Processes - Which modules?

Hi there,
Please can someone explain to me the following, I would like to understand this fully:
Which modules do the following processes fall under?
ASN
Container Scheduling
Customs
Delivery tracking
Demands
MRP

hi
this is to inform you that,
ASN - this is nothing but its an ADVANCE SHIPMENT NOTIFICATION - will get printed before delivery & picking of goods.
Container Scheduling - this comes in TRANSPORTATION MODULE - like SCHEDULING a container for the delivery of goods.
Customs - this comes under FOREIGN TRADE AND CUSTOMS - like when ever goods are moving from our country using the PORTS or DRY PORTS or AIR WAYS - we have to show some documents related to the goods.
Delivery tracking - this comes in R/3 while goods has left the manufacturing plant it will be tracked until it reaches the destination point.
Demands - this comes in PP module in DEMAND MANAGEMENT - whether the requriment is passed to PP via TOR or not.
MRP - this also comes in PP in the name of MATERIAL REQURIMENT PLANNING, this is used to calcualte how much ROH, SEMI are requried for planning the requriment before the date of delivery.
hope this clears your issue

  • Kindly suggest which module to choose ?

    Hi,
    I have done BBA & MBA (Finance & Marketing). Having 6.5 years of experience in Sales n Marketing in FMCG sector. Currently working as Area Sales Manager but now I want to do SAP module. But now m totally confused which module to opt as someone suggested to go for SD as u r from sales background, some suggested doesn't matter from which background you are so you can opt for BI as there is a huge scope for job. It would b great if seniors SAP consultant will guide n suggest me to choose the module.
    M looking for your valuable advise so that I can decide as i don't have any knowledge about SAP n their module.
    Regards,
    Rituraj

    Hi Rituraj,
    Its great to know that you have good amount of domain experience
    Off course you will get different opinion from different people as their view points are based on some key facts, thought process, their perception etc.
    However I would say you should think logically for your case.
    First : If we go by your education then Finance & Marketing are suitable for you.
    Second: However we should not undermine your experience in Sales & Marketing. And if we go by your experience then you should be in SAP SD which your education also supports partly.
    Third: If we consider your FMCG expereince then SAP IS Retail would be nice option as A challenging market, coupled with competition from around the world and an abundance of information available at shoppers’ fingertips, makes today’s shopper more powerful than ever.
    Fourth: Reporting is there in every sap module and being in BI would make sense if your focus is only reporting but considering the fact that sap is constantly upgrading only BI experience may not be great as HANA is in the cards and there is a paradimn shift already noticed in many organisation.
    Fifth: Dont underestimate your interest however while pursuing your interest then consider all facts instead of only interest as you need other stuff as well other than only interest to taste success for your any career in this case being sap career.
    So based on the above facts about your education, experience, interest probably you can think about SAP SD & IS Retail. Also dont forget while learning sap, focus is mostly on business process as ultimately you will be configuring, testing and implementing respective business processes, so if we dont understand the business processes itself then learning sap would be not much of use as i am sure you dont want to brand yourself just as a configurator or testor for your lifetime.
    Thank you very much and have a good day ahead.
    Get back to me in case you need any further clarification.
    Thank you.
    Thanks & Regards

  • Want to learn SAP - which module should opt for...

    one of my friend is in to Retail domain..non SAP Domain working with one retail channel as a store manager. ...Wants to learn SAP....which module should he go for..SD / CRM / or direct IS_Retail certification...as a fresher where he will be able to get chance...???
    i am working as a SAP Recruiter in some company..so i am aware that there is not much demand for fresher in this industry..
    please guide...

    Plenty of information about Retail education on <a href="https://websmp104.sap-ag.de/RETAIL">Service Marketplace - Retail</a> where you will find course descriptions.  For example:
    This curriculum comprises an Overview Course (Level 2), which explains the main retailing processes in SAP for Retail, plus seven Detailed Courses (Level 3), which examine specific retailing processes and how these are mapped and controlled in SAP for Retail.
    The Overview Course IRT100 (Retail Process Overview) explains the core processes of a retailing company. Based on a scenario in which merchandise is sold from stores, the course demonstrates how the store and distribution center are supplied with goods. Further process examples are the special cases of promotions and return of merchandise.

