hi to all experts here in SDN Community,
I just want to ask for help regarding in processing the dimension members,
My problem is whenever i try to process a dimension i get an error like this:
"public member 'GetOnlyFormulaValidate' on type 'frmMemberProcess' not found"

Hi,
Is this problem also occuring in Apshell? Could you also try to perform the same dimension processing from another laptop?
Then, could you try to uninstall and reinstall BPC for office client and BPC Administration, and see if the problem still occurs?
If the issue remains in ApShell after that, I would check the client diagnostic, and see if all prerequisites are inline with the documentation.
I would do this for the server diagnostic as well.

We are working on SAP BPC NW 7.5 with BADIs and we want to know how to
- create id members at dimensions
- write properties at members
- delete id members at dimensions
to summarize we want full control to update and process dimension members like update the master data by mean of BADI uploading info from SAP ECC or wherever and remove some entries if is needed
we've tried using methods like read_mbr_data, write_mbr_data and process_dimension without success
Can somebody explain how to do it?
Can somebody give us an example, please?

Finally weu2019ve solved the problem of the transports and analyzed the implementations in detail but u2026 unfortunately there is not implemented a deletion of master data, just creation by mean of UJA_API_PROCESS_DIMENSION (working with XML files) and we prefer to use the method write_mbr_data that belong to class/interface IF_UJA_DIM_DATA).
Anyway u2026 the point is that we want to know how to delete master data from a BPC dimension using a method u2026 otherwise we will try to delete master data directly from the corresponding InfoObject.
By the way, it would be great if anybody could tell us how to delete records with signed data u20180u2019 from application u2026 the alternative technique to do it is compressing the InfoCube u2026 but weu2019re looking for something more elegant
Summarizing u2026 weu2019ve to 2 questions:
1. How to delete master data from a BPC dimension using a BPC method
2. How to delete records with signed data u20180u2019 from application using a BPC method

Cannot maintain dimension members in SAP BPC

Hello, Masters in BPC
I have just create mention and want to input data, I used maintain dimension members CUSTOMER in SAP BPC but It seem not effect although I press Process dimension already and I open excel and paste data also saved them already. When I open other dimension and reopen CUSTOMER but nothing is shown.
Please give me a advice to resolve the problem.

Yes, I did it some times but nothing is happen,
I maintain dimension members, I did it as below:
- Choose maintain dimension members
- copy data from excel file and paste into the dimension
- click process dimension
Show a dialog
- Uncheck Take system offine
This task is successful.
but I go to dimension ACCOUNT in order to insert data,
I came back maintain dimension members : CUSTOMER but I see no data is displayed.
It is the same for ACCOUNT when I want to see data on that dimension
when I try one more time , I click save to server, The Error message show that : Dump Error
I reinstall BPC client and its patch but nothing to change
How can I do???

Changes in hierarchy dimension members causes EVDRE Errors retrieving data

Hi everybody,
I am facing the problem while retrieving the data in Evdre this is the following situacion:
1. BPC 7.5 NW SP 08 is used.
2. Suppose that you have a template where you defined SELF,DEP for an account dimension, you expand and refresh normally, and retrieved data OK.
3. Your business case makes that you have to move one of the dependant member of the hierarchy to another parent
then you go to mantain dimension member and change the parent of the member in question, finally you process dimension, and put available set status.
4. Yo re-open Template or refresh dimension members from the server in order to see update hierarchy in account dimension
5. After expanding and refreshing the evdre, shows and error "...while retrieving the data.. "
6. I suppose the way to fix it is to reverse the change in dimension member, so I change for initial parenth but error continue.
What do you recommend for fix it? is there any note which solve it?

Thanks for your answer, we followed all the steps you suggested, but the problem continue,
Could you confirm us what is the the path of that XML file of dimension thought BW - UJFS?
The only thing that correct problem is doing the following but not should be the best way:
1. Supress Account dimension in application
2. Delete dimension
3. Recreate Dimension and process it
4. insert dimension into application
5. Refresh Evdre and then works fine!
Is there any Sap note about it or something else to check?

Dimension Members in BPC is not updating

Dear Friends,
I have trasfered the values of the 0GL_ACCOUNt to the account dim of my appset in BW using the transformation and i could see the values in the BPC display dimension members.
But simillary i have created the transformation and uploaded the values of the 0Move_type to the flow dimension and am trying to view the same in the BPC but am not getting any valuess in dimension member list of the Flow dim.
I too closed and reopened the admin console. What could be the reason, kindly suggest.

