Processes is started but doesn't do anyting

We are using WLI 8.1SP5, Oracle as a database.
We are facing issues when starting a process. Sometimes a process gets triggered, but the process instance doesn't do anything.
When looking at the graphical view we only see the process start node (green button at the top) being lit. But for some reason the process does not continue...
Anyone had a similar behaviour?
Yoeri

check your state table (JPD) and process event table.
If there is only one entry there that means the dispatcher layer has send the control to adapter and to container layer and process entry is created .
but the events are not getting fired .This could be related to a bug in Processcontainer class.X-(

  • Firefox process is starting, but no activity and no active application

I am already for long-time a happy firefox user. I rate myself as an experienced firefox user and troubleshooter. But today I got some unfixable problems, and also can not find my problem in the forums. Ony this tread is a bit related, but offers no solution : https://support.mozilla.com/nl/questions/759683
The firefox.exe process starts, loads till about 10MB in memory and than no activity. Also no CPU usage. Appears to be hang.
If I remove js3250.dll there is an error message that the file can not be found. So I guess the basics of FF are started.
The profiles are already moved to an other location. Later I uninstalled FF. Several times rebooted. Moved ALL references in program files and in my roaming user profile to a different drive and installed FF again.
Virusscan and Firewall software are disabled at the moment.
Unfortunately FF keeps responding in the same way. Only starting firefox.exe as a visible process but as application not visible. and no activity after a few seconds (ca. 10 MB in memory)
Hope the cure can be found soon. I like Chrome less than FF... Other browsers even less ;-|

  • Type Error: oE Started immediately after Auto Java update! Other threads just started but doesn't mention the relationship! Firefox reset does not correct

Problem correlates exactly with the Java update time per event viewer! Problem is starting to gain traction as more users experience same! Can’t determine how to fix? Maybe an error in the Java update?

I have also been having this problem, starting today, although my Firefox doesn't crash/close when the error box pops up - I can just close the box and carry on browsing.
However, as with the person in the thread listed above, I found that disabling McAfee SiteAdvisor seems to stop it happening (it happened fairly at random, but in about half an hour of browsing with it disabled, I haven't had the error pop up, compared to within a few minutes when SiteAdvisor is enabled). It looks like there was also a SiteAdvisor update today, so that also correlates with the onset of this problem. Are other people getting this problem using SiteAdvisor? I don't know much about the mechanics of SiteAdvisor - could there be a link with Java too?
    Using Firefox 27.0, Windows 7 SP1, McAfee SiteAdvisor 3.6.5, Java 10.45.2.18.

  • ITunes starts but doesn't open

After upgrade to iTunes v7.7, whenever I start the program I see the library-loading progress bar, but then the iTunes window itself doesn't open; however, according to the Windows Task Manager, itunes.exe is nevertheless running. No error message of any kind is displayed at any point.
How can I get the blessed thing to show itself?

Although this is sounding a bit like a library file issue, other problems can cause similar symptoms. The following document provides a good structure for sifting through the alternatives:

  • When I try to execute Firefox, it appears to start but doesn't. It seems the internet cache is still loaded from before. How do I clear this (I have that feature checked to delete cache on Firefox shutdown)?

This happens each time I try to start Firefox. I click the icon, my cursor goes into busy mode, then just stops. When I tried to run CCleaner, it tells me I need to stop Firefox. I pressed Ctrl/Alt/Delete and it doesn't show it as running. I went to processes tab and ended task of Firefox.exe and it still won't start.

