Procuring complex services in SRM

Hi,
We are studying the possibilty of using SRM for complex services procurement. By complex services we mean hierachical structures, where you can have items and lines, that act like "sub-items" of the major service.
In a bid inviation, for instance, a supplier would then bid on the line items, and not on the item itself. The latter would only present the total value of the lines below it.
This is basically what MM offers for service structure.
However, as far as I know, SRM only deals with flat services, which means that such requirement represents major changes in the application, from shopping cart to service confirmation.
Has any of you ever come across a similar issue? If so, how was it handled?
Thanks and Regards,
Eduardo

Eduardo,
We have a similar requirement but have been informed that complex service specifications are not supported in SRM as of the latest SRM 5.0 release.

  • Procurement of services for fixing roller, which MM process to use?

    Dear All
    Have this problem:
    1.  Roller; procurement of service for fixing roller:
My senior MM consultant has suggested to use Standard Subcontracting process. However, the  old roller service cost should not be added up to the u201Cnewu201D roller cost and it makes STandard Subconstracting immpossible.
    Any suggestion?
Point will be given handsomely for any good suggestion.

    Hi,
You may use the sub-contract process for procurement of Service of fixing the roller, in case of old roller service cost, you may just add an additional line with item category "D" for service charges.
You will do a 541 movement for the line item 1 and subsequent GR for hitting the consumption account.
You will do a Service entry for the line item 2
During MIRO, the vendor will be paid for both sub-contract charges and also the service changes
Trust this will resolve your issue

  • Unable to assign supplier in shopping cart for services in SRM 7.0 SC

One particular user is Unable to assign supplier in shopping cart for services in SRM 7.0 Shopping Cart.  There is no difference in the roles assigned to him.  He is able to assign supplier for materials but not services.  Any suggestions?
    Thanks
    Sanjeev

    Hi
From where he is buying the Services - free text or catalog or service masters.
Do you have other users having same problem?
Have you built a custom role in your landscape. Assign SAP All to his role temporarily and see if that happens again. If so, activate the Trace on his id and ask him to order a service SC to find out where he is missing the authorizations....

  • Procurement Card functionality in SRM

    Hi,
I am looking into implementing Procurement card functionality in SRM.  I remember something about P cards in SRM only work in the standalone scenario but is this still correct.  What are the limitations of the procurement card solution within SRM that I should be aware of before deciding on the SRM option or looking at a third party application.

    Hi,
An industrial fan in your company has to be repaired because
of plant maintenance work. An external service provider will be
carrying out this work. For this purpose you will use External Service management.
The steps for procurement of External Service management are :
    1. Determination of requirement,
    2. Service Specification,
    3. Source determination,
    4. Vendor Selection,
    5. Bid Invitation,
    6.Maintaion & compare Quotation,
    7.PO Processing,
    8. PO Monitoring,
    9. Maintain Service Entry Sheet,
    10. Acceptance of Service Entry Sheet,
    11. Invoice Verification,
    12. Payment.

  • Shopping Cart with Service Item (SRM 7.02) - not created successfully

    Hi Experts,
We have a requirement to create a Shopping Cart with Service Item (SRM 7.02) from PR Data coming from ECC via standard Proxy (PurchaseRequestERPSourcingRequest_In). But we are not able to create the SC with Service Items, though we are successfully able to create SC for Material Items successfully.
Please suggest, what can be the additional parameters to be passed in order to create a SC with Service Items in SRM 7.02.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Gaurav Gupta.

    Hi Gaurav,
Thanks for your response, but we have standlone scenario( No ECC), we have the Service Hierarchy, Category and Product all setup for Service, yet the system is not creating the SC with Service Item via PR Data Coming in to SRM System.
Also, we tried the same directly from SRM system using describe what you need, and their as well the SC goes with Service category but when SC details are shown up it shows as Outline Item, where again we need to add subline using service category. Ideally i suppose it should take the Service Category which we added at the time of filling details in Describe what you need.
Please suggest, where in my main concern was in standalone SRM system if we have material PR data, then apart from the Category to be used Service is their any other parameter to be passed in, to create SC with Service Item.

    Gaurav

  • Procurement of Service

    Hi,
Please provide the detailed information how procurement of service differs from the procurement of Materials.
    Regards,

    Hi Raksab,
there isnt too much difference in the 2 procurements,
in matrl proc. u must have a mtr (MM01)l, and on the other hand for proc of services u should have services master(AC03).
for material u should have info record (relation for a particular mtrl and a vendor with rates) and on the other hand u should have rates maintained for the services too (ML45).
now u go on for making PO
in mtrl Proc. u make a normal PO w/o accnt assignment cat and item cat.
where as in serv, proc. u u maintain the services with accnt asst cat and item cat (K & D respectively cld b "U" also in place of "K") since u can never stock the services, but u need to give a cost center or grp of cost centers(when "K" is used ) and G/L accnt i.e for the consumption, if u give "U" as accnt ***, cat then u can give cost centers in the latter stages. on the other hand u store the mtrl in the store so this is not needed there.
now at the time of recieving
u do MIGO for the mtrl where as on the other side u accept the services via ML81N.
then u do MIRO in both the cases u do MIRO based on the PO no,
this is the most basic cycle.
there there cld b many different ways of completing these 2 cycles....
    Hope it helps,

  • Difference between std procurement and service procurement & advantages?

