Product and editions of Database 10g Standard Version

Dear friends.,
i have a doubt about features of Standard Edition of 10g in Oracle Database.
In this link: http://www.oracle.com/database/product_editions.html list features about versions, but this version is in 11i.
Do you know if the column "Standard Edtion" is applied too to Standard Edtion in Oracle Database 10g ???
Please, help me.
Thanks a lot and apologize my english, is not very well.
Cesar.

For 10g, Oracle provides the following Editions - in ascending order of features included in the base license:
Express Edition
Standard Edition One
Standard Edition
Enterprise Edition
Personal Edition (oriented toward Developers)
The 11g overview is pretty well the same as the 10g one. The 10g licensing and features list is in the Licensing document at http://www.oracle.com/pls/db102/homepage

Oracle Database 10g Standard Edition Suitable for medium sized organization. Actually it supports how many no of concurrent connection, workload??

Yes, it is suitable for, and is used in many medium sized organizations. It supports as many concurrent connections as possible until the operating system starts paging or swapping. At which time it slows down. I personally have seen it handle 125 concurrent connections.
You question is like asking 'will a Pentium 4 CPU handle Microsoft Powerpoint?'. And the answer is 'yes, of course'. But what about when you want to run video clips in Powerpoint?
There is no accurate way of answering your question without understanding the exact workload you plan on generating.

  • Editing and Compling a Database Package from a file

    Hi,
I'd like to know if there is a way to open and edit a database specification and body source code file from the filesystem, and also be able to compile this is SQL Developer.
Currently I am able to open the .pks and .pkb files and I get 'Compile' and 'Compile for Debug' icons. However, when I hit these buttons they appear to do nothing. No messages are displayed to say if the package is compiled successfully or unsuccessfully. What I have noticed though is that the code is executed and the package is created on the database but there is no feedback. If I 'complile' a package that I know is invalid, the package becomes invalid in the database and vice versa. But I have no way of knowing this until I check the package on the database.
If I am doing something wrong or there is another way to do this, then please let me know. I really want to be able to work on these files from the filesystem rather than the database.
SQL Developer 1.5.1 on Windows 2000.
    Cheers,
    Jon.

    Jon,
The current SQL Dev support for file based development in this area isn't wonderful. However, the output of "compiling" a PL/SQL file with the compile button (ie running as script) is shown in the Script Output tab of the Log dockable window. If you have the window docked and the Script Output tab selected, then it will normally display the following where the package body is invalid:
    Warning: execution completed with warning
    PACKAGE BODY MY_PACKAGE_PKG Compiled.
To show the errors there, you will need to use something like after the CREATE OR REPLACE PACKAGE BODY statement:
    SHOW ERRORS PACKAGE BODY MY_PACKAGE_PKG
The output doesn't always appear and the treatment of compilation errors is nowhere near as good as when compiling directly in the database where you can jump to the error location with a double click.

  • Registration key required for database 10g software

receive a password and message "Thank you for registering", but never get the key necessary to install software on disk that came with textbook--very frustrating

You can download and install Oracle Database 10g free (for personal/development use) from OTN, with no registration key required:

    (I recommend Express Edition)

  • Oracle Licensing Question on Processors  - Oracle 10g Standard Edtion One

We are a small finance company and wanted to buy Oracle database 10g Standard Edition One licenses.
We wanted to get a 15 users licenses(perpetual licenses)
Now when it comes to the server hardware where we will be installing the Oracle database, do we need
to make sure we have only 1 (or) 2 processors ?
Is there document which will tell me as what kind of processors or any limitations on the processors speed
I need to have on the Oracle database server ?

    Hi,
did you have a look at:
    https://shop.oracle.com/pls/ostore/wwv_flow_item_help.show_help?p_item_id=4777527003091012
? As far as I can see licensing 15 users on a 1-2 socket server should not be an issue. If you would have a bit more users you could consider a socket license (5800.- US$ / socket).
With Standard Edition One or with named users licensing you do not have to worry about the technical figures of your CPU. This is only needed when you license Enterprise Edition (EE) based on processor metric because then cores and processor type are used to calculate the amount of processor licenses.
    Hope this helps.

  • Downgrade «Photoshop CS6 Extended» to just «Photoshop CS6», it's standard version?

    Hey,
recently I've replaced my MacBook Pro 17" (Mid 2010) with new Retina (15" / Early 2013) and after I've installed Adobe Photoshop it appears to be Extended version instead of Standart. And I want my standart version back. I didn't use 3D features and I'm okay with standard version. I'm running OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.3) if it useful information.
So the question is: How do I downgrade my Photoshop CS6 «Extended» to «Standard» version?
    What I've tried:
    1. Reinstall application. No changes, still Extended version.
    2. Install on differenct computer same install package. I've tried to run this on my Mac Pro — unsuccessful.
    3. Reinstall application on «clean» OS X version on my previous MacBook Pro (17") — everything is okay. Standard version running as it does before.
Please help me solve this little issue, because Google left me without answers.
    Thanks,
    Jake.

    Simple.
It's just one and the same application, just one binary.  What determines whether you get the Extended features or not is your serial number.
If you're on a subscription basis, it will always be the Extended version.
If you're using the trial version, it will be Extended.  When you input a Standard serial number after you purchase it, it will become Standard.
If you've already put in your serial number and registered the applicaton and still see the Extended features, it means you paid for the Extended version.

  • Tables in Agile PLM 8.5 and 9.3 database

Does anyone happen to know the tables in Agile 8.5 and 9.3 database? thanks

Agile version 8.5 we have is on Oracle database 9i and we are planning to upgrade the front end Agile to 9.3 and backend Oracle database to 11g.
During this upgrade I am looking to connect to the backend Agile Oracle database and query the data, and also create a report to compare the data in Agile ORacle database and our 11.5.10 EBS database too because we create ECOs in Agile and transfer to Oracle EBS 11.5.10 applications.
Any suggestions for section where I can repost this? Thanks.