  • Apache starts but doesn't run -- no error file msg

Running this in the DOS box gives:
    C:\orant9i\Apache\Apache>apache -k start
    Oracle HTTP Server Powered by Apache/1.3.12 (Win32) ApacheJServ/1.1 mod_ssl/2.6.4 OpenSSL/0.9.5a mod_perl/1.24 running...
and it starts TWO Apache.exe processes, one right away.
    But http://localhost gives a 500.
    There's no error log msg.
apache -k shutdown stops both processes,
    one delayed a bit.
Starting the same Apache as a Service gives 1067 --
    "process terminated unexpectedly"
This was part of an Oracle install which I can't get rid of thru the uninstall process -- it just won't run. I can run the Oracle Enterprise Mgr, but haven't tried any database stuff. I want to install MySQL.
    Thanks for reading this far,
and I sure hope you can help,
    Peter.

So what makes you think that a general Java forum can
help you with this?--because i searched on 'apache install' and got a lot of hits here.

You need to go where the Oracle-heads hang out
(http://technet.oracle.com). They have an Oracle Java

  • Starts but doesn't run

    15" Original MacBook Pro (3 years old) 2.3 GHz intel, 2GB DDR2
Starts, login, desktop comes up, multiple programs open on boot... then the color wheel appears and all processes freeze... for a second I can move mouse, switch between apps with command-tab, even scroll across dock and icons will magnify normally.... so I let it sit to see if it will resolve and the screensaver starts and by this time the mouse and keyboard aren't registering and I can't exit screensaver
rescue time, peer guardian, and tweetdeck are some third party apps that open on start-up... tweetdeck is the first to freeze... I try to force quit but nothing happens and everything else begins to freeze
I verified and repaired with DiskWarrior but that was not the problem.
    Any ideas?

"I try to force quit but nothing happens and everything else begins to freeze"
And you still are unable to force quit any of the apps? Really strange.
System Preferences>Accounts>Login Items. Disable rescue time, peer guardian, tweetdeck and any other apps you have.

  • I updated to V4 but firefox will no longer open when I click on the icon. I can see that the process has started, but there is no browser display. Stopping the process and trying again does not work. Please advise

Prior to updating to V4, firefox worked perfectly with all my existing applications. After I updated it will not launch a browser page, even though the process is shown to be operable in the Task Manager. The same problem occurs on start-up of my computer, so there are no previous processes running.
I cannot launch the broswer at all so cannot try clearing the cache etc or other suggested troubleshooting solutions.

In the Task Manager, make sure to check both the Applications tab and the Processes tab. On the Processes tab, Firefox may have two different components running: firefox.exe and plugin-container.exe. Well, in 3.5.11, it would be only the first one.

  • Cannot update itunes10.6.3.  I get no errors. I repaired all of the apple programs and it still don't work.  Acts like it wants to start but doesn't.  Thanks in advance

I cannot updated itunes 10.6.3.  I receive no errors.  I repaired all of the apple programs as suggested in other discussions but it still don't work.  Do I need to uninstall and start over again?

Initially I received the usual message to update.  I replied to it but it did not respond.  I then tried to manually  update through iTunes and it did nothing.  Only reaction I get is that the cursor "flutters" for a second and than tries to go to the store for maybe a second and than nothing else happens.
With that one, try updating using an iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) downloaded from the Apple website:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Does that go through any better for you?

  • ICal starts but doesn't show up

    Hello,
My Mac: MacBook black, 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, Mac OS X 10.5.8.
No worries till last week: I wanted to use iCal and when I launched it, it appeared in the menu bar but I couldn't see anything, no window appeared. I tried to lauch some functions and nothing appeared.
So far, I've launched iCal a couple of times when I just get my Mac to see what it was and then, I didn't use it at all...
Here's what I tried to fix the problem (translating from French, it might not be very precise, sorry):
    .reinstalled iCal
.checked hard drive (with disk utilites)
    .repaired authorizations
.created a new user (iCal works there but not under my session)
.cleaned with cleaning programs (OnyX and Spring Cleaning): checked S.M.A.R.T. of the disk, cleaned cache, checked files (tool FileChecker)
.backed up and then deleted these files: com.apple.iCal.plist, iCalExternalSync.plist and the folders and files User/Library/Calendars et User/Library/Caches/com.apple.iCal.
.put these files and folders back
After each of these stages, I tried to launch iCal and it never get any better!
I've been told to try to install the last Mac OS X Update Combo (10.5.8). It's a pretty big file and it seems my system is up to date anyway since I always install updates and my OS version is the same: 10.5.8.
Shall I try to install this Mac OS X Update Combo 10.5.8 anyway?
Any other idea to fix my iCal?
Any suggestion of any application that iCal could possibly be substituted by?
    Thanks

