Palm Desktop 6.2 Install - "Error reading setup initialization file"
I am trying to install Palm Desktop 6.2 and HotSync Manager on Win Vista Home Premium 32-bit.
When I execute PalmDesktopWin62.exe I get a message “Error reading setup initialization file.”
I am installing this to sync my Sprint Centro via usb.
Thanks for any help
Post relates to: Centro (Sprint)
Post relates to: Centro (Sprint)I had this problem as well. I solved it by using an old Palm Desktop download instead of the one that Palm is providing now. My old copy was provided as a zip archive and the single file in the archive was named simply setup.exe. I guess the only difference between my old file and the file that Palm provides now has something to do with the installation software (it may be InstallShield; I don't remember for sure). In any case, if you are having this problem you might be able to find a usable file out there somewhere.

Error 1723 - Long time loyal Blackberry TOUR user - cannot install recent desktop manager
I cannot install the latest desktop manager on Windows 7. I have used this phone for YEARS and also syncd fine. Now I am dead in the water. The latest install package needs TO BE FIXED. Well into the installation I get the following message:

Please help.

Select your Blackberry Model - Your Service Provider.- Verify the Blackberry Desktop Software, which displays and download the latest related to your model.... Those are specifically suitable for your blackberry model... Hope this help..
Actually, not quite...the issue for the OP was the Desktop Software, the link you provided is for Device Software. Indeed, the full portal for Device Software is thus:
http://us.blackberry.com/support/apps-and-software/desktop-and-device-download-sites.html
There is only one version of Desktop Software, while there are hundreds of versions of Device Software. The Desktop Software, installed to the PC first, followed by installation to the PC of the specific Device Software, is the best way to ensure proper functionality between the PC and the device. However, as with all technology, there is no 100% guarantee.
Good luck!

Error 1723 Installing Desktop Software
Good Day!
HELP! I cannot load the Deskstop Software 7.1 on my laptop due to a Error 1723.
I have tried the Java reload with the same results.
====
I was sent a BB Z30 to replace my BB 9930, when the keyboard stopped responding.
HUGE MISTAKE! the Calendar never came over, despite many attempts and I finally found a website the said Contacts & Calendars are not guaranteed to come over during the migration to OS 10.
I sent back the defected phone before the 5 days were up.
Unfortunately, after 6 days of trying to load my "Legacy File" to the Z30 with a custom restore of only Calendar, I decided to use the "Like New Replacement" BB9930 I was sent.
====
I did not add anything new to my Z30, so how do I:
1- Overcome this Error 1723; and
2- Restore ALL my data from the Legacy File unto my replacement 9930?
I still have my SIM card from the defecttve 9930
Thank you,

ProClarity Desktop Professional 6.3 64-Bit Install Issue
I'm having a bit of an issue getting this installed on a new machine. I was initially having trouble getting the prerequisites installed but thanks to an article i found looking through
these forums i have managed to get to the point of actually installing ProClarity. When i launch either "ProClarity Desktop Professional.msi" or the Setup.exe from
D:\Desktop Install\install the installer launches, progresses to a certain point and then crashes out with the below error:
"Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 or better is required for the installation of ProClarity Desktop Professional 6.3. You can update internet explorer at http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/default.asp"
I have received this error whilst running IE8, IE8(using the IE7 engine), IE9, the multiple IE install and variations of each running alongside each other. I tried using a process monitor so i could discover how the installer determines which version
of IE is being used but i haven't been able to find a single registry key or file that is checked for version. I've pretty much hit a roadblock, nothing i have tried has worked or yielded any more info for me to go on - a google search
returns squat.
Has anyone else come across this issue?Nobody?
The section of the logs that seems to be the point of failure is below. It looks to have something to do with the C++ Redists but i have 2005, 2008 & 2010 installed. I've checked the file locations and they are all correct. Even a nudge in the right
direction would be hugely appreciated.

Hello, I trying to update Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop but there is an error after instalation (error code: 50)
Uninstalling and installing again - nothing change.Hi slawek,
Please refer to the thread below where this issue has been discussed:
Error code 50
Regards,
Sheena -
I have Creative Suite 6 Design and Web Premium. The Application Manager applied updates to the CS6 Perpetual Licanse Products, but did not recognize I have a new Creative Cloud Subscription for Phoroshop and Lightroom. When attempting to install Creative Cloud Desktop, the installation fails with no details available other than the error message above.
System is Win 8.1, Intel 3770 Quad Core CPU, 32 GB Memory, 2 Toshiba 3TB HDD SATA 3 configured as RAID 1. . System runs CS 6 no issues. Have turned off the Antivirus and Firewall, cleared cache on IE 10, closed all browsers after CC desktop starts to download. CC Desktop does not show in win 8, but does show on PC in Program Files (x86), but I cannot see an executable.
Have also tried to download Creative Cloud Desktop as a stand-alone (www.adobe.com/go/adobecreativecloudapp) and also by downloading Photoshop CC as data indicates any product downloaded will install the desktop of CC.
CreativeCloudSet-up.exe does exist on PC and properties are 2,775KB size.Running the setup from the app on PC yeilds same results - Product downloads and does not install.
The error block is Adobe Installer (at top)

Error 1723 - Cannot Install or Uninstall
I mistakenly installed 64 bit Java 6 Update 20 on my 64 bit computer and then realized that I needed the 32 bit since I use IE 32 bit.
I used the Control panel to unistall it, but it gives me error 1723. i tried to install 64 bit Java 6 Update 21 hoping it would over-write the problem files and then I could uninstall it. Still get an error 1723.
I tried to install J6 update 21 32 bit and it worked! ... but the control panel icon for java is a blank document. If I click that white icon, it gives an error saying Application not found. The Programs control panel now has both J6 u20 64 bit and j6 u21 32 bit but I still get 1723 error when I uninstall the 64 bit program.
I have searched the Internet. Most people say to use the Windows installer clean up but the link to that page goes to something that handles only office clean up. Elsewehere you can find people saying that Apple withdrew the cleanup utility.
Is there a utility that "completely removes all versions of Java" the way there is for MacAfee and Norton products?
Anybody have any ideas? Do I just delete a directory? What about remnants in the registry?I was able to completely uninstall by running 'advanced system care free' - registry fix and then security analyzer (alternating - 3 x each until there was no mention of java in the lists). i then was able to run program uninstall for java from vista control panel. Finally ran a final set of registry and security analyzer passes (only required 1 pass).
