Produciton version selection in MRP

Dear all,
we have prepared alt bom scenario for MTS with two prod versions.
I am facing one problem of production version selection while MRP.
In MTS scenario, system is picking the prod version no. 1 by default while creating order.
1. How we can configure/change the selection of Prod version while MRP?
2. I need to select the prod version on my choice in MTS / MRP(depends on materail availability)?
Thanks,
Jeevan

Hi,
Production Version  in Material Master in tab page "MRP 04". If BOM or Routing changes then PV also change. In Selection method two options are available related to PV- Selection by order quant. 1 Selection by explosion date 2 Selection by production version 3 Selection only by production version 1)With Selection by order quantity, the system chooses the alternative BOM into whose lot size range the order quantity falls. The lot size range and area of validity of the BOM apply. 2)With Selection by explosion date, the system chooses the alternative BOM into whose area of validity the date falls according to the setting BOM via dates. 3)With Selection by production version, the system chooses the alternative BOM defined in the valid production version. The lot size range and area of validity of the production version apply. 4) With Selection only by production version, the system chooses the alternative BOM defined in the valid production version. The lot size range and area of validity of the production version apply.
1. How we can configure/change the selection of Prod version while MRP?
=>OPL8 ->Production Version->1     Manual selection of production version
In MD61 - You can set  in User Parameter-Requirements type  - LSF  Make-to-stock production
2. I need to select the prod version on my choice in MTS / MRP(depends on material availability)?
=>In MD61 - You can set  in User Parameter-Requirements type  - LSF  Make-to-stock production
After this u can change PV while converting Plan order to production order.

Ashish

  • Production version selection in MRP run

    Hi all
here my requirment is to select the Alternative BOM in MRP run.
i have three alternative BOMs. and two routings. to make different combinations i was created Production version. so now my requirment was while run MRP how to choose production version manually. i was mantained MRP 4 screen for selection method as 3.
my All BOM validity dates r same and same lot size.
can any one suggest me how to choose production version manually in MRP run. otherwise system by default it choosing 1st alternative.
    Regards

    Hi All,
Thanks for all your suggestions. here my requirment was not matching with these.
    my req was
    1. want to select prod version while run MRP.
    2. my demand was MTS.
    3. i already marked in MRP 4 Screen as selection method as 3.
    Constrains
my BOM validity dates r same.
    lot sizes r same.
i am giving hints for this.
In Customization - BOM selection ID, Selection priority and BOM usage, Alternative selection of BOM in MRP.
i was tried to mantain this. still system picks the default as first production version.
can u try for this. how we can configure in SAP.
    example.
i have one material as M-20. it has differnt grads of mixing as R1,R2,R3 alternative BOMs. all alternatives have same materials with differnt Compositions. i want to choose one alternative while run MRP. But system by default picking first alternative BOM.

  • Production version selection according to explosion date

    Hello
In customizing for MRP (OPPQ), parameters for BOM explosion / routing selection is 3 (BOM explosion number/order start date).
In MRP4 view of material master, selection method for BOM explosion is 2 (Selection by production version).
    No MRP group is assigned.
    I have 3 production versions : one for 2014, one for 2015, one for 2016 :
I use a BOM explosion number with fixed key date 1st December 2015 :
When manually creating a planned order with dates in 2014 and explosion number EXP_1215 (fixed key date 1st December 2015), Production Version PV1 is selected (valid for 2014), but no routing is selected because explosion date is BOM explosion number, and in PV1 there is no valid routing in 2015 :
Is it possible to select production version according to explosion date, and not order dates ?

    Hi Tristan
The following modification note can be used to influence the selection of production version on planned orders:
351773 - Selection of production versions for planned order
Alternatively, you can create your own logic using BAdI MD_MODIFY_PRODVERS.

