Hello.
A while ago I purchased Adobe Creative Suite Production Premium (Educational). It came as a DVD.
May I install it on more than 1 computer?
Thanks, D.Hi Danil,
Yes, you can install it on 2 machines.
Follow the steps mentioned in the link http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/install-creative-suite-5-cs5.html
Let me know if it helps.

Best Practices: iPad/MacBookPro synching for video production in education
My organization just bought 14 Macbook Pros and 14 iPads Minis. Our goal is to have students in single-day classes use the iPads to film something, then synch/export the video to a MacBook Pro where they can then edit that video in iMovies. Once that single-day class is over, all of the video will (likely) be deleted and new students come in a couple days later and start fresh. I'm trying to figure out the best practices for this to make it as painless as possible for all involved.
So, matching AppleIDs for each pair? One AppleID for all devices and manual synch through iTunes? Dropbox/cloud synching instead of iTunes?
All of these devices are brand new. I have already started prepping the MacBook Pros, but have not even turned on the iPads since I'm not sure which AppleID I should attach to the iPads -- I assume the first AppleID on an iPad will accept the iLife apps much the same way they do on the MacBook Pros.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
Jackwell the most important fact to accept is that ALL DRIVES WILL FAIL. It's just a matter of when. I can tell you about a nightmare situation with g-drives (before Hitachi bought them). What format are you shooting? If you shoot on tape, you can always recapture as long as you captured with abort clips on dropped frames on make new clip on timecode break are enabled. But that's gonna take "real time." If you shot on a chip based format, backing up the chips in multiple places (and I mean multiple) can provide a sense of security. But if you need to be able to get back to work immediately if you have a drive fail, having a back up of your media or if you've stored it on a redundant raid is crucial. I also seriously recommended having a clone of your startup drive so if your startup (boot) drive fails, you can get back to work quickly.

Activating U.S purchased CS6 Education version product in an other country
Hi,
I'm thinking about purchasing Adobe CS6 Production Premium Education version from a US based reseller because I have a git card from there. However I'm a faculty member at a university in Turkey and I will be using the product in Turkey.
If I buy this product, will I be able to activate and use it without any problems?
Thanks.Thanks for the replies.
Since I'm getting different answers I contacted Adobe about this. Here's the conversation:
Leyla: lets say I'm buying the cs6 production premium education version from an adobe reseller in the US
Prasad: Okay.
Leyla: Can a faculty member from another country use it?
Leyla: in another country
Prasad: Yes, you will be able to use it in Turkey, however you will get the support form US Customer care.You will be unable to contact Adobe Turkey Customer care.
Leyla: ok that s fine
Leyla: so when i receive the education version of the production premium
Leyla: i, as a faculty member in turkey, will be able to activate the product in turkey
Leyla: and will be able to use it
Leyla: that's all i needed to know
Leyla: thank you very much
Prasad: Yes, you will be able to install and activate the product in your system that is present in Turkey.
Leyla: great thanks!
So according to this I will be able to use it with no problem. -
Oracle Collaboration Suite Slow Performance
Hi,
I have encountered with problem with OCS 10.1.2 with following information:
Hardware : DL-380G5
Operating System : OEL 4 update 5 64 bit
Oracle Product : Collaboration Suite 10.1.2
The installation has been done in three server as follow:
Server 1: Application Tier (OCS component such as mail, calendar , discussion , ...)
Server 2: Infrastructure (Oracle Single Sign on)
Server 3 : Infrastructure (Oracle Internet Directory)
Patch Information : Cumulative Patch 10.1.2.4 (Note: 406284.1) + Mandatory Patch after 10.1.2.4 ( Note:
423515.1) + Patch 10.1.0.5 on Infrastructure layer
have been applied on Application tier and Infrastructure.
Problem_ Everything goes well after reboot of all 3 servers and refresh but after 2 hours nobody can
connect to OCS services due to slow performance
Only restarting the servers cause the users can connect to OCS services again.
Any Idea will be appreciated.
Edited by: Oralinux on Oct 29, 2009 5:08 PMDid you ever find out why this was happening? We seemed to have developed a similar issue and we have had a Severity 1 level SR for 4 days now and no one seems to able to work it out.

