Processor glitch

Is a simple question.
I have a KT3 Ultra2 series mb with a via kt333 chip series.
I am running an Athlon xp2400 cpu on Windows XP.
The infoview reports the processor to be only an xp1800+.
How and where do i fix this???????
(I am bios friendly)
thanx.

Hi
That sounds correct, this is Via 64 bit forum, and my AMD64 3200+ runs at 2000 MHz , while the second machine on the KVM is a K7 board with Athlon 2500( or is it 2400) but it shows 1500 MHz, The Chip Name does not refer th MHz, but to an intel inspired protocol.
cheers
jocko

Hmm I hope that MSI got this fix in their bioses..

Hopefully we'll see something from MSI, as far as a new BIOS is concerned, sooner than later.

  • Upgrade G3 B&W and G4 Single Processor from OS 9.2.1 to 10.4 Tiger?

I Purchased a G4 Installation / restore disk OS 10.4......Used an external DVD drive and disk opens fine on both machines, but when I click on install, both machines give me the following error message (even if I use the "C" key on startup..."startup disk was unable to select the install CD as the startup disk (-2)....There is no support for OS 9 or it's related browsers on the internet, and I use both my G3 (home) and G4 (business)....I need to have access to the internet in both locations. Would someone kindly give me some advice on how to upgrade to OS 10.4.......drivers?.......use external Hard drive? Many thanks in advance......

Hi Limnos......Many thanks for the info...good stuff. As it turns out, my G3 B&W is a server version and was given to me by a company that I worked for until they moved to northern (brrr) Wisconsin. It has two SCSI cards, one of them the LVD -2 ADPT card. Thanks to you I have already installed the firmware on the card. Some of the info on trhe G3 suggests that I need to be running O.S. 8.6 to upgrade to O.S. X???? I have been running O.S.9.2.1 for years but Comcast, E- Bay and half the rest of the world out there no longer supports Browsers, etc. for O.S. 9....Why would I need 8 when I have 9.2.1.that doesn't make much sense. This computer IMHO was way ahead of it's time and cost the company that gave it to me something in the neighborhood of $2700.00 when they bought it new! It has two firewire ports along with USB and the SCSI
cards and SCSI hard drive.....It is a great computer, and the only reason that I never tried to upgrade to O.S.10
sooner is the fact that it has been rock solid reliable running 9.2.1, and I kept hearing about "glitches going on with the early versions of O.S.10." You know how that one goes..."If it ain't broke, don't try to fix it". I had Adelphia Cable Internet for quite a few years, and they supported O.S.9, but their tech people for the most part were clueless about the macs. I really need to get X on this machine!
One final question...My G4 is a single processor 733 machine, and believe it or not was given to my son when it was only a year old! We didn't get an O.S. install disk with it, but the (gray) disk I just purchased IS
a G4 (specific) install/ restore disk that according to many threads I've seen should work on my G4. I haven't been able to determine from the info you so kindly gave me if it needs a firmware update or not? There seem to be so many versions of the G4 that I'm not sure what category it fits into as far as firmware requirements are concerned........It has plenty of RAM and two firewire ports, but beyond that I'm puzzled. Thanks again!

  • How do I fix PARKED cpu's in Windows 7 with i7920 processor?

First, let me say if it weren't for you guys in this forum I would have quit Premiere Elements 7 a long time ago. Keep up the good work. I don't know how you find the time to keep up with everything. I don't usually write to forums as I don't know what I'm doing. I try to wade through all the posts to find some kind of answers.
I was using a 1.73ghz core 2 duo Vista 32bit laptop to do movies. I take a lot of home video that nobody is going to watch. I didn't want to burn it up so I got a desktop   i7920 2.66 w 12 gb memory (overkill) 2 1TB  raid 1 drives Nvidia EN8400GS graphics Windows 7 Home premium 64 bit. (Iwould have preferred 64 bit Vista as Windows 7 has a lot of glitches but 7 came with computer). I looked around the forums for anything on unbalanced cpu usage but didn't see what I was looking for. Maybe I missed and you can point me in the right direction.
The problem with my laptop was one core was always doing 50 to 100% and the other was loafing according to performance monitor. Affinity says both cores used. So I get the new machine and only two cores doing 50 to 100% of the work, 4 are parked most of the time and others are loafing @ 5-10%. The only way to get them all working is realtime. That kicks them all into gear, but defeats the reason for having the i7 processor.
Lo and behold I find that this PARKING is designed into Windows 7 and possibly Vista. I was looking forward to have a somewhat balanced cpu usage. I am pretty sure you guys have figured out how to shut off the parking business so there is a fairly balanced use of cpu's. I looked around on the internet and guys are doing all kinds of stuff. I don't want to screw up my desktop. My nephew is fairly computer literate and trys to help me. But windows 7 is a new ball game. I have never screwed around in the bios but if that is necessary we can get it figured out.
I was originally goiing to ask some PE7 questions but this Parking irritates me more than not knowing stuff about PE7. Forgive me for the way I have written this stuff but I am not familiar with forum etiquette. Thanks for your help.
P.S. I found this goofy thing on another post when you changed to this new forum about the mouse movement and cpu usage going up. True. If I spin my mouse around in an Adobe window the cpu usage goes up to 10-15% sometimes.

