Product improvement study won't go away

For the last few days I've had this constant invitation to participate in the product improvement study. No matter how you answer it just isn't going away. It comes back sometimes in a few minutes, sometimes in a few hours.
How do I make it quit, it is really annoying.

I think I found an answer somewhere that indicated that there is a program that you can remove.  I found this "HPCustPartc.exe" within my Add/Remove programs.  Try removing that program and see if that helps.  Good luck.  I find this really annoying.  Love HP but for this.  At one time I received a message saying I could change my preferences regarding participation within the program by logging into HP.  What a joke.  You can't find that info anywhere - and I've been searching off and on for days.

  • HP Product Improvement Study pop-ups will not stop even after uninstalling it.

I opted in to the Product Support feature when I was installing my HP Pro 8600 thinking this would be only a one time deal but I was wrong.  At least twice a week the notification pops up that the information gathered is ready to be transmitted and quite frankly is getting more than annoying.
I have gone to the Control Panel and uninstalled the program for this feature, rebooted and still this message will not go away.  Is there anything else that needs to be uninstalled or has HP planted something in the Registry that needs to be removed?
Are there any other options other than totally uninstalling the printer software and re-installing it?  This last option shouldn't be an option at all as there should be an easier fix.

If you uninstall the program HP OfficeJet 8600 Product Improvement Study from the Control Panel, you should not see any popups unless the uninstall didnt work for some reason.
Can you go to All Programs\HP\HP OfficeJet 8600 and look for HP Product Improvement Study and click it. This should launch a screen that lets you opt out of the study. Click the I Decline button and you should not see any more pop-ups.
    Hope this helps

  • Product Registration option won't go away on Adobe Acrobat Std X

    Hi,
I'm in the middle of a customization project for Adobe Acrobat, Reader and flash. For the Acrobat (standard), I'm using the customization wizard and selecting the option to suppress registration. At first it seems to work: when I open acrobat it's not there, but after a few seconds, it shows up grayed out and then after a few more seconds, it shows fully enabled.
I tried other registry tweaks and also tried to hide the menu through js (but couldn't find it).
Any ideias? Is it doing it for any know reason?
    thank you,
    JF

My computer was missing a iPodDriver.kext, and an archive update had to be performed for the OS. I went to a Genius Bar, it took about an hour.

  • Why do I keep getting a reoccuring product improvemnt study request? I did it already.

I have a deskjet 3050 j610 (a) all in one printer.  I did the product improvement study at least 10 times.  I've declined it more then that and I STILL keep getting the pop up.  It's driving me nuts.  How can I get it to stop?

uninstall it from your programs installed...in your pc.
Although I am working on behalf of HP, I am speaking for myself and not for HP.

  • Help Product Improvement Program dialog box won't go away

When I re-opened the beta version of Fireworks CS4 last
night, there was a dialog box asking me whether or not I wanted to
participate in helping Adobe with product enhancement by submitting
information on my usage of Fireworks, but the bloody thing will not
close. There's options to select yes, no and a few other things,
but whenever I select anything it won't go away. Does anyone else
have this problem? And if so, is Adobe aware of it?

Yes, this problem has been reported already in the CS4 Beta
    forum.
    Reading
that topic, it appears that only Mac users reported the error
so far, and the only way out was to quit and restart Fireworks. I
think it would be a good idea to post your case there too.

  • Servicelayer.exe won't go away

I'm using PC Suite 7.1 with WinXP Sp3 using a cable connection to my Nokia 6303 Classic.
The issue I have is that I rarely use PC Suite and have it not set to start with Windows etc. However, after I do use it, and have disconnected the phone and shut down PC Suite, servicelayer.exe and its associated processes NclrSSrv.exe and NclUSBSrv.exe remain in the memory - and if I stop them using Windows Task Manager they simply restart after a few seconds. I know we all have huge amounts of memory in our PCs these days, but I don't want unneeded processes running. Is there any way to prevent this and get PC Suite to simply start when needed and stop when not needed?

I understand that they are services that sit waiting for a connection, but they're a bit of a waste of memory.
The stage I have got to thus far is that if I set servicelayer.exe to manual in services.msc, remove the PC Suite entry from starting up through msconfig then nothign gets started automatically. However, if I then connect my phone and use PC Suite servicelayer.exe and its associated processes rerutn and won't go away - even when stopped through Windows Task Manager. Surely there ought to be some way of being able to set this so that these processes are only runnig when necessary. Or is it that programmers have become obsessed with speed andf having processes sitting in the memory is a means of improving the speed programmes start up thereby giving the appearance of improved speed whilst potentially dragging down the overall speed of your PC through it being clogged up with processes witing to do somethign you do one or may twice a week? Ho hum.....

  • My ipad was is displaying an alert message " A wi-fi connection is required to download your apps and media". So it has been connected to the internet over night and this morning but is still displaying the alert message and it won't go away. what to do?

    Hi,
My name is Norbert. I am having some difficulties restoring my icloud back up. My ipad was doing an icloud back up and the alert message displayed on the ipad after my internet was interrupted "A wi-fi connection is required to download your apps and media".

