Product graphic for used input

Hi,
I am looking for suggestions/direction on the following.
We test cards, any amount 1 to 8, which are placed into slots within a single test chassis.
We need to get information of each card in turn in the chassis.
What we would like to do is to display a graphic of the chassis showing the cards in the slots. The number shown is determined by the used entering a number as to how many cards are to be tested.
Also to flash/active each slot in turn to prompt the used to enter information, the likes of model and serial number, which will be saved for use during testing.
Also this graphic will display the overall result, for each slot, at the end of the test with if possible a link to the test report.
Anyone give some direction?
Thanks for the  help
Simon

Roberto,
Thanks for that, I will give it a try.
I do understand it is generic but I am taking it from scratch and so exploring the options.
Do you know of an example of using the canvas?
Thanks for the pointers.

  • Export graphic for use in Premiere Pro Cs4

Hey everyone, I have made some wiring diagrams in AI CS4 and need to have them apear in a DVD, I have tried several cominations and they are not clear on the video.  My settings are RGB, DV NTSC Widescreen, have exported for Web and Devises and in Tiff & Targa 72 & 300 DPI.  The diagram has text that looks fine in all the stills but in Premiere and the exported video the images look like a poor photo copy.  Thought I'd start here before asking in PPro.  Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Mmh, differences between versions aside, you are pretty much getting what you are asking. Any compressed format will have a hard time with perependicular lines and lots of high fequency detail (text, the coil spirals). There's really no way to avoid that otehr than to draw thr graphic differently, i.e. not use straight lines and a different way of presenting the text callouts. Also, you could massively improve perception by having the graphic move with a simple slow pan. the motion will lead to a more favorable distribution of the pixels across the scanlines, as the content changes every frame and in addition, motion blur will help to reduce flicker. Lastly, give the graphic some finesse by perhaps making the lines white and adding a dark outer glow to separate them from the background. these blended areas also help to reduce artifacts that appear with harsh transitions on straight lines. If it's an option , you might even want to use color for the + and - cabling (usually blue and red). As Wade suggested, you might try rendering to a different spec, but depending on what your intended final output is, this may not help at all, so working a bit on the graphic might pay off more.

  • How do I convert a production movie for use in iWeb

I had an ad agency create a tv commercial segment for me a few years ago. Now, I'd like to be able to show that ad as a movie in iWeb. Is there a way this can be done?
    iMac G5   Mac OS X (10.4.5)

    Chiman....
    here's how you do it.
Load the movie onto your mac. Either by bringing it in on a external hard disk, or a data dvd, or even a video dvd.
If it's the data dvd or the hard disk... open iMovie and drag the movie file into the CLIPS area. It looks like little boxes in the upper right of the iMovie window.
You can then place it on the time line. That's the three lines running horizontally below the big black area in the middle of the window. When you see the arrow turn to a green + sign then drop it there.
You can then export it using the SHARE menu in a ton of different formats. I suggest using the IPOD setting in the SHARE menu, as it's easier for others on the web to download.
If your movie from the add agency is on a VIDEO DVD, ie one that plays in a dvd player, or tries to play when you load it into your computer, you need to "rip" it off of that Video Dvd first, and then go through the process I've outlined above. Load the DVD into your computer, then quit DVD player when it opens. Leave the DVD in the computer.
You rip a file from a DVD by using HANDBRAKE. it's a piece of shareware you can download at this url
    http://handbrake.m0k.org/
once you have it downloaded, double click on the file, then double click on the disk image that is loaded onto your desktop. Inside you'll see a file that looks like a pineapple and a drink with a little umbrella. That's the software.
Double click on this artwork to open handbrake.
A window will open with a "select a DVD" and you can look at a volume or an image. set it to look at your DVD and click OPEN.
Select the file you want to load onto your computer by clicking on it once... then click RIP. The default settings of Handbrake will be fine for what you're doing.
When it's done loading it onto your computer, quit handbrake and open iMovie. Drag this file into the clips area and complete the steps above.
Remember to back up your work.
Good luck, I hope this helps.

  • Creating graphics for use in iMovie

Do you know of any reasonably priced software or app that would allow me to create an animated opening for my iMovie projects?  I have a photograph and logo that I'd like to bring to life (and perhaps go beyond this rudimentary task with the right software).
i don't want to use the canned logos in the iMovie trailer application.
    Thank you!

You can do this with Apple's Motion software ($50).
It is very powerful software that will probably require that you get training to learn to use to its full potential.
    Good lessons here.
    More good info here.
It integrates well with Final Cut Pro, but not with iMovie. With iMovie, you can create your title sequence in Motion, export it as a QuickTime movie, and then import it to your iMovie project as an Event Clip. Alternatively, you could complete the project in iMovie, except for the titles. Then import the finished movie into Motion and finish it there.
If you have Final Cut Pro X, you can create the complex title in Motion, then use it over and over again as a fill in the blank template in FCP X.
Other software you might consider is Kinemac.