  • BOM selection during MRP running

    Hi,
I have a question about BOM selection during MRP running...
I have three production version and all of them are valid at the same time..I get a problem "no BOM data seletion" during MRP
running..I suspect it is due to that I have three production version and MRP didn't know take which one..Can anyone tell me
where can i config it or what's wrong with it in my situation?
btw,BOM usage and stats are correct .so is the router data..since MRP is running well if i only have one PV..thanks..

    Hi Monst,
Looking at the screenshots you uploaded, it seems that the validity of each of the production version is from 7.12.2011 to 1.12.2012.
Please check whether for Planned order no. 36659 alternative BOM no. 1 is getting selected (Since BOM selection ID is 2).
For planned order nos. 36660, 36661 and 36662, the start date is perhaps before 7.12.2011 and end date as we can see lies in the validity period of production version. Hence, neither of the alternatives of the BOM is getting selected.
For verifying the above logic, please make the BOM selection method as 3 (selection only by production version) and run the MRP. I think MRP will get terminated in this case since no BOM will be chosen for first planned order.
Just in case u need to select the BOM for planned orders, you can manually enter the production version no. in the planned order change mode.
Please tell if this helps and revert back.

    Chetan.

  • Production version selection based on Process order type

    Hi,
    I have the following requirement.
A material is having two production version one is for R&D and one is for regular production. Now two process order types one for R&D and one for regular production. Now during creation of process order if we use order type of R&D then it has to select production version of R&D and if we use order type of regular productionthen it has to select production version of regular production. This selection has to be happened automatically. How this can be configured.
    Thanks
    Vinamrath.

    Dear Kumar,
Assuming the production version selection is automatic in  the order type dependent parameters, then during order creation this
can be automated only through validity date of the production version or else by locking the production version manually which
should not get picked or else only through different Lot Size.
    Check and revert.

  • Component selection in MRP

    Dear all,
We have material BOM & order BOM for same material. But at the time of MRP run order BOM should be selected even setting is also made in OPPQ but components are not getting planned in MRP.
    Please suggest the solution.
    Regards,
    SAP CONS

    Dear,
    1. Check the material having valid date BOM, ie BOM should be available on planned order basic start.
    2. Check the BOM usage
    3. check the BOM status ( Active or inactive)
    4. Check material assigned with any prod version.
    5. In MRP4 view check the BOM selection method. Lot size means check the lot size in BOM header.
And MRP type should PD please check and come back.

  • Bom selection during mrp

Hi, in oppq we are specifying the bom sel id as 01, pls explain how to see this sel id in bom for any fert material? how to link those.

    Hi,
When you say you have 2 BOM's, are you referring to alternative bom's or bom usages ?
If it is BOM usage, then OS31 for ID 01 decides which BOM usage has priorty depending on the application where it is being used.
If you referring to BOM alternatives, then check the validity dates, the lot sizes of the 2 bom's. If they are identical & there is no difference between them, system by default picks the first valid alternative. But if you want to have alternative 2 picked, then you can work with production versions where you define version 1 with BOM altt. 2 & prodn version 2 with bom alt. 1. Set selection method in MRP-4 view to 2.
System will then pick bom alt 2. Alternatively you can set the BOM status to 2 at header level for bom alt - 2 as suggested above.

  • Bom selection in mrp

    Dear All,
Can anyone explaine why MRP always selects the first alternative of Bom during MRP RUN?????
    Regards
    Prashant

    Hello Prashant Patil,
If you have more than one BOM (Alternative BOM) and all are meetings (i;e. BOM Lot Size , Bom Status, valid area and period of validity, priority for bom usage in define order of priority of Bom ),  in  the required settings then the first Alternative will be selected by defualt in the MRP planning run.
    Hope clear to you.

defining that Versions to be selected manually. But when i am converting
my planned order , the version is selected automatically.

version is to be selected. I am unable to trace where i am doing mistake.
Kindly help me in solving this problem.
      Thanks in advance.