Found the answer by myself. Recently, I get rid of one space of Spaces. And iCal was supposed to start on that space. Then, each time I would try to start iCal, it would start in... the cosmos! And remains invisible.
So I get rid the Spaces attribution for iCal and it worked!
Suggestion to improve Mac OS X: show a message saying that a space is being deleted and that some applications are attached to it and suggest to attribute them to a different space or cancel any attribution (I hope I'm clear!).

  • Transfer files to external HD -- transfer starts but doesn't complete

I have a 2011 Macbook Pro and an older (5 year old) Western Digital external hard drive. I have always used this hard drive for both mac and windows. Recently, however, whenever I go to transfer a file from the mac to the WD hard drive, the little transfer window pops up and it appears to initiate the transfer. However, it never fully starts it. It appears to "get stuck" in that initiating stage, showing zero of 3.16 gb transferred and shows an unknown transfer time. This happens no matter how long I leave it open. Again, I have used this external hard drive with my macs for the past 5 years without any problems until now. I haven't moved or modified the WD hard drive, so I am not sure what happened or how to solve this problem. Any suggestions??
I appreciate any help you can give me!!
    Have a great day!

I've not encountered this, but I an suggest a few possible fixes.
    1. Download an appropriate driver from WD. That might fix the problem.
    2. Investigate if the problem occurs with Mac and Windoz. If it affects both, the HD may be the issue.
    3. Download Kext Wizard and install. It's a utility not unlike Disk First Aid, but faster, and more applicable to your issue. http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=253395
    Post your results; sounds interesting.

  • Computer starts but doesn'tt go past progress bar

As the title says. Heres the story: the day before it broke, i was watching the simspons for several days. No internet activity whatsoever. After shutting down simpsons, computer died. Then couple days after it died, i replugged it and worked just fine. I thought i would shut it completely down to kind of refresh everything and on reboot was that creepy white screen with progress bar. Once progress bar is done it shuts off. Doesnt go past.
When i start+option key, I was able to get the disk utility. Scan says all files are ok. Then i went to re-install mavericks.
Cant re-install is says my hard drive is locked.
The guy on the phone mentioned a hard drive failure.
Im a noob with macs i dont know sh-t.
I want to know alternatives to getting a costly diagnostic+semi costly new hard drive.

I believe it is enabled. Now it says rhis when i try to repair the 500gb Toshiba thing:
"The partition map needs to he repaired because there's a problem with the EFI system partition's file system"
What is efi or a partition map?

  • TS2776 Having difficulties syncing. the sync starts but doesn't get past stage 4 - any clues?

Using itunes with multiple devices. Having huge problems getting synced past stage 4 on my iPhone 5
Has anyone got any tips to get synced?

Turn off calendar, contact, and bookmark syncing, and see if your phone will complete a sync of the audio and video files. If this works, it means that you probably have a corrupt data record in one of those databases. Contacts would be the obvious choice, given that that's where it hangs up.
Try turning on each of those (bookmarks, calendars, and contacts) one at a time and syncing. One of those will probably cause it to hang up again, and then you will know which is the problem database.
Once you know which database is causing the problem, you can deal with it in two ways. You can delete the most recent record additions (if you remember what they are) and see if that fixes the problem. Or you can overwrite the data for that particular database on your iPhone using the appropriate selection in the Advanced box under the iPhone's Info tab in iTunes. If you choose the second method, any changes you've made to that database on your iPhone since your last sync will be lost.
    Good luck.
