Product Id replication after Sysprep cloning

Hello,
I have to setup 30 identical systems, with Windows 7 Enterprise edition for my lab. I decided to setup a machine, install all the required software in windows audit mode and clone it using Sysprep with an answer file. For the activation part my university
uses KMS. The cloning was successfully completed using sysprep and imagex. The image was applied to another machine, booted it up and activated it with the KMS.
The problem i'm facing is that both the machines have same product id, but Client Machine IDs(CMID) issued by the KMS are unique. Is there a workaround to eliminate Product Id duplication??
I used sysprep /generalize /oobe /shutdown /unattend:answerfile.xml in the audit mode to generalize the installation.

Hi Sja,
A PID is created after a product is successfully installed. PIDs are used by Microsoft Customer Service to help identify the product when customers engage Microsoft for support.
Although the generalize switch used when image is sysprepped does reset SID, it does not affect or change Product Key (ID).
We don't think it is an issue if PID remain the same. But CMID's has to be different on all.
We also suggest you contact Volume Licensing support and they will give you an specific explanation.

    Dear All,
    We are on CRM ISA MSA 5.0 SP8 & Trex 7 SP 30. Ours is a 3 system landscape. CRM Dev, Q, & P. Recently we added a new system in the landscape for Intergration Testing purpose. and its called as CRI which is a copy of the production Crm box.
    I did all the post installation activitiese and did all Connections (sm59, srmo) between Trex and CRM. After the connection was made, the RFC, SSR are all working fine.
    I did the settings in spro for the product catalog replication, created the ssr and then did a initial replication without document and it worked fine. I then did a replication with documents, I am getting a runtime error, RAISE_EXCEPTION. All the connections between the crm and trex box are working fine. everything is pinging, the FTP user has all the access on the IMS_DOCS_A5C folder.
    Can someone please let me know what the issue could be?

    The intitial replication  transports product catalog data (for example, product items or text) to the index server. You can replicate all or individual product catalog variants. The replicated product catalog contents are transferred from the index server to the Web server. The product catalog contents are then available in the E-Commerce application. Multimedia objects are transferred from the product catalog to the Knowledge Provider Content Server and are subsequently published on the Web server.
    As you said that after you put in the documents the repliaction gives a runitme error, I beleive the replication to the contect server is giving problems.
    1. Have you created templates for folder and assigned them to the catalog types for the attachement of documents.
    2. While replication are you specifying the Publishing computer ID  with the checkbox transfer Document content ticked.

  • T450 - Power Manager crashes after Sysprep

    After Sysprepping a T450 with a clean Windows 7 64 bit Professional custom build, Lenovo Power Manager crashes with "An error occurred while loading resource DLL".   Followed by "There was a problem starting C:\Program Files (x86)\ThinkPad\Utilities\PWMTR64V.DLL The Power Manager toolbar on the taskbar also will not load. Reinstalling Power Manager (latest version 6.67.5) resolves issue.  Reinstalling it immediately prior to Sysprep does NOT resolve the issue. Anyone else seen this?  

    Probably because the tools aren't added to the taskbar in "Default" user. Did you added the tools to the taskbar in Audit mode?
    Though sysprep will not keep some settings. You may need to use `unattended.xml` to configure scripts to add those tools to the taskbar.
    Just another question: does the PM tool appears in its factory state?

    After MRP run you will get pl. orders for inhouse produced material.
    Double click this planned order & then convert intoi production order.
    Check the dates, material availablity,capacity availability & then click the Release (flag)icon.The order status will become REL.
    Then Save the order.
    Inmd04 you can see the new prod order.
    Now use T.code MB1A , 261movement to issue raw material (sub - components) wrt this order.
    Then use T.code CO15 to confirm the order.
    T.code CO11n can be use for confirmation by operation wise.
    Then use T.code MB31 to post the stock.
    Then delivery is made use T.code vl01n against a sale order.
    Billing is done using vf01.
    Overhead calculated using KGI2.
    Variance calculated using KKS2.
    Order settled using KO88.
    Here the cycle is completed.

  • Not prompted to set Administrator password at logon after Sysprep

    As far as I know, the following are facts regarding the Administrator password on Windows 2008 R2:
    - By default the Administrator account is enabled and the password is blank, but you are forced to set a password at first logon after Windows installation
    - Sysprep is supposed to set the Administrator password to blank, unless one is indicated in the unattend file.
    On my 2008 R2 images I want to be prompted to set the Administrator password after the image is deployed (and after sysprep has been run on the source machine), but for some reason this is not happening.  Instead it just comes up with a logon screen
    and expects the password that was used on the source machine.
    I just want the same behavior as when 2008 R2 is installed from media, which is for the Administrator account to have a blank password, but where I am forced to set one at first boot.  I have tried setting the password to blank on the source machine
    before running sysprep, but then it just automatically logs on the Administrator on the first boot, which I don't want.
    What setting can I look for that may be causing this?  On a previous image which I created using the same unattend file, this worked as I wanted it to, thus the reason I believe it's a setting on my source machine.

