defines how to get the right "SourceOfSupply" definition into APO for the STO sceanrio: 1623475
So, what is basically left open for me is:
    * is TLB correctly working using "SNP Deployed STOs" ?
    * at the supplying plant of the STO (typically a central DC) - is GATP able to catch at least demand of such STOs for ATP qty consideration
    Regards
    Thomas
Stock Transport Order and product interchangeability
The functionality of product interchangeability in Stock Transport Orders (STO)s
    will not support
    - purchasing requisitions and scheduling agreements
    - old purchase transaction e.g. ME21
.. the handling in case of inconsistencies between confirmed quantity in STO/delivery
and real quantity in warehouse at time of goods issue can only be resolved as
    follows:
    - Either deletion and recreation of STO and delivery
    or
    - post goods issue with #real# quantity (reduce delivered quantity), post goods receipt and
set delivery complete indicator, correct situation in warehouse, create new STO
    item.
Backorder processing for Stock Transfer Orders - Rescheduling
The rescheduling for Stock Transfer Orders is done in LC during the update.
Rescheduling is supported during Backorder processing (BOP) but the results are
only consistent with LC scheduling if Configurable Process Scheduling (CPS) is
    used.

  • Demand Plng frcst

    hi 2all
After releasing of forecast from demand planning where does it saves in SNP and where does the planning starts and whats the starting process of SNP planning.
i mean process of SNP after getting demand plan
    pls help me out
    warm regards
    ricky

After releasing forcast for demand planning you can veiw this forcast in standarad SNP planning books and product veiw(/SAPAPO/RRP3).
In SNP you can plan fullfil this demand with internal or external procurement by Heuristic based planning or optimizer.
YOu need to have following master data in place for this purpose.
    Product master, Location, Tlane/PPM/PDS.
For optimization you additionaly need costs to be maintained.
