Product description and Customer ship description to should be visible in R

Currently we are able to see the Customer ship to number and Product number in SNC Responsive Replenishment (RR) screen. We want to have Customer Ship description and Product description in addition to Customer ship to number and Product number to be displayed on Responsive replenishment screen.
Current display of RR screen in SNC:
In this we can see the 7529000 and 23100.
The Product description and Customer ship description to should be visible in RR screen.
Product 7329000: Brass coil
Customer ship to 23100: Evershine company

we have faced similar problem in case of SNI monitors where SNC does not provide the product or location description and our users used to remember those things by their description. Std. SNC does not provides descriptions on SNI monitor and I think its the same case with RR monitors also.
SAP suggest us that time is that they will try to include this thing in next releases. Other option remains for use is to go for the customization.

The only way i know is to select superior WBSE - setllement rule - select actual settlement- profit segment- open the screen and identify the product type and customer -
All these are sitting in a structure CE00211. Not able to identify in which table i can get it.

Product impressions and UK shipping experience

Shipping speed:
Ordered my 60GB white engraved 5G on 13/10 which was shipped on 21/10 and arrived to me in the UK on 25/10 so a 12-day experience from start to finish. This was better than I expected due to the delay that I thought the engraving would cause.
Product impressions:
I ordered the 5G despite that fact that I was sceptical on the practicality and usefulness of video on a small 2.5-inch screen. I went ahead with the order only because one of the family iPods needed an upgrade and frankly of the products that Jobs had presented together with the 5G all of which whetted my appetite, 5G was the only one I could purchase as I already have an G5 iMac and a separate iSight.
Given that I would be upgrading myself from the iPod Photo and not being too enthusiastic in general about portable video, it was going to be very hard for me to be impressed.
Yesterday when the product came and I turned it on I immediately observed that the screen felt considerably larger than iPod Photos, but also it is much brighter and the font used is more pleasing to the eye. Additionally whilst remaining heavy as before (perhaps even slightly heavier I thought not having seen the official stats), it is impressively thinner compared to the 60GB iPod Photo. Additionally after seeing the screen quality and the tasteful design of the new and old extras, my initial impression of it was very positive but I had to test the video quality to reach a definitive verdict.
Over the past weekend I had transferred some video content onto iTunes in anticipation of the arrival of the 5G. I used ffmpegX and Handbrake for this purpose. There were some glitches along the way but overall the conversions went reasonably smooth. By the way I can also confirm that the ripping instructions provided for Handbrake works like a charm.
After connecting the 5G to my G5 and acquainting it with its new master iPhoto, using the USB 2.0 connection I manually transferred files across to my new iPod. Pausing momentarily here to comment on the USB 2.0 vs. Firewire connection speed issue, I havent noticed any material difference in speed between the USB 2.0 transfers and the Firewire transfers that I had been using for iPod Photo. If there is a difference it is certainly not prohibitively marked. So for me at least the lack of Firewire connection is not going to be an issue.
After uploading the videos and checking them one by one, I must admit I was blown away by the quality of the screen, its brightness, the level of detail it can show, the realism of the colours and the feasibility of the overall portable viewing experience. Especially on material where you are familiar with the characters, in my humble opinion it is a perfectly acceptable way of watching stuff on the go or otherwise. I wouldnt go as far as saying I would prefer the iPod over my TV when Im at home but I could certainly see myself retiring to bed with the iPod from time to time even when Im at home. The sound quality obtained from the encoding process was excellent as well.
If you want to have an idea before you buy the 5G as to how the video looks like on the iPod, after you load your material up onto your iTunes, simply play with the screen size to make it the same size as the 2.5 inch 4:3 format screen on the iPod, get really close to your computer screen and see if you can live with this size and the amount of detail it is capable of showing. In my case with such high quality a display (on the 5G), I know I can even though I had serious doubts even at the time of my order.
The quality of the image on the iPod is in my opinion very nearly as good as its quality on the computer screen so a test as above would enable you to make a pretty accurate assessment I thought. My only previous portable gadget video experience with a PSP was not as reassuring despite the PSPs considerably larger screen (I must give full credit to PSP on photo and gaming display situations though). Lastly concerning the case (actually a pouch rather) that comes with the 5G, it is a nice to have but for most people including myself who love their gadgets something more sturdy, offering better protection is required. Also I thought the pouch was a little tighter than what it needs to be for the 60GB. It could have been designed to be a little looser without causing the gadget fall out. It is a very light grey in colour so it will pick up and show dirt very easily I think. So in my opinion its definitely worth getting extra protection.
Overall Im very pleased with my purchase. It is a worthy upgrade in my opinion even from a 60GB iPod Photo if you can put the retiring iPod Photo to good use. From any older generation iPod it would be a worthy upgrade under all circumstances except financial perhaps.
One suggestion I have for the next version is (in addition to larger memory capacity as a single 1.5hr movie takes up nearly 0.6GB) enlarging the screen even further by using a portrait shape rather than the current landscape mode making use of the idle real estate that remains on the front of the machine as a result of the now smaller yet highly effective nano-style wheel.
More tests to come including connection to a big screen TV. I will come back to tell you about them to extent I have anything of importance to say.