    Dear Gurus,
what are the differences between standard procurement and service procurement &
    advantages of External services management?
    Thanks...

    hi,
In std procurement we procure materials while in the service procurement we procure services...sap has given these two differently may be bacause while procuring the services you never know in advance that how much exact amount is req. just because you don't know for eg wether there is any req. of changing the parts, or general maintenence or anything else...
so due to this you use the value limits....
Advantage: As the services procured are not FIXED as in the std procurement, we do have flexibility for adding up the new services as per the req...
and as we provide the value limits, in the real time scenerio it doesnot cause any FI problem later...

  • Service procurement & implementation scenario in SRM 7.0

    Hi Guys,
I would like to know if in SRM 7.0 the new Service Procurement External Staffing scenario would work in the Extended classic scenario implementation? Or is this only supported in standalone?
Do we have to custom build the document exchange between ECC - SRM - SUS for confirmation and invoice documents like in SRM 5.0. I am searching for a possibilty to let the service agents themselfs fill in the confirmation with the service entry sheet.
If the extended classic scenario is supported then we are quickly done. Other possibility is to let an existing web application (to capture time sheets) generate a XML confirmation message and send this message to EBP via XI. This way the hours can also be captured. Invoicing can then by handled e.g. by ERS. What do you think?
    Thx.
    Skander

    Hi Muthu,
Thx for your response, but these blogs do not provide an anwser to my question. I have read the release documentation of SRM 7.0, but even then I still have the above question.
Will this business scenario work in combination witht the extended classsic scenario (and how does SUS fits in this picture)?
    Kind Regards,
    Skander

  • How can I firce procurement Card settlement in SRM 7.0?

    Hello,
We are moving from SRM 5.0 to SRM 7.0, and I would like to understand if there is a way to force items to be settled to a procurement card in 7.0 (using an external cataog aggregator). Currently, in 5.0, we have a "P" appended to the end of a product category when they come from the catalog if they are forced to be settled to a procurement card. This means we also have to maintain all product categories twice (once with a P and once without) in COMM_HIERARCHY. we have a BADI in place to force the pro card selection if the product category ends with a "P".
Is there an easier way in SRM 7.0? We want to replice PO's back to ECC but do not want to have to maintain all product categories twice in both environments!
Thanks in advance for any help!
    -Eric

    Masa,
Can you please provide more details on this for me? Is the "Customer Field" the supplier, because we would like to be able to have different settlement methods for each supplier in some cases, because it will be possible to procure items from a supplier for MRO items and settle them to a work order and cost center, while still procuring from that same supplier for non maintenance items that will be paid for with a procurement card.
    Thanks - Eric

  • Determination of Source for services in SRM rel 4.0

    Hi
We have requirement to have list of vendors determine automatically in shopping carts for services.
In this release 4.0 if you have contracts in R/3 this determining of vendors works for non-service/material items but not for service.
I log a call with OSS and they say this is not included in SRM4.0 due to different backend structure for services.
If we don't upgrade to SRM 5.0, how could we get SRM to give users list of vendors which have contracts for selected shopping cart services in R/3?
I will give points for answers
    ty, Z.

    Hi Zuzanna Breda,
You can replicate your contract created in the backend R/3 system as a Vendor list.
If you click on Source of Supply and go into preffered vendor you will be able to see the option vendor list over there which is nothing but the contract and the items.
You can create vendor list in the SRM system or can replicate the contracts for services/material as a vendorlist.
You can also define an output type for the contracts so that any changes or while creating a new contract in the backend system it gets automatically replicated into SRM
There are standard function modules to create the vendor list.
    Cheers
    Sandy

  • MDM Server Password Parameter in SRM Web Service for SRM MDM Catalog 2.0

    Hi Experts,
We have password set on our MDM server. I am little confused about how to define MDM server password parameter in external Web service Call structure in SRM System for SRM MDM Catalog 2.0.
Will Catalog webservice work, if we don;t define password for MDM server in webservice??if No, then please let me know how to define MDM server password in SRM websevice.
Any help will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Shiv

    Hi Shiv,
The MDM Server password is needed when you are changing Webdynpro UI Configuration.
For catalogs, all you need is the repository userid/password parameters in the call structutre.

  • Capture of bids for procurement and workflow in SRM

    Dear Gurus,
I am new to SAP. I would like to ask which functionality in SRM can do the following:
    1. Capture bids for procurement
    2. Use workflow to automate the evaluation and approval of the bids received (Matching bid price against budgeted cost)
    3. Use workflow to support the automatic routing of all submissions and evaluations for approvals in respect of u201CApproval to Negotiateu201D and u201CApproval to Awardu201D.
    4. Segregate bids that meet or are lower than the budgeted cost from those that are in excess, marking the latter in different colour
    5. Capture of all data, especially from the lowest bidder

    Hi,
All the functionalities are there in  the SAP Bidding Engine(Strategic sourcing)