Commercial Version for Educational purpose
I have commercial licenses for Adobe products (Flash Professional,Illustrator, Photoshop).
Can i use these products for educational purpose (like teaching people flash,potoshop,illustrator)
I am using these products in india.Some educational site are behind the times. At times, they require software that isn't available on the ipad. You should visit an apple store and try the educational site with the ipad. Considering that you have an iMac, I'd lean in the direction of the iPad.

QT 7.1.6 freezing and other problems
Hello everybody,
I continue to see postings relating to QT freezing while audio still plays and various work arounds people have come up with.
Please remember to call Apple and report the problem. The more people that call and get a case number (yes, that is important) the more Apple will become aware of how widespread the problem is.
While Apple hosts these discussion forums it does not necessarily mean they are aware of the problems we are having and discussing.
I wrote down all the troubleshooting I did so I did not forget anything when I called Apple and reported my problem with iMovie after updating my system and QT. I was immediately given a case number and have been in contact with product specialists. Initally they thought it was the Security Patch but I quickly zeroed in on QT 7.1.6 as my problem. I finally did an Archive and Install and updated all software except Security Patch 2007-004 v1.1 and QuickTime 7.1.6. I downloaded and installed QuickTime 7.1.5. My system is functioning very well now.
Sue
iMac G5 20 inch Mac OS X (10.4.9)It might not be widespread and I never said it represented a majority of people but there is enough chatter to indicate a problem more widespread than just me.
I just wanted to alert people that the best way to inform Apple of a problem is to call them and get a case number. When I worked for education my SE always reminded me to call Apple and not just report a problem to him.
Just because you had no problem doesn't mean that everyone else who has a problem did not install correctly. I worked with Apple to zero into the QT 7.1.6 upgrade. I would never have seen the problem except I decided to do an iMovie project and that showed up the video freeze.

It’s a common occurrence. You’re in the audience at a rock concert, jazz club or orchestral recital and the sound system doesn’t work. An anxious singer or musician taps her microphone…to no avail. Invariably, an alert technician leaps forward, jogs across the stage, fiddles with the A/V system and…Voila! The sound comes on with a high-pitched whir.
Like concert audio technicians, HP Support Forum Experts are backstage heroes. They ensure everything stays up and running for our highly valued participants, who make tens of millions of web and mobile visits to the HP forums each month.
This month, we’re recognizing a few of our top performers with a sound “check” of our own. We’d also like to bring to your attention our quarterly Expert Days, commencing August 27–28.
Top Contributor
Our lead problem-solver in July was DavidPK, who joined the HP Support Forum in September 2010. Since then, he has amassed an impressive tally. He has read more than 51,000 messages and posted nearly 31,000 replies. He has authored upwards of 4,560 total Solutions and received almost 9,000 Kudos for helping community participants resolve their computing problems.

Thank you for your response.
In fact, I'm on a distributed architecture
Server 1: OHS as Web Server, Foundation (Shared Services, Workspaces )
Server 2: Essbase Administration Services "EAS" Essbase Provider Services, Financial Reporting CALC Manager --> (Database and deploy to application server)
When I configure EAS, APS etc... on server 2 (Database and deploy to application server), Weblogic is started on the server1 (by startWebLogic), but I have a "Failed" in the "deploy to server application", does not pass. But the database is "OK".
However, I try to install on the server CALC MANAGER 1, it worked.
So I ask myself, is that web applications can be on another server that Foundation?
Thank you for your return -
I have Adobe CS 6, Production Premium Education Edition.
I recently needed to set up my computer and obviously had to reinstall alls my adobe programs.
But this time around, indesign was not an option anymore. What happened?if your computer meets the id specs, copy the installation files from your cd to a desktop directory and reinstall from that directory.

suryaUnfortunately can't be done with JFileChooser, you would have to write your own version.