    Nealeh,
Thanks for your suggestion. I read the other post you suggested and it seems Steve had the same frustration watching only 2 of the processors doing all the work. I dont think this is unique. Curious if XP has the same problem as Vista and Win 7.
I did play around with some video. Not as intense as you guys I am sure but I am doing basic video. Get it in and out the other end as a DVD. But I tried something that maybe you could try with your Quad and see what happens. I deal mostly with SD mpeg (.mpg) from my Sony camcorder. I opened up a new project in PE7 and imported 20+ files and then inserted each one to the timelline as quick as I could so they would get backed up waiting to get on the timeline. I got all of the cores to kick in but the total cpu usage was only 50%.
Also I have been converting old Disney movies from VHS through a Pyro AV Link 557. I like simple so I take the AVI and stuff it into Windows DVD Maker, one long 16 GB file or more. I select some text and push burn. Gives about 12 little motion memu buttons automatically. Process to start of DVD burn is 12-14 minutes. I burn them slow so I didn't count that time. I didn't do realtime but tried normal and high options. Didn't kick in all of the cores but the ones that did were parking in and out like crazy. I was not impressed with that. I would think once they kicked in they would stay in but not. Total CPU usage was still only 30-40%
I guess I will have to keep checking on the gamer sites. They seem to be working on the problem. World of Warcraft (WOW) has something built into the program if I read correctly where they can change the Processor Affinity Mask (CONFIG.wtf) but I have trouble following what they are talking about. I don't know if this can be found in Vista or Win7.
Thanks for your response. My graphics card is a GF8400GS. It was supposed to come with EN8400. This one is better?

  • All sorts of glitches with VW Palm Pixi Plus

    Hello,
I am curious if there is something inherently wrong with my phone, or if these are glitches within WebOS itself.
I have had all sorts of glitches happen over the past month or so and some are quite an issue, especially when I really need the phone.
Some of the glitches I can remember are as follow:
    1. Music player cause the phone to freeze when I clicked on a song. Had to reset
    2. I attempted to open google maps many times last night, when it would say I don't have an internet connection, even though the 3G logo was in the upper right corner. I had to do a reset. This was a major issue since I really needed directions at the time.
    3. All the settings and SSID name info and passphrase in the Mobile Hotspot app disappeared last night and I had to reinput it all.
    4. Sometimes I notice the phone is automatically restarting. This happened manny times when I first received the phone, but VW gave me a new battery, which fixed it. This feels more like a software issue now because it does it when it is just sitting on my desk.
    5. One day, I could make phone calls but I could not hear anything coming out of the speaker and later, the recipient informed me they could not hear me, even though the call connected. I tried, at the time to do a restart, which did not fix the issue. I then did a **bleep** down and removed the battery, which did not work. I did a battery swap (put the battery back in) a second time and finally the phone began working again.
    6. This has happened two times now, which is actually pretty creepy. One day the phone received a called and I heard this weird mid-pitch woo sound come out of the speaker. I did not know what was making the noise when I realized what it was, my phone was trying to ring. I picked up the call and was able to talk. This also happened yesterday in one of my classes where the phone was on vibrate (the vibrate switch was on), and I was connected to the Mobile Hotspot app. Out of nowhere, I began receiving a phone call and this same eery noise came out of it. I was under the impression when using the mobile hotspot, I would not be able to receive calls. The noise was piercing and odd, and I had to hit ignore, where the caller left a voicemail. Now, when in a situation where I cannot have my phone ring, this concerns me because the phone has a mind of its own. Additionally, I do not want to turn my phone off all the time to avoid ringtones, because it takes WebOS almost 3-4 minutes to boot up on the pixi, probably because it has a slow processor.
    7. There has been numerous issues with using my bluetooth headphones (A2DP). Sometimes when I connect the headphones and turn on the bluetooth on the phone, they connect fine, but I cannot hear any sound from the headphones nor the speaker on the phone. Sometimes after I have been on a call using the headphones as a bluetooth headset, when I go back to the music, I cannot play music at all on the headphones.
Overall, I feel these glitches are worth it because I think WebOS is far superiour to Android, and I think it is a great product, but these issues are starting to become an inconviense and I am not sure how to proceed. I know the phone may be under warranty, so I may need to call Palm, but I figured I would reach out here first and get a concensus of the issues to see if it is something I can resolve on my side first.
I am running the latest OS, which I think is 1.4.5, which I updated a few weeks ago. Some of the issues above happened before the update and some after.
Thank you for all your help,
    Tim
Post relates to: Pixi Plus p121vzw (Verizon)