  • Production version selection

    Hi
If we have two production version with same lot size quantity and same validity date
On what basis system determines IN THE PRODUCTION OR PROCESS ORDERS.
The selection key in Material master is Production version only
    Please explain the logic
    Regards
    Sasikanth

What is the basis for the Selecting the production version .
How the system identify this is the first production version ?
system will check the validity date, from lot size and to lot size with requirement qty,  if both the PV has valid on date having same lot size, System will take first created PV, if the first created PV is locked, then system will take second PV
If i created Version with Number 1000, 1001
and if we kept 1001 as the first , Which version system will create ?
System will take first created PV, if 1001 is created as first then system will take 1001

  • Automatic Production Version Selection

    Dear All,
There are two production versions 0001 and 0002 for a finished material. When I create production order from planned order it automatically selects version 0001. If I want it to select version 0002 automatically what should I do?
    Regards
    Hammad

    Hi Hammad,
As per your querry, you want production version 0002 should be selected automatically when you create production order instead od PV 0001. If you want PV 0002 should be selected automatically then,
    1. Maintain lot size of of PV 0002 to quantity which you usually use for the production. So when you create production order system will use PV0002 based on lot size.
    2. Or change validity period of PV0001 to a date which is outside the planning period. So it will be no longer valid in the period in which you are creating production order.
    3. As specified by experts, you can change PV selection to manual by going to transaction COR4. And change selection of PV to manual selection for your order type or you can change it by going to transaction MM02. Then lock production version by selecting locked for any usuage.
Hope this resolve your issue, please reward if it is usefull.
    Regards,
    Avinash.

  • Warehouse selection in MRP

Customers using MRP wizard of SBO 2005A, have requested the ability to show MRP requirements by warehouse.
Currently at step 3 you can select the required warehouses, but the MRP wizard calculates the requirements for ALL warehouses, not just those warehouses defined at step 3.
It is my understanding that this is a missing functionality, and is being considered for inclusion in SBO V2007A but as yet has not been included.
Can someone advise if and when it will be inlcuded in either 2005A or 2007A, and if there is a workaround to this problem.
    Kind regards
    Nicola

    Hello, colleagues!
We have a big challenge with MRP when the customer uses more than 1 warehouse.
He can't use MRP in this case and there is only one way - to look for heavy add-on.
If the customer has more than 1 warehouse in different locations, he can not use MRP for planning purchase orders, because B1 calculates the whole requirements. There are no filters for sales orders, minimum stock quantity, purchase and production orders.
Does it mean that SBO is a solution only for very small companies who has only 1 warehouse?
But marketing docs from SAP say: this is for small and midsize; even companies with few branches can use SBO...
I don't understand SBO positioning in this case.
Could anybody from SBO development team provide information about:
    1) is SAP planning to make MRP working properly with several warehouses?  This is strong business demand for lots of SBO customers;
    2) why do you positioning SBO for wholesales if it does not support more than 1 warehouses? You offer MRP for booth only?
    Thanks,
    Alexey

  • Flash Version Selection

I'm currently setting out to create numerous Captivate4 courses to upload to an LMS and want to ensure I'm selecting the optimum parameters for today's typical web learners. I am specifically curious as to what issues need to be addressed when determining which version of Flash to select when publishing as a swf file. Appreciate any thougts on this...
    Thanks,
    Dave

When you load your modules to the Web, could you on that webpage issue a warning that a particular version of Flash was used and if the user doesn't have or doesn't know if they have that version or better, they need to upgrade. Personally, this is how I upgrade my Flash all the time. I run into something that uses the next version and it forces me to upgrade. I think enough people on the web are savy enough to know this is how Flash works. If however they don't have permissions on their machine to upgrade Flash, you are back to the beginning. I currently have Player 7 and this is what the 250 machines in our organization use. Our IT department is not so fast at upgrading the machines that can't upgrade themselves. If you much choose, I'd say 6 or 7 is safe.