    From the log, we can see your administrator password was not cleared successfully.
    I had a test on my Windows Server 2008 R2 computer and it cleared my administrator password successfully. After the computer restarted, it prompted me to change
    the password. And the following line appeared in the log file:
    [shsetup] CleanupAdministratorPassword: previous account flags = 0x00000201
    [shsetup] CleanupAdministratorPassword: password cleared
    [shsetup] CleanupAdministratorPassword: setting account flags = 0x00800201
    [shsetup] CleanupAdministratorPassword: password expired
    Now I would like to know whether you use any unattend file together with sysprep. Did you put any .xml file under C:\Windows\System32\Sysprep or explicitly specify
    an unattend file using the sysprep command?
    Please remove any .xml file in C:\Windows\System32\Sysprep, double-click sysprep.exe in C:\Windows\System32\Sysprep, check the box before Generalize to sysprep your
    system again.

  • Windows 8.1 Adobe CS6 Adobe PDF printer broken after sysprep

    Windows 8.1 enterprise 64 bit with CU1 installed. Ran sysprep priror to install. Installed Adobe Design and Web Premium CS6 & Premiere Pro CS6. The Adobe PDF printer is working with UAC enabled threw all PC accounts. Ran sysprep (standard generalize, skip rearm, & skip all win 8.1 questions) with UAC disabled since bat files will not run with UAC enabled. After UAC is enabled you can't print using the Adobe PDF printer unless running from Administrator account or by disabling UAC. We also have Adobe CC except the instructor is currently teaching CS6 suites. I tested acrobat 10.0.0 & 10.11.1 same problem after sysprep.

    Have you tried running Process Monitor to see where the permissions problems are occurring?

  • Product category replication issue

    Hi friends,
    We are trying to replicate product category from one of our R/3 backend to the SRM box. There is only one product category we have specified in the  filters  in R3AC3, but DNL_CUST_PROD1 is showing status running from past 3 days.
    I would like to point out that the same scenario is working fine for other R/3 backends.
    Any idea/suggestion about the reason for this issue in replication process?

    We are also expecting some customizing problem as the reason for this issue.
    I just want to again point out that Product category replication is working for other R/3 backends. Only one specific R/3 backend is causing this issue.
    Can you advise what could be these backend specific settings and where we can verify them?

    Guys thank you so much for the advises and helps.. i went back to Extra store and finally they changed my unit to a new one..Now i can figured out which one has facetime or none, from the box itself at back  it writtens arabic so definetely no facetime and if english, portugese and chinese characters has 100 % with facetime.. I'm so blessed that they agreed to changed my unit to new one. At first the manager opened  four boxes of new unit for me to check if facetime is there and he reassured me there's new batch of iphone5 coming on 2nd day. So i went back and he changed it to new one.. .Now im satisfied..

  • Create MTO production order immedately after running MRP

    HI experts,
    Does a stragtey group can be used for a material to create MTO production order/purchase order after running MRP?
    Or how we can set a material to create MTO production/purhcase order immedately after running MRP?
    Now we are using stragety group 50 for make to order material.
    After running MRP, material will create a Make-to-order plan orders. Then we converted them into purchase order or production order based on propurment type.

    Please assing Planning Stargety -82 if you want production order just after logging sales order .Here MRP will be executed in background and it will generate Production Order fro MTO item and for depedent it will generate PR/PO .Make sure that , you have kep Individaul and Collective Indicator as 1 in MRP4 view of all the compoenets which have used in BOM .

  • JRE update after sysprep fails

    During our rollout of windows 7, we are having problems with JRE 7. We can install and update without any problems before sysprep. But after sysprep when a user tries to update it fails with "installation Interrupted". We setup logging the install and found MSI error 1603, with a reference to CustomAction InstallJava.     We found the issue!
    Apparently our Symantec Endpoint Protection, anti-virus program, had a definition setting called:
    "Prevent registration of new Browser Helper Objects (HIPS) [AC15]" that was causing the issue.
    We disabled this and the problem completely disappeared.

    After performing cold cloning ,I am trying to configure OEM which shows me error message in logfile,
    CONFIG: ORA-20001: SYSMAN already exists..
    Do I need to drop DBSNMP and SYSMAN schema and create repos from the beginning, if yes then is there any effect on database if I drop schemas.

    so Production Order Status will be DLV.
    2. Then complete the order technically by using Tcode : CO02--> Functions ( Menu)---> Restrict
    Processing -
    > Technically Complete. You can carry out TECO for multiple Orders in Tcode : COHV
    (Mass Processing).
    3. Over head calculation- KGI2 or CO43
    4. WIP calculation - KKAX or KKAO
    5. Variance - KKS2 or KKS1
    6. Settlement - KO88 or CO88.

    Acording to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2249906, this has to do with the /generalize-switch of sysprep, which is doing some spooky with SIDs that is all logical.
    My question is, how can I make sure that all the VMs in the image can start up properly after the redeployment of the image?

    You should re-import the VMs on new hosts that have been deployed from a sysprepped image.  This is due to the unique security GUIDs set on each VHD which can't be re-used on a duplicate host.

    I have a product in ECC with taxes and when I replicate it to CRM I got the product without erros and without Taxes too!!
    I need the product in CRM with taxes.
    I have replicated the tables TSTL, TSKM, TSKD,..and I have run the checking of data transfer settings and it says that is OK.
    Any ideas??

    Could you kindly be more clear? I did not get your point.
    Do you mean to say tax changes you make in R/3 is not coming to CRM?
    OR
    in CRM txn:COMMPR01 , you are not able to make changes to tax data?
    OR
    You want to get the tax data to CRM , for materials which were added, before you added structure MLAN in txn:R3AC1.
    This would really help me to check further.