    I appreciate the help.
Another issue I forgot to mention was with the email client. With my gmail account, it only shows 5-10 emails but I can keep scrolling like there is more emails. Additionally, I can actually click on the empty spaces and emails will show up. It is like the title and email info are not being shown in the preview (inbox) window. The irony is I also have a school account, which is hosted by gmail with a different domain, but all the emails show up fine. I even deleted the gmail account and re-imported it and the contacts, and the problem persists.
Regardless though, last night a new issue began. My vibrate ringer switch is malfunctioning. What is happening is when I turn on the ringer (put the switch in the off position), the switch does not fully close, where the ringer turns on for a second and then the vibrate goes back on. Even though the switch is in the up position, the switch is not closing all the way to close the circuit.
I took the case off and you can clearly see it is not catching in the lock position, or the spring is not pushing it up far enough to hold it in.
I admit, webOS is far superior than Android (I used a Droid for 6 months) but the build quality and glitches are quite a concern. I really hope they come out with some new hardware soon, because I am not sure how long I can go before I give up this pixi. I would not mind the pre, but I have read more horror stories regarding hardware. With HP now owning Palm, I am sure the hardware quality will increase and the palm universe will expand, minimizing software glitches because more users means more revenue, and more revenue means more staff programmers working on issues.
I can sort of get by webOS's shortcoming, but the hardware has to be there for me. This sucks because I am left with little options at this point (I do not want to go back to Android and who knows if the iPhone will ever come to VW, also, I am not in the mood to take on another platform as windows is in the midst of working on).
    Thank you again!

  • Freezing Macbook Pro. Graphical glitches and occasional 3 tones on start up. Hardware test shows no errors. Is it RAM or a graphics card on the way out, or software?

Recently my MacBook Pro has been freezing and showing bad graphical glitches. Multiple restarts eventually fix it and a couple of times the three tones break, three tones break warning has occurred on start up. From what I can find this is usually a RAM error but after doing a hardware check I get the response all is OK. This still happens after the check and I am unsure what the problem could be. Can anyone help? Could it be a memory issue, a hard drive issue, Graphics card issue (drivers are up to date) or is something up with the software. I also have a Bootcamp partition running Windows 7 too and this is a problem that presents itself there too.

    Most likely to be RAM:
    Beeps on startup:
1 beep = no RAM installed
2 beeps = incompatible RAM types
3 beeps = no good banks
4 beeps = no good boot images.
5 beeps = processor is not usable

I would suggest you take it to an Apple Store for a free diagnostic.

  • Macbook pro early 2011 - overheat and crash with blue screen and glitches

    Hi
since last wednesday my MBP has started to freeze and then crash with bluescreen, glitches and so on...
Most of the time doesnt not restart with any command as is overheating as well.
I did a clean installation on friday night and i am now running mavericks and then again on sunday it start with all the above issue. At the moment i am able to restart only if i reset NVRAM each time, which i do not think is really safe to do it everytime.
    i also tried
    Macs Fan Control
    gfxCardStatus
to fix but they doesn't help.
I read many customers are now experiencing similar problems with this mac as the GPU Amd is faulty.
APPLE SHOULD RECALL AND REPLACE IT or will lose many custumers
I am now waiting to be seen at Genius bar on sunday, however i read about etrecheck in this related post
    http:/https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5081857?start=0&tstart=0
and meanwhile i want to hear your opinion...
    Looking forward

