Process Order BOM Explosion

Hi Experts,
We are creating Rework Order for a Material, and before saving, the BOM is not exploded and no production version was read. However, when I open again the Rework Order, the order now has the BOM exploded, and prodution version was read (but except for the operations). What could be the set up in such a way that the rework order will not explode the BOM? Master Data setup? Config? This is weird cause in other materials, the BOM is not exploded when we make rework orders for them. Thanks in advance!

This problem might not be with any of the settings , please check wheather any status profile is defined and assigned to your order type .

Production Order, BOM explosion

Hello Guru,
I have a production order, which when view the Administration tab of it's creation was on 30.01.2009, but in the General Tab it start/finish date was 01.02.2009. And the confirmation was 02.02.2009. One of the component of the FG material for this order was subject for material substitution with change number effective on 01.02.2009. When i check the BOM list of the order it still display the old component A, but in its confirmation goods movement it already use component B the component A seen in the BOM list of the order was not been goods movement on the confirmation. How this happen? And also can you explain to me during creation, release,confirmation of order when is the time it really explode BOm for the Fg material?

Thanks Vivek it is clear to me the since the confirmation was been establish effective of the bom change.
But it is still not clear to me that the creation date of the order was 30.01.2009 and its start/finsih date in general tab is 01.02.2009, how was this happen?
And please explain to me the process of BOM explosion, that will be registed in the Master Data tab of the order, when this was really exploded? in the creation, released,confirmed? since in the master data it tells that BOM explosion was on 01.02.2009.

Changes in process order BOM

Hello,
I have a problem in process order. In the process order the quantity of one of the BOM item is different than the actual BOM.
I have checked that BOM has not been changed.
How do I find whether it was MRP that has exploded wrongly or there was any manual changes to the planned order or process order.
We do not have OCM.

Rajesh,
You will only be able to get a clue, whether any manual change is done or not. In the Component overview screen of the order scroll to the right side and check the defination of the Column with heading "<b>Chng Proc</b>." if this is with value <b>"1",</b> it means the order Component has been changed Manually.

Quote and Sales Order BOM Explosion

We are attempting to utilize a ETO process without PS. We create a sales quotation and begin to build a quote BOM (using type 1 production) and a Routing for the entered quotation. Eventually we decide to create a sales order with reference to the quote. We copy the quote, we copy the quote BOM (type 1 production) to create a sales order BOM (type 1 Production) and copy the quote routing to create a sales order routing. We however make a few additions/changes to the Sales order BOM. When we run MRP for the sales order the system pulls the quote BOM not the sales order BOM.
If we slightly adjusted this proccess and create a costing BOM (type 6) at the quote rather than the production BOM (type 1) and again create a sales order with reference to the quote copying the costing BOM to create a sales order type 1 production BOM MRP says no BOM is found. We believe that MRP should pull the sales order BOM rather than the quote BOM if both are type 1 but most certainly believe that if the quote only has a costing BOM and the sales order has a production BOM MRP should recognize it and utilize it. This does not happen. Any thoughts?

Sales Order - BOM Explosion

Hi ,
We have a scenario of variant configuration, wherein there is a bom explosion. Whenever there is a change in the BOM, the change is also getting reflected in the order.
How can I prevent this?

I think that it is the configurator that manage this, so you cannot prevent the re-determination because if you change the configuration, then the also BOM changes.

You can input here( RESB ) resevation number can find out data related perticular order component .

Order BOM explosion in sales order

Hi,
Is it possible to explode order BOMS in sales order. If so how.
Intially we are creating sales order. Then we are creating order BOMS. When i open the sales order after creation of order BOMs, order BOM should be exloded enable us to dispatch in staggared lots.

1) For the BOM to be exploded in the sales document the following customizing setting is required.
A) If the item category group is ERLA the item category of the BOM is TAQ, in the definition of which we have to specify the value A (Explode single level BOM) in the structure scope.
B) If the item category group is LUMF the item category of the BOM item is TAP in the definition of which we have to specify the value A in the field structure scope.

Bom explosion in sales order mrp(MD50)

Hi Experts,
In sales order MRP i.e. MD50 Getting the planned orders for header material(Finished goods) generated but for raw materials (BOM items) Purchase requisitions are not getting generated.
Details:
Header material A and raw materials B and C.
In material B in MRP 4 coll/ind indicator is 2 And same indicator for C is blank.
Now when we are running the MRP sales order based it will generate the purchase requisition for C only but not for B.
In OPPQ we have done the setting for sales order BOM explosion.
Can anyone please throw some light what is the setting missing in customization or in front end?