  • Which module have high pay, BI or BW or FICO??

    Hi guys I am a fresh graduate from an u.s university, and looking for a job in Oracle development. But I am interested in SAP and wanted to move to SAP after working 1 to 1.5 years on development side. In the mean while i just want to study SAP. But I am confused which module to select I did master of science in computer science............._I am coming to SAP only because it has high pay_........so......please advice me a module which has high pay. Some modules which interests me are BI, BW, FICO. I have to work in U.S. so advice me according to the U.S pay scales..............thanks in advance.......

    Hi,
    BI and BW are one and the same. BI (Business intelligence) is the latest version and BW (Business warehouse) is the older one. It is also sometimes referred as BIW.
    BI is basically for the people with Data warehousing platform. Experience in Oracle SOA, DW, Cognos, SAS, hyperion, terradata, MS BW. basically any tool that deals with ETL process. And the salary here depends on the experience in any of these tool.
    FICO is basically for the people with finance background. and the salary here purely depends on the functional experience (no. of years of exp).
    comparitively job opportunities are more for BI. And the salary is comparitively higher for FICO as there are very few people with the relevant exp.
    Hope this helps in deciding your career. All the best.

  • Which module(s) does nipxirmu.dll belong to?

    NI-PAL Service Manager is throwing an error each time I boot Windows (WinXP SP2).  I believe the error message points to nipxirmu.dll as the problem.  Based on previous discussion in this forum, it seems like the prescription is to remove the offending module and then re-install.  But which module does this DLL belong to?
    Thanks,
    Nick
    "You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means." - Inigo Montoya

    Hi Nick,
    The nipxirmu.dll belongs to the DAQmx driver so you might have to reinstall NI-DAQmx. The latest version is DAQmx 8.0.1 and can the downloaded from this link.
    Sometimes is possible that the file that got corrupted is located under the Data folder in C:\Program Files\National Instruments\MAX. You can try deleting this folder before uninstalling DAQmx. Keep in mind that deleting this folder will erase any tasks or board names you had created in MAX. In order to delete the Data folder you have to stop the "nimxs.exe" from the Task Manager Processes. If this doesn't fix your problem, then you'll have uninstall/reinstall DAQmx. (Inconceivable!)

  • I am using the Order Analysis Toolkit and want to get more information about the compensation for "Reference Signal Processing", which is scarce in the manuals, the website and the examples installed with the toolkit.

    I am using the Order Analysis Toolkit and want to get more information about the compensation for "Reference Signal Processing", which is scarce in the manuals, the website and the examples installed with the toolkit.
    In particular, I am analyzing the example "Even Angle Reference Signal Processing (Digital Tacho, DAQmx).vi", whose documentation I am reproducing in the following:
    <B>DESCRIPTIONS</B>:
    This VI demonstrates how to extract even angle reference signals and remove the slow-roll errors. It uses DAQmx VIs to acquire sound or vibration signals and a digital tachometer signal. This VI includes a two-step process: acquire data at low rotational speed to extract even angle reference; use the even angle reference to remove the errors in the vibration signal acquired at normal operation.
    <B>INSTRUCTIONS</B>:
    1. Run the VI.
    2. On the <B>DAQ Configurations</B> tab, specify the <B>sample rate</B>, <B>samples per channel</B>, device and channel configurations, and tachometer channel information.
    <B>NOTE</B>: You need to use DSA PXI-447x/PXI-446x and PXI TIO device in a PXI chassis to run this example. The DSA device must be in slot 2 of the PXI chassis.
    3. Switch to <B>Extract Even Angle Reference</B> tab. Specify the <B>number of samples to acquire</B> and the <B># of revs in reference</B> which determines the number of samples in even angle reference. Click <B>Start</B> to take a one-shot data acquisition of the vibration and tachometer signals. After the acquisition, you can see the extracted even angle references in <B>Even Angle Reference</B>.
    4. Switch to the <B>Remove Slow-roll Errors</B> tab. Click <B>Start</B> to acquire data continuously and view the compensate results. Click <B>Stop</B> in this tab to stop the acquisition.
    <B>ORDER ANALYSIS VIs USED IN THIS EXAMPLE</B>:
    1. SVL Scale Voltage to EU.vi
    2. OAT Digital Tacho Process.vi
    3. OAT Get Even Angle Reference.vi
    4. OAT Convert to Even Angle Signal.vi
    5. OAT Compensate Even Angle Signal.vi
    My question is: How is the synchronization produced at the time of the compensation ? How is it possible to eliminate the errors in a synchronized fashion with respect to the surface of the shaft bearing in mind that I am acquired data at a low rotation speed in order to get the "even angle reference" and then I use it to remove the errors in the vibration signal acquired at normal operation. In this application both operations are made in different acquisitions, therefore the reference of the correction signal is lost. Is it simply compensated without synchronizing ?
    Our application is based on FPGA and we need to clarity those aspects before implementing the procedure.
    Solved!