  • Screen Flicker and Glitch on 24" iMac, Early 2009

For a while now, my iMac has been having somewhat random display glitches, flickers, freezes, and kernel panics that can only be fixed by shutting down the computer.
Most of these screen glitches go like this: The display flickers black quickly, letting me know that an issue is going to arise. The issues that could happen are as follows:
A blue line glitch (very common)
a random artifact glitch (somewhat uncommon)
    a freeze-up (very common)
    a kernel panic
    Let me describe these:
There are several types of "display glitches" I've been experiencing. Some of them involve random artifacts that are randomly displayed and seem to be hovering over whatever is going on on the screen–for example, once I was browsing Facebook and the glitch occurred, so a square of my browser screen was sort of cut out and stuck on the screen above everything else going on. The issue wasn't fixed until I restarted the computer. This glitch, however, wouldn't show up in screenshots. These are somewhat less common because it seems if this one happens then it either gets worse very fast and there are random pieces of my active windows all over the screen or it freezes the computer up entirely, or even results in a kernel panic.
Another "display glitch" that is far more common is a sort of line glitch. It's very strange: blue lines will outline random shapes and things all over the screen. Pictures on my browser appear distorted and videos look VERY weird. The dock has the lines and random blue pixels as well. The desktop background appears distorted. This glitch often starts with the screen flickering black and the various blue lines appearing. The lines change shape as the objects on the screen move around. The issue doesn't appear in screenshots but I documented it by taking crude videos and pictures on my phone that give examples.
Here's a link to my video of a video about a nonrelated screen glitch. I was actually searching Google for a solution but it turned out to be unhelpful, but since the screen glitch happened to be going on I decided to record it as an example. Notice how the blue lines move with the video...
    Here are some pictures:
This next screenshot looks a little creepy with the armored polar bear–it's a LoL build on Mobafire. CLICK HERE TO SEE WHAT IT'S SUPPOSED TO LOOK LIKE:
---NOTE: My computer actually JUST screen glitched and froze up completely, at which point I had to shut it down and reboot. Luckily the post was saved! Just in case you were wondering how often these things occur.
This issue is getting worse and worse. I'm not sure what triggers it, but it seems like graphics-intensive programs like 3D games can trigger it–especially, it seems, when I toggle on and off fullscreen. It looks like it could be a graphics card issue, because if it was a software problem it would seem like it should show up in the screenshots. It's sort of an underwhelming graphics card, but meh. My mom is having a panic attack and backing up everything on the computer and we're thinking about just reinstalling OS X altogether.
Here's some general info about the computer:

Any help would be appreciated. I've looked for solutions for quite some time, but none of the problems people seem to be experiencing match my issue. Thanks!

Lion causes your system to use more resources so it will run hotter. If you haven't cleaned you iMac's dust out:
As old as your iMac is, have you cleaned out the dust? Dust buildup can lead to over heating issues. Remove any and all things plugged into it including the power cord, Remove the RAM access grille. Vacuum all openings starting with the RAM access area (air intake). Vacuum all ports and plugs, DVD slot and the opening across the top of the rear of the body. Blow compressed air through all your openings and vacuum again to remove any dust you loosend. Reinstall the RAM grille. Plug in the keyboard and mouse if not blue tooth. Insert power cord...
You are now in a perfect position to do a
    SMC RESET
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
    Shut down the computer.
Unplug the computer's power cord and ALL peripherals.
    Wait 15 seconds.
    Attach the computers power cable.
Wait another 5 seconds and press the power button to turn on the computer.

  • Please help with glitch in AA3.01 on 64bit Win 7 Pro/ M audio 192?

This is very frustrating and it happens irregularly but repeatedly.  When recording, I sometimes get a very quick click or snap which is invisible on the waveform but can be seen in spectral view as a thin line running from top to bottom.  It can be edited out, but really slows down a production!
This sound is not caused by me.  It is far different from a mic 'pop.'   Yes, I use a blast shield, and am about a foot from the mic.   I might record 10 minutes and never hear it, or I might record ten minutes and hear it multiple times (maybe 6 to 10 times?)  Interestingly, I have never seen or heard it when recording silence,
    I have a new PC with WIn 7 Pro 64 bit  I have 9GB ram, 2 x 1TB drives. Gigabyte GA-X-58A-UD 3R motherboard.
My card is an M audio audiophile 192.  There don't appear to be new drivers beyond what I have loaded.  In fact, when I load the latest driver, although it apparently loads, it does not show as such in the M Audio driver window. 5 10 0 5074 is shown, even though the driver 'says' it loaded  the new one successfully.
Any and all advice is welcome.  This is driving me crazy and maybe away from Audition but I love the program and don't want to replace it!  Thanks!

