Process order settlement driven by T030 & TKA3C vs settlement from recipe

We settle all process order cost (consumption, production, and variances) to the cost center (or P&L).   These settlements are driven by a hard coded structure (by valuation class) and tables T030 & TKA3C.
I suggest that this is not common SAP practice.  This is certainly not SAP best practice.   I believe this has resulted in the proliferation of valuation classes and cost elements (in order to settle production differently.)   Does it make sense to have over 300 valuation classes?   Can you please confirm?
I suggest that we only need to settle production order variances and activity cost!  The correct settlement should be defined as part of the resource (and recipe group).   We already define this but they have no consequence because of the configuration of our SAP.  Should settlement should be recipe driven and not material driven!  It would not mater what the valuation class of the consumed materials, or the produced materials.  Settlement would be defined by the resource attached to the recipe.
How does SAP overide the resource (cost center), and activity (cost center) attached to the recipe with tables T030 & TKA3C?

  • Process order settlements not flowing into BI for Inventory

    Hi,
I built a cube for inventory based on the standard extractors to generate MAC values. I have three MAC reports, each for daily, weekly and monthly. The reports give the right values at the at the month level , but  whenever there is a settlement for process order done, BI does not pick the settlement value and this makes the MAC value shoot up at the daily and weekly level. I tried to a find an extractor for this settlement and could not find any. Can someone please help me with this ? Is there any datasource for settlement of process order?
    Thanks

    Hi,
Both Tomas and Debraj have provided good tips.  Let me elaborate on this.
From SWU3, access Maintain Runtime Environment -> Schedule Background Job for Missed Deadlines by double clicking on it and execute it. You could maintain the interval until next deadline check.  You could keep the number low.
Also, if you have the event queue turned on, some times the work items will stuck in the queues and took a long time for them to be available.

  • In Process Order status "SETT" Settled

    Hi
After settlement of Process Order, system status (SETT - Settled) of Process Order is not updating atomically.
After settlement of Process Order, Process Order allow only in Display mode & there is no posting allow against settled Process Order.
Please suggest me what are the setting required.
    Regards
    ARK

    ARK,
In your order type dependent parameters in transaction COR4, for you plant order type combination for Process documentation "Order record" radio button is active, that's why system is not allowing you to set deletion flag.
Are you working on a client system or a training system where you are just trying to test different scenarios?
If you are working in training system then in COR4 transaction for the plant order type combination you can activate the radio button for "No process documentation required". Now if you check the order it would allow you to set deletion flag.
If you are working on a project and client system, you need to ask the user to execute transaction COPA to store the order records, once this is done you would be able to set the deletion flag. (Please note: Before you execute transaction COPA necessary basis setting for storing has to be in place.)

  • Goods Receipt Indicator in Process Order header

    Hi,
I'm trying to find the source of Goods Receipt indicator field in Goods Receipt tab in order header. For a process order, its in the 'Control' section of the page. Its always ticked on even when no confirmation or goods receipts are posted. Help says it indicates the relevancy to inventory management. I just wanted to know if there is a data or a config that drives this field. I checked in Order type-dependant parameters if that is source of this field, but I couldn't find that option there.
    Thanks in advance experts!
    Regards,
    Abhijit

    Hi Abhijit,
The flag is always set for orders settled to a material or a sales order item, as mentioned in help. If the settlement rule is different the flag is not set.
You can do that creating a process order without material (CORO) or changing your settlement profile and not using material as a receiver.

    hi
the purpose of process order w/o material
If you want to use a process order for a reworking procedure
If you want to use a cleanout recipe
    t code  CORO
create a order w/o material for rework qty
Make the same entries as described under Creating a Process Order With a Material. Once you have created the process order, the system will copy all the data from your master recipe, but not the material list.
maintain settlement cat, receiver and % in parent order
carryout goods movement for rework qty

  • Creation of Process Order without assigning master recipe

    Hi,
I want to create a process order without having default master recipe for the given material or default operation for the given order type. I want the user to select the master recipe manually in process order. We do not want to use production version also.
We can define the default operation for the order type (OPJG) so that we can create a process order. I do not want a default operation in the process order but the user should select a valid master recipe. If we have default operation in the process order, it serves no purpose as it is never used anywhere.
Is there any way we can achieve this?
    Regards,

    Hi,
Please find the required details and conditions for creating process orders without master recipe.

  • How to print process instruction in process order.

    Hi dudes,
,y client is not having Process management interface, but they want to maintain process instruction for phases in recipe and want to take print of process instructions  in process order after release process order.
Please explain the path for printing process instructions copied into process order.
if some one assign PIs to phase in recipe, will control recipes be created after release of process order.
    Regards
    Daniel

The easiest way to do what you want is to actually create the PI sheet and then print it off from the view PI sheet transaction (CO60).  This is then all standard functionality.
to do this you will need to set the configuration to create the control recipe when the process order is released and send it to a recipe destination.

  • Profit Center in Process order

    Dear All,
Can any one explain me how the profit center gets populated in process order assignment tab in COR3?
    1. From where it is picking the profit center (Is it pick from material master)?
    2. Any configuration required to get filled automatically?
    Thanks in advance
    Kumar

    Hi,
Profit center is picked up from material master. if you maintain it in material master ---> Costing -1 view.
However, if you are using project based planning & then system will replace it profit center of WBS element i.e. system will copy profit center of WBS element which is appearing in assignment tab of your process order.
If you are not using Project based planning then material master profit center will be copied in process order.

