Hi, how do i find my product activation key on a laptop? I can't use the sticker on the bottom as the codes been rubbed off through wear and tear. Have had the laptop about 3/4 years and it needs a complete re in stall but need to get my product activation
key first. -Most laptops have a built in recovery partition that lets the users to restore the PC to factory default state. This can be done by pressing a shortcut key during boot (while displaying the manufacturer logo) or start the recovery process from with in Windows.
The recovery software even lets the user to create a recovery media (DVD/USB) and that media can be used to restore the PC.
Additionally, you can contact the laptop manufacturer and request for an installation media. They may charge if the laptop is out of warranty.
But note that clean installation requires drivers to be installed manually after installation of Windows. Recovery doesn't require user intervention anywhere.

Acrobat 9.5.0 update needs product activation
I recently updated Acrobat Pro 9 to 9.5.0 and now every time I try to use the app I get a dialog box that says:
Suite Product Activation Needed
Adobe Acrobat was installed as part of a Suite. To enable Adobe Acrobat, please start another sompnent of this suite (such as Adobe Acrobat).
Starting PS does not solve the problem. I am able to use all other programs except Acrobat Pro.
I own CS4 Design Premium (Student Edition) and I have a serial number. Is there someplace I can go to reestablish the serial number for CS4 so that Acrobat will work?can you check out the following threads for a solution?

How cna I deactivate multiple CS products and get new activation keys for them?
I need to know how to deactivate all active installs of a given CS product and serial #, then get new activation keys for the same product. I realize this is a question only an Adobe rep can answer, but online chat is closed and the phone support line is completely useless, so I have to ask here.
-- Jon W.you'll need to contact adobe support to reset your activation count for each product if you are unable to do that yourself, http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/service1.html
you will not get or need a new activation key. your original one will still work for cs3 and later. -
Hello,
I'm a teacher at the Hague University in the Netherlands and I also bought the Adobe CS6 Master Collection, Adobe Premiere, Adobe Captivate 6 and it worked nice when I installed it in December 2012. But this morning all my Adobe software doesn't function anymore, I get the message that it is a trial version and it will only work for 30 days. This whole morning I am busy to get the software back to work, but also when I reinstall it and type the proper activation keys which also can be found in my Adobe-account, it says that the serials are invalid. Could I please get some support to solve this problem?
Thank you in advance,
B. KranenburgDear Mr. Kranenburg,
As a teacher at a high school I experience the same problem. The problem is caused by a new licencing policy Adobe forced into place with CS6 products. The licenses you have are only valid for one year. Moreover they are actually valid for less than one year, since projects in Captivate created in the trial version mode you describe will have an expiration date. This will, in the very near future, result in non functioning projects/packages. The only way to overcome this problem is to renew your license, and republish the projects in the newly licensed product.
I can understand that Adobe wants to get more revenue out of their products. I however do not understand that a license, said to be valid for one year, will not provide a workable solution throughout this full year. A very strange policy indeed!

Thanks for responding hatter-- The problem, though, is I can't even install W7 once.

Product/License key not activated
How to activate product/License key?
Could you kindly check below screen capture and find out a way how to proceed on.
I would also suggest you consider removing/obscuring the screen capture which shows your *private* product key.
(this is a publicly accessible web forum, and the key is your paid-for-license entitlement...)

Upgrade Windows 8.1 computer without key when Win 10 will not activate
I understand that activation of Windows 10 is not necessary but concerned about production build not activating. My Win 10 Enterprise install shows not activated and will not activate even after keying new activation key found on these pages.
My concern is the target computer is a Dell 660s that I bought for cheap off the shelf at Best Buy. Purchased with Win 8 installed and shortly after upgraded to 8.1 with no activation problem. The computer does not have a label on it with the original
Win 8 key on it. I assume it is a legitimate copy of Windows given where it was bought and showed no activation problem with 8.0 or 8.1. I bought the computer just as a Windows 8 learning tool, so was anxious to use the Win 10 Technical Preview
on it. I have had many problems with the computer not rebooting after updates to the Preview have been installed. Just blank screen with no Post. Sometimes boots after many retries - usually with a message that the previous boot did not make
it past a certain checkpoint. It does seem to boot with 1 or 2 tries if I open the computer and use the jumper to clear CMOS. Tried that mostly due to the no Post messages. Maybe coincidence that it takes less tries to boot after the CMOS
clear. Don't know if the problem is due to Windows 10 or a glitch developed in the Dell computer itself. Suspect the later because I tested by replacing the hard disk with an empty formatted one and tried booting Win 10 and Win 8 boot images from
the DVD drive with no success.
But to repeat after rambling on, my main concern is whether Win 10 will activate when the production version is released and not having the label on my computer to enter the previous Win 8 key and past the Dell support time period.
Note: I tried to thank both responders at this point; but the 2nd person response gave 'unexpected error' when I tried to submit. Problem has been solved. 5/1/15Ordinarily there should not need to be a key needed.
I am running the pro version on an old netbook and enterprise in a virtual machine
neither asked for a serial to install and updates have been smooth lately, but I have had to make clean installs of both since the original preview was released
glad I could be of help, feel free to come back to the forum in case you need more help

Windows 7 activation key is working on 32-bit and 64-bit?
Hello, I purchased a Ideapad U350 which came with a preinstalled copy of Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit. Because I upgraded the RAM memory to 4GB but my 32-bit OS architecture use only 2,84GB, so I want to install a fresh copy of Windows 7 Home Premium but 64-bit version. The question is (to avoid buying a whole new Win 7 license) will the product key that came with my copy of Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit also work on a copy of Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit? Thanks.
Solved!
Go to Solution. You're right! I did not use a OEM version of Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit instead and this may be the reason why my OEM key for Win 7 Home Premium 32-bit was not accepted. Anyway, I reinstalled the 32-bit version which came on the hidden partition because few days ago I installed Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit instead of Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit and RAM usable memory is the same: 2,84GB!!! I did a clean install formatting C: but I did not format and delete the hidden OEM partition which came with Windows 7 Home Premium 32-bit. After installation usable RAM was 3,84GB. I installed critical & recommended windows updates + the software I'm using the most, restarted my PC and surprise: usable RAM was 2,84GB!!! So it's no use to install 64-bit version...my usable RAM is still 2,84. That's why I switched back to 32-bit version.