APO product allocation and customer hierarchy groups

we have customer hierarchy groups. In the future we want to use product allocation in APO.
The values of the customer hierarchy groups will be changed often.
How can we map the customer hierarchy group to a product allocation group?

Not sure it is the only way but you can try the following,
1. maintain the field catalogue and the product allocation group in APO
SPRO
Advanced Planning and Optimization
> Global Available-to-Promise (Global ATP)
> Product Allocation
2. Maintain the planning area accordingly
(+ the connection to the PA - still in SPRO...)
Now start the real thing:
3. pass the customer hierachy to the sales order in R/3
You can use exit: MV45AFZZ u2013 form USEREXIT_MOVE_FIELD_TO_VBAK
4. Pass the information to APO
A new exit: FV45VFZY form USEREXIT_CATALOG_VALU - Adding to the APO field Catalogue
Now you mentioned frequent hierarchy changes... that I don't know how to handle. When you change the hierarchy how do you want the consumption to happen? I guess the new sales order should consume the new hierarchy, but what about the old assignment?
If somebody know ho the system handle that, that would be great!

Display Different Product MSRP and Description based on the Country of the

When a User Opens a Product I want to show him the Product Prices and Description depending on his region.
For Eg: if the person is from Canada (based on his profile) and he select a product ABCD the MSRP visible is USD 1000 and the description is also different
Another persond belonging to US opens the same product he see it as USD 1250
Is there a way in which we could do this?
Any help is highly appreciated.

Hi,
As per my requirement, we need to create one file for each IDoc based on IDoc header data. SAP program generates 10 IDocs for each run. All 10 IDoc's message type is same. Each IDoc has one header record with the file name. Base on the name in the IDoc header record, file needs to be created with different columns and file name. Means..
IDoc 01- Header Description contains 'A' - than file will be generated should have name as 'A.txt' and columns 'parent' 'child' 'descripion'.
IDoc 02- Header Description contains 'B' - than file will be generated should have name as 'B.txt' and columns 'Name' 'Department' 'Description'.
IDoc 10- Header Description contains 'J' - than file will be generated should have name as 'J.txt' and columns 'Order No' 'Materail' 'Description'.

Text table for long text of product catalog area and product description

I'm a new comer in CRM, what my current job is to do the translation for CRM system and its portal, e.g. webshop. Now I met some questions as below, Could you please give me some advices?
1. Long text for product catalog area (t-code: COMM_PCAT_ADM; Product Catalog: PCSHOP)
I found a table named STXL(STXD SAPscript text file lines), maybe, it is related to the long text(product catalog area), but I can not get anything from the field CLUSTD of the table STXL as its data type is RAW. Maybe, there is a text table in CRM to store these long text information, but I dont know, Could you please give me some ideas?
2. Long text for product description (t-code: COMM_PCAT_ADM; Product Catalog: PCSHOP)
I found a table named COMM_CFGLNGTXT(Long Texts for Different Objects), I can find some long texts(product description) in this table, but some others, I can not find them. I dont know why? Maybe it is not a correct text table. Could you please give me some advices?