There is a task in the Action Pane from BPC Administration to Refresh client dimension members. Try it. Also try to save and process your dimension again. Finally, hate to state the obvious but make sure your DTP loaded to the right infoobject which was generated from BPC. Do you see the master data in BW from RSD1?

Not able to delete any Entity Dimension members

Hi All,
I am trying to delete some Entity Dimension members but its not allowing me to delete. This problem is only for Entity Dimension.
I can edit Entity member name or properties successfully but not able to delete or move the position.
I also tried to check member usage but its not giving me any results, a blank screen comes and planning goes down after some time. Same happens when I try to delete any Entity member.
I have admin rights on Planning and I can delete other dimension member but not for Entity. There is no workflow started for Entity but If it is than also it pop-ups that after member deletion all planning unit will be lost. I have bounced planning DB and also restarted all Hyperion services but still no luck.
Please let me know if anyone has faced this issue or have any solution to resolve.

Hi John,
After uncheck of "enabled for process management" for all Scenario along with Version dimension members , this issue is now resolved. But its a temporary resolution as client has not yet started any workflow so we can uncheck that options ,but when they need to start workflow process then we have to check this options again which will start this issue again.
Do you have any permamant resolution for this issue?

What's 'Process dimension member' and 'Refresh dimension member'

We're using BPC 7.5 NW SP8 patch 001.
I often have confusion about these two buttions of dimension library on BPC admin console.
When clicking 'Process dimension member' and 'Refresh demension member', clearly we see BPC is performing some activities.
If I switch tracing in ST05, some tables, such as UJD_DIMENSION, UJD_DOC and temperory tables. were accessed and updated.
For my understanding, table UJD_DOC is using to find sheet template in UJFS and table UJD_DIMENSION is using to control versions between file service and BW infoobject tables.
But I cannot understand what's necessarity for 'Refresh dimension member'.
Does this activity will fetch data from BW infoobject tables and refresh files in UJFS ? But I cannot see 'Update' action in ST05 tracing file.
The other one - 'Process dimension member': does that mean syncroniization between files in UJFS and BW infoobject tables ?
If so, why temperory table /1CPMB/B_* is storing some records?
Could BPC expert guide me the way to understand? Appreciated.

Hi Brad,
Refresh Dimension members is to update client infomration.
When you log on to an application set whose structure has changed (there are changes to dimensions and templates stored on the server), the system automatically updates your client information. You can also initiate this procedure manually, which you should do only when instructed by your administrator. Hope this helps.

Canu00B4t save to server in maintain dimension members

I can´t "Save to server" or "Process dimensions" under "Maintain dimension members" I get follwing errror message:
"Exception from HRESULT: 0x800A03EC"
It seems to be computer related beacuse I have no problem when I´m using an other computer.
We are using SAP BPC 5.1 SP5

Which version of Excel are you using ? We have a few of us that still use Excel 2000 (although not officially supported) and up to SP4 we did not have the issue. After implementing SP5, we have the same error. Only ones that don't have the problem are people on Excel 2003...Might be coincidence, but I was under the impression that that was our issue.

Dimension members update

Everytime I update the dimension member or parent hierarchy, I can't access from action pane, unless I log out and login again?
How to avoid this and immeidiately start accessing the dimension members with out this logging out process. Please share your experience..

Hi Mani,
After you update dimension members and perform process dimension, system will update dimension member at master tables in data base.
You are not able to see newly created dimension members at CV because these new members are not downloaded to you PC.
There is no need to logoff. Simply goto eTools and Refresh Dimension Members. Once done you will able to see changes at CV.
When you logoff & re-login, system will refresh dimension members automatically. This is the reason you are able to see changes at CV.
Hope you got the information and all set to see changes at CV.

Issue while Maintaining Dimension Members

Hi Gurus,
I have upgraded my MS Office from 2010 to 2013. Below is the screen shot of my MS office version.
Now issue is I am not able to maintain dimension members. Every time we click on a "Maintain Dimension Members" nothing happens. It was working fine while I had 2010. We are at the latest service pack (BPC MS10.0 SP16).
Not able to figure out what is the issue as I don't get any errors.

