Processing files in the order they were placed using file adptr in 10.1.3.4

Dear experts,
Do we have an option for File adapter, whether it can process the files in the order they were placed on the mount directory.
Scenarios is: we have a third party system which generates a file for every 1 min. In case when BPEL service is down for sometime then files are getting accumulated and the moment we turn the service on, it is not processing files in the order they were created.
But the system to which we are sending file data, it needs data in order.
We are using soa suite 10.1.3.4.

HI Pavan,
I doubt if any such function is there.

  • How do I get iTunes to arrange movies (from a series) in the order they were released

Bottom line, we all download movies into iTunes and regardless of if you view them as a list or as cover art, they are always in alphabetical order.   But when you have a series of movies (pick any of your favorites... Harry Potter, Twilight, Transformers, whatever.) as part of your collection, is there a way to get those movies to show in the order they were released?

You asked if there is a way to impose a more useful order, and there is, but it requires a little effort on your part. Doing so via the sort fields (in the iTunes Get Info window) means you keep the original display names but just influence the sort order. An alternative, but still effort, is to tell iTunes that a series of movies is a TV Show, and then use the Episode ID field to control order.
And no, local changes don't get mirrored to iCloud, so if you have a device that shows cloudly links to your purchases they will display with the original store metadata. In fact if you enable Show All Music and Show All Videos on your device the store metadata can sometimes be shown in preference to your edits even when you have the content in question loaded onto the device from your own library.
There aren't any features that would made the process easier. Use iTunes Feedback if you would like to suggest improvements.

  • How do I get videos and pictures taken in the same event to show in a slideshow in the order they were taken?

How do I get videos and pictures taken in Photos and the same Event to show in the order they were taken? Pictures and videos are seperated with videos at the end of both Photos and the Event.

    You're welcome.
What's likely happened is that when you transferred the video to the new machine they lost their dates.
Photos use the Exif metadata to record the date and time of the shot. This is quite different from the date and time of the file, which can change as the file is copied from place to place. Video doesn't have Exif, and so iPhoto uses the file date, and that's changed.
Simply, there's no absoultely reliable way to date video.
Try assign dates with the Batch Change command under the Photos menu.

  • Maintenance Plan - Tasks are not executing in the order they were created

I've created a new maintenance plan to perform differential backups but the tasks I created don't necessarily seem to execute in order all the time.  These are the tasks and order assigned when I created the plan using the Maintenance Plan Wizard:
    Back Up Database (Differential)
    Clean Up History
    Maintenance Clean Up Task
Here's the deal...When it executes in the order they were created (above), all my old backups are deleted successfully.  However, there have been instances where, for example, the Maintenance Clean Up task executes before the
Clean up History task.  When this happens, only one of my backup files is deleted successfully but not the second (I have two .bak files needing to be removed).  Furthermore, I noticed that the backup that wasn't deleted when it should
have gets deleted at the next increment when new backups are created.
Again, this does not happen when the tasks run in the sequence shown above.  Only one old backup gets deleted (instead of two) when one of the above item is out of sequence.  Strange behavior to say the least.
Any feedback on this will be appreciated!

If you do not set up precedence constraints it runs all tasks at the same time.
Please see "8. To define a workflow between tasks:"

  • How do I get iTunes to organize albums in the order they were released

iTunes displays the albums in the order of the tile. It should display the albums in the order they were released how are you supposed to do this I've played with sort order and it makes no difference. This seems pretty basic way of organizing an artists music has Apple lost their collective mind with this release of Itunes?

Why does it absolutely have to display albums by the order they were released?  It can do what the programers want it to do.
You can sort by album, but then by multiple clicks on the album column header you can get album by artist and album by year.

    Good morning all,
How do I get the photo in a specific collection back in the original order they were taken? I have no idea how I messed them up, but they are all mixed up and I can't see any logical order.
    Any help will be appreciated.

As Don said, it is on the toolbar at the bottom of the grid area. If the toolbar is not there, press T. If the sort option isn't on the toolbar, click on the triangle at the right end of the toolbar and check the 'Sorting' item.

  • When creating a book how can I get all the photos from an album to show up in the order they were in the album?

When creating a book in iphoto, how can I get all the photos from the album I want to use to show up in the order that they are in the album?  When I tried to use the option to add my own photos instead of having the program "flow" them, they showed up all mixed up.

iPhoto puts them in the book in chronological order.  So to get your photos from an album into an iPhoto book in the same order you will need to use the Photos ➙ Batch Change ➙ Date menu option and set them all to the same date with a 1 minute time difference between each.

  • When I merge one project with another, Aperture for some strange reason, randomly scrambles the photos from the project being merged, instead of keeping them in the order they were shot. What can I do to fix this?

When I merge one project with another, Aperture 3 randomly scrambles the photos of the project being merged, instead of keeping them in the chronological order that I shot them in. What can I do to correct this?

