Processor Upgrade-AMD A6-5350M APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics, 2900 Mhz, 2 Core(s)

Hi.  I was wondering if my Thinkpad Edge E545 w/ Processor AMD A6-5350M APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics, 2900 Mhz, 2 Core(s), 2 Logical Processor(s),  can be upgraded.  If so, what is the best upgrade option?.   ????  Also, what is the socket type?

I have followed all the online advice about settings under the Preferences/Performance interface, but nothing fixes the problem. Can anyone please help?

    Hi,
The second manual of the following link will answer your questions. You can find the first answer on page #1. Please note, you have to check BIOS before upgrading CPU. For the second question, no available part for your machine (page #45) that means no connectors for you to plug all the lights of a backlit keyboard.

    Hi there,
I bought a laptop "HP Pavilion 15 notebook pc with AMD A6-5200 APU and product number E8A72UA#ABA with window 8 on it but suddenly something went wrong that I had to formate it.
But since then, all my USB had stop functioning I could'nt find the driver for the USB. please somebody help me.
    Thanks

    Hi:
Windows 8 is supposed to have the USB drivers incorporated in its driver database.
The only suggestion I can offer, would be to install the chipset driver directly from AMD and see if that restores functionality to the USB 3 ports.

  • Imac with radeon x 1600 graphics card will not send signal to projector

I am using an Imac running Boot Camp. The Imac has a Radeon X 1600 graphics card. I have installed the latest driver in XP. The Device manager recognizes the correct card.
The problem: I cannot get our projector to pick up the signal from the Imac. I have systematically gone through all the display settings. Others who have similar problems seem to have graphics cards with additional software that allows them to select a clone display feature.
Any thoughts? The projector works fine with a macbook running bootcamp (xp).

Hi Cathy and welcome to Discussions,
sounds to me as if you are missing the Catalyst Control Center, which usually provides these kinds of setting.
You can download both Drivers and the Control Center from the ATI/AMD website here: http://ati.amd.com/support/drivers/mac/bootcamp-xp.html
The Control Center needs a Windows where the .NET Framework (2.0 at least) is already installed before installing the Control Center, otherwise it does not work.
You can download that from Microsoft http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=0856eacb-4362-4b0d-8edd -aab15c5e04f5&displaylang=en
    Hope it helps.

Install the driver that is available either by download from the HP support portal download section or the HP Recovery manager. You can access the Recovery Manager while logged into Windows or by booting to the usb recovery media you should have created by now.
Try the following HP graphics softpaq version 13.152.1.3000. The HP softpaq will also reinstall the notebook's chipset drivers.

Do not install drivers from AMD.
If you read the fine print at AMD, you will find that AMD cautions you that it is best to use the notebook manufacturer's drivers.

  • AMD display drivers for A8-3500M APU with Radeon Graphics

Hey guys, I hope you're all doing well today!
I have recently installed a fresh version of Windows 7 on my laptop and I'm having a bit of a strange experience with Windows Update.
I went to the AMD website and downloaded the latest version (4/15/14) of the diplay driver that is for my processor and display card; things seemed to work great, however when I ran Windows update there was an "optional update" for the same driver from 2011! I mean, to me that is absurd! Why is this showing up? Have I done something incorrectly?
    anyway I have a HP Pavilion dv6, 8gb ram, 64-bit, SP1, yada-yada.

    Hey @SparkyCompTech ,
Welcome back to the HP Forums!
I see you have questions about the optional Windows update for your graphics card drivers.
The Windows updates are not meant to be the most recent drivers for your product. You will always find the most recent drivers from the manufacturers website, hence why most of these type of updates are entirely optional. You have done nothing wrong.
If you wish, you can hide the optional update.
To hide updates in Windows 7:
    1. Click Start.
    2. Type Update in the search.
    3. Click Windows Update.
    4. Click Check for updates.
    5. Click on # important updates are available. Where # is the number of available updates.
    6. Right click on the update and choose Hide update. If the update is not shown, click the Optional tab on the left.
    Hopefully this helps!

  • (L305D-S5934)Processor upgrades? Is it possible with my model?

I have the Toshiba Satellite L305D-S5934, and everything about this laptop is dandy... Besides it's processor.
The AMD Turion X2 was a great processor, maybe 3 years ago... But, in this day and age - it doesn't help me run jack.  My ATI Radeon 3100 graphics card is growing old too, but I'm pretty sure that there is no way for me to change it.
    Help?

You can upgrade to Yosemite. You WILL NOT be happy running in only 2gb of ram, you need AT LEAST 4gb and more is better.

  • Laptop AMD Processor upgrade

Product information:  HP Pavilion DV2615nr running Win Vista 32-bit, 1GB RAM, AMD Turion 64 X2 Mobile TL-58 (1.9GHz, socket S1, power wattage 31W). Speccy indicates laptop has a Wistron 30D6 motherboard (socket A).
I want to upgrade this slow system with a faster processor, more RAM and Windows 7 Professional 64-bit (or even downgrade to Win XP Pro 64-bit, at least for the short term)
I'm currently looking into adding RAM to a total of 4 GB.
I would appreciate some information in regards to the right processor I can upgrade to.  At this time I'm thinking to upgrade to a AMD Turion 64 X2 TL-68, which runs at 2.4GHz, although the wattage is different, 35 watts, whereas the current TL-58 specification is 31 watts, and both processors are 65nm SOI process technology.
Can someone indicate if I'm in the right track in choosing a compatible processor (the TL-68)?  Also, is there a better processor that I can successfully upgrade to, other that the TL-68?  I've heard that not all socket S1 processors will run on the same socket even if they physically fit in the socket, hence I'm a bit confused as to which processor to go to.
    Thanks.

  • HP Pavilion dm1 Notebook PC processor upgrade

    Hello,
I've recently purchased a HP Pavilion dm1z 4170us. I've had it for approximately 3 weeks and really enjoyed it. However I've found that the processor isn't really performing at the level i need. I'm currently utilizing the Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-2367M CPU @ 1.40GHz. I am wanting to upgrade this but I have little experience in performing such a replacement. So any information I could receive pertaining to this procedure would be greatly helpful. This would include what processor options I have and the steps in replacing it. If you need any more information about the notebook or anything else feel free to ask. This is my first post on this forum so I apologize if I posted to the wrong board. Thanks again for for any help.

    Hi,
This is a manual for your laptop:
    http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c04162986.pdf
It looks like the CPU is soldered to the motherboard because I can't find any AMD CPU as a spare part and also the motherboards are listed with each processor separately. That means the only option to get a better CPU is to replace the motherboard with the cpu already on it. In my opinion this entire series is a low voltage one and NOT GOOD for gaming. I have searched part number for the best possible motherboard and can't find any. It's going to be extremely expensive anyway.