Please review Note 2040480 - Limitation of maintaining dimension member in BPC Administration
[Workaround]
To avoid this issue, users should close Microsoft Excel before managing the dimension member in SAP Business Planning and Consolidation for Administration client.
If the issue persists:
1. Close BPC Admin
2. Open Windows task manager and end all Excel.exe processes
3. Open Excel, )standalone) to see if there is a prompt or user action. (usually an error stating that Excel crashed due a plugin/error, Do you want to disable this plugin Yes or No)
4. Click no the prompt (or yes depending on the message).
5. Re-open BPC Admin and try to maintain dimension members
Does that work for you?
I have been successful in using Excel 2013 with BPC 10 to maintain dimension members.

Processing dimension error :DUPLICATE DIMENSION MEMBER %1 IS DETECTED

When I try to process the Account Dimension, I get an error u201CDUPLICATE DIMENSION MEMBER %1 IS DETECTEDu201D.
However my dimension does not contain any duplicate members.
Appreciate if someone could interpret this error message and help me resolve the issue

Hi Sowmya,
We had same error couple of times. The issue is you could have some blank rows inserted at the end of your master data. Try the following steps
1. Maintain master data
2. Go to the last row with valid master data
3. Select all rows below it and right click and delete
4. Save and process dimension
Hopefully this should resolve your issue.

can any one please suggest , how i can do my essbase export with a string appended with all account dimension members.
i have tried more options but it doesn't looks working. i tried it by report scripts using RENAME function , but it works for 1 member at a time..

Hi,
If you're looking for the ability to append different strings, then you should probably be looking to an external process.
If you're looking to append the same string, I can think of one way. Make your report script fixed-width (that way you always know which character in the line you're changing) and then utilize the MASK command. (you can find it in the Tech Ref under Report Commands)

Cannot change category dimension members

Hi,
I am trying to change the year property value for member budget in the category dimension but once i change the value and save and reload back, i cannot see the new value i entered. It still shows the old value.
I have read&write access for category dimension. What is the problem then?

Did you process the Category dimension after saving it on the server?
If yes, I suggest that you reprocess your application (Modify application, and check both options there), and then on the Excel side, you should go under eTools and click Refresh dimension members.
Now, you should be able to see your new value for the YEAR property.

Valid Combinations for DImension Members

We have dimensions for Cost Center and Company code in one of our BPC Applications..Is there a way we can avoid users planning for incorrect combinations?
E.g. -
Valid Combinations -
Cost Center 1 >>>Company Code 1000
Cost Center 2 >>>Company Code 2000
In case the user selects Cost Center 1 & Company code 2000 in current view and enters plan values - the system should not allow the same...Is there a way to maintain valid combinations for dimension members (belonging to different dimensions) in BPC???

Hi Shibu,
It was just an example, to show you how to control the combinations. You might have to design it based on the exact business requirement.
Please note that this wont be a straight-forward process, and you might have to use some VB macros to ensure you get, what you require.
Lets say, based on the expansion, you have 5 company codes to be displayed in the template. You should, first, use an EVEXP function to list all the 5 company codes in some empty region of the template. Use a macro to concatenate all the 5 company codes separated by "|". Then, for the expansion on cost centers, you should again use a macro which will consider each of the 5 company codes at a time, and set the expansion to "P_COMPANY = ABC". Since you have 5 company codes, hence you will have 5 such combinations of member filter pertaining to each of the 5 company codes. Then you must concatenate them using "|", and this should be the memberset option for the cost center dimension.
I understand that this is going to be a bit complex, but I dont see any other option.

Process Dimension after BW to BPC Master Data Load

Hi All,
i'm looking for the way to process a dimension after master data load from BW to BPC (following the corresponding how to guide in BPC 7.5 NW). The new members are visible from BPC Administrator -> Mantain Dimension Members, but not visible in BPC for Excel after "Refresh Dimension Member".
New members are visible only if i process dimension from BPC Administrator , but I want this task to be automatic.
¿Any ideas?

I'm using Standard Process Chain IMPORT_IOBJ_MASTER in BPC 7.5 NW SP03. I will open a Sap note.
As a quick solution, I found in SAP Help (is 7.0 but I suppose it's the same behaviour in 7.5) there is another Process Chain (ADMINTASK_MAKEDIM) that can be used to process a Dimension http://help.sap.com/saphelp_bpc70sp02/helpdata/en/36/339907938943ad95d8e6ba37b0d3cd/frameset.htm. It has two parameteres ("Dimension Name" and "Input File"). Help says that if you leave "Input File" field blank, the dimension is processed, but it is mandatory field in package.
I have tried to modify package parameters but always appears an error with MEM_XML_PATH parameter in process chain.
¿Does anybody know how this package/process chain works?
