Product ads go to old email addr instead of changed email addr!

I've changed the email address in my appleid "personal profile". It's been "up to 10 days" as described.
The target had been a gmail address. I changed the target email address to an email address owned by my paid-for domain.
Still, ads for new and changed Apple products, and ads for special deals, etc., are being targeted to the old (gmail) address. How may I further ensure that emails are targeted correctly?

Go to My Settings and uncheck your email address, re-enter it and make sure that you select SAVE at the end of the page.

  • I accidentally had an electronic product sent to an old email...

My problem may have a very simple solution and I might just be dumb and blind, but how do I retrieve an electronic download that was sent to the wrong email? (note: It is an old email that I cannot for the life of me remember the password for.)
I have the serial key and tried searching all over the Apple site, especially download section so I could get the application, but could not find anything. Is there a way that I can get the product resent to the correct email? The product I bought was Quicktime Pro 7, so is there a way to update my quicktime with my serial key?
    I appreciate any help! Thanks!

    Hi there stewartcr3,
You can find the Quicktime download page below.

  • I am having serious issues trying to alter my old iCloud account with an old non-functioning email to my new apple id with a new email address. The message keeps coming up on all my apple products with my old email (which is not available anymore).

I am having serious issues trying to alter my old iCloud account with an old non-functioning email to my new apple id with a new email address. The message keeps coming up on all my apple products with my old email (which is not available anymore).

I have the same problem - it is maddening. I rely on this iPad for work so this is not just an annoyance! The above solutions of changing the appleid on the device or on the website do not work.
The old email address no longer exists - I haven't used it in a year probably and I no longer have the account.  I logged into the appleid website and there is no trace of the old email address so there is nothing that can be deleted or changed there.  On the iPad there is no trace of the old email address so nothing can be deleted there either. I have updated the iPad software and the same problem comes right back.  Every 2 seconds I am asked to log in using the old non-existent email.  The device is currently useless.
The only recent change to anything was the addition of an Apple TV device, which was set up using the correct login and password.
Does anyone have any ideas? The iPad has been backed up to the iCloud so presumably it now won't recognize the current iCloud account? So restoring may notbe an option?

  • Is there a way to delete old emails in icloud all at once instead of 6 at a time?

Is there a way to delete all the old emails in icloud with one click of a button instead of 6 at a time?

If it's an iCloud email account, go to icloud.com from your computer.  Then you can select email by clicking the first, then shift-clicking that last and pressing your delete key.  Don't try to delete more than about 500 at a time or it will probably hang.
If it's a different email provider, go to their webmail site and do the same thing.

  • HT5361 I want to permanently remove years old emails from my IMac Mountain Lion system.  How can I do this by year instead of laboriously doing it one message at a time?

I want to permanently remove years old emails from my IMac Mountain Lion system.  How can I do so by year rather than slowly removing one message at a time?  Many thanks.

Another option is to create a smart mailbox that includes emails with date received before a desired date.
Then, select one message in the Smart Mailbox and cmd-A to select all. Then delete.

  • I have a question, I've always used my moms old email for my Apple ID because I got my first apple product when I was a little kid and I didn't have an email so if I change it will people have to make new contacts of me on their devices?

I have a question I've always used my moms old email for my Apple ID but when I text on iMessage it says my moms email is the one who sent the message and it's embarrassing so if I change my Apple ID email will my friends have to make new contacts of me on their devices? please answer this as soon as possible I beg you.

If you get your own Apple ID, then you will need a new email address unless you have an email address that is different from your mom's. In that case you use your own email address as your Apple ID.
You will have to reconfigure everything to associate them with your new Apple ID. This also means any apps or music you  purchased using your mom's Apple ID will have to be repurchased using your Apple ID.

  • IPhone 4 spontaneously sends old emails to others (HUGE privacy concern)

Still trying to get my head around how this happened:
    1. I took a photo of something using the Camera app.
    2. I went to send it to a friend by hitting Email Photo.
    3. I put in their address, filled out the Subject line, hit Send, picked my resolution, the usual.
Then I go to my Send folder to make sure it sent okay, and I see something very strange: instead of the photo I was trying to send, the body of the email is actually *an exact email I sent to someone else over four years ago.*
I was puzzled. Why was such an old email appearing on my iPhone out of NOWHERE? And why did Mail send THAT as the body instead of the picture I was trying to send? At no point did I ask it to go into my email and attach anything else but the photo in question.
As it turns out, the email itself was the VERY FIRST email I sent using my .Mac account, as it was then known. But I've only had my iPhone for six months! It simply makes no sense for that email to be even IN my phone, as I haven't set it to store messages that far back (because it would be absolutely pointless to do so). Just to be sure, I went to the very end of my iPhone's Sent folder -- and it stops at a month ago, just as I set it to. So I ask again: how did it fetch this text? And more importantly: why?
Somehow, my iPhone grabbed the body of this ancient email (presumably from the MobileMe server), pasted it into the new message I was trying to send, and did all of this covertly while I thought I was just sending a simple pic?? Remember I saw NO evidence of this in the Send window -- or else I wouldn't have sent it! "Wait, that's not my picture...that's an old email from 2006! What the **** is THAT doing there??"
Please someone explain what's going on here? If this is a bug, I would say it's massive. A mail client that randomly sends old emails to people who were never meant to see them??
And it gets weirder: when I check Mail on my laptop AND through the MobileMe web portal, neither show the message in my Sent folder. But on my iPhone, it's right there. So did it actually send or not?
I'm currently waiting to hear back from my friend to see if this was the case, so who knows. But I'm freaked out enough just seeing it there!
Thankfully none of the email was especially private or scandalous, but what if it had been? Apple cannot afford to have their products going haywire and accidentally sending messages to the wrong people. This is enough to make me not want to use Mail through my iPhone ever again. I don't want to be wondering what else it's digging up every time I go to hit the Send button, ready to ship off to some other acquaintance. Brutal!
I would love to know if anyone else has had this experience, and I'd especially like to hear from Apple staff on this potentially serious security bug.
I'll update once I find out if it actually sent or not.
    So bizarre!