The photos have just been dumped into a new home and need to be told how to be arranged.  Go to the top left of the browser view for the merged project and select the desired sort order from the drop-down and they'll all sort according to that setting.

  • Can I get iTunes to file ripped tracks in the exact order they were on the CD?

300 years ago, Bach wrote the Well Tempered Clavier "songs" to be played in a certain order.  The geniuses at Apple offer lots of options for arranging the ripped tracks in every order except "List tracks in the order they were on the CD".  Anyone have any ideas why Apple INSISTS upon destroying this carefully created order?  iTunes CD imports are ripped in sequential order, why can't iTunes simply put them in the library in the order they are ripped?  To omit this simple and obvious ordering is INCREDIBLY STUPID!!  If the option to put CD tracks into the iTunes Library in the order they are ripped exists, but has been hidden by some genius, does anyone know how to find it?  Why are programmers so obsessed with giving us "features" that they completely overlook the simple option of "Do not reorder the tracks at all", just store them in the library?
If iTunes is so stupidly designed that it is impossible to leave the order of tracks in the order they were on the CD ripped, is there any way I can reorder the tracks manually so that I can restore the tracks to the order Bach intended?  The 3 ripped CDs are (no option) stored in individual folders.  Is there a way to put all tracks in a single folder?   Does Apple have any "suggestion box", or "bug reporting" input access?  I wonder if they are following the modern trend (like Google), who allow no user feedback since they KNOW that THEIR geniuses produce only products that are already PERFECT when released.  What colossal arrogance!

"The geniuses at Apple offer lots of options for arranging the ripped tracks in every order except "List tracks in the order they were on the CD".  Anyone have any ideas why Apple INSISTS upon destroying this carefully created order?"
They don't.  By default iTunes will import tracks and allow them to be viewed as albums in the "correct" order, assuming that the metadata elements used to control grouping into albums are correctly set.
"iTunes CD imports are ripped in sequential order, why can't iTunes simply put them in the library in the order they are ripped?"
Because "the order in which they are ripped" is not a well-defined concept.  iTunes groups tracks into albums and orders discs/tracks within albums based on well-defined metadata elements.  The issue that you may seeing is that much of the information that iTunes pulls from Gracenote to supply metadata for imported CDs is inconsistent or just plain wrong.  Once the metadata is correctly specified, tracks will always be ordered correctly in the iTunes library (assuming sorting by album, disc # and track #).

I would like to import two different cf cards from two different cameras into the same project/folder and have them be in the order of the times they were taken, any ideas on how to do this?

Just import them normally and sort the project by date. They will fall into place. If you tried this and it isn;t happening then make sure the data and times on the two cameras are identical and make sure you are sorting by date and time and nothing else.

    You are welcome.
Sorting and organizing photos on IOS devices is one of the things that really need to be improved. It looks like the developers simply did not expect the users to want to keep large photo libraries on an IOS device, where the ordering would matter. I'd send feedback to the developer team, so that they see, what the users want and need:
You can use this form:  Apple - iPhoto - Feedback

Not that I'm aware of. You just export JPEG copies to a folder that you can point iTunes to. For instance, I have created a folder in my Pictures folder called Apple TV. And within that folder I have other folders of pictures that I can choose from in iTunes to share with Apple TV. But there doesn't seem to be any way to share a Lightroom slideshow. If you have laid to create a video file that would probably work. Apple TV is a little clunky in my opinion. Some things are a little more difficult to do now than they were a while back. I probably haven't provided you with much help, but just keep experimenting and I think you will figure it out.

  • I have just put an audio book into my iTunes music library.  When I tried to transfer it to my iPod shuffle it rearranged the tracks so that they are in the wrong order.  How can I put them in the order they appear in the book?

I have just put an audio book into my iTunes music library.  When I tried to transfer it to my iPod Shuffle it put the chapters in the wrong order i.e. Chap 1, Chap 10, Chap 11 etc. rather than Chap 1, Chap 2, Chap 3 ...  How can I get it to put them in the order they appear in the book?

First, we need to know if the audiobook chapters are being treated by iTunes as music files or as audiobooks. If they are not audiobooks purchased from the iTunes store, they might be getting "shuffled". You will need to look at "File" - "Properties" (I think - I don't use iTunes under Windows - or right-click on the file and choose "properties") and look at the media type. If it is "Music", change it to "Audiobook". If this is not the problem, or does not fix anything, please post back.
Actually, looking at your post again, a second thought occurs to me - assuming there are less than 100 chapters in the book, just renaming them with a leading zero on the first nine chapters might do it. A computer will alphabetically sort filenames in the order you quote (1, 10, 11, 12, 13, ... 2, 21, etc.) but a leading zero will fix that (01, 02, 03 ... 10, 11, 12)