Hi, I'm fairly new to Photoshop Elements. What would be the proper project settings and export settings when creating a quality graphic for using in a film? (I'm using Premiere for video editing.)
Thank you so much for your time and patience. I've been referring to google and haven't pulled up anything yet, not sure if I'm just not putting in the right terms.

  • Post Production Graphics

I would like to create the same type of post production graphics as used in the ESPN show Pardon the Interruption:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Td9bnXqD-UQ
Basically, the future debate topics are in a sidebar with a timer and scroll as the topics are covered.
Do I need Final Cut, or something else?
    Thanks!

Possible in Final Cut, easier in Motion. But if you're talking money, they come bundled together in a suite anyways (Final Cut Studio).

  • What is the best size for using a graphic as my homepage?

I am building my website in iWeb
My graphic designer is going to send me a graphic that I want to use as my homepage graphic - I will input some text.
He keeps asking me what size graphic I want (he charges by size)
If this means file size is my answer 72dpi/ppi = the most efficient?
What size should image be from graphic designer? in inches? in pixels? in KB and MB?
    Is GIF format is best?
I want this to be nearly the full page size. It will be in Black Red and White (the white being a bright white, the red a deep almost crimson)
I'm a novice. Need good advice for placing this graphic into iWeb as my homepage... Mahalo ~!~

According to Apple, the width of most webpages is 980 pixels. If you request that your graphic designer make a JPEG image of approximately that width, you can then use this free, online tool to reduce its file size without affecting its perceptual quality:
    http://www.jpegmini.com
If the image appears too slowly in a browser, you could reduce its file size further (with a loss of quality) via the Preview app:
Preview 5.0 Help: Reducing an image’s file size
Also see the option in iWeb's Preferences “Optimize images on import.”

  • Can a ComboBox be used for Text Input ?

Fireworks does not operate or export in CMYK color space. It
    was
developed for screen images only, and operates and exports in
    RGB color
space. It is not recommended that you use it in preparation
    of images
for print. You mentioned that you don't like photoshop. You
    might like
    Illustrator better.

  • Unable to get the SharePoint 2013 List names using Client object model for the input URL

Please can you help with this issue.
We are not able to get the SharePoint 2013 List names using Client object model for the input URL.
What we need is to use default credentials to authenticate user to get only those list which he has access to.
    clientContext.Credentials = Net.CredentialCache.DefaultCredentials
But in this case we are getting error saying ‘The remote server returned an error: (401) Unauthorized.’
Instead of passing Default Credentials, if we pass the User credentials using:
    clientContext.Credentials = New Net.NetworkCredential("Administrator", "password", "contoso")
It authenticates the user and works fine. Since we are developing a web part, it would not be possible to pass the user credentials. Also, the sample source code works perfectly fine on the SharePoint 2010 environment. We need to get the same functionality
    working for SharePoint 2013.
We are also facing the same issue while authenticating PSI(Project Server Interface) Web services for Project Server 2013.
Can you please let us know how we can overcome the above issue? Please let us know if you need any further information from our end on the same.
    Sample code is here: http://www.projectsolution.com/Data/Support/MS/SharePointTestApplication.zip

    Hi Mistry,
I sure that CSOM will authenticate without passing the
"clientContext.Credentials = Net.CredentialCache.DefaultCredentials" by default. It will take the current login user credentials by default. For more details about the CSOM operations refer the below link.

  • ATTN: Question for Graphic designers using new 24" aluminum imac

I am about ready to replace my 2001 G4 867 Quicksilver. Are you happy with the screen and overall build quality? I mainly use photoshop, indesign and illustrator in that order.
The Mac pro is now too expensive an option for my budget. I read a lot about screen discolorations but would like some feedback from pro users who have adopted this machine.

Well I'm a graphic designer and student. Recently purchased a 20" aluminium iMac, fantastic piece of kit, and despite being smaller compared to the 24", the resolution is still really high and there is lots of workspace. Many seem to recommend the 24" though and part of me wishes I had got a larger screen instead, but the 20" size is actually better than fine.
The only problem is, since release last year, all the latest iMacs are having display issues. I didn't know anything about this before purchasing my iMac and expected a higher quality from Apple. They all seem to have gradient issues where the bottom half of the screen is abnormallly brighter in the 20", the left side is brighter in the 24", and also some reported yellowing in the corners. Apparently, more people have reported problems with the 20" than the 24" though.
If you look through these forums, you will struggle to find one person who actually has an iMac without this issue.
Unfortunately, for graphic design use (eg Photoshop, Indesign, etc), the iMac's current state is useless. I am writing this on my current iMac and it is impossible to see a full solid colour across the screen at any angle, no good for design use!
Not sure what I'm doing with mine yet, refund or get Apple to fix it...

i think to bye imac for graphic design use purpose. kindly guide me. Is iMac best for me ?

    Hello artistsagar,
The word best is always subjective.   It is all a question of your needs, your working practice, your available space; I could go on.
A Mac (probably a 27"one) may well be perfect.  Good size screen, easily understood basic functions and a huge number of recommended programs.   Just Google Mac graphic design to see what is available.