    Update:
My friend claims he never got such an email, so perhaps it's just a glitch? It's still there in my Sent folder, however, although just on the iPhone and nowhere else.
Still curious to hear from Mac officials on this!

  • I cannot access my old email address anymore, however I have used it for my apple ID and now I want to delete it because the account has never been verified in the first place so my password for it doesn't work. What do I do?

I cannot access my old email address anymore, however I have used it for my apple ID and now I want to delete it because the account has never been verified in the first place so my password for it doesn't work. So when I want to download apps I have to sign in with apple id but I can't so I made a new one, However I can't seem to be able to delete the old one. What do I do?

You can't merge Apple IDs.  You also can't cancel (delete) and existing ID, you can only choose to stop using it.
If your old ID was compromised and you can no longer access it, you'll have to contact Apple for assistance.  Go to https://expresslane.apple.com ; click 'See all products and services' at the bottom of the page. In the next page click 'More Products and Services, then 'Apple ID'. In the next page select 'Other Apple ID Topics' then then 'Apple ID account Security’.

  • HT204053 My wife currently has two different apple accounts as we changed our email address plus got a new computer. I believe that all of her info is under her old email address plus on the old computer. how can we merge the two accounts

My wife currently has two different Itunes account as one is on the old computer with our old email address, Instead of changing the email address on the old account we created a new itunes account with her new gmail address. I just updated the new update for her iphone however I cannot get her contacts etc moved to the new phone as I believe they are all on her old account. It says I need as well to authorize this computer for the itunes store as well but in her account it says one computer authorized (old one) but cannot figure our how to get the new computer authorized as well.

You should be able to authorise the account via the Store drop-down menu at the top of iTunes (if you are using iTunes 11 on a PC then control-B should get the menus to show)

  • After the latest update, all my apple products reverted to an old icloud account.  As it no longer exists, I cannot get into it to delete it and add the correct id.  How can I change this, especially on my Macbook pro?

After the latest update, all my apple products reverted to an old icloud account.  As it no longer exists, I cannot get into it to delete it and add the correct id.  How can I change this, especially on my Macbook pro?  There is no p/w related to it and even though I tried to reset "password" it won't allow as the id does not exist, neither does the email associated with the old id.  How do I switch it to a newer id?

It's all rather odd because the old account cannot 'no longer exist' - if you don't have the correct password you won't be able to get into it, but you can't actually delete an iCloud account from the server.
I'm afraid you will need the services of iCloud Support. If you currently happen to have AppleCare, either because you recently bought Apple hardware or have paid to extend the inititial period, you can contact them here:
    http://www.apple.com/support/icloud/contact/
You will need the serial number of the covered hardware.
If you are not covered by AppleCare, then - in common with other free email services - there is no free support and you may be asked to pay a fee.

  • I have just inherited my husbands iPhone 4s but when i try to use updates it is showing me a old email address we had for iTunes store i do not remember the password and when i try to change password it goes to my new address with iTunes store

I have just taken over my husbands iphone 4s but when trying to download updates on Twitter, Facebook, etc. it says to sign into itunes store with a old email address that I no longer remember the password to.  I have changed my email with the itunes store and have a new password but how do i get rid of the old email address. Many Thanks

When you say 'changed my email with the itunes store and have a new password' do you mean that you've changed the email address on that old account, or are you referring to a different account ?
If you've updated the old account then try logging out of the account on the phone by tapping on the id at the bottom of the Featured tab in the App Store app and then log back in with the updated version.
If they are different accounts then all apps (and other content from the store) are tied to the account that downloaded them, so only that account will be able to download updates to them. For apps like Twitter and Facebook you could delete them from the phone and redownload them via your account so that they are linked to that instead.
If there are apps that have content in them, and you can't copy that content off (so that you can delete the app, buy/download it on your account, and copy the content back), then you will need the password to the old account to be able to update them. You should be able to get it reset via http://iforgot.apple.com

  • I have a macbook pro. Since buying it I have changed my email address and the old one is now defunct. Some software i can update fine but other software appears to be attached to the old email address which is greyed so I can't change to my new apple ID

Hi, I ahve a macbook Pro. Sometimes it tells me there are software updates but some of them i can't download because it wants me to enter an apple ID and its only giving me the choice to use my old ID with an old email address that no longer exists. I think its with itunes it does that.

If you have 'Find My iPad' activated on the iPad it will cause this problem. You will have to contact Support for help. Go to https://expresslane.apple.com ; select 'More Products and Services', then 'Apple ID'. In the next page select 'Other Apple ID Topics' then 'Lost or forgotten Apple ID password' and click 'Continue'.
