  • Can anyone point me toward a tutorial/video/anything that will show me how to use iMovie '11?

The Apple video tutorial was just a commercial. Other info I found on Apple site was for the iPad. I have a MacBook Pro. I need to learn how to use iMovie '11 from the start. Very start. To borrow a line from a movie 'Talk to me like I'm a 5-year-old.' For example, what is the difference between a 'project' and an 'event'? Which one do I create first?  How do I adjust the exposure and color on my movies? Once I am done with my movie how do I tell computer/software to 'save' it because I am done. Then where is it? These are just examples.
I'd love to find any basic tutorial/video/help.
I got a book but it's way too advanced.
    Thank you.

There is also a good web page if you are interested in transfering iOS Projects from iPad/iPhone/iPod to iMovie '11 for the desktop:

I just bought photoshop elements 13 last night. Today I am watching tutorial videos to show me how to use it, but the videos are showing me things I don't have. Asking me to click on tabs i don't have. Why is this? Is there another way I can learn? Or is my download messed up and not giving me everything I need?

Got a link showing us which video tutorials you're watching and examples of what's missing in your software?

  • When I open iWeb it does not "Highlight" the New site or new page options. It ahs had this issue for over a year! I have tried uninstalling and re-installing it. What do I do? It opens the tutorial video, then when you close it, nothing else is clickable.

Open iPhoto, select a couple of photos and use the Share ➙ iWeb ➙ Photo page menu option.  That has jump started iWeb for others.  I could take a couple of tries.
If that doesn't work try the following:
1 - delete the iWeb preference file, com.apple.iiWeb.plist, that resides in your
         User/Home()/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iWeb's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
         User/Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iWeb folder.
3 - launch iWeb and try again.

  • Any good Dreamweaver tutorial videos (not free online ones)?

I'm tired of trying to find decent online tutorial videos of Dreamweaver. I'd be willing to pay for something that really covered DW in-depth, and not like a weekend crash-learning course. Thanks.

Why does it have to be video???

There are some excellent, free written tutorials right here that get into DW depth. But I caution you, to be successful with DW you'll need to learn basic HTML and CSS code first.  Once you've got that under your belt, DW is a piece of cake to work with.

  • Tutorial videos do not load correctly. tried every possible setting in flash player. nothing helps.

I'm really getting insane. I got the Creative Cloud from my boss and the permission to use it at home - great! So I try to work myself into all the new stuff since I've used CS4 prviously. But all the tutorial videos load extremly slow and most of them stop loading at all randomly. I troed different settings (though there aren't may) for the flas player - nothing seems to work. I need those tutorials because I don't have the time to find out everything myself. Is there any advice to get the damn flash player to work? I'm using a Win7 PC.

  • Do you recommend me "Learning Oracle 11g Training DVD - Tutorial Video"?

    Hi
I found on Amazon "Learning Oracle 11g Training DVD - Tutorial Video by InfiniteSkills". Is it worth it? There are no Amazon reviews :-(
Do you use other video training? What do you recommend me?

I don't know if the video is any good, but Lewis Cunningham is a reasonably well-known authority on Oracle. He talks about the release of the video in his blog, gives a table of contents and a link to some samples:

  • How to produce a HD video compatible with a Samsung Smart TV

Using Compressor I need to produce a HD video compatible with an Smart Samsung TV.
I have tried many formats, but no one is readable. Could you help ?
    Celes

I did it with FCPX as mp4 without compressor.  I put it on a USB key and it was possible to see it on my Samsung connecting the key to a USB port of the TV.
I have not the video with me now and cannot give you more info about the exact codec. For sure it was taken with an Olympus camera at 1080p and edited with european standards. The Samsung was bought in Germany.
Nothing to do with your question but only as a tip: Samsung TV has a proprietary Formatting for external HD to be used for recording. They have to be formatted by the TV and any video you record on this HD from the TV can be seen only with the same TV set.  I found no way to edit or copy the recordings even to make a private backup.
For this reason I prefer to use an external receiver (Clarketech) to be free to edit the recordings.

  • Wohl's Final Cut Tutorial Videos

I just watched the interview with Michael Wohl from this thread:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=3559021&#3559021
Pretty interesting, actually ... I didn't know that Final Cut was originally for Windows?!?
Wohl seems to know his stuff, and I'm thinking of getting his tutorial videos from macProVideo.com. Before I plunk down the cash, has anyone else seen these? And are they good?
    http://www.macprovideo.com/tutorial/fcp101
    Thanks!
    G5   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

I bought the Michael Wohl FCP tutorial videos a couple of weeks ago. I have found them very informative - the package is subdivided into over 100 clips which makes it easy to navigate to the topic you want to review. But apart from being someone who really knows the topic, I found Michael to be a really good communicator - clear concise instructions, with good pointers as to work flow methods etc. The sample videos on the macprovideo website are a pretty good guide to the style of presentation.
It probably depends on your personal preference for a particular style or method of tuition, but (for someone more familiar with music software than video editing) I found the FCP videos to be great value, covering lots of useful, practical tips that I'd missed when reading through technical books like the Peachpit guides.