  • After IOS 8 update, bookmark bar won't go away

After upgrading to IOS 8 on my iPad 2, in landscape mode in Safari, the bookmarks bar, now combined with links and "Reading List", won't go away. I believe it is supposed to go away when you select one of the functions, such as bookmark, so that the tab turns blue, then hit it again. It doesn't. I can turn it to portrait mode to make it go away, but I'd like to use landscape mode without losing a third of the screen to bookmarks.

Apple knows what's good for you - how dare you criticizing their benevolent parental guidance?
Jokes aside, I'm also a little bit puzzled that there's no option to choose between the "toggle on-off" setting in landscape mode and the fade out one as in portrait In Safari's settings. But there's actually some kind of workaround I'm now using most of the time in landscape mode:
When tapping the URL address bar your bookmarks will also show above the virtual keyboard as they do when Safari doesn't have any websites opened. As soon as one taps into that bookmark window to scroll or directly click a bookmark the keyboard disappears again. It may not be a perfect method, especially when bookmarks aren't organized in folders, because the top level bookmarks are displayed as rather largish icons. But those contained in a folder will actually display as a drop-down list (can be scrolled when having a large number of entries) similar to the normal bookmarks list. Once a bookmark has been clicked everything fades out and you're taken to the selected site. As my bookmarks are almost exclusively in folders such as "News", "Sports", "Tech" etc. I've come to appreciate this kind of bookmark navigation much more than through the standard bookmarks menu with its annoying behavior in landscape mode.

  • I have already downloaded OS Yosemite (it says so on my Apple About this mac overview) but now I keep getting a message from "install Yosemite" that keeps asking me to install Yosemite again and won't go away.

I have the same issue. My computer has also slowed down. I hope this isn't a malware. I haven't input my password into it, and dont know what I did to turn this on.

The ! turns up when iPhoto loses the connection between the thumbnail in the iPhoto Window and the file it represents.
What version of iPhoto? Assuming 09 or later...
    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

  • How do I get rid of the blue "downloading the latest applications" bar which won't go away even after uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox?

Can't get rid of the blue "downloading the latest applications" bar that seems to be just hanging and won't go away. I uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox, but the bar is still there after 2 days. I updated something (can't remember what!) on I.E., and it had the same blue bar, but it had a box I could x out of so it went away on I.E. I don't know why the blue bar is there on Firefox, as I did the update while on I.E.
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened

    Annette,
#In the menu bar, at the top of the Firefox window, Go to Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions.
    # Locate ''each ''of the following extensions by name and click the disable button
#Restart Firefox as prompted and see if the undesired toolbar has been removed.
#The extensions to disable are: '''Crawler Toolbar''', '''MP3 Rocket Toolbar''', '''MSN Toolbar''', '''Search Helper Extension'''
If you don't need some / all of those toolbars, consider leaving them disabled.
You can probably remove these toolbars permanently from Start -> Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs.

  • Ghost Rental in my IPOD Video Library...there's a video that I rented that won't go away...how to remove?

I rented a video on my ipod, watched it, and now it won't go away.  I can't rewatch it either.  When I sync, it is not on the computer as far as rentals.  Can anyone help me remove this?

See if you have enabled 'VoiceOver'…
Open Apple Menu > System Preferences > Accessibility, select VoiceOver in the sidebar list, disable that if it is enabled. You may also see a keyboard shortcut listed there (e.g. cmd+F5), it's possible you hit that accidentally

  • Game Center won't go away

So, a while ago, I jailbroke my iPod. It was going well, but then I installed something that made me reset my iPod. Okay, that's fine and dandy, everything's fine, reset and looks fine. But now my iPod won't open calendar or mail, play videos, or let me sign into Game Center. I wouldn't normally care about this, but whenever I open a game that has GC, the pop up comes up and no matter what I do, It won't go away. I've clicked the "Cancel" button more times than I can count, and signing in will just go on forever (literally, I left it signing in for an entire day and nothing happened). I've also tried the "Click the cancel button, close the app and do it again" method. But that doesn't do anything.
I'd like to be able to play my games that have gamecenter without having to go into airplane mode or go somewhere where there isn't wifi. It limits my ability to play where I want, and my ability to make online purchases, as well as play online with my friends.
Does someone know of a way that you can disable Game Center without actually using the app or the iPod?
    Thanks,
    -Silent
P.S: I've already tried to restore my iPod a second time to see if that would work; iTunes wouldn't let me.

  • Help! Random blue screen appears and won't go away also getting glitches.

    Hello,
So recently a blue screen has been randomly appearing taking up the whole screen, it won't go away until I hold down the button that turns laptop off. My screen has also been glitching and just now a glitch took up the whole screen then my background dissappeared to be left with this blue screen. Please help, I can't afford a new laptop!

That is odd and I'm not savvy enough to tell you what it means. But I'd venture a guess that you're in some kind of a debug mode. Again, a wild guess, but perhaps if you created a new admin account and log in with that, maybe the more (if that's the issue) will go away?
I'd start up in safe boot mode first and see if that helps. Maybe it's something running in your startup items?
Have you Googled the phrase? You might find something on a more technical Mac site that way? I just Googled <<event sysontoc>> and came up with a few leads you might want to check out.