    Thank you for your advice!
I use twin soundcards - one for professional audio - the other for Skype.  I
have tried moving the buffer to 4096, if I recall, but it didn't help.
Latency doesn't matter to me as I record sans headphones.
I can't really shut down everything on the computer since I must have access
to email and antivirus for email while I am recording.  My processor is an
    i7 and I don't think there's any overclocking going on.  I can't remember
what the dialog was on the M Audio driver, but I seem to recall something
    about several items being updated...
Would I be better off trying to emulate a 32 bit computer within the 64 bit
environment, or does that only turn everything down to 32 bit, not just AA3?
Another odd thing is I sometimes hear this glitch on playback where it IS
NOT recorded...  which I determine by playing back the audio in question
several times.  If not recorded, it'll glitch at a point, then on replay,
not.  When recorded, it's there in the spectral view, and each must be
edited out.  It's very annoying and time consuming.
Any other ideas are welcome.  I am uncomfortable with messing with the Bios
since I am not THAT technical.

  • Photoshop problems with displaying white text (and glitching in general)

    Hi there,
My Photoshop seems to be having some serious issues with displaying certain things, namely white text (which shows up as black), and a mix of other random elements. I've tried searching for symptoms that I've been having, but I can't seem to find anything relevant. Here is what is going on:
White text shows up as black. However, sometimes if I use blending options to give it a white Color Overlay, it will become white. Sometimes it doesn't matter, it will show up as black regardless. Other colors are not affected. I have tried changing colors back and forth. the moment I switch the color back to white, it shows up as black.
Smart objects are broken. I can still find a smart object in the Layers window, but it will just display as one of two things: nothing/transparent (but the layer inside still contains everything it used to), or the way it is supposed to look but with a huge black bar over it (or a glitch tv-error fuzz bar). I've tried taking all of the elements in the Smart Object and bringing it into the original file, but then the image looks super fuzzy-glitchy.
I've attached a screenshot of what I mean by this fuzz-glitch thing below. This example is black and white, but it can be literally any color and/or any rainbow of colors. This is what happened when I created a new 1000px x 1000px document with a white background. Notice how it isn't ENTIRELY glitchy fuzz. Only certain parts of it are covered.
Please help! Does anyone know how to solve this? I've tried restarting Photoshop, restarting my computer, changing the Advanced Graphics Processor Settings Drawing Mode from Normal to Basic, changing the amount of memory usage that I let Photoshop use (down AND up), and nothing gets fixed. The problem occurs in the middle of working on Photoshop
My computer information is as follows:
MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2013) running OSX Yosemite
    3 GHz Intel Core i7
    8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Intel HD Graphics 4000 1024 MB
    Thanks!

Have you tried resetting the Type tool by right clicking here:
    Have you tried resetting Preferences?
A logical next step would be to reset your Preferences.
    To reset Preferences:
If Photoshop is already open on your screen, close it (Quit). Then hold down Shift+Ctrl+Alt (Win) / Shift+Command+Option (Mac) on your keyboard and start Photoshop.
A dialog box will pop up asking if you want to delete the existing Preferences file (the "Settings"). Click Yes in the dialog box. The existing Preferences file will be scrapped and a new one will be created.

  • ATI Radeon HD 6520G / 7600M troubles. Glitches, crashing and such.

I've been am having issues with getting my graphics card to work properly.
EDIT: tl;dr Running cinnamon with xf86-video-ati is no bueno https://dl.dropbox.com/u/7122698/bbs_ar … adface.png (other stuff happen as well, but this is the most annoying)
I was using catalyst until recently. When I deemed the glitches and the occasional crashing (which I assumed were caused by the driver) to be too much,
I decided to switch over to xf86-video-ati.
While the open source drivers seem to work, they manage to somehow corrupt pixmaps/textures and they manage to hang my computer even more often than the catalyst did.
    I'm running aur/linux-lqx 3.6.4-1-lqx (as well as core/linux 3.6.5-1), extra/xf86-video-ati 1:6.14.6-2, extra/xorg-server 1.13.0-3, extra/gdm 3.6.1-2 and aur/cinnamon 1.6.4-4 . I've
also moved the damn thing to core/systemd 195-2 with sysvcompat.
I doubt that the problems are caused by gnome 3.6 having troubles with systemd or ati drivers, as I'm also having texture corruptions in opengl applications (using SDL for init stuff.)
I'm sure that there is nothing wrong with my cards, as they work fine under windows.
Right now I'm running using late kms start.
/etc/X11/ contains configs for twm, xinit and input drivers (all installed by their respective pkgs), as well as the config that I'm using right now:
    /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-radeon.conf
    Section "Device"
    Identifier "UghImSoAngryNow"
    Driver "radeon"
    Option "NoAccel" "on"
    EndSection
This is, of course, not preferable. However, it fixes nearly all the pixmap corruption problems and I haven't gotten it to die on me yet. Occasionally, my desktop background becomes
black with lines of varying (read: 50) shades of grey (aka. white noise), before it reloads itself, but haven't crashed yet.
The wiki page on ATI tells me to try and disable KMS by booting with radeon.modeset=0 or nomodeset. However, this causes Xorg to fall back to xf86-video-vesa, which
is itself quite glitchy (cursor flickers, all ttys are corrupted (unusable) except for the one I'm on, etc.)
Any help fixing this would be greatly appreciated.
(I'll see if I can post screens with the artifacts.)