Dear,
If you select individual requirement then system will not consider available stock and generate Proposals for every single requirments. Check in MRP4 view Individual / Collective .
Also you will find PR and Plan order with account assignment of Sales order (in case of MD50).
- If you select collective requirement then system will not generate planing proposals through MD50.In that case you have to go for individual MRP (MD02 / MD03)

Process Order -Batch determination for a BOM material(same batch)

Let us say, a material (ROH) has so many batches as A,B,C & D. Whenever we create a new process order, system has to pick only the particular batch( say -C here) in the process order BOM through batch determination. (during process order creation stage)
1.How to achieve the same ?
2. What are the ways are there to achieve the same ?
3.Is there any Exit for this?

( Because there are so many material without MM-classification view.....and client wants without extending the Classification view for MM master as it suggests same batch for all GI for delivery & GR for purchase.....)...We want only for process order batch determination.....

3. Is it possible through any kind of Characteristic assignment in the Sort sequence? How?

Hi Hadi,
Use report COOISPI with list as Components and input as process order numbers. In the output layout you can see the Requirement qty field which is qty as per process order BOM and Qty withdrawn which is the actual issue qty. From the layout you also select Pegged requirement field which display the components parent material.
You also check MB24 - Reservation List against the process order number which also display the required qty, issued qty and difference.

1.For this requirement you have to go for a Z report and you can give the Functional Spec's to prepare
this report to your ABAP consultant.Prepare the input format,logic of the program and the output format.
In the logic part you can make use of this Functional Modules's CSAP_MAT_BOM_READ or
CSEP_MAT_BOM_READ or CS_BOM_EXPLOSION or CS_BOM_EXPL_MAT_V2 .
2.Using CEWB helps you to identify all the material that's having the BOM,but here the report does not
shows you the level by level by BOM for a FERT.
Check and revert back.

BOM explosion in process order

Dear PP experts
In my scenario, the sales order and process orders for the corresponding line items got generated by uploading some details of master contract through some Z code. The client provide me details regarding the BOM for the process orders from their third party software, which process through XI. I have to trigger that bom into process order. for that i first maintain the bom details in CS61 and then trigger the "Read Master Data" in process order manually. Now i have to do it automatically. means when the BOMvdata flows from third party software, it should get updated in cs61 and simontaneously "read master dat" should get triggered. how can i do this. please suggest

Search BAPI with SAP component ---> PP option in search help(F4).

BOM Explosion needed on PO and/or Delivery for Stock Transfer PO Process

Good afternoon,
I have been researching the SDN and web for a solution to my problem to no avail so far.
The business problem I need to solve is the requirement for our STPO process to explode certain BOM's that are transfered from one company/plant to another company/plant in order to record batch/serial # component information by the delivering plant on the delivery and verification of the batch/serial # in the receiving plant during MIGO processing of the delivery. This is needed by our Service Mgmt department in order to track servicable items within the Finished Good (medical devices industry).
It appears on the SDN that a BOM can not be exploded on a non-Subcontracting PO (which would be ideal for us), but barring this problem, we are trying to have the BOM explode in the Delivery created from the STPO via the VL10B transaction.
The STPO generates a Delivery doc with type NLCC and item category NLC. I have maintained the material master for the BOM material to have an Item Category Group of ERLA, and I have modified Item Category Determination in configuration in Logistics Execution for deliveries to include ERLA, usage V, and NLC as default item category. But, the deliveries generated from the STPO still do not explode, like what normally happens if the delilvery of the BOM was created from a standard Order.
The components for the BOM need to be displayed on the Delivery (if not the STPO), so the cleark can record the Batch/Serial #'s for each component. Then when the receiving plant posts the Goods Receipt for the delivery a user exit we have (based on movement type and material document code) builds a Service Mgmt table that is then processed to De-install the BOM and components from the former plant and install the BOM and components at the receiving plant (and then subsequently at the ultimate customer's location when a normal sale is made), generating a new Functional Location.
Has anyone here had to do anything like this before? Would any of you have any ideas on how this BOM explosion might work on the PO or Delivery?