Email customer relationship history
Hi Folks,
We've got email configured for Cisco Agent Desktop and UCCX but have questions from business units that we are struggling to come up with answers for. Staff want to know if they use CAD for email in email CSQs, how they can refer to previous contact history with the customer. It's one thing to have queries come in via email and to resopnd to those question - answer style, but how are people managing circumstances where the customer responds to a reply and the response gets queued to another agent? How can our agents review the email conversation a customer may have had with another agent?
Or is it that email via UCCX is only suited for single question single answer scenarios?Finesse has been in use with UCCE for a few years now so you can see it if you ask Google nicely. This is why there are ecosystem partners who already have solutions in place before CCX 10.0 even came out: we're reusing existing code. This is the same strategy with CUIC starting in 9.0.
Here's a demo video: http://videolounge.cisco.com/video/Products/Collaboration/Cisco-Finesse-Software-Demonstration/Products/Collaboration/2516140689001/

OpenSocial is a container-based browser framework with snapin widgets, some pre-built by Cisco, some custom-built by customers/partners. If you don't like what Cisco provides you can replace the widget with your own. All of the Cisco built widgets use standard HTTP REST calls so you can replicate their functionality in whatever you build.

Tuning of SGA on Oracle 8.0.5 and AIX 4.3.3
Hi folks,
I have an AIX box running AIX 4.3.3 and Oracle 8.0.5.2.0. The original SGA settings are as follows:
shared_pool_size = 150000000
sort_area_size = 1024876
db_block_buffer = 126102
The SGA size then is:
Total System Global Area 1838467232 bytes
Fixed Size 47264 bytes
Variable Size 803287040 bytes
Database Buffers 1033027584 bytes
Redo Buffers 2105344 bytes
I changed the SGA settings to the following:
shared_pool_size = 768000000
sort_area_size = 512000000
The SGA size is now:
Total System Global Area 2227943584 bytes
Fixed Size 47264 bytes
Variable Size 214097920 bytes
Database Buffers 2013265920 bytes
Redo Buffers 532480 bytes
After this change was done, the system ran but the users had some problems running reports in JDEOneWorld.
I then downsize the SGA settings and altered the db_block_buffer to improve buffer cache hits with these settings:
db_block_buffers = 245760
shared_pool_size = 200000000
sort_area_size = 1048576
On restarting the database with the new values, I noted that the SGA size remained unchanged as below:
Total System Global Area 2278475936 bytes
Fixed Size 47264 bytes
Variable Size 264105984 bytes
Database Buffers 2013265920 bytes
Redo Buffers 1056768 bytes
I tried to increase the size of db_block_buffers to 327680 but encountered ORA-27123 when trying to startup the database. I did some searches in metalink and found an article saying that the SGA size cannot exceed 2GB on AIX platforms. (Doc ID: 114934.1). Therefore I resize the db_block_buffers back to 245760.
What puzzles me is why the SGA size does not reflect my latest init.ora settings? Does anyone have any idea on how I can get the SGA to reflect the updated values in the init.ora file?I did a find and here are the files I got:

The instance name is KLB so the applicable files are:

49162 8 -rw-r--r-- 1 oracle dba 4657 Dec 23 1999 /u01/app/oracle/admin/klb/pfile/archive/initklb_0.ora
Now, exclude the files in the product, backup and archive directories (the pfile should be in the pfile directory), and that leaves us with:
49161 8 -rw-r--r-- 1 oracle dba 4118 Oct 11 11:22 /u01/app/oracle/admin/klb/pfile/initklb.ora
(Which is the file that I edited)
As I mentioned previously, my client is not prepared to perform an upgrade on both Oracle and AIX. As much as I would like to have them upgrade to the latest versions, it is just not possible.
Oracle 8.0.5 does not have spfiles, so there is no way for me to edit a spfile unless this is one of those undocumented tricks floating around. -

4035398213 470677977 ReviewCD.zip.BADHi,
there is a reproducible bug in several oracle installation files. Sometimes the setup.exe on root doesn't work, so you must take the setup.exe from the install directory. Sometimes this isn't working and only the setup.exe on root.
Very silly, but not a problem if you know what do do.

Rather than having th "get info" and enable file sharing of every sub folder how can you enable file sharing in any depth ( number) of sub folders in one easy way? Any help appreciated.
Best regards, BAGBOY1You will not find a serial number with the CD if the product is Educational version or Volume License ( Enterprise) version. For Educational version, you need to submit the Proof of Eligibility for the serial number. Contact Customer support for detail. For Volume License serial number, you need to login to the Adobe Licensing Website (LWS) then login using your email address that is used to place the order. If you do not have a password, you can create a new one from the login screen. Login to LWS and you can find the serial number there.