Nope. Minecraft seems to run fine, albeit quite slowly:

    Cinnamon screenshot: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/7122698/bbs_ar … adface.png
The rendering errors at the bottom border of the "Cinnamon Settings" window and the white boxes between the chromium tabs. These are more or less permanent, they stay there until the window is destroyed, and reappear quickly after the window is first rendered. The white noise looking things on the chromium window stay there until the window repaints itself. Moving the chromium window causes the white noise to start flickering.
The screen froze when I opened a nautilus window and tried to resize it. Xorg.0.log doesn't mention any errors.
This doesn't happen in Cinnamon 2D, so I assume it has something to do with the OpenGL implementation.

I'm thinking that I've managed to improperly configure the drivers, although I don't see how.

The .wad (data file containing all the game's assets) isn't corrupted. The engine itself might be, as the sprites are always corrupted in the same way. Note the barrel on the right side that has parts of a lower resolution version of itself (mipmapping) and blue armour, the light thingy in the middle that contains a lower resolution of itself and a shotgun ammo, and the pillar in the other room that is just not nice to look at. Moving away or towards the sprite (which effectively changes the mipmap level rendered) might make the sprite look as it is supposed to be.

  • Graphical glitch

When I look at itunes, sometimes the items have a graphical glitch. Sort of doubling themselves, and just straight out looking wrong. When I take a screenshot, the screenshot has no glitches, but the actual screen does. Heres a picture I took of the screen with my iphone.
I'm not sure if theres anything else I should include, so I'll include this.
    Itunes Version 12.1.0.50
MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013)
    OS X Yosemite Version 10.10.2
Processor 2.6 GHz Intel Core i7
Graphics: Intel Iris Pro and NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M

    See.

  • Nokia N8 CPU Problem? Bug? Glitch? Please read!!

Hi there, I just discovered a... problem? or a bug? a glitch? whatever. I discovered a problem on my Nokia N8 about it's CPU speed.. I accidentally saw on the application X-plore that my N8's CPU is set to just only 192 MHz! I was schocked when I saw that since the CPU of Nokia N8 is said to be at 680 MHz. I rebooted my N8 to refresh it. After I rebooted my N8, I did not run any app and started X-plore right away and check it again. To my surprise, it's still set at 192 MHz. So I posted about this thing on a forum and asked if it's the same as their N8's. So someone replied and said his N8 was also set at that speed. So I started to worry.
Other Nokia N8 users please also check yours. All you have to do is install X-plore, just find it over Google.

Battery definitely comes first. But it doesn't mean it has to be 2 days standby time when processor speed is not enough to process mail or starting cam. Think how superior Nokia will be if battery life is a bit below this with a better processor speed.
If you asks to anroid lover or iphone lover what will come first in their are processor speed & phone material quality, where Nokia both falls behind. Though all other options are still great than iphone or anroids.
    hmmmm.
My Sister had the HTC Desire when it can out. And though she loved the phone, she couldn't stand the fact that when she went out with it, not only did she have to think about where she could charge it, but also had to carry a micro USB cable to work just for that purpose too.
She's since upgraded to the Galaxy S, and though the phone is much snappier and brighter, her main wow factor was............." at least I don't have to carry the USB lead anymore!!"
So in my estimation, I can live my so called "mediocre" Symbian^3 N8 speed phone, than the worlds fastest dual, triple or quad core phone which will no doubt have only half the life anyway.
