Process Version 2012 for photos taken with Olympus OMD EM5

I have just purchased an Olympus OMD EM5. When I download images to Lightroom (v4.4) I have to manually convert to Process 2012. Am I doing something wrong? Why does this not happen automatically?

I can't tell you why it is doing that.  Are you applying a preset on import that includes the older PV?  Just a suggestion; you could create a preset that applies to the 2012 PV when images are imported.
Pardon my ignorance, but does that camera shoot DNG natively?  If it does, I wonder if it is using an older spec.  Don't know anything at all about this, just wondering.

  • HT201317 Photostream for photos taken with locked phone?

In this article, it says ALL photos will automatically be added to photostream when taken on the iOS device. But I think that's not true if you take photos with a locked phone (sliding up the camera icon on the password page instead of entering password)?

    Hi Stephen,
Yes I'm aware I need to connect to wifi to sync photostream. And when I do that some photos sync and some don't. It seems it's the photos taken with a locked phone that don't sync. Or maybe it's something else that just happen to occur at the same time, otherwise I can't understand why some sync and others don't. And there's no rhyme or reason, it's not the first or last that sync, it's some do and some don't "randomly".

  • Importing from Memory Card (photos taken with Olympus EP1)

    Hi there,
I have used a mac pretty much all my life and importing photos from camera/memory cards is like second nature. I have recently started using the Olympus EP1 and transfer my photos using a card reader in my USB drive. Things have been working great until this weekend, iPhoto (my version is 7.1.5) would only import 150 images out of 446 on my memory card. All images on the card were taken on the same day with the same camera. When I tried to manually import the images by copying them to my desktop and then bringing them into iPhoto the exact same thing happened, stating them to be unreadable files. They are raw Olympus format, all of them. Why is it refusing to import the other 300?
When I open the files in the Olympus software that came with the camera, all 446 images are viewable and editable, meaning that the files are not corrupted. I did the most recent iPhoto update but same problem. I've restarted. Please help!

Yeah that is the strange thing. I've double-checked and they are all the same format: _.ORF
Can there be a raw .ORF file and a non-raw .ORF??
I've got all the images loaded into the Olympus Master 2 program (their own image editing software that comes with the camera), and iPhoto open. Master 2 is labeling them all as RAW, but only 150 of those will open in iPhoto. I can't find anywhere that states that those are not RAW, and I didn't change the picture settings on my camera...
So now I'm even more confused with your question as to how iPhoto DID load those 150 photos at all!

Does the new IOS 8 and instagram only allow pictures taken with the phone? as I can still choose from those, just not the ones I upload/save.
I don't know about instagram, but apps, that not yet have been upgraded to iOS8 can only access the photos that appear in the "Recently Added" album, because there is no longer a Camera Roll.
As a work-around, try to create an album of the photos you want to share to instagram. For other apps this helped to make photos accesible.

  • Process Version 2012 - LR5

Button in the lower-right corner of the photo to update to Current Process 2012 is gone in LR5?

Thank you very much for your kind and insightful response.
Could you help me with this other question:
I noticed a odd behavior with regard photos imported em February 2013 with
    previous version or LR4:
    •             photos already adjusted have a new history step line: "From
    Metadata";
    •             photos not yet adjusted have the new history step line "Reset
Settings" after the "import (dd-mm-yy hh:mm:ss)".
Thanks in advance for your help.

  • Photoshop CS4 does not recognize raw photos taken with newer cameras. Anyone else have this problem?

Photoshop CS4 will not recognize RAW2 photos taken with my new Panasonic Lumix FZ100 camera. This camera is listed in Adobe's 6.2 Camera Raw update for Photoshop CS5 but cannot be loaded in CS4. I paid a lot of money for CS4 and don't want to buy CS5 just because I bought a new camera, but it appears that Adobe no longer updates Camera Raw for CS4 or with newer cameras. When I called the Help Desk to find out if there was some kind of patch I could get to make CS4 compatible with my new camera a gentleman in New Delhi informed me that he couldn't even answer my question until I paid $40 since answering questions about CS4 was a "paid service." I hung up in a rage. Does anyone else have this problem and is there a solution?

This camera is listed in Adobe's 6.2 Camera Raw  update for Photoshop CS5 but cannot be loaded in CS4.
Adobe does indeed not update obsolete versions of Camera Raw for new camera types.
And guess what: It’s the camera producers who seem to like to change their raws – so how about spreading some of your indignation their way?
I paid a lot of  money for CS4 and don't want to buy CS5 just because I bought a new  camera
The upgrade is cheaper than buying the full version.
Anyway, you could try the free DNG Converter which should be able to handle everything the most recent version of Camera Raw can handle.

  • Aperture syncs photos taken with iPT4 with smaller resolution

    Hello,
I've got a problem. Currently, I'm using the newest version of Aperture to organize my photos. If I import my photos taken with my iPod touch 4th generation, I'll find them in my library with a resolution of 960x720 - exactly how it's supposed to be. But if I sync my photos from Aperture with iTunes back to the iPod, they are 480x360! On the retina display this *****, they are pixelated! Why does Aperture / iTunes scale my photos down? Can I change that so they are at the original resolution on my iPod?
Thanks in advance and sorry for my english (I'm German)!

I can't help you directly but you might want to also post in the Aperture forum since they may also be of help.

  • How can I transfer my photo taken with iPhone5 filters maintaining filter effects ? I always have colored photo without filter effect on my iMac !!!

How can I transfer my photo taken with iPhone5 filters maintaining filter effects ? I always have colored photo without filter effect on my iMac !!!

no completely satisfactory answer but you can :
    1) email photos to yourself (tedious if you have a lot of filtered)
    2) create shared file in iPhone and bring into iPhoto (and maybe Aperture - not tested yet) with filter effects
    3) import to iPhoto and add effects from there (likely needs latest version to mirror iPhone filter)
see this thread for more explanation on these workarounds: iPhone isn't transferring photos taken with built-in filters

  • Filters in Bridge: photos taken with flash.

I can't find a way to filter photos, using the filter panel, taken with/without the flash.
In the search menu I can look for pictures taken with flash, but the filter panel would be faster.
    Any suggestion?

You could create a Smart Collection and use that instead.
Just set it to current folder and flash equals did fire.
    Should do the trick.

  • How can i prevent and fix white eyes in photos taken with iphone 4S

How can i prevent and also fix white eyes in photos taken with iphone 4S?  Is there a camera app that will help prevent this?

On the photo, click on Edit, the third icon at the bottom has a red circle with a slash over it, that's the red-eye fix. Touch that and it will fix all red eyes automatically or make you touch the red eyes and then fix them for you. Not perfect, but a great help. Now, I find that the fixes do not carry over when I save the photos in my computer. Hope to find an answer for that.

  • There were frequent purple line appear on photo taken with my iPhone 5 camera, is this the defect of product?

there were frequent purple line appear on photo taken with my iPhone 5 camera, is this the defect of product?

So it looks like I ran out of AppleCare two weeks ago, what a shame. I guess it's not worth $260 to receive a new handset simply for a dusty camera. However this is still annoying due to the fact that the phone shouldn't have dust behind the lens anyway. I think this situation is a bit unfair since this is a malfuntion of hardware and it is also disappointing that so many people have this problem with the iPhone 5 in particular. :X
Thanks for your help though Templeton!

My CS5 program does not support CR2 photo taken with Canon Rebel T5i camera.  Why?

If you take a look at the following charts, you will find that both the S110 and the T5i are not supported in CS5, both cameras require photoshop CS6 with a camera raw point upgrade, Photoshop CC or Lightroom 4.3(s110) 4.4(T5).