  • Configuring JMS adapter for a BPEL process which puts a msg in a Q of MQ

    Hi,
    I am trying to develop a BPEL process which picks up a message from a Q in Websphere MQ and puts that message in another Q of MQ after processing that.
    I have updated the oc4j-ra.xml with the following inputs:
    <connector-factory location="eis/MQSeries/Queue" connector-name="Jms Adapter">
              <config-property name="connectionFactoryLocation" value="com.ibm.mq.jms.MQQueueConnectionFactory"/>
              <config-property name="factoryProperties" value="QueueManager=TestManager;TransportType=1;Hostname=machine's ip address;Port=1414;Channel=channel name for connecting to client"/>
              <config-property name="acknowledgeMode" value="AUTO_ACKNOWLEDGE"/>
              <config-property name="isTopic" value="false"/>
              <config-property name="isTransacted" value="true"/>
              <config-property name="username" value="admin"/>
              <config-property name="password" value="welcome"/>
         </connector-factory>
    But while testing the BPEL process, I get the error:

    Hi,
    >>I can see incomplete checkpoint message in alert log files.
    This message indicates that Oracle wants to reuse a redo log file, but the current checkpoint position is still in that log. In this case, Oracle must wait until the checkpoint position passes that log. In fact, the "checkpoint not complete" messages are generated because the logs are switching so fast that the checkpoint associated with the log switch isn't terminated. Oracle stops processing until the checkpoint completes successfully.
    In this case, normally you need to increase the size of the redo logs or add more redo log groups. Take a look on http://www.dbazine.com/oracle/or-articles/foot2
    Now, as you said that the current redo size is 2 GB, how frequently redo log switch's occurs in the database ? See the SQL's below:

  • After completed as an MBA HR & System, Which module is the best for freshers ??

    Hi,  I am Samrat Saha. I completed my post graduation as an MBA (HR&System). I did BCA in my graduation and did Higher secondary in commerce. I want to build my career in SAP. But I have some questions::
    1. If i go for SAP then which module is the best for me..??
    2. As a fresher is companies showing any interest to recruit..??
    3. I hard a Course from Victoria University, Melborn, That Is "Master of Business (Enterprise Resource planning System) with SAP".. Is this Master degree worthy to do??
    Message was edited by: Sarah Kellman

    Hello Samrat,
    It is not possible to provide guidance on what career path you should take.  This is a conversation you need to have with a Career Planner or perhaps one of your professors.  You should follow the path you are most interested in, be it a functional role or a technical role.  Ideally you may want to consider getting some work experience in both fields, and then determine which area you wish to pursue.
    You state you have an MBA in HR & System....System what??  System development? Technology?  Programming?  Data Warehousing?  Even HR is a vast area within the SAP world.  We have Payroll, Recruiting, Self Services, Compensation, Time Management, Learning Management Systems, etc.  Most consultants select one or two areas to pursue.  There is no such thing as a single person who knows the complete SAP HR solution...it's just too big!
    I will suggest that you consider taking an SAP HR course so that you can get an idea as to how large the application is.  There are lots of courses available in e-learning.  I would recommend either SAPHRE or HR050E to start.  Once you have completed one of these, you'll be in a better position to decide what you want to do, or at least decide what you don't want to do.
    Good Luck!

