My pc will not start-up.  This is what I get::  Failuire ID: UBRJMT-56H64E-XD003G-61A903 on the hard drive test.  Anybody help?

Hi,
The error code will be a Smart or Disk Self Test failure - in either case, it would indicate that the Hard Drive is failing and needs to be replaced.  This is also consistent with the start-up issue.
If your notebook is still under warranty, contact HP and arrange to have the drive replaced - you can check your warranty status Here.
If you live in the US, contact HP Here.
If you are in another part of the world, start Here.
If you are out of warranty and would like a guide on replacing the Hard Drive yourself, please let me know.

    I have a hp pavilion dv6815nr serial number:cnf815imhv, p/n; an831ua#aba. I just noticed a few weeks ago that my sound on my laptop quit working. I've disabled and enabled the drivers again, windows media player doesn't even work and I can't hear youtube videos or any media  for that matter. I've checked the device manager and there isn't a yellow exclamation point by the drivers. there are exclamation icons by the Ricoh memory stick controller though. The drivers names are LitexMedia Virtual Audio cable and when I click on the properties it says that the device is performing normally. I'm lost. Please help.

    If you plan on upgrading the video card to something with more grunt ( 2GB and more vRAM) then you will also need to upgrade the PSU to at least 500W+ PSU with PCI Express power connectors. Use an enthusiast grade PSU by a well known manufacturer like Corsair.

    Windows 7 do not boot from recovery disk.From keyboard can't move highlight any sign and arrow do not move from keyboard. Can't start any recovery disk from Ram Recovery to factory condition works only from comp. hardrive.  .But recovery from hardrive has some missing files and after recovery keyboard do not work.
    Windows 7 bit 32 do not startup.Screen says:edit Boot options for Ramdisk options.  Path:\windows\system 32 \boot\winload.exe

    Whne trying to boot from Recovery Disks are you tapping Esc key immediately after powering on to bring up the menu? From there tapping F9 Boot options?

  • I have a one year old HP Pavillion g7 Notebook PC // Product number : B9P49UA#ABA

    I'm currently experiencing a Hard Disk 1 failure. It will not open windows and I can not get my system recovery options to open either.. I simply get a gray screen and none of the boxes/options for recovery will appear. the Failure ID Code is: 94PNMK-68K77G-MFPX1F-60VQ03 // SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME RECOVER THIS.. I'VE DONE ALL I KNOW TO DO AND I CAN'T ACCESS MY LAST RECOVERY POINT AND DO NOT HAVE A RECOVERY DISK!!! If I choose "Start Windows Normally".. it appears to start.. says it is starting.. and then just freezes with those words on the screen and never will open windows. Upon powering up I chose "esc" and opened my Advanced System Diagnostics - 4.1.0.0 Out of the Hard Disk, Tuneup, Run-In, Start-Up (all failed and have the same Failure ID) ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!! I CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT MY PC!!! 

    A SMART hard drive error or DST failure typically indicates that the hard drive has failed or is about to fail and will need to replaced. After replacing the hard drive, please use the HP Recovery Media you previously created to return the computer to a factory like state.

    Have you tried DO NOT press Esc on start up ? What is the result ? You don't need to press Esc unless to need to do something, otherwise it should start in few seconds normally.

  • I have a HP Pavillion, Model h8-1010, Product No. QN557AA#ABA, S/N 4CE1270NQ1, windows 7 home editio

    Screen freezes up randomly, I called HP and Tech support had me unplug everything, including power cord and hold down start button for 20 seconds to release built up static electricity.  It did not work.  Computer randomly freezes, can not use any keystrokes, no error messages.  I have to reboot computer to get it to come back up. Has happened since it was new, Oct. 12, 2011.  Varies from 1hr. to 12 hrs to freeze

    Hi,
    Shut down the PC.  Tap away at f9 as soon as you start up to access the access the Diagnostic Menu - let all the tests complete and post back with any failures.
    If all of the above tests pass, try the following.
    From the Start Menu, open All Programs, open Accessories, right click the Command Prompt and select 'Run as Administrator'.  In to the prompt type the following command and hit enter.
    sfc /scannow                 ( note that there is a space between sfc and the / )
    Let the process complete, then type exit and hit enter.
    Next, click the Start Menu, click Computer, left click Local Disc C once to highlight it, right click Local Disc C and select Properties.  Click the Tools tab and then click the button to 'Check the Drive for Errors'.  In the following window make sure both boxes are ticked and then click Start.  Part of this process will require a restart to check the drive.

    Hi there,
    I need to replace the screen on my laptop. I cracked it and two or so inches on the far right side are just white with a few colored lines from top to bottom except for a few spots where it's just black.
    Can someone tell me what kind of screen I need? There's a few I found on Amazon, but I'm not sure if any screen for a Pavilion g6 would be compatible.

  • How to find win 8 product key in bios

    hi just got hp envy 17 model 7255dx,but i was using different dv7 before new one,and i had ssd hard drive which i just wanted to format from the scratch because of different hardware on previous mashine,so i have now only ssd hard drive installed and i install trial win 8 in order to activate later so there is no sticker with the product key any more on the back of the laptop,i read someware that key is in bios so how i can find he key?
    edit: i tried belarc advisor and he gave me the product key but when i type in order to activate the windows i get a message  the product key you entered appears to be default product key and cant be used to activate this edition of windows please enter different key

    Well hp is no help at all I was on the phone with Microsoft and hp had both remotely hook up to my laptop to no avail, and had several chats with hp and Microsoft support on line. Support runs on a script and if your issue is not on that scrip they are reading from good luck!  Here is what happened with my laptop, Product name: HP ENVY TS 17 Notebook PC, Product number: E4S14UA#ABA, Serial number: {Private Information Removed} windows preinstalled. I updated to windows pro to get media center and worked fine, and reformatted with the disk I ordered from hp and worked fine 2 times. Went and up dated to windows 8.1 and I did not like it could not uninstall it so I reformatted with the hp disk once more, well then the lap top would not activate  and to find out the key was blocked by Microsoft, called Microsoft once more and they said they block keys once in a while, and then they give new keys to people who purchase a key from them, and that I needed to get one from my pc manufacture which is hp. In the numerous chats emails ect. hp could not understand that concept, and was down to repeating themselves in chat, copying what they just typed and pasting it in the chat box lol I do not know if they were not thinking or that's all they had.  When hp had started to copy and paste  repeat text in chat I told them I was done stick me with a fork and ended the chat. The reply person sent an email saying I would have to send my laptop in and they would have to take it apart and work on the system board for a key just a key. So I saved them money on shipping and tech support, I paid 119.99 I think it was may been 119.00 and send hp several notices to pay, I will try a few more times I have the address to their billing in CA  and will send a few there. If I get no place I will take them to small claims court, and if hp wants to pay someone to show up and loose for 119.00 then great. With the new key laptop works fine. Good luck with hp lol.