Implement the BADI DOC_PERSONALIZE_BCS and use method PERSONALIZE_DOCUMENT. In this method therz an parameter FLT_VAL, this can be used to derive the description.

In CRM, product is considered to be a master data and hence product description for the same product should be same
in opportunity as well as in quotation, or else it might create inconsistencies later on.
You have the option to maintain produce descriptions in difference languages but not for different txn types.

Product Description too short

The product description in the back end is too short! When you have multiple attributes for a product, it is impossible to view which the customer chose when you open up the order.
Where can I view each attribute(which are in the form of dropdowns on the frontend) that the client chose?

I think you should try to use expert mode for building Alternative id for your requirement.
Select the expert mode in the initial screen , then in the expert mode select the Do Not Generate check box.. Next build your own class by copying the CL_ALTID_PRODUCT_CUSTOMER_ID and in this class try to modify the methods to read the product descriptions for alternative id. You may look at the standard class for more details.
The idea is to create an ID that needs to reference particular table ( in your case , the product descriptions table )
I guess you have to explore more on this. It is not straight forward.

How to create a (product) description field of 250 car length?

Hi,
I need to create a specific field for the product description with a length of 250 car. (standard product desc field is only 40 car long), and this field will be added in the Product search screens.
So, i tried to create an attribute (tx COMM_ATTRSET) , but there is an error indicating that the max length is 75 for the PCUI, but the help states that this limit can be bypassed by replacing the error message by a warning one in table T100C.
But , i can't edit this table, though i have got SAP_ALL authorization.
First question : how to edt this table?
Secondly, if i manage to create an attribute with 250 car length, will it be displayed correctly by the Web UI ?
Would there be other ways to create this field (append z-Field in COMM_PRODUCT table? using EEW or AET?)

well, I have found at least how to replace the error message (length of max 75 car for PC UI) . Instead of trying to edit manually table T100C, there is an entry in customizing SPRO (cross appl/SAP Product/basic settings/Define Characteristics of System Messages
) which allows to customize standard messages , and so change from Error to Warning.

Product Description as alternative ID

Is it possible to make the product description as an alternative ID? and How?
I tried to make a new ID type with Database table COMM_PR_SHTEXT and field SHORT_TEXT but when I click generate type it says that Table COMM_PR_SHTEXT no longer exists or has no field with the name SHORT_TEXT

After executing the report
choose > 'Settings > Characteristic display' from the menu.
A dialog box appears where you can choose the option.
Change the setting to 'key and name' and the text should appear

Isssue concerning country specific product description & Solving issues

Hi Friends,
Should it be a possible solution to put the country specific product description into MDM - System specific data
For Example:- At this moment the description in corporate data are transfered to "English" language in all the systems/locations.
Is it possible Like, each system should define the possible languages for his country (for Belgium it should be Netherlands and French) and we deliver these descriptions into the system BE??

Adding modules to a product description

Hi guys
Just wondering why is it not possible to add a module (such as an image gallery or media downloads) to a product description area?

Hey studiomigo,
It is possible to use modules in the product description. It's true that no toolbox is available when viewing the product description, however just place the appropriate module tag into the layout and it should render when viewing the product on the front end. The module tags can be found in the following article: http://kb.worldsecuresystems.com/134/bc_1345.html. Or alternatively, navigate to a page, insert the module then copy the code inserted into the page onto the product description.

I remember to trying this also by myself, and as far as I remember I didn't manage to get it working. In my case I wasn't even working with third party solution, but with "normal" SAP workflow tasks. This doesn't mean that it wouldn't be possible.
As a workaround, you could add an additional button (=action) for your task. By pressing the button a new browser window would open. Just take a look to the UWL DTD and actions + UrlLauncher handler.