  • Which Module for Vocally challenged Inter C.A. Student

    Hello,
    My name is Gaurav Bidasaria. I completed my C.A. Inter but started working as a tech blogger instead. I learned web designing, app development and few other skills during those years. Primary reason for opting this line:
    a) Interest in internet and related domain
    b) Lack of oral communication (0%)
    As far as my voice is concerned, it is partially impaired which means you will understand everything once you spend few days with me. You will also understand almost everything if you meet me the first time, however, I dont think I am suitable for meeting clients, explaining them technical aspects and getting feedback. Interaction with fellow workers will go along just fine.
    I am looking for back office job for this reason. Which modules should I undertake? Also, I have heard that being a techno-functional pays good rewards in the long run. I am willing to put in effort, and I am really good at self-learning as I have learnt web designing and App development all by myself. So I am confident I can learn anything anywhere with little help.
    I was thinking about going for FI/CO/ABAP/BI modules. Not sure though.
    Please let me know if you have any queries or questions. Do not hesitate. Any help from your side might help me build my career.
    Thank you for your time and efforts. Much appreciated.

    Sravan,
    You can test the web self-service just by launching the Web Dynpro PIQ_MBSS_OIF directly at first.  The Student Role (delivered with EHP4) in the portal also includes it as part of the Service Map.  The standard portal location is:
    pcd:portal_content/com.sap.pct/specialist/com.sap.pct.isher.student.bp_folder/com.sap.pct.isher.student.roles/com.sap.pct.isher.student.student
    I believe you need the following Business Package in your portal:  BPISHERST03_0-10006146

  • Investment management : which module

    Dear SDN,
    I would like a clear view as to which module Investment management comes under.
    Is it part of Fi or controlling?
    or is it an independent module by itself using controlling and fixed asset sub module of  FI.

    The application component hierarchy classifies IM as its own module under the Accounting area (AC).  I would consider the APCO to be the official designation of such a question.

  • Which module is more complex to meet requirements?

    Dear SDN,
    If you compare LO (SD,MM,PP,etc), FI (AR,AP,GL,SL) ,
    which module of extraction is most complex for a pure BW person? I mean a BW person who did not have R/3 experience?
    Regards

    Hi,
    In terms of quantity I would say LO will be more complex as it covers a lot of modules like SD, MM, etc. FI is one big module wiht lot of submodules.
    But from an understanding perspective, FI will be much more complex.

  • To find the processing Func. module

    hi,
    can anyone tell me how to find the processing Func. module(outbound) if i know the message type, basic type and extension.
    i tried with we57 but coudnt find the one(outbound) needed.

    Hi Pawan,
    From the link
    http://www.intelligententerprise.com/channels/applications/feature/archive/kasturi.jhtml
      For more inf. you can check this link.
    From WEDI got to Control -> Inbound process codes -> Inbound with ALE service -> Processing by function module (transaction WE42), or from WEDI go to Control -> Outbound process codes -> Outbound with ALE service -> With function module (transaction WE41). There will be function modules associated with the process codes. For inbound, the function modules usually follow this pattern: IDOC_INPUT_messagetype: for example, IDOC_INPUT_CHRMAS for inbound characteristics master.
    *Use transaction WE57 or from WEDI go to Development -> Message/Application Object. The entries list the function module, Business Object, message type, and IDOC type that are used for inbound ALE/EDI interfaces.
    Hope you will clear now, if yes please close this thread with rewarding appropriate points to the helpful answers.
    Cheers