  • Master reciepe copy in process order

Hi, i have 2 control recipies for same material. when i created manual process order with cor1, it is copying the first control recipe. i want it to copy second control recipe. how to set the same?

    Hi,
Hi, i have 2 control recipes for same material
Control Recipe can be created only during Process Order Execution so it's not a master data.I think you want to say you have created 2 different Master Recipe which contains different sets of Process Instruction Categories (Which will give you different control recipe).
    - So if you want to do manual selection of Master Recipe to create Control Recipe of your Selection then,
Create 2 different production version and assign Different Master Recipe to it.
    - Now go to COR4 (Order Type dependent Parameter) and set selection of Production Version as Manual one.
So whenever you creates the Process Order manually system will give you a pop up screen to choose the Production Version.Select required Production Version and process further.

  • Target Cost in the settled process order become zero after cost deletion

    Dear all,
User has standard cost estimates created in Jan 2010 that valid until the end of 2010 for every material in the system.  user created a process order in April 2010. Target cost of the order was created based on the standard cost estimate and recipes as well as order qty.    The order was also confirmed and settled in April 2010 without problem.
However, after I deleted all old costing estimates before I did a costing run for all materials in May 2010, the old order was resettled and all Target cost is removed from the order.  I guess system try to look at April costing estimate but it is not there since it was deleted before I created the new costing estimate in May.  Therefore, all varainces are throwed into remaining variances since the target cost become zero.
Other than mark the settled order for deletion or keep all old costing estimates,  I am just wondering is anyway in the configuration to prevent the system to recaculate the target cost again for the settlement so I can avoid the problem happens?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
Target costs are only calculated after goods movements have occured on the order, the Target Costs are then calculated during the Variance calculation.
Target costs will only be calculated after the first goods receipt has been posted to the order. Also you have to ensure that the information to calculate target costs exists on the system in particular in OKV6.
This estimation is based on the customizing for the Target cost version in transaction OKV6 as in turn will the "real" calculation of the Target costs via the variance calculation.
So in OKV6 the Target cost will be based on preliminary costing on the order, an alternative cost estimate or the current standard cost estimate. Importantly if the choosen option is not fulfilled e.g. no current standard cost estimate, the target costs will not be predicted or calculated.

  • How to get the list of all process order which are settled?

    Hello Friends,
Is there any  standard report available to get the list of all settled  Process Order or  Production order?
Thanking all of you in advance.
    Regards,
    Jitendra

    Hi,
You can the below standardreports for knowing the list of Settled Process Orders :
    1. Use Tcode : COOIS and in the selection fields provide the Process Order Type, Plant and System Status As " SETT" and execute the same . System will list all the Process Orders which were settled so far.
    2. Use Tcode : CO26 with selection fields as above.
Hope this will suffice your reqt.

  • Problem with process order settlement

    Hi,
I'm having a problem while doing settlment for process orders. I have two types of process orders AJWV and AJW0; AJWV works for center 2000 and AJW0 works for center 1000. When I calculate variances both work good. The problem comes when I try to settle them. For AJWV orders there are three finance documents generated, FI document, Controlling document and Profit Center document. But for AJW0 it's just generated Controlling document and Profit Center document.
Both order types have the same settlement profile assinged
The settlement rule for both orders is to Cost Center, full settlement 100%
Both orders are produced for Sales order with valuated stock
I already checked the account assigment for the materials corresponding to each order, and both account determination are ok.
What can be the problem so the AJW0 is not posting to FI variances?
    Thanks

    Hi,
Yes for AJWV the FI entry was generated.

  • WIP&Settlement Process order

    Hi,
We calculate WIP weekly basis and WIP used to credited to a Balance sheet acct and DR to a P&L acct (which is generally NOT a Cost Element )
    Here our Doubt,
WIP was calculating irrespective of Settlement that is we used to see the Doucument (DR and CR ).and can be verified to FS10N,but now some thing went wrong (I checked OKGA and OKG8 they have proper BS and P&L accts) and after calculating WIP the documents are not posted and FS10N shows nothing for that BS and P&L acct.
1)Can we calculate WIP without settling order (DLV or TECO) and get  FI documnet posted ? which we used to get I believe,
    2) what is wrong with our system where we got FI documnets for WIP previously and not getting Now even though we have same BS and P&l accounts in OKG8 ?
    your help greatly appreciated,
    Regards,
    Nikitha

    Thank you Suryanaraya,
YES we calculate WIP on weekly Basis, But Financial statement analysis on Monthly Basis,
Your answer is convincing, But My user is adamant  (in fact he shows the previous documnets posted for WIP) . so can you clarify, for example I calculated WIP (Lets say ,for this month) 2/11,2/14,2/21,2/28 ;;;;;; and , -$100,-$80,-$60,$40  for my Balance sheet  ,Respectively , which shows $0.00 for that Process order as WIP, and we are done totally at the month end  ,so you mean to say I will get 4 documents on Month end (Feb 28) as Document Date 2/11,2/14,2/21,2/28 and Posting Date 2/28 for all 4 when I run Settlement?
OR can I do weekly WIP and Settle order ? to see WIP documnets?
    Please clarify,
    Excuse my ignorance,
    Nikitha
